Morning chums, welcome back and as ever thank you so much for taking the time out to join me today and welcome to another episode of Buy Royal Appointment.Hope you're keeping well.Don't need to say where we are am I?This is where I'm filming it today.I like to share these things with you obviously.I don't know if I've mentioned this to you before chums but it's slightly indelicate here because there's very few facilities.

0:22

It's alright for the likes of Larry the cat.Yes, Larry the famous Downing Street cat.I mean he can go wherever he wants can't he?I think he frequently does by the way.over around here. But the thing is, it can be a little indelicate here in Downing Street, but of course, it's one of the most famous places in the world.

0:40

And I'm privileged to be able to say that I report from here on a regular basis. And as I've often said, you know, Chums, what's interesting, you stand here on a very quiet day like today and you can't really begin to think exactly just what's gone on even the recent sort of brand new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham you think oh right you know this is all right okay and then you come back in a couple of days later the cameras the lights all the big stages are taken away and it's just This, and this is life, isn't it?It just moves on.You think of the greats, the Anthony Edens, the Churchills, you know, even the latter day Mrs Thatcher and stuff like that, all happened through that door.Incredible to think. As I say, thank you for joining me.

1:22

I've got lots to share on this by Royal Appointment this week, so we need to get cracking on, including this particular story, because as we know, Harry and Meghan reappeared up in Ulthorpe last month.Everything just seems so instantly old, doesn't it?You know what I mean, chums, when you look at it like that.July, what happened there, you know? And as I say, this was the big thing, really, for Harry and Meghan to make their UK return. And as I told you on our show first, Meghan Markle thought that this was going to be the return.

1:53

You know, she did not realise exactly what the King had in mind.Harry knew, and this is from my experience, and the source that I know, that Harry did know that this wasn't going to be the glorious reunion publicity -wise.The idea for Harry really was that he wanted to get behind the event of the Invictus Games and hopefully try and secure something that he could go back to Invictus and say the King has agreed that he will either open it or you know do a video etc.Now I genuinely and if anybody else tells you this nobody knows I've spoken to Invictus and they have no idea if there's going to be any Royal Association attached to this event which would be a shame but it's a thing that's happened that really there's nothing people can do anything about, is there? It's all been brought on by these two individuals.

2:44

Now, as we all know, Meghan Markle decided to keep a low profile of sorts when she was over here in the United Kingdom because she had to under the stipulation and orders of His Majesty the King.He didn't want to be seen as some walkover, some soft touch, so there was no public declaration of all kissed and made up, everybody's happy.William and Catherine were cutting the lemon drizzle in the sitting room of Highgrove. No, no, nothing like that, you know, because that's really what it wasn't.It was really a chance, 47 minutes, as I keep telling you, to catch up.And that really wasn't a lot.

3:20

But Harry figured that by bringing over his children, that this would be, you know, the great thing, as it were, that this would be the lure. Now, as I've often said, part of the problem is that it's not enough now, the children don't know him and he doesn't know them and there's a lot of speculation behind the scenes as to whether Harry and Meghan would get a now late invite over to Balmoral.Well they've sort of done the Scottish retreat thing because we kind of know that don't they when they went to see the billionaire. What's more interesting though is the development of this particular, shall we say, relationship. As ever, let me explain.

3:59

Harry and Meghan decided to make something of it by going, of course, to Ulthorpe. And this is the ancestral family home of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. And it's an interesting thing because I don't know if many of you know, I got to know Diana's stepmother as well, Raine Spencer, because I was working at the time for Harrods under Mohamed Al Fayyad. He had a radio station at the time as well, and she would work in the store and sometimes come over to the studio and you know. She was kind of like a live wire, you know, would be the thing that you might say, you know, people sort of laughed at her for the mountainous hair and everything. But being the daughter of Dame Barbara Cartland, what else would you expect?

4:42

As I've often said, you know, on our show, I share the memories that I have with you, the people, the movies and the shakers that I have truly sat and met and, you know, talked to at length, not through third parties.Hence the reason I knew very well Dodie Alfile.Of course, many suggest the last paramour of Harry's mother and William's mother. That wasn't always the case, in my opinion.Dodie was very talkative, smelt lovely, let me tell you, girls, and looked every inch the playboy that you might suspect he was. What was interesting, though, meeting these people at that particular time, was you got to know lots and lots of different things about Diana, about, of course, the life that she was leading, and more importantly, how she fitted in in that particular bracket.

5:29

Now, of course, Earl Spencer, who I've also been lucky enough to meet, and he's, in my opinion, a very charming man.You know, when you go to visit Ulthorpe, it's interesting, not just because of the Diana aspect, which is fascinating, you know, because you're looking at this and realising that this lady did come from a very privileged family.aristocratic background, you know, not the story that we were sort of sold. You know, we forget, of course, that Charles also dated one of Diana's sisters and the sort of lineage goes back far deeper, far, far deeper. Now, Harry and Meghan decided that they wanted naturally for his children to go and visit the final resting place of Diana.I'm not knocking him for that.

6:14

It must be very hard and the memories for him and William are always raw for anybody that's going through personal grief.Meghan Markle, though, as you can imagine, the last time she was there, allegedly threw herself on the stone and said that she was looking for guidance. And when Harry came back, there she was looking for guidance.Right.What's interesting about this particular story is, though, according to an excellent source, Meghan is now super charmed her way into a brand new relationship. You see, Earl Spencer has a new wife called Cat, Catherine.

6:46

Catherine, Countess Catherine, right? And recently on Instagram she was sharing a brand new addition to the family, a brand new dog alongside another dog called Freya.According to my excellent source, Megan and Catherine, Kat, got on incredibly well and were able to talk at considerable length about what they're going through and their lives. Now, I'm not knocking either side at this point because ultimately nobody knows what goes down in private conversations. All I can tell you is that a new, tight, fast relationship has developed. Now, many might speculate this is the normal Markle operative, you know.

7:25

You see people in a position For instance, somebody like Jessica Mulrooney, and when Markle was a struggling actress, starting out and wanting to find a brand new direction, Jessica was able to introduce her to the various others, and likewise, you might say, Serena Williams. Now, according to Markle, these people have remained long -term, long -standing friends.Right now, though, of course, all eyes will be developing on this particular brand -new friendship, because this is, in many respects, a new idea, shall we say, and a new relationship.association for both Meghan and Harry, and I'm not knocking him for wanting to make a connection on that level. You understand from a personal thing.Of course, many people will now be very speculative about this new fast friendship between the two, which according to my excellent sources, seen packages arriving.

8:16

We can only assume, of course, jams, candles and the usual like.Either way, remember, you heard about this first on our show. Can I just also point out, Chums, that there's another story sort of circulating right now regarding the former royal known as Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, simply now Andrew Mountbatten -Wenzer, as we all know. And this is a story basically all about how His Majesty the King has now decided to allow him to come and stay up in Balmoral during the summer break. This is the annual summer break that the royals always take.I don't know about you, but I've often wondered this, whether the royals actually do want to go to Balmoral.

8:56

in the Victorian era they had to stay for the duration, I don't know if you know this, so when people went up there they were expected to stay for as long as the Queen was in residence because she might want to be entertained. It's incredible when you think, so can you imagine if you were not a fan of say that particular area and I don't know why because it is wonderful I have to be honest.I do like Balmoral, I do like that area, it's very refreshing, people are incredibly friendly and yeah I have to be honest the short bed's lovely, you know there's always a lure isn't there. But you know what I mean. But what's interesting is they had to stay. Now, I just wanted to clear this story because this, as I often say here on our show, Chums, is the point of by royal appointment.

9:36

We clear things up, you know, so that whatever people want to decide,on each individual story, they can make their own decision. The background to this story is simply this, that Andrew indeed, right, has been invited up.He will not be staying in the main house, but a small cottage that used to be used by Sarah Ferguson when she was up there at Christmas and wasn't allowed to stay in the big house, all thanks, of course, to the Duke of Edinburgh, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, right?Just to clear that up, The reason why the King wants Andrew to come up is so that he can see other siblings, other family members, have a bit of an escape from where he's living right now.But this will only happen once His Majesty the King has left the property.

10:19

Now, a lot of people are asking, well, what's that about? Why is he not going to be there to support him?Well, he can't be because, as I keep saying, the ongoing investigation regarding Andrew, the Thames Valley Police and the British Metropolitan Police. He couldn't be seen having a conversation wandering the Highlands, whatever. Not at this moment. Now, why does it not affect the others?

10:40

Well, it doesn't.It can only affect, of course, the monarch, which is King Charles. So yes, if you see stories or see pictures or hear of Andrew knocking around Balmoral, that's the real reason why.But not while the King's in residence. And I would suspect not where other senior royals are also in residence too.Always happy to clear that particular avenue up.

I have to be honest, Chums, when I first saw this particular picture, this is of course the photographer, very good photographer, in fact, Jake Rosenberg, with Meghan Markle clutched all over him.You do kind of think, hmm, if that was my wife, how would I feel? But of course, Meghan is very good at showing affection, isn't she, to the people around her, particularly like, say, Marcus Anderson. She loves to pose, and this is a good picture.People can knock it for all it is, but it's a brilliantly executed picture.if you con it.

11:33

Now of course, Jake Rowan.is one of those people that is very much inside the camp of Meghan and Harry. Not everybody's so lucky. You know, if you remember, of course, the makeup artist Daniel, well, he made that faux pas of wanting to put some problems or situations online following Markle's, what shall we call it, arrival in Paris at that fashion show. And he basically just innocently said, these are the products that I've used. She went absolutely absolutely potty after this, just couldn't believe it.

12:04

You're right. And this would we could only surmise is down to the fact that was he making money on the back of this? Was he linking things to the product?Who knows?Whatever. But we see this time and time again with Megan.

12:16

Do not forget her so -called good friend, Patrick J. Adams, right? He made the faux pas of just putting up some pictures of Megan around casually on the set.She went potty on this. And this is simply because, again, she doesn't want people to do anything that she doesn't sign off first. So make no mistake, when you saw that video of Meghan and Harry dancing together all out of whatever, that wasn't just the first attempt.Likewise, the recent birthday thing, that was not the first attempt.

12:47

But again, I'm not particularly knocking that chum, simply because if that's the way that you want to be and you want to make yourself look the best, why not?But what's interesting is that when they came over to the United Kingdom, Meghan and Harry were armed with these particular very special pictures that they wanted not just to give to His Majesty the King and Camilla, our Queen Consort, but also to the Prince and Princess of Wales.Let me explain a little bit.As you can imagine, at this particular point, they both know that Ultimately, this is a make or break meeting. And contrary to what people were saying, you know, about Sir Clive Alderton and all of this, everybody knows what the King's doing.

13:27

You know, they want to whip this up into a no, no, no.

13:30

you know, Harry's got rid of the wasp and Sir Clive and all this. That's rubbish. You know, it's not really what's going on behind the scenes. But what is interesting is the way that obviously Harry wants some validation, and particularly, I would say, from his elder brother. This has been the problem, I would surmise, throughout their lives. You know, when you think about really, Harry gave away a lot of his own personal feelings about how William looks like, mother, but doesn't now and all of it, you know, he really was letting a lot through.

13:59

Part of the things that I enjoy seeing are people who do body language experts.I know quite a few that work for the Metropolitan Police and they tell me exactly what you can pick up on by just looking at eyes, arms and hands and all sorts of twitches and niches that they all right.Yeah.And so you can really work out exactly what the person's truly thinking. Now, the problem was, of course, that while the king and the queen, no doubt, happily were happy to have this.Headlines now are spinning a bit like this.

14:27

Apparently, Queen Camilla was embracing Harry and Meghan into the point where this was going to cause a rift with William and Catherine. Now, I don't know how to get this into people, but, you know, Camilla and Catherine get on incredibly well. She would have not been invited to take the pictures, the official pictures, for the Queen's 75th birthday for the very esteemed glossy mag, Country Life. And, you know, Camilla literally said That's the person I want to take the pictures. So, you know, she really batted out for her and she got them.Catherine took these terrific pictures for Country Life.

15:03

William gets on incredibly well with Camilla. Now, for all of those that might say, well, why would he?You know, his late mother, etc.William is mature enough to know that life has to move on whether you like it or not.And this is exactly where he sees in life. He's just far more mature.

15:21

One might say that he grasped it a lot quicker and understood that you know.things do change in life, right? Now, to say that Camilla was instrumental in trying to patch things up with His Majesty the King and Harry, all she was there for, and I can tell you this for a fact, was had his insistence, the King's insistence, right? He wanted somebody there.Remember, this is a man still going through treatment and really, you have to say, it must be quite daunting even meeting your own own son who's done so many bad things towards you, it doesn't matter that you're the king, you stand in opposite somebody that you probably want to throttle, but you can't, right? And I say that in the nicest way, in a northern way, there's a phrase that we might say, right?

16:03

You just sort of like, I'm so angry, but you can't, right? You have to let them have their way. Now, Charles, as we know, many people say he's weak and soft.I would say he wants to see the good in people. What was interesting was that these particular pictures taken, I think beautifully, by Jake Rosenberg were presented in frames.Likewise, there was a separate batch also ready to be presented to William and Catherine.

16:28

And as we know, William and Catherine did not want to go to the meeting. And I genuinely don't know if this was applicable to Catherine.I would say that she has a more I don't know how to phrase it really, but she has a more forgiving nature. And I think what she's gone through and what she said to my sources is that her whole life, the way she thinks about everything has changed.I think that's why we saw her doing the three peaks thing. And I don't mean that's the only reason, but she's doing things now that she's now more grateful for in life.

17:01

So perhaps what was a big annoyance before, she lets things glide over her because she doesn't want the stress, she doesn't want the strain. But I know she's angry with Harry.I know that for a fact because of the upset in the herd and the anguish and the pressure that she's put upon Prince William. What's interesting here though is that these particular pictures and in frames have never been collected and have not been sent on and apparently Harry was very keen whether he could either present them himself, which was a definite no -no because William's not having it, or indeed if he could find out if the pictures were ever received or indeed picked up.At this particular point, it's simply no.So for him, very tricky times.

17:53

As, of course, for Catherine and William, they're just moving on with their lives. And really, I would surmise that actually Prince Harry was hoping that this might be a point of where William, being a father of three himself, might have either sent a word saying, very nice pictures, etc.William is not budging on this. You know, while the King has more of an investment in it and wants to try and make some kind of amends, you know, for his own legacy, whatever you want to call it, you know, he doesn't want to be seen as the bad apple.William very George believes that Harry has made irreparable damage to the monarchy, something that he, alongside his eldest son, Prince George, will eventually have to sweep up.A couple of pictures and a few sorries is not going to cut it.

18:36

Harry now found that out the hard way.

18:40

As I've pointed out on our show chums on a number of occasions, right now Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have a problem and it's all really about one thing. It's deflecting away against everything that's going on in their lives because obviously if you think about it, a couple of years back they wouldn't need to do this. They could just bat off the story because they had so many things going for them. You know, Meghan this week alone has been trying to push hard the Cookie Queen's documentary. We know it's the summer break and I get all of that and I'm not knocking the documentary.

19:10

I'm sure there's some sweetness in there, but the fact that you know when she was interviewed by those people.it wasn't exactly Bill does the executive producer.

It was all Duchess of Sussex. You know, this is the thing she's she's now got to this point where she's realized that, actually, this is the power. You know, this is the thing.I need this.I've often said this, you know, and this is just my personal thoughts, but I don't think she's very bright business wise because anybody else would have known.I mean, when she sat down with Oprah and said, oh, you know, titles mean nothing you think maybe not but a title means a lot in this world you know if you can be introduced as lord or you know sir or something it really does mean a lot and particularly over here in england you know i've been in hotels where somebody's announced themselves as the you know baronet or whatever and you think all right interesting and then of course you know they get an upgrade or they're treated totally differently so for megan to just dismiss it at the beginning was that really a tactical move or or did she genuinely mean that or you know whatever but it does seem odd and it's a little bit like now what they're doing as I said you know people don't want to believe that there's a tactical move behind this because things are literally imploding and we're not really just talking about Harry you know I mean Harry's case alone with the Daily Mail is a disaster But the problem that you have, the bigger disaster, is the fact that, well, it's about the money, obviously, but it's about their standing in the world of Hollywood.

20:38

How does that look? You know, because it just doesn't look good.Nothing's worked. And part of the other problem that you have is if you look at her branding.I mean, you can see that she's wishy -washy.I mean, we were told a while back that she had four power big investors behind her.

20:54

Remember that?Well, where are these people? And if they're so powerful and they're so pushy, and so good at it well why aren't they now pushing and powerful you get the picture chance and i'm not knocking her i'm just saying you've got to back this stuff up and i think thisjust looks bad on every level. It's like this latest birthday video, right? What's interesting about the birthday video is the fact that nothing with Meghan and Harry can be what it seems.

21:21

Now, what's interesting, as I said, I think they have so many... they have quite a few freelance staff, in fact.coming in because freelance of course is more cost -effective you can negotiate a rate they come from an agency and they basically do not get into the house they work outside you know what I'm saying and these are the things that people do not know and what's interesting about when you're there sometimes Harry will discuss things with you because I would essentially say this is my opinion that he's bored and I think you know he's looking for sort of companionship you've got your two dogs you've got your kids but there's not much else going wrong is that you don't see many friends knocking around, and you might say, well, you know, you must have.Well, look, if you have to contact a podcaster to say, can I be on your podcast?Ultimately, shouldn't you be fielding off those offers as a prince of the realm? You know what I'm saying? This, though, took three goes.

22:15

The original go of this wasn't exactly the pot and plan. You see, this is Markle just dancing around the kitchen with a very pointed message on her T -shirt about, you know, giving Mrs. whatever, you know, And then everybody's pointed out that it's a target. What is it called?Tiara thing stuck on her head.Oh, it's the only tiara.Yeah, exactly what she wants you to say.

22:37

You know, this is what I mean. She's driving those stories. She watches everything. The team watch everything. They look at social media. And the bottom line is they're looking into everything to see how does it work and what does it do?

22:49

Does it connect?Does it react? You know, the sort of thing. The idea originally, though, and the reason why this didn't work was because it was seen as too too much similar to the recent anniversary video.Remember when Harry came mincing in with the cake and all of that sort of stuff. And you get that.

23:05

penguin because they mate him for life. The idea really was to come up with a cake but apparently Markle poo -pooed this idea for the simple reason and I kind of understand this right and I'm not an ambassador before you say I'm just saying I understand this right. The reason I would suggest is that and you know kind of get it all the candles 45.What do you do?Do you put one on?People will mock it.

23:29

So if there's no birthday cake, you can't mock it, can you?You can't say, oh, you know.So ultimately, they went down that guided thing, because previously, if you remember, when she featured her very first, I think, or maybe second video on Instagram, it featured a former pet, which was very sad, you know, and we all love pets. And that was really big.The only thing bigger than that for Markle was the now infamous baby mama dance. And the idea really was that Harry, as a said on this latest video was to sort of come in and wish her a happy birthday and all of that not quite sure what the oh dear thing was about there's lots of speculation about it's not his voice it certainly is his voice and apparently there was going to be a small celebration but that fizzled out because apparently according to my source Harry's mood is very much up and down and I would surmise again and I can only tell you what I find out I mean every day he's going to be getting updates on you know certain things regarding the Daily Mail case so I would surmise that he's just maybe gets up feels all right and then gets messages from you know who you know, David Sherborne, and then thinks, oh, no.

24:38

And so, you know, I think that they're both personally going through a very dark time, that she just wants to portray this particular image. Not knocking her for that, not taking sides, I'm just saying that was the idea. And behind it, that's the real reason why there's no cake.Ultimately, it was meant to be a fun thing, focusing on the dogs in hats, and so nobody could pick it apart. But they know, and you know, that's never going to happen, right? On a cheerier note, it's always nice to look at other royal stories from moment to moment, isn't it?

25:10

And this one caught my eye, which I wanted to share with you, because again, it just shows really how forward thinking certain people are inside the monarchy. We're talking, of course, about the late Duke of Edinburgh, His Royal Highness Prince Philip. And as I said, many of you know, I was a big fan of Philip.I was lucky enough to meet him.He said what he thought, very direct.I mean, you know, quite frightening, really.

25:33

I quite liked him, you know, because you thought, oh, he's only a You know, I thought the Queen and Philip were really a very strong match made together because she was the sort of person that, you know, she was the Queen, but I think she really did veer towards Philip and his decisions.

25:49

A little bit like Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, when you look into the history a little bit more, you know, she may have the title, but I think he really, behind the scenes, did a lot.His sort of problem, you might say, was none other than the Queen's mother.Nice sweet woman, but ultimately, And apparently, you know, also had a very firm decisions on what she wanted for the monarchy and wasn't afraid to say it.But this story, as I say, was from a royal communications officer way back in the 90s.And we forget just how, you know, things start, don't we?You know, the Internet was starting off.

26:23

I was working in the record industry at the time, and this was how all this great new way of, you know, marketing records and everything. And I thought, really? But of course, we don't know, do we?Apparently, way back in 1997, Philip was helping launch the Royal website, he could vision that this was going to be the way forward to independently promote the Royals. And people apparently went, no, no.But remember, this is a man who had the foresight to insist on BBC TV cameras coming in for the 1953 coronation of his wife.

26:55

Queen Elizabeth.Without him, we wouldn't have had that.Yes, he made a bit of a faux pas when you think about it with the 1969 The Royal Family documentary. But other things where he appeared being interviewed and on camera and encouraging sort of messages to get out there, definitely forward thinking. And ultimately, as the internet apparently progressed, Phillips said, you know, no, this is the safest tool for us because we can singly get our message out there. And it got me thinking, really, you know, when you look at it in the bigger picture, he's spot on as ever, because, well, quite frankly, Prince William and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, have really embraced the digital media.

27:33

And that's more or less how we consume their information and what they're doing.Philip, again, was just a little bit of way ahead of the game.Anybody else agree? This lady became incredibly famous, all thanks, of course, to Meghan Markle. And I don't just mean incredibly famous, I mean around the world.Poe, I think she's called, I think you're pronouncing that right, Neil, of course, is the host of MasterChef Australia.

27:59

We all know about that, right? And the reason why I say that is this is the thing about what people get out of this thing of having LaMarcle on board, right? This is what you get.You get, you know, publicity, publicity that you've never had before. And what's interesting when you look at this particular thing is, of course, the backlash with them was phenomenal, right?Oh, she fell out.

28:20

treated her, Po was in tears, whatever, you know, all this sort of stuff. And then they leave it a bit and then they come on board and do their version of events. Now, here's the thing where it's really tricky, because what you have to remember is now she's very hot, is what they say in the name of the game, not Markle, the MasterChef host, right? And so her agent will advise her that don't say anything negative, because, you know, we might be able to get you in MasterChef America, for instance, as a guest host or as a judge, or you see anmean how they're looking to expand. When you look at this particular interview she's being asked directly and the hosts are playing it up oh yeah dreadful the press she's smiling.

but the eyes are telling a different story. And I would surmise that, yes, there's certain escalations, you know, that some of the tabloids have come up with, the bigger stuff, the dramatic pictures, that sort of stuff. But as I told you, the banana bread thing or banana cake thing, Markle, not interested. It's a bit like the picture, as I said, with the girls weekend, not interested, doesn't want it, never seen again, will not be mentioned. That will be consigned to the 40 times 40 dustbin. You know what I'm saying, chums?

29:28

What's interesting there, you see, the reason why she's not saying anything is, as I say, something might come from this. And good luck to her, right? Her story will only change if there's no sort of ringing endorsement from Le Marcle or indeed that bigger break outside Australia doesn't come forward. She will have to ramp up the story.Suddenly the agent, the manager, the publicist, what was it like? When did she say anything?

29:54

When? And that's really how these sort of stories develop. Not knocking her, she seems a charming girl, very successful, doesn't really need it.But agents and managers will want you to capitalise on stuff like this behind the scenes. And that's exactly what she's doing. It's a bit like this lady, Amanda Wakeley, a famed designer.

30:14

And it's interesting, she gave an interview recently to Virgin Radio and she talked about her relationship with the late and beautiful Diana, Princess of Wales. And it was interesting because she talked about Diana coming along and being very easygoing and laid back. And I think at that point in her life, I would say probably Diana was, you know, she's kind of having a new life, a new resurgence, right? But the story goes that Diana used to turn up at this designer studio in Chelsea and just turn up unaccompanied sometimes.minutes early, all that sort of stuff. You know, absolute nonsense, right?

30:49

Now, I don't know if Amanda was aware of this, you know, whether she was aware of it or wasn't aware of it or whatever, but I know for a fact, because Ken Wolfe is a good friend of mine.He was the former protection officer for Diana, and he went everywhere with her.I mean, everywhere. And he told me so many things that, you know, I'm not allowed to say, but in the interest of research, we were sort of working out for a doco and we were just chatting away and he said that they have this thing where she did want to have this bit of freedom and this is pre mobiles remember chums you know now we just have a mobile and you could bring them and whatever but she had a very new modern age slimline walkie -talkie so she could say to ken i'm coming out in 10 minutes or you know i'm going to be another 15 minutes and he would know and he would have already done a recce you know a reconnaissance should i say and use the correct term neil before before she'd arrived, so he would know what way she would go in, what way she would come out.So again, I would say recollections may vary, Amanda, but true, honestly, there is no way that the most famous woman in the world could go trolling around Chelsea at 10 a .m.

31:58

in the morning and without any protection.Later on in life, we know that she did do this because she wanted the freedom and all thanks to Martin Bashir, her mind was filled with silly things. But at this point, she was still very much protected. And Ken has often said to me that things would never have been different if, of course, she'd never let go of her Met Police protection.Such a shame, isn't it, when you think about it?The people that support Markle and Harry around them, in my opinion, are brilliant in the PR stakes.

32:31

But as I've often said to you chums, and I genuinely mean this, it's very difficult when you're working with micro -celebrities who think they know better. You know, this is a problem. You know, you've had years of experience and you say, no, I wouldn't do that or just ignore it or, you know, don't get, but no.And as I've told you before, you see, Meghan Markle has umpteen social media accounts and they put out positives and they get people and all sorts of stuff.I mean, what's interesting about this stuff is the fact that they are really tied and they're tied, you see, because ultimately the paycheck comes from these people. So they don't want to argue with you in a sense, you know, because she has the final say, power.

33:10

And what's interesting talking to the person that's currently in situ, right, is that they kind of they just give in.And if I'm honest, because what can they do?And now the backlash, as you can understand, has started with the doying of, you know, cooking, entrepreneurial housewares, whatever you want to call it, across the United States of America with Martha Stewart. But what's interesting, as I told you recently, Prince Harry is always sent out to bat.You know, he's the one that Markle thinks he can do that. You'll notice that she never stands up for herself.

33:44

It's always this. And the reason, if you cast your mind back to those podcasts. It's her, you know, no man's ever loved me so much.No man, you know, he's always doing this.So she beefs up this thing and it's the knight in shining armor material that, oh, look, you know, I can't do this. You know, look at what they're doing to me.

34:01

Now, of course, Harry is now seeing this as an ignited flame and there's more coming.Trust me, as soon as I know more, I'll let you know. But she was advised, as I say, to zip it, move on, don't say anything. But she carefully crafted the line, which is, my opinion terrible because it just you could have just said maybe she misheard but to say the word confused maybe she got a bit confused is very much implying that somebody of a certain age oh you know they don't know what they're doing and as I told you you know very sharplyMartha Stewart, right? And now you've ignited this flame even worse.

34:39

What's interesting, though, and this is the thing, the team behind Markle couldn't believe the sort of savagery that came on with the support, not just on shows like this, but on mainstream. You know, lots of them have picked this story up because, of course, Martha Stewart is very famous. And so ultimately, this got a lot of traction. Not only that, putting a call into the team at Martha, the tractions go into her website.and all the things that was, you see what I mean? It's not going to Markle's.

35:08

Now, if it was, we'd have Markle waving flags going, sold out of jam, you know, that sort of stuff. Now, obviously, this always follows with these two. They're useless at, you know, doing what they do.And then they decide at the 11th hour, we better try, you know.So very soon you will find her sort of either doing a homage to Martha Stewart by cooking something in her kitchen or having Martha's book in a visual view.so that there's no feud, you know the Gwyneth Paltrow thing, that's what she's hoping to get going.

35:39

The team know there's zero chance.Do I believe Martha Stewart would want to step in a kitchen with her?Not really.if I'm honest, you know, and you just think you just needed to think about the wording.Or, as a team pointed out, say nothing. As Ronan Keating, the singer, famously said, you say it best when you say nothing at all.

36:02

A lesson to be learned there, Meghan Markle, but ultimately this story is developing.Well, thank you as I say for joining me for this week's by Royal Appointment and you know the score chums.I know it's summer and I know it's breezy and bright and we're all warm and hot and bothered.Well, might be hot, we're never bothered are we?And the thing is, if you can please like, share and comment respectfully and as I often say to genuinely mean this chums, take care of yourselves this week.Neil Sean, Kensington, London.
