Mom Judges "Crumbl" Cookies.. that I made.. but she doesn't know that

Hey everyone! So today we are doing a very exciting video. In this video we are going to be adding yet another video to my Rolodex of prank videos. Listen, I'm not a prank channel, but every so often I get the hankering to prank Mellow Maples. It started many years ago when I had the bright idea to make crafts that I saw on Etsy and then show them to my mom as if I had bought them from Etsy but I had actually made them. It's actually kind of insane to

think that that video was now six years ago. It literally feels like just yesterday. We went on to do it with then again clothing, cakes, and earrings and today crumble cookies. I can only do about one prank video every one and a half to two years Otherwise mama maples gets highly suspicious And that's why we don't do very many of these videos because if I was doing it like every other week it would obviously not Work she would be like totally on to me, but when you put that much amount of time

Within then she's not as suspicious if that makes sense so today I'm going to be pranking my mom with crumble cookies that she thinks is from Crumble, but they are actually made by yours truly. And with even more so of a twist, each cookie is going to have something wrong with it. This is gonna be fun.

Just recently, I did a crumble cookie video over on my second channel where we ate crumble for an entire month, which I do not suggest doing. But you guys really enjoyed that crumble cookie video. So it made me be like, you know what? Let's do that prank that I've been wanting to do. Let's do it.

So the plan of action is I'm gonna go to the grocery store and get absolutely everything I need. There's a few specialty pieces I'm gonna have to go to Michael's to grab. Here I am, ladies?

Now that I'm sitting in front of all these flavors, there's cotton candy. Like, a cinnamon one might be weird.

I'm gonna go for peppermint.

Now that I have all that, I'm actually gonna be doing a test kitchen because I was worried that Mama Maples would, like, bust into my house cuz she likes to Pop in so I wanted to do all my trialing at my friend's house So thanks to them for letting me destroy their kitchen. I did clean it up, but it was a little dicey there for a second

This is why we're doing the test kitchen So I have chosen three previous crumble cookies and I'm going to change up the recipes to try to throw my mom off So the first cookie is the raspberry lemonade cookie. This is gonna be obviously a raspberry lemonade flavored cookie Psych this is gonna be peppermint. The next cookie we have is the dirt cake cookie. It's really cute It's super chocolatey and it would probably be really good except for the fact I'm gonna make it with Absolutely, no sugar and yeah for the fact I'm gonna make it with absolutely no sugar. And yeah

for the icing instead of using icing sugar I'm gonna use flour. It's gonna be bad. And for the next cookie this is the confetti cake cookie. Now a small little callback to the video over on my second channel where we ate crumble cookies for an entire month. This was one of my favorite cookies so I thought it would be good to present this one again because she'll be expecting the flavor

that we've already had.

And so this will be even more shocking when I replace the sugar with salt. This feels horrible to do. Kevin, try it.

Oh my gosh.

I probably shouldn't even eat that. That's actually really bad.

Holy crap, that's a lot.

Now I know what you're wondering. Mia, how do you plan on tricking her with this? This is gonna be so obvious. Well, a crumble box often has six cookies in it. So three of which will be mine and three of which will be real crumble cookies.

So I'm gonna go to actual crumble and like get three cookies and hopefully they'll camouflage well with the other crumble cookies. Now we need to really bake these cookies. And as always, please, please nominate me for an Oscar. You guys are gonna see some pretty stellar acting. ♪♪

Okay, so I'm gonna start making the crumble cookies now. I actually did a little test kitchen at my friend's house a couple days ago. So by rights now, making these today should be smooth sailing because I have the recipes all dialed in.

I wrote them all down on my phone, what worked and what didn't work because I had a few pancake cookies happen. So, okay, I'm gonna start with the one that isn't a complete monstrosity, the raspberry lemonade cookie.

This one, the only difference basically is it's not gonna be raspberry or lemonade.

It's gonna be peppermint.

1 1⁄4 cup of butter. I'm basically 1 1� 4th-ing the recipe because it literally only needs one cookie. So if I need a half cup, I need a half of a half cup of a half of a half. Half a cup of flour. I don't measure baking powder.

I don't measure much in the kitchen, I'm not gonna lie to you.

Wink.

That is basically everything for that. But the very most important ingredient that we must put in is a lethal not lethal dose of peppermint. I really shouldn't be biting this because my dad just the other day bit something hard that he shouldn't have bit and one of his teeth flew out and then he went to the dentist and it's gonna cost $20,000 to fix. I am not even making this up you guys be so careful with your teeth

Okay. Now this is a really really potent peppermint oil It's supposed to be like four times that of a typical peppermint extract So I'm just gonna put like a ton of it two shots of vodka Because I want it to be super peppermint, let's mix this up. Oh my gosh, it smells so pepperminty in here.

I don't literally know why I'm mixing it by hand when my stand mixer is literally right there. I don't know why I'm doing this.

See, the whole point of me doing a test kitchen was so that this part wouldn't be chaotic. But look at what's happening to me. Like I try to plan ahead, I do a full on test kitchen, and for what? Although I will say this is actually starting

to be the consistency I need. The crumble cookies are honestly massive. Oh yeah, that's looking pretty good. Okay, so now I'm gonna put this in the oven for 10 minutes. So now I have to start making the salty cookie, which is the exact same recipe,

but you sub out the sugar for salt. Why am I acting like this is some sort of like tutorial? Absolutely nobody's gonna try this. The half cup of granulated sugar. That's when we bring in this baby, table salt, which could this kill you?

I'm not really sure. I'm gonna try not to let my mom swallow the cookie, but I kind of think she's gonna spit it out anyway, so it won't really matter. But yeah, I'm gonna just. Don't do this, you guys.

This is basically the equivalent of eating play-doh. It's a bad idea. One cup. A little bit of salt. Oh wait, you know what? I'm not gonna worry about putting a little bit of salt. I think we've got enough salt in here. You're welcome mom. I bet you're happy about this, watching this after the fact.

Boom! Now I have to hope about this, watching this after the fact. Boom.

Now I have to hope that this one worked. Oh my gosh, it's a little bit wide. This is something I was doing at the test kitchen. I'm just squeezing it because it obviously rose a little bit.

Like, I feel like that's a crumble cookie. It might be a little big, but who said anything was wrong with a big cookie? Okay. This is gonna be the crumble cookie. This is just so wrong.

There's so much wrong with not having any sugar, not even like a maple sugar or something, like a substitute. This is gonna be the worst cookie ever, but that's the whole point. Also, I was making cookies last night and I just learned that my freaking cookie scoop that I bought is lead. I've been scooping my cookies

with lead. That sucks. Check your cookie scoops you guys. Now the fun thing about this cookie, we're gonna coat it in Oreo dust. I got double stuff even though we literally don't even need the Oreo inside Okay, now I have to crush these I don't have any plastic bags I don't use them anymore. Actually wait, maybe I have a I might have a paper bag. Oh

yeah, I might have a paper bag. Oh yeah.

I have to basically like stamp that into it because it's the dirt. Don't lie. You're impressed. Okay, popping it in for 10 minutes. I'm gonna enjoy this.

Okay, so we need half a cup of unsalted butter at room temperature. I just so happen to have this butter right here. Okay, I'm just gonna beat this. I'm basically just making regular icing and then I'm gonna section off some of it and add a bunch of salt. Okay, that's looking pretty good.

Some confectioners sugar!

Okay, so I'm just gonna add a little bit at a time. I'm really bad at making icing, so I'm hopeful about this. Gonna take probably about that much.

Then we have the not ruined one. I'm gonna add a bunch of,

oh my gosh, that's so much. Oh, that's crazy.

So I need this, and I also need one raspberry. Now I know what you're saying, Mia, you're trying to make it not taste like raspberry. But as you can see in the crumble cookie photo, it's got little pieces of raspberry, so I need to just do one. But don't worry, that will not overpower the smell. This was like the perfect color, but I think the color is getting there. So we've got

the icing for the raspberry lemonade. Now for the confetti cake cookie. I'm just gonna drop literally one drop of red food coloring in here.

Yeah, like look at that.

I feel like that's literally the food coloring crumbles using just like one drop of red. Cause like it makes the right pink. Look at that pink, pink icing done. Now I'm gonna make the chocolate. This icing is the one that's the most weird

because instead of using icing sugar, we're gonna use flour. I almost feel like I could make a half of a half. Like I don't want much of this. Instead of powdered sugar, we're adding flour. It is as bad as it sounds, yes.

And don't try this at home. I'm pretty sure like eating raw flour isn't good for you. I don't exactly know why because I'm somebody who eats dough all the time, but I mean, maybe that's why I'm somebody who eats dough all the time, but I mean

It's a little gooier than I remember it from the test kitchen This is weird. This isn't what happened last time. So I got this tip from Michael's. I think it's gonna be perfect Actually, I know it's gonna be perfect because I already tested it. So I'm gonna start on the outside and make my way to the inside. Oh my gosh, it doesn't, oh my gosh, no. It's not right. I don't wanna have to do this so many times.

I could literally just pick it up. Try that again, shall we? First of all, it didn't want to stick to the cookie, which I didn't see that during the test. That is better, I think. Just gonna sprinkle some of these, a little bit of those.

I'm a little embarrassed at how long it took me to find the right gummy worm. I was looking for a very specific green and blue, but I ended up, like, the closest I could find was a green and yellow, so it's just gonna have to work. So we're gonna just set the little gummy worm on there.

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, don't be tricked. It doesn't actually taste good at all. But there we go, one done. Like wouldn't this be more satisfying if I was making things that actually didn't taste horrible? And I wanna mention that I had to look far and wide

for these sprinkles. I had to order some from Australia and these ones took like three weeks to get here, but they're perfect. They honestly look exactly like the sprinkles. I wouldn't even be surprised

if those were the sprinkles they're using. So my muscle memory is like telling me to lick my hand, but I know for a fact it's super salty,

so I'm not going to.

The technique with this one is to let it like fall out. Boom. I have to be very careful about this because there's not too many. Oh gosh that one looks amazing. Oh my gosh they do look like crumble cookies though look at them over here. Now this is the hard one. So first I put the white in the bag and then I'm gonna scoop the pink in the bag after it.

Okay so now it looks really bad. I hear you, I hear you. So now I gotta go like this. And then I'm gonna pop the seeds out. Honestly, not too bad. I think the icing's wrong,

but I think it's enough to trick her. Tonight, I'm gonna head to Crumble, get three other cookies so that I can disguise these ones within the box. And then we're gonna be pranking.

Okay, so this is a lemon cookie smothered with a marbled swirl of lemon and raspberry frosting infused with fresh house-made raspberry jam and finished with a tangy lemon slice. Mmm that seems right. Mmm smells very lemony. Yeah. Do you want to take a bite first? You go first. Okay. I might have to move this because I want

to bite big enough in case there is something on the inside.

That is kind of like a shortbread-y sugar cookie.

This is every baking to be my favorite but in this box and next to the lava cake The competition is fierce and that to me is a highlight cookie like I can see kids Loving that with the gummy worm and the dirt like who doesn't like worms and dirt kind of those kind of desserts when you're a kid

We basically got a two-in-one prank I thought I was just gonna get my mom and I ended up getting my dad to a little bit worried about the fact that He actually ingested the salt cookie, but as I'm filming this outro, it's like five days later and he's fine So I personally love a harmless prank where nobody gets injured, hurt, sad, or offended.
