Ladies and gentlemen, Sonam Wangchuk had been on a hunger strike for 20 days and it erupted a national rebellion against the Education Minister of India because of paper leaks and a corrupt system that ruined the lives of millions of students.And right now, he is demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.Now as much as I believe in the power of protest and the resignation of incompetent ministers, I have to tell you that the resignation of any person is not going to change anything, because the real culprit is the system.And while most people think that the neat paper leak is a problem, you will be shocked to know that our entire medical education system is so corrupt so corrupt that the paper leak is only a symptom.The actual culprit is a system that is so sophisticatedly corrupt that today it has become a multi -thousand crore industry.And this is because of the Medical Seed Mafia.

Before we start, I just want to let you know that this video in no way supports the Cockroach Janata Party because I do not know anything about them yet and I'm not going to support people I do not know just because it is a social media trend.I respect Sonam sir a lot and this video is just to help you understand the deeper problems that he has began highlighting.If this is clear, let's get started.Now before we understand the medical seat crisis and the mafias, we first need to ask ourselves, does India even need enough doctors?And the funny thing is, this question has two answers.The government says yes, but the experts say no.

The government says that WHO recommends having one doctor per 1000 people.And we officially have a ratio of 1 is to 800 in level, which boils down to 1 .23 doctors per 1000 people.So it's great, right?No.Why?Because the government has counted Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and even Homeopathy practitioners as doctors.

And if you remove them and count only the doctors trained for your heart attack, your surgery and your child's emergency, basically all allopathic doctors, the ratio collapses to 0 .7 to 0 .8 per thousand.In fact, Dr. Vicky Paul, a Niti Aayog member on record says that one doctor per thousand is acceptable only for a poor low income country.And when we become a developed nation, India will need three doctors per thousand people.Now scale that across 1 .46 billion people and you will see that India will need 4 .2 million doctors even with the same population.population by the time we become developed.And currently, we only have 1 .39 million.

So, we will have to produce 2 .8 million more doctors to prevent India from a healthcare crisis.This is the problem that India is about to face.And you know what?This is only the tip of the iceberg.The shortage of specialists is even worse.Look at this table.

This shows the number of specialist doctors in India.And here, you will see that India is facing a shortage of pediatricians, cardiologists, neurologists, endocrinologists, and even orthopedic surgeons.And according to Dr. VK Paul, we won't have enough general surgeons in the next 34 years and we will not have enough cardiologists.even in the next 82 years.So logically speaking, a country that has a huge shortage of doctors should be admitting every capable student into its medical colleges.And we should be churning out doctors at scale, right?

Right.Now look what we're doing.In 2024, more than 13 lakh students qualified NEET.So they were fit to enter medical colleges to becomedoctors.But do you know how many MBBS seats were waiting for them?

Not even 2 lakh seats.So 12 lakh students get rejected in spite of being capable of becoming a doctor.And this gap between the number of students applying and the number of students becoming doctors is actually widening.year after year.Look at this, while we produce 4 .1 medical graduates per 100 ,000 people, today, US stands at 8 .5, Germany stands at 12, Great Britain stands at 13 .1 and Denmark stands at 21 .2.This is the situation of India's healthcare system.

And you know what guys, it gets worse.Clearing NEET and getting a seat is the easy part because for the 1 .18 lakh students who get in, it's an even harder battle to become a specialist.For every three doctors India trains, there are only two specialist training seats waiting on the other side.So practically speaking, 33 % of these doctors will not become a specialist not because they weren't good, but because the seed for them just doesn't exist.Now think about what a student has just survived to get here.They beat 20 lakh people in Nate, they gave five and a half years to a degree, and then at the finish line, they're told that 33 % of them will be eliminated.

So do you realize the problem?On one side, India is a country desperately short of doctors and specialists.On the other side, we have lakhs of students capable of becoming doctors.But we have somehow locked the doors and let both the student and the country face a disaster.The question is why?And this is where the medical mafia comes in.

As it turns out, there is a machinery quietly converting India's doctor shortage into crores due to the desperation of the students to get a medical seat.Let me show you how.You see, medical seats cannot legally be sold in India.So let me show you how they're sold anyway.There are two legal doors into a medical college.Crack NEET with the top rank and get a government seat with the fees of 3 -5 lakhs or

an average score and pay 50 lakhs to 1 crore in a private college.Then there is a third door.At this door, nobody asks for your scorecard.They just hand you a rate card which says MBBS equal to 1 crore, PG equal to 3 crore.But the question over here is, if every seat is allocated by rank, where do these seats come from?Well, these seats are actually manufactured and the tool used to manufacture them is the last thing you would suspect.

It is a topper.Let's see how the system works.To allocate seats to students, there is a process called counselling.In this system, seats are handed out in multiple rounds.So there is round 1, round 2, and then there is a mop -up round.Why rounds?

Because students keep upgrading.So if a high ranker leaves college X, that seat goes to the next rank.And if they reject it, then it goes to the next rank in the next round.So with every round, empty seats slide down to the best available student.And after these rounds, whatever seats are left, that goes to the college and they decide who gets the seat.And here's where the scammers deploy a three -step process.

Step number one, rent a topper.A student with a strong rank already had his government seat locked.And now, an agent offered him 5 -15 lakhs for a small favour.this student was asked to apply to a private college.Why?Because back then the system allowed him to hold seats in both the government and private college at once.

Now the topper does absolutely nothing and just blocks the private seat for multiple rounds so that nobody below him can touch it.And the moment these rounds close, the topper quietly gives the seat up.And now that seed goes to college where the college decides who gets the seat.And this seat is sold for 1 to 4 crore rupees to the desperate students who want to become doctors.So the agent gets the cut, the topper gets his cut and the college makes 1 to 4 crores per seat.Now multiply this 4 crores by thousands and you will see that India has multiple unicorns.

hidden in plain sight in medical colleges.In 2023, 12 private colleges were caught selling seats for 100 crores in Telangana.In 2021, Educational Trust in Karnataka sold it for 400 crores.And then, 185 government quota seats were sold for 100 crores and it keeps happening all across the country.To stop all this, the Supreme Court finally stepped in.In 2025, it passed strict orders to end this scam.

But the problem is that only half the orders have been implemented.Now the question over here is, if this problem is so evident, why are we not fixing it?Well, this is where the second scam comes in.Let me show you how it works.You see, in Indian medical colleges, all seats are not priced equally.A certain percentage of seats are reserved for two special categories.

One is the NRI quota, where these seats are reserved for the children of non -resident Indians.Why?Because they pay three to four times of the fees and then that is then used to cross subsidize the second category.The second category is the EWS quota.This quota has seats reserved for the economically weaker sections so that even the poorest student in India can dream of becoming a doctor.So there's one category for the rich and the other for the poor.

And you know what guys?The scammers somehow found a way to steal both.How?Well, investigation reports reveal that agents work hand in gloves with the college management to manufacture fake entities.So a student who has never left his home state suddenly has an NRI from Dubai using a fake sponsorship certificate.A family with crores in cash is suddenly seen as economically weaker with a fake income certificate.

And the system is pretty simple.The agent forges the paperwork, the management approves it without blinking, and the seat is sold for crores.As per reports, 145 EWS -listed seats in deemed universities went to candidates who paid fees running into crores.So the seats created for families who can barely afford books were bought by families who paid in crores.One candidate apparently paid 4 .23 crores for a seatseat on an EWS quota.

All in all, around 18 ,000 MDBAs and PG seats across India are filled on forged NRI documents.But this begs the question, the government must have some organization to check and punish these colleges, right?Well, they do.But this is where another scam comes in.I call this the watchdog sale.Let me explain.

Every medical college in India exists under the supreme authority of one body.This body is called the National Medical Commission or NMC.So if you want to open a new medical college, the NMC must approve it.If you're already running a college, the NMC inspects to see if you have enough faculty, enough infrastructure and enough patients for students to actually learn from.So it's the watchdog of quality, right?Right.

The CBI exposed what it calls one of the largest medical college scams in India.As it turns out, NMC inspections are supposed to be surprise checks where the college isn't supposed to know when inspectors are coming.That surprise is the entire point.But according to the CBI, the surprise was for sale.Health ministry insiders were leaking the inspection schedule to tell the college which date and which inspectors will come to inspect them.This leak flowed through an entire chain of ministry officials, middlemen and fixers straight to the college management.

And once the college knew exactly when the inspectors were coming, the show began.People were hired to act as professors, Empty beds were filled overnight with fake patients and the CBI estimates that over 40 medical colleges across India secured approvals through these tactics.This is how the medical mafia makes crores in profits due to India's medical seat shortage.So the question is, if I know it, if the CBI knows it and the politicians know it, then why are we not fixing it?Well, it may be because a lot of politicians themselves own these medical colleges.I don't know.

This is what we need to protest against and raise our voice.against.And I fundamentally believe that the resignation of a person is not going to change anything.Because a bad system will beat a good person every single time.You cannot have an honest man lead a corrupt system.So the question is, how do we solve this problem?

Well, there are three systemic changes that we need to demand from our politicians.Solution number one.we need a national counseling system.Now think about the topper scam.The weak point of the scam is the gap between the topper vacating a seat and the college filling it.If you close that gap, the machine dies.

America solved this decades ago with something called the match.It's a Nobel Prize winning algorithm that assigns a match with no scope for more rounds.And if you walk away from your matched seat, you are barred for 1 to 3 years, your name is listed and you're permanently banned for serious or repeat fraud.So do you see what happens?The topper is forced to accept a seat and if he abandons it, it kills his career.Solution No 2 Take the quota verification system out of the college's hands and put it in a computerized system.

You know all this fake NRI and fake EWS scam can be fixed using a simple independent verification system that can check NRI sponsorship against actual immigration and remittance records and EWS certificates must be cross checked against income tax and PAN data.Simple.All of this has to be done by a computerized system with no human involved.And the easiest thing to do today would be to publish all these quota IDs online, because a forged Dubai sponsorship can hide in front of a college clerk, but it cannot survive public scrutiny on the internet.And lastly, we need a regulator that nobody in the government can control like the Indian judiciary, which I would like to believe is not controllable.On top of that, we need to pay them handsomely like the Singapore government so that their temptation of corruption is completely erased.

At the same time, you need to make the punishment so severe that it is not worth committing a crime for.If we do all of this,and then we increase the number of colleges, India will be well equipped with doctors to take care of its population in the next few decades.If not, just like a third world country, we will keep crying about the lack of healthcare and see people die simply because we couldn't prepare for a disaster we saw coming long long time ago.So the moral of the story is, as long as a medical seat is worth 4 crore rupees, you someone will keep inventing new ways to sell it because it's a great business model.So to break corruption, we need to attack the business model.

And unless we break the business model, corruption will always thrive.Now do you notice what these four suggestions have in common?They do not beg for a hero to take charge and they do not expect people to be nice and ethical.They expect the system to be so robust that even a bad man cannot do much damage.Because a bad system will beat a good person every single time.You can put the most honest administrator to run a corrupt machine, but eventually you will see that the machine will grind him down within a year.

So we don't need a better man at the wheel.We need a machine that doesn't need a better man.And unless we demand for the right solutions, we are only changing the face of the problem.We will get a new face, but the problem will still exist.And soon enough, it'll be time to protest again.This is my thought on the ongoing issue in this country.
