Massive New Evidence in Reform UK Police Investigation!!

Hi, my name's Phil.I like talking about politics.So there's been a massive development in the Reform UK funding scandal.This isn't the Farage five million.This one could be way more serious for the entire party.So this one centres on George Cottrell and his mother.

They are under police investigation.What for?Because Fiona Cottrell, George's mother, passed on donations totaling £1 .5 million to Reform UK directly and indirectly through Richard Tice's fundraising company.But police are investigating based on the suspicion that it wasn't actually Fiona Cottrell donating her own money, but passing on money from her son.Now, why does this matter?Because George Cottrell is not registered as living in the UK and unlike Christopher Harbourn, is not on the British electoral roll.

That means he's not supposed to donate to political parties.So if the one point five million pounds donated by Fiona Cottrell actually came from George Cottrell or someone else, then electoral law has been broken.And would you believe it?Last night, The Guardian published an article which says they are giving to understand George Cottrell transferred two million dollars to his mother.Now, it's in several lumps, but each lump happened just a couple of days before Fiona Cottrell sent off her parts of the one point five million pounds.Well, $2 million is £1 .5 million.

Suspicious?Yeah, this is a bit of a smoking gun, isn't it?The Guardian also reports that George Cottrell had assured Reform UK that money would be entering their coffers in the run up to the general election in 2024, potentially suggesting that he was playing an organising role in donations.So how serious is this and how much more serious could it get for Reform UK?Well, we're potentially looking at offences under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000, as well as potentially the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.The matter is very serious.

Both George and Fiona Cottrell have already been interviewed by Met Police under caution.That means they are treated as suspects in a crime.I don't know if this new development you know the transfer of money from George to Fiona Cottrell is new to the police since they interviewed them under caution or if it's just new information to us.

The punishment can include unlimited fines but also up to 12 months in prison.Unless, of course, it can be determined that the movement of money was deliberate money laundering or fraud, in which case they could be looking at up to 14 years in the clink.

It goes without saying that Reform UK would have to fork over that £1 .5 million.Mind you, as Christopher Harbourn keeps topping up the tank for them, that may only be a minor nuisance for them.But attention would then turn to whether Richard Tice or Nigel Farage or anyone else at Reform UK knew about the deception, or if they took enough steps to check that the donations were permissible.Now, it might be that they do get away with this, unless emails are found which drop them in it.I remember when the Tories were passing new election laws and people were telling them, you need to toughen up the requirement for parties to check the eligibility of donations.You know, it's a bit too much like an honesty box.

It's like it's illegal to accept donations from like foreign sources.but you're not really required to do a lot of checking, and the Tories refused to do this, which was dodgy as hell, so it may well be that the legal burden for Reform UK in 2024 was not actually that great.

However, if evidence can be found that anyone at Reform UK with Richard Tice being the most in the frame, knew what was going on, it could be serious for them too.He'd be in line for the fines or up to 12 months in prison.

Now this is how serious it could be if this is as simple as George Cottrell wanted to give Reform UK a load of money,knew he wasn't allowed, so used his mother as a mule to carry out the donations.But as I've discussed before, it could be even more serious.What if George Cottrell isn't actually the source of the money?What if he is just another link in the chain?What if Reform UK took money from Fiona Cottrell, because she's allowed, who took money from George Cottrell, because he's good at moving money about, and he took the money from, I don't know, Sergei of St. Petersburg, who took it from someone connected directly to the Russian state, who fancied triggering the collapse of UK politics?

George Cottrell, I remind you, was convicted for offering to disguise the flow of money.So why would it be so surprising if he were not just performing the same service to move money from the Russian state to reform the UK?Now there's no reports that we have any evidence of this or even that the police are investigating that line of inquiry.It might also be that evidence would be very difficult to find even if this is what happened, given that the money moved from Cotterill in crypto form.But if any evidence for this could be found, that would be curtains for Reform UK.But assuming the investigation begins and ends at the feet of George Cotterill, I mean that would be for the courts to decide, but he and his mother may not be alone in the dock.

They could be joined by Richard Tice, who handled much of the money and should have carried out due diligence.His company, as well as Reform UK, because that's a limited company, they can also be prosecuted.And if Reform UK is in the frame, so too would be Nigel Farage, who is the major controller of the company.And of course, even if there's no evidence that Tice or Farage definitely knew about the fraud, and the legal requirements were too weak to expect them to ask detailed questions.The fact of the matter would still be, they had taken money fraudulently.On top of the other scandals, this would make Reform UK look increasingly as sleazy as the Tories ever were.

maybe even worse in some ways.The political damage to everyone involved could be immense.And then there's something else.Reform UK are now in clear decline.Nigel Farage is actively evading questions about the growing number of financial sleaze at his door.If he doesn't win Clacton by a massive margin, questions will be asked about whether he really has the confidence of his own public.

But as long as he does win, his parliamentary investigation starts up again.He will not enjoy the constant questions about that.He will not enjoy the questions about what he knew about whether he's been part of money laundering.With the evidence mounting against George Cottrell, Farage will be asked if he's still in close contact with him.He will be, and I suspect remains so.Farage will be asked about that.

We've seen that Nigel Farage has very thin skin.He likes asking questions, hates answering them.He's already lost his rag a couple of times.Will the pressure cause him to snap?How is he going to get through his party conference at the start of September?I mean, are they going to ban all journalists apart from his mates at GB News?

How would that look?Or will he just surround himself with an epic bodyguard that doesn't let anyone within 20 metres of him?And what more about this story may come out over the next few weeks and months as the investigations continue?Every one of these revelations is another nail in Nigel Farage's political coffin, and he still doesn't know how to deal with it.First, he triggers a by -election against the bin.Then he holds a private speech in Norfolk, nearly 100 miles away from Clacton.

Then he publishes old videos of him in Clacton from 2024 and 2025, pretending it's from recently.Would you believe it?None of it is working.And I haven't even begun talking about the latest polling on how the public see him as a political leader.I will, though, be discussing that tomorrow unless some other mad news comes up.Because his failures aren't just about financial sleaze.
