Multiple Ontario communities evacuate as wildfires spread

And those forest fires in northwestern Ontario are also causing several nearby First Nations and communities to evacuate.Communities north of Lake Nipigon from Collins First Nation to Armstrong and Cushing Lake were told to evacuate last night and head south to Thunder Bay.OPP say residents in Ignace, Crystal Lake and along Highway 633 are being told to prepare for evacuation.

There are currently 128 active fires in Ontario's northern And this footage, wow, this is from inside a train that had to be stopped near Collins, and it shows the intensity of the forest fire in that area.The train was being used to help evacuate people from Armstrong and neighboring communities when it was overtaken by one of the fires in the area.The people on board the train got away safely, but the train remains on the tracks between Collins and Armstrong.Freight trains using that corridor were also stopped.stopped and staged near Collins.Police say those trains were carrying combustible and flammable materials.

They're asking the public to stay away from the area and railways at this time, adding emergency responders and railway officials are working together to assess the conditions of the trains.
