It's time for Lefties Losing It.Now you may know I've been away for the past two weeks in the US and I was lucky enough to be there for July 4 celebrations.It was of course the 250th birthday of the world's freest and most powerful nation and regular folk everywhere were full of joy, full of joy.The lefties on the other hand were losing it.

There is a slur in America's founding documents.

The South African constitution is generally thought of as one of the best constitutions in the world, and ours continues to be a piece of crap.

I think this is a country whose history is racist, whose history is steeped in white supremacy, and the anthem reflects that.

The hands with which they built this nation were enslaved.I think it's ridiculous that people don't see what this country was founded on.The land on which they formed this union was stolen.

If somebody fell asleep in 1896 and woke up today in 2026, they would simply say the only difference is now Negroes have a TV show and we wear nice suits.

A sick country is a racist country.

I feel uncomfortable about the word hero because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war.

They swapped out Klan hoods for Brooks Brothers suits.

And I was really disturbed.I saw dozens and dozens of pickup truck plicatives against Joe Biden on the back of them, Trump flags, and some cases just dozens of American flags, which you know, is also just disturbing.

Not to be outdone, Sunny Holston from The View was also eager to tell us how disturbed she is by the mere sight of the American flag.

There are times when I walk into a community and I see American flags all over the community and I suddenly feel unsafe because there is a section of this country that hasco -opted the American flag and they equate being an American or an American flag with white supremacy.

It is not a symbol of white supremacy, Sonny, only in your twisted mind.You know, when I'm in the States and in a neighbourhood with lots of American flags, I feel safe.I know I'm among law -abiding folk who love their country.Now, you may not have heard of Senator Peterson.Patty Murray.She's from the blue state of Washington.

And she thought it was a great idea to question EPA chief Lee Zeldin about abortions in the water.You heard that right.Abortions in the water.This isn't AI.

But do you seriously believe there's abortion in the water like some of the far right activists are suggesting?

I have not.You just said abortion in the water.

That's what some far -right activists are saying, that they have an audience in the EPA on that absurd issue.

Yeah, I have not had a conversation with anyone at the agency as far as abortions in water.

And you're not actively pursuing it or don't have groups?

I don't even know what you're talking about.

None of us know what you're talking about.Now to the world of rock and roll and the Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger sat down with the New York Times and they asked him about rock stars preaching to their audience, you know, like the insufferable Bruce Springsteen.Mick has a very different approach.

You have somebody like a Bruce Springsteen, who clearly sees his job as engaging in a meaningful back -and -forth with his audience.It means something different to him.What does your relationship to the audience mean to you?What do they represent, all those people out there?

Well, first of all, it depends where you are.My job in the live music world is just to be there.people that come is to have the best time they possibly can and for two hours or whatever it is to forget all their problems and problems of the world and you don't want to lecture them.You don't want to lecture them.

Well said Mick.People do not want to be lectured to by out of touch rock stars or actors.That's something that is lost on wannabe rocker Rainn Wilson.The actor from the TV show The Office seems to think that we're all desperate to hear his harebrained views.

One of the things that pisses me off to no end is Ricky Gervais saying, just take your actor award.No one wants to hear what you have to say.It's like, fuck you.Guess what?Everyone gets to say what they want to say about anything.Gaza, climate change, politics, you get to say it.

If you're a truck driver, you get to say it.If you're a school teacher.

Now, you'd think that clown would be a little bit more grateful to Ricky Gervais for giving him a career.If it wasn't for Gervais, there'd be no office and likely no fame and fortune for Rain.As for comparing yourself to truck drivers and teachers, how many awards nights do those professions have with a national audience?If you want to rant and rave, then do it on your social media pages, just like truck drivers and teachers.Now to the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham.And of course, the left love nothing more than celebrating the deaths of conservatives.

So loving and inclusive of them.Here is alleged comic and actress Margaret Cho gloating over Lindsey Graham's death.She seems to think that Mitch McConnell has died as well.And she's hoping for President Trump's death too.

Bye, Lindsey.Bye, Lindsey Graham.

You know what's dead, Maggie?It's your sad little Crea.Can anyone even remember the last time that woman was funny, intentionally?Joining me now is Newsweek senior editor at large Josh Hammer.Josh, this bloodlust from the left is rather gross.We saw it when Charlie Kirk was murdered.

And now we're seeing it with Lindsey Graham, who who died at the age of 71 after decades of serving his country.And they're still wishing death upon the president, who has already survived at least three assassination attempts.

Rita, first of all, This is completely unexpected and utterly tragic news here in the United States.This came out of absolutely positive.We know our Lindsey Graham was flying all over the world just in recent days.He was on the phone with the president seemingly within minutes, at least within an hour or two prior to his fatal heart attack.And it came out of absolutely nowhere.In fact, the news broke in the wee hours of the overnight here in the United States.

I actually got up because I was awake for another reason.I checked my phone, I saw the news, and I could not fall back asleep.I thought maybe I was having a nightmare.I thought maybe I was dreaming.But it's a reminder that this is who the left are in this context.And frankly, this does not matter about the identity of the individual on the right.

Lindsey Graham is not It's not exactly a fire -breathing Stephen Miller -esque MAGA Republican.Lindsey Graham is a throwback to a different era.He's a throwback to the George W. Bush era.He was very close friends with John McCain.He's very much an unreconstructedold neoconservative.

So the fact that they are reacting this way to him basically just means that they will react this way to anyone who has an R next to their name, which by the way, is exactly what many of us said for years and years and years and years.as the left was tarring and feathering men like George W. Bush, like Mitt Romney for being Hitler or fascist, this, that.And you know what?Then they actually got Donald Trump.And Donald Trump is, to be clear, is obviously not a Hitler or fascist there.But now the fact that they say this over and over and over again for a decade there, it's crying wolf.

Why is it crying wolf?Because they said about Bush and Romney before, then now they're saying it about Lindsey Graham now.But the country has had a tremendous loss in this horrific death.I did not agree with Jeremy on anything, but that, frankly, is completely irrelevant.He was a very jovial, very nice man, someone who his colleagues genuinely loved working with, someone who loved the game politics.And above all, really, he was a patriot.

He loved this country.And he really, really, really loved Donald Trump.He and Donald Trump had a very special friendship, a very special political friendship, which transcended their policy position, because they actually did not agree on everything.Lindsay, a lot more liberal on immigration.They had foreign policy differences.They love each other, and that is why the White House flight is currently flying on half staff.

And if I had to guess, Rita, I bet the president of the United States is genuinely, personally, just deeply depressed at this news.

Well, we'll talk about that because he did talk to Lindsey Graham just minutes, perhaps hours before his death, and his death is a massive shock.It's been described as a from a brief and sudden illness.He reportedly suffered chest pains and cardiac arrest, but As you said Josh, there is such great shock about his passing because he did not appear to be ill at all.He was keeping up a furious pace and this is him in Ukraine just a day before his death.

So when I get back to Washington, I'm going to go with Senator Blumenthal to the Republican and Democratic leader to see if we can find time to move this Russian sanctions package that would give tools to President Trump to help end this war.

Josh, is there any chatter at all in DC or elsewhere about his death being anything other than due to natural causes, given he was such a massive advocate for Ukraine and we know some of the tactics the Russians have employed over the years?

Yeah, listen, think about Alexei Navalny.Russia has, in many, many instances over the years, attended to and at times has successfully poisoned people overseas.So the timing is more than a little suspicious.It is more than a little suspicious that Lindsey Graham just got back from Kiev, Ukraine, a day before he has a heart attack at the age of 71.On the other hand, Lindsey Graham was known to drink more than he should have.He was always on the road.

He slept very little hours there.And his father passed away at the age of 68 from a heart condition.So it actually did run his family.So it's very difficult to know.If you look at the preliminary medical reports, they basically say that he did have a ruptured aorta, that this was standard underlying cardiovascular disease, just the wear and tear of living the life that he led and eating and drinking as he ate, not taking care of your body, et cetera, et cetera.On the other hand, again, I will say that I have some people in my orbit, Rita, who are not necessarily typically prone to conspiratorial thinking, who are saying, you know what?

They should look into this, because Russia has done this.He just got back from Ukraine.The pieces really do match up.I will tell you, I had a conversation today with one of my go -to sources at the White House.And from what I can tell, the White House is not going down that path.They think that this actually was just a horrifically timed heart attack.

But listen, we live in a day and age where I think people have a lot of, at times, quite reasonable questions.as to the narratives that they're told from elites and authorities.And me personally, Rita, I'm an Occam's razor kind of guy.I'm not necessarily prone to conspiratorial thinking.In fact, I have at times been the victim of conspiratorial thinking in the past.But what I will say is that this is quite a coincidence.

And if nothing else, I would like to see a more detailed toxicology report than we typically normally see in a situation like this.I think that's the bare minimum of the American people.should hope for and indeed what they deserve.

maybe in the sevens.And he called and he said, we're all set for the Save America Act.He was pushing the Save America Act like crazy.He got back, said he just landed from Ukraine.I said, that's a long trip to make.He said, he sounded a little tired, but perfect, but a little bit tired.

It could have been his last call.I don't know exactly, but I got a message about one o 'clock in the morning from one of the people in his office that he had passed away.I said, you guys, I just can't believe it.He was like a member of the family to me.It's very tough, actually.It's amazing.

Like a member of the family.Josh, Lindsey Graham was seeking another term in the Senate in the midterms.What are the Republicans going to do there?They'd be scrambling to find a replacement, I'd imagine.

So the process in South Carolina, if I understand it, Rita, is going to be a runoff on August 11th.based on the party's own internal rules.So that's coming up in just about a month.It's essentially going to be a mad dash until then.I will say that you've had some South Carolina Republicans who opportunistically have decided to try to get in before the body is even, before it's even cold yet, frankly, while the body is still warm.I saw Nancy Mace of South Carolina, who most recently just finished fifth in her gubernatorial primary there in the Palmetto State.

She tweeted out this gif of Al Pacino in The Godfather Part 3.Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in, which is kind of funny because there's literally no one trying to pull Nancy Mace into this race again.She just finished fifth place in a gubernatorial primary.More generally, I think a lot of House Republicans are trying to tell Henry McMaster, who's the Republican governor of South Carolina, they're telling him, do not pick a South Carolina House Republican for this seat on an interim basis, because the margin for Mike Johnson as the House Speaker is so small, they don't want to lose another congressman at all, potentially, to a permanent seat there.So Trump teased, I believe it was on that same Meet the President interview that we just saw with Kristen Welker.I think Trump teased the fact that he has someone in mind for the seat.

I'm not entirely sure who it is.South Carolina is a very red state, very long, rich history, one of the original 13 colonies, going back to the American Revolution a quarter of a millennium ago.So there's no shortage of capable conservatives who could fill that seat.The irony, Rita, is that for many, many, many years, In fact, in my earlier adulthood, I was one of the ones pushing for it.Many of us actually wanted to get a primary challenge to Lindsey Graham, because again, Lindsey Graham is not necessarily a Mac Republican.He very much was an old school throwback there.

So this could potentially have, I don't want to say a happy ending, because it's a horrific, horrific tragedy, but you could potentially get a more conservative replacement there.On the other hand, there's also a lot of Boeing money, a lot of Qatar investments.South Carolina is a very complicated state.So you could get a more problematic person as well.It could really go in one of multiple directions there.It'll be fascinating to see who Donald Trump has in mind.

Josh, you're right.Lindsey Graham was a polarizing figure even amongst Republicans.But one of his great moments came when he stood up to the crazy, ugly tactics of Democrats who were smearing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

If you wanted an FBI investigation, you could have come to us.What you want to do is destroy this guy's life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020.You've said that, not me.You've got nothing to apologize for.When you see Sotomayor and Kagan, tell them that Lindsey said hello, because I voted for them.I would never do to them what you've done to this guy.

This is the most unethical sham since I've been in politics.And if you really wanted to know the truth, you sure as hell wouldn't have done what you've done to this guy.Are you a gang rapist?No.I cannot imagine what you and your family have gone through.Boy, y 'all want power.

God, I hope you never get it.I hope the American people can see through this sham.

Such a disgraceful period in American politics, Josh, and Lindsey Graham was one of the strongest voices against that baseless smear campaign that was being run against Brett Kavanaugh.

Peter, this was one of the most foundational moments in my political lifetime, actually.I remember, like it was yesterday, September 2018.It was the year that I was clerking on the Federal Court of Appeals myself.I remember watching this hearing, frankly, like it was yesterday.And Lindsey Graham, we called him Lindsey 2 .0 at the time, because where was this guy?I mean, formerly, Lindsey Graham was the amnesty guy.

He was the guy who was teaming up with John McCain and Chuck Schumer to try to pass the Gang of Eight amnesty bill back in 2013.He was the establishment.And then he came out swinging and swingingand swinging.That was a viral moment.It was one of maybe the single greatest moments of Lindsey Graham's career.

U .S.Senate career, and it did a lot, frankly, to rile up the passions and emotions during that very contentious week to try to ensure that Brett Kavanaugh did indeed end up on the U .S.Supreme Court.It was Lindsey Graham at his absolute best, a man who was not always a bare -knuckle brawler, but when the stakes were high, he came to play, and he ultimately knew what was right for South Carolina and right for his country.

Now, let's talk about Iran.U .S.officials are warning that there will be a bigger wave of attacks on Iranian military sites targeting missile and drone bases.And meanwhile, we've got Iran's top negotiator, Mohammad Bakar Khalibaf, posting this on X. He wrote, the era of one sided deals is over.We told you keep your word or pay the price.

Reality is knocking.Very dramatic, Josh.What can we expect next in this conflict?And do you agree with those who are arguing that the Iranian regime is now being strengthened by this conflict?

Well, I'm not sure it's been strengthened.The Ayatollah Khomeini has been taken out and many of the other top leaders have been taken out.I will say, Rita, that I've been publicly critical of the way that some of this has gone on over the past few months.I do think that President Trump called a premature ceasefire on April 8th.When you, in my estimation, when you have your foot on the throat of the opposition, you should go ahead and try to finish the job, not try to essentially beg for some sort of ceasefire.The good news is that the United States is now going back in.

We've been hitting them very hard over the past week.As far as where it goes from here, I would be lying to you if I said I had any idea.Frankly, I'm not entirely sure, Rita, if President Trump knows exactly where this is gonna go from here.I feel a little bad for Donald Trump because I think Donald Trump desperately wants this to be over.He really, really, really wants to go into Novemberfocus on the economy, focus on the home front.

I don't blame him at all.I totally get it.The economy, inflation, these are the top issues on most American voters' minds.But the problem is that this regime is, they are who they are.Okay, they are weakened, but they're still there.And they're fundamentally fighting not on a rational basis, because they are not rational actors.

They are acting out, they're lashing out for ideological ends.And something great is gonna have to happen.I've said for months and months now, Rita, that the easiest way to finish a job is to go in there really quick, really hard, to finish the job on your own terms, and then get the heck out, rip the bandaid off.This constant back and forth is not doing anyone any good.any favors, and it's frankly not going to help Republicans this fall.I think the best way to handle it at this point is to go in hard, go in quick, and finish this darn job.

Are you suggesting they send ground troops in to finish the job?

I don't think ground troops are necessary, but there are four key goals in my arena that I've been saying personally in my capacity.I think that they are one, A free and open strait of war moves, two, an end to the regime's funding of the regional proxies, three, an end to the ballistic missile threat, and four, some sort of resolution to the nuclear issue could be as simple as ferreting it out of the country under armed supervision.I don't think that you necessarily need ground treats for that, but I'm still waiting to this day for the administration to lay out a very clear articulation as to what the exact goals are.I think you need to start there and then work your way backwards to calibrate the means, because I'm not sure we've heard that exact clear delineation of goals as I just defined them.
