LIVE: Hunger. Living in Parking Lots. The Cost of Carney’s Recession.

Thank you very much for being here today.Canadians deserve a Prime Minister who will make life affordable so that Canadians can fill their grocery carts, fill their fridges, fill their stomachs without emptying their bank accounts.where their paychecks go further, where they can pay off their rent and start lives.That's exactly what this Liberal Prime Minister promised.He claimed that he was going to reverse everything that he had said and done in the prior 10 years, that he would reverse everything his party had done.Well, here we are a year and a half later and it's not that he's the same as Justin Trudeau, it's that he's far worse.

The economic situation is far worse today and more costly under Carney than it was under Trudeau.Today we got some terrible news from United Way.Financial anxiety has surged across Canada with a six -month spike as more people struggle to keep up with basic costs.Two in five people in Canada are struggling to put food on the table.Forty percent are losing sleep wondering how they'll stretch their paycheck.The number of people gripped with anxiety when thinking about personal finances has surged 60 % at five points in just six months.

The story behind the data is people having to make difficult choices, losing sleep over bills, increased family stress, struggling to focus on work or going without food.And I quote from Dan Clement, this is not a crisis on the horizon.He says it is happening now in communities across the country.38 % of Canadians struggle with food insecurity.after a year of Kearney and one in five report that all the food in their home was eaten with no money to buy more.Mr. Kearney, do you know what that is like when somebody opens their fridge and finds it empty and then checks their bank account app and finds that there's no money to buy more food and then they find out that they're losing

food bank is among the 20 % that literally ran out of food, what do you do then?The data reveals, and I'm quoting here, financial stress, but also the speed at which it is intensifying, compared to polling data in 2025.The number of people in Canada who report they could cover basic expenses for only one month or less before falling into debt increased by four points to 46%, almost half of Canadians, Mr. Carney, after a year of your leadership.34 % know someone close to them who has experienced poverty up five points.and it's getting worse.This is the human cost of Mark Carney's Liberal recession.

There are 20 countries in the group of 20, the G20.20.19 of them are not in recession.One is, and that is after one year of Mark Carney as Prime Minister.This is consistent with his track record of leaving a trail of tears wherever he goes.He went to the United Kingdom where he was a disaster.

He caused an economic Meltdown in that country caused the housing crisis, caused the worst inflation in the G7.And then, of course, he left to become a corporate power broker, where he took government handouts from working class taxpayers for green scams and then put the money in offshore tax havens, always making others pay for his mistakes.And they are paying.Just two days ago, CTV News reported more people living out of carpool lots.As people struggle to make ends meet due to the rising cost of living, some people are now finding refuge in short -term parking lots.They're living in RVs, Mr. Kearney, in parking lots at Walmarts and other public places.

A CTV reporter counted 10 to 20 trailers at one carpool lot.because people cannot afford homes.So my message to Mr. Carney is you've put our country in recession.You're the only leader in the G20 who's done that.You can't blame the rest of the world when the other 19 countries are not in recession.Show up to the House of Commons today.

I challenge Mark Carney to debate me on this United Way report.on the number of people who cannot afford to eat.Debate me on it today in the House of Commons and tell Canadians what you're going to do to reverse the recession you caused and the cost of living crisis you caused.Your job is to be accountable to the Canadian people.It's been well over a year since you made these grandiose promises and the exact opposite is coming true.You're in Ottawa today, Mr. Carney.

Canadians can't afford their bills.Get into the House of Commons and explain to them today at 2 .15 what you're going to do to reverse the damage you've done.Canadians deserve a country that is affordable at home, safe at home, strong at home, and growing at home.For any of those things to happen at home, you, Mr. Carney, need to get into the House.Thank you.We'll have to see.

What do you propose to have done with that?

Yes, that's a very good question.So, there are a lot of solutions.One, let's get rid of the industrial carbon tax, which drives up the cost of farm equipment, fertilizer, food processing.Let's cut the Liberal deficit.You bring down the deficit, then we won't have these inflationary money printing bouts that drive up the cost of living.Let's take all taxes off gas to save Canadians 25 cents a litre.

$20 of fill -up and $1 ,200 by Christmas, all money that could go back in their pockets.Let's unblock our resources so that our Canadian workers have bigger paycheques with which to buy food and we have a stronger dollar that goes further.That's how we're going to make Canada more affordable at home and our paycheques bigger at home.I have to get to caucus, so I'm going to take one more question then.

Yes.What would your party like to see in that legislation being taken today?

So we believe that there should be an outright ban on an unconsensual image use of unconsensual images.So, for example, if somebody is depicted in an AI video doing sexual acts without their consent, then that should be a crime and the person who does that should be charged.We should also have tougher penalties and better tools to lock up online predators who target children through manipulative and predatory activities.They should be locked up in prison.And those are among, there should be more tools for parents to keep their kids off of dangerous websites that are particularly designed for predators.that harm our children.

I have a question on this issue.

Do you think that tools for parents would be an age from which it would be prohibited?

Thank you very much.So, we think that there should be more penalties for predators that target children.We also believe that parents should have tools to ban their children from using certain sites that are dangerous for these children.and we believe that police officers should have more tools to catch predators that target children on the Internet.Finally, images used without consent for pornography and especially with artificial intelligence and fake videos should be prohibited.Those who do this should go to prison.
