Left outraged as Hanson delivers hammer blow to multiculturalism doctrine

Today on Truth Bomb, because we had to have that little chat, but we do need to talk more about this whole question of culture right here in this country.And today, I want to bring you a little blast from the past.In fact, from the terrible, awful white picket fence 1950s, which I think ought to go a long way towards sorting out the whole multiculturalism versus monoculturalism debate Pauline Hanson kicked off a few days ago at the Press Club.Now, again, let's just refresh everyone's memory, because we've been talking about a lot of things today.The One Nation leader took the press club by storm this week, silenced at least a few of her doubters in the media who wished her to fail, and delivered an absolute hammer blow, quite a necessary one I would add, to the doctrine of multiculturalism.Multiculturalism, of course, being a Whitlam -era experiment carried on by Malcolm Fraser, which the Australian people, this is crucial, were never given a vote on, and about which they were told simply, accept this or you might get called a racist.

Now, here's a little bit of what Pauline had to say.

We cannot be a multicultural society.We are a multiracial society.but we must be monocultural.Australians must live under the one cultural umbrella.

Well, not surprisingly, the left absolutely lost their mind over this idea.You know, they regard this sort of talk as nothing short of heresy.For them, Pauline Hanson saying that multiculturalism doesn't work and that we should all be united under one cultural umbrella was as horrifying as Galileo insisting that, yes, in fact, the earth moves around the sun and not the other way around.And just like Galileo, they are seeking to burn Pauline Hansonat the stake, metaphorically at least, for this thought crime.Now, the internet after her speech was quickly flooded with videos like this one from a left -wing activist called Gregory Andrews, who describes himself as an activist for climate, country, and community, and who tried to make the point that without multiculturalism, Australia would have, you guessed it, No good food at all.

Pauline Hanson said she's gonna make Australia monocultural, right?So I thought I'd better do a quick audit in the pantry and see what we could still eat.This kimchi's definitely gonna have to go.Chinese sweet vinegar?Nah, that'll have to go.Alwadi pomegranate molasses?

That's definitely going.Ha -ha!Cadbury cocoa?That should be okay.We just won't let Pauline Hanson know that the cocoa comes from Ghana.Ha ha, here's two things we can keep.

White sugar and white flour.

It's Australian too.And Labour politicians got in on this silly act as well, like the Lebanese -born Labour Youth Justice Minister in New South Wales, Jihad Dib, whose electorate contains only 36 % native -born Australians.He posted this photo to his Facebook along with the caption, but I do ponder what my monocultural lunch could be." Well, a couple of things to say here.Again, it's a real tell that the biggest advocates of multiculturalism never seem to be able to come up with an argument for their belief system beyondthink of all the vibrant cuisines.

And it's pretty disingenuous, in fact, a total lie, to suggest that one nation's monocultural policy means I don't know, Italian trattorias and Vietnamese banh mi shops would be shut down and we'd all be forced onto a diet of meat and three veg.It's a deflection, of course, because as soon as anyone starts to talk about the negatives of multiculturalism, whether it's ethnic crime gangs or forced marriages, they get shut up faster than you can say Human Rights Commission.You know what the game is here.What really greats about this is that these sorts of arguments suggest that multiculturalism's biggest fans don't really like the Australian culture much.They think it's bland and boring and white bread and all of that.But Pauline Hanson, on the other hand, she resonates with her supporters who do love this country and its post -Settlement culture warts and all, and are sick of being looked down upon by the cultural snobs of the left.

And it is very interesting to note that in the pre -official multiculturalism days, Australia had a very different compact with migrants.It said, yes, come, Bring your culture, but whatever you do, make every effort to join the mainstream of Australian life.Now, a viewer recently sent me a photo of this document, which was apparently given to new Greek migrants sailing to Australia in the late 1950s, when Sir Robert Menzies, the founder of the Liberal Party, was prime minister and managing the boom in post -war migration.What the document said and sent in the name of the immigration minister of the day and printed in English on one side Greek on the other Says is vitally importantIt starts by stating plainly that the ideal attitude of a new settler to Australia to take is this, quote, Australia is my new home.Australians are my neighbors and friends.

And it goes on to say there are many things in this new land which I may find strange and I may miss many things which have been familiar in my own country.But I have come to a new land and I must expect differences.I have come to Australia because it is a country possessing many new opportunities.And to make the most of those opportunities, I must become a part of this country.And the document goes on to say, in no uncertain terms, quote, I must learn the language.The brochure warns that Australian people have been, quote, very critical of Greek migrants who do not take the time to study English.

But that said, the document also says migrants should not forget their old country or its traditions, quote, for by preserving the best of the arts and tradition and culture of that land of my birth, I shall be contributing something of spiritual as well as material value.to my new home.Well, frankly, isn't that beautifully put?And by the way, it's a lot richer than the multicultural crowd who would have reduced these Greek migrants to little more than a new source of souvlaki.The fact that neither Labour nor the Liberals have been able to articulate such a cogent idea is why migration is such a worry now.Not just because of the huge numbers, but because it feels like we are losing control of the ability to integrate new arrivals.

We are losing control of the country.Now, Labour, of course, says we need the huge intake to do vital health care work.But when you look at the 1 .4 million people brought in under the Albanese government, well, I don't know.they're all working as nurses in old folks' homes.Do you?And the liberals, frankly, aren't much better.

Angus Taylor talks about too many migrants and that there's not enough focus on the qualities they bring, and that's really good.But the coalition's policy around linking migration to housing, well, that just seems like they're kind of putting property developers in the driver's seat of our demography, doesn't it?So, of course, into the gap comes one nation.And while I haven't spoken to the senator about this, I imagine that when she imagines a migration policy, an ideal migration policy, it would be something kind of like what the Menzies government proposed.Bring your best self, but make Australia your home spiritually as well as physically under one Australian flag and as part of one great Australian culture.
