That was Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder, one of the richest men in the world.And almost immediately, New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani responded on X with this.I know a few teachers in Queens who would beg to differ.Bezos says politicians are using billionaires as villains instead of actually solving the country's real economic problems.Mamdani, though, has built his political brand around taxing the rich.Well, today we're taxing him.

On tax day, he posted a viral video outside the home of billionaire Ken Griffin.Like for this penthouse.Singling out his $238 million Manhattan penthouse as an example for a new tax on luxury second homes.Griffin fired back, accusing Mamdani of putting him in harm's way and threatened to rethink plans for a new office tower in Manhattan.Bezos defended Griffin in the interview, saying he's not hurting New York.But Bezos did say he's fine with New York's tax on high -end second homes.

All of this as the fight over increasing taxes on billionaires becomes one of the biggest political battles in America.
