This really irks them down there.And this worked perfectly for Carney because that's, well, what they wanted to do, right?Just to piss them off down there.And it's worked.currently being challenged by several companies at a federal court of appeal.More recently, Canada's broadcasting regulator upped the threshold to 15%, which would generate an estimated $2 billion into the Canadian media ecosystem each year.

Like come on, they're just going to increase the price on Canadians.That's all this is.It's going to be another tax on Canadians.Carney wanted to irk the Americans, but now it's gone too far because they're taking them to court and this is going to be bad PR.So now what's he doing?He's conceding.

Last month, Mark Miller asked the commission to review the decision, citing concerns that streamers could raise subscription fees and promise to issue new policy directions rooted in affordability and consumer choice.Miller also introduced $600 million in new new funding tonobody watches.In effect, removing the base contribution threshold would absolve streamers from certain financial obligations to Canada's media industry, marking a stark contrast from the policy approach adopted by Justin Trudeau's government, which introduced the Online Streaming Act in 2022.After publication, Miller's office confirmed streamers will still be required to reinvest an unspecified portion of revenues under yet -to -be -released policy directives in alignment with the Online Streaming Act.getting rid of this.

They're just making it so Canadian taxpayers have to pay for it, but they're not getting rid of the Online Streaming Act.You can't make up this level of stupidity.Look at this.here, they'll still have to reinvest into Canadian media.It's not clear how Liberals can remove the base contribution requirements without repealing the Online Streaming Act.Considering the CRTC is an independent regulator, government policy directions while binding for the CRTC traditionally focus on high -level matters as opposed to specific regulations.

Well, this just goes to show that the government calls the shots.However deep they want to go in the CRTC, they're just going to call the shots.That's what this is really pointing out here.consultations before being finalized.the taxes on it.They're just going to keep jacking up the price of everything like they always do.

But man, oh man, is it disappointing as a Canadian who believes in the country.

The fact that she cares about what citizens want and it's her voting base, it's conservatives who are frustrated with the country.Corey Tanek is trying to thread the needle of being this guy who's friendly to the left, but then he's the true voice of reason or his campaign.Whoever he picks next is likely to be Jason Kenney to try to take Pierre Poliev's job.These guys are working so hard on this and they're failing miserably.He tried it with Caroline Elliott.How'd that work out, Corey?

The driver was issued of a fine of about $1 ,600 and his license was taken away for a week, which perhaps is nota long time when you stop to think about it.

A week.They took away his license for a week.If someone had crashed into that, that whole thing could have exploded and he gets his license taken away for a week.How about five years?How about if this person is new to Canada, they get deported?I have a hard time believing this is going to be a longtime Canadian truck driver that did this.

It's just not going to be the case.Canadians are not this dumb.They're not going to throw away their career for something stupid like this.We got another one here.Here's a truck driver getting stuck in a median like going around a roundabout getting stuck in the middle.That's right, the roundabout should not be movable.

How about this sign here that's been completely flattened by the truck?Just take this guy's license away, charge him, fine him $50 ,000 and then deport him.Problem solved.It's never their fault.No, it never is.That's why it keeps happening.
