My New Goal is Insane | Sailing Locked (#15)

This is Doc Johnson, my sailing -locked Iron Man.The mainland is banned for this account.I can only walk on docks and islands.From humble beginnings, I'll have to level up my sailing to unlock brand new, never -before -seen islands, relying strictly on their resources to complete my ultimate goal, collecting the 10 rarest items across the sea without ever touching the mainland.Hey, I'm standing next to Johnson's Most Wanted, my list of 10 rarest treasures in the sea.And you might be wondering why there's a meteor headed straight for it.

That's going to blow up any second.Oh, my God.Oh, hey, Merchants Paint.You guys, you guys ever heard of the Merchants Paint?Back when I originally created Johnson's Most Wanted, I added the Angler's Paint as one of the ten rarest items in the sea to it.I was well aware of the Merchant's Paint existence at the time, and how cool it was.

I mean, a gold trim on the foul oyster, can you imagine?When you give Trader Stan the five rarest boat paints in the game, you get one Merchant's Paint.But one of those five rare paints that you need to get it seemed impossible at the time I made the list.The Salver's Paint.It can only be obtained from Marshal Salvage at a 1 in 24 ,000 rate.and the shipwrecks to get it are only in the Tangled Kelp.

And you guessed it, the Veiled Kraken is exactly what lets me get in there, if I can score four Camphor Planks from them.Which means for the first time ever, I am changing Johnson's Most Wanted.We'll still have to get the Angler's Paint, but only because we now have to trade it for the ultimate Golden Merchant's Paint.We'll need the rare Inky paint from Kraken's, the rare Barracuda paint from the Barracuda Trial, the rare Angler's paint from Deep Sea Trawling, and the rare Salver's paint from Martial Salvage.A long grind for sure, but to get the ultimate flex, I can't imagine this account not having it.We're going to make our first steps towards

unlocking the Tangled Kelp Ocean this week.And on the surface, all I need are four camphor planks.Seems easy enough, but you're going to understand pretty quickly why this might be the most insane grind yet.

Hello!72 Fletching.We can now make many things actually.Use shields, ironwood blowpipes.Still not quite the blowpipe we want to make, but we're getting closer.I am slowly working through the 10 ,000 logs I had stocked up in my bank alongside all the steel arrow tips.

It's a super long process, but we're going to be killing krakens this week, which means I have to prepare a couple of things.73 Fletching.We're in the middle of making a gigantic batch.of arrows right now 74 fletching 10 levels to go until the rosewood blowpipe finally finishing these up we're gonna have 50 000 steel arrows to do a big range training session with my max hit with the cannon on veiled krakens right now is 22 when we deduct the flat armor that they have i am trying to get that to at least 25 before i start the grind with a few more range levels pretty close to 85 now so i'm gonna take these 50 000 arrows This is going to be our longest range training session yet, over 30 hours to get rid of all these arrows, but it should be pretty quick for you, I hope, watching this video.

You might be wondering why it's so important to get my range level up.And I mean, besides the fact that obviously more damage equals more Kraken kills per hour.Well, you see, there's one pretty gigantic roadblock about the Veiled Krakens I haven't talked about yet.You can only find them in the Tangled Kelp.That's the whole reason I'm killing them is to unlock the Tangled Kelp.My boat cannot go in there for very long.

There's no way I can just stroll up in there and kill them.But on a brave scouting mission, just on the edge of the Tangled Kelp, I discovered somethingthat made all of this possible.Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, hold up, hold up, hold up.Is that in range?This could be it.

I haven't seen one this close before.

I'm like just barely out of range.No way.Maybe if I tank the kelp for a bit, okay, and then I, this is doable.

Oh, this is doable.So yeah, this one kraken is the only one I can theoretically fight.It's just on the edge, and I can lure it to normal waters.

But just to get its attention on me, I have to tank kelp damage every single kill, and then after I tank all that damage, I have to fight the kraken itself, which is probably going to be a pretty rough 1v1.

It is once again Gangster Week for the spreadsheet.I am hoping to collect some more mahogany planks.There's a spawn.I also wouldn't mind getting some teak planks because worst case, I can make those into repair kits myself.But the Kraken's hit so hard that I really want to use mahogany repair kits are better.They heal 30, teak heal 20.

It just doesn't feel that good when, you know, I'm getting hit like non -stop 15s.Damn, no teak or mahogany planks on this gangster spawn.That is rough.Oh, on the final gangster, let's go!Eight mahogany planks, 19 teak, not a bad haul actually.It's such a shame that this is the only altar on any island.

I just always have to recharge my prayer on Entrata.It's so out of the way.Hey, 39 slayer, 12 levels to go.Sand crabs are on hold right now because I'm dangerously low on sailors amulet charges, which I just rely on them so much.I can't do anything without the sailors amulet.So I'm going to farm these guys for some law runes.

and then we speed through some range levels.Alright, this is my last one no matter what.Hey, look at that, let's go, a law rune drop to end it.16 law runes now, that's 160 amulet charges, we are restocked.86 range, that my friends is plus one max hit on the cannon.I wanna get at least 88 range, so probably another like 20 hours here and I should be good to go.

Now that my range level is so high, I kill way more gangsters every time they spawn, so it's working out beautifully for me.Insane gangster haul here.18 Mahogany, 20 Teak, 40 Oak planks.Potentially the best one I've had.87 range levels are getting long now.I can't get one in a full day anymore I spend so much time on this beach and you know what this is still the bad sand crab spot guys like These sand crabs are single combat So they're way more annoying than just your regular average sand crab spot that you'd normally train at in game I finished up another gangster trip tons of oak planks this time and nine mahogany We will take it anytime we get mahogany planks.

It's a win all right uh completely out of arrows all done with the 50 ,000 arrows i got to 88 range which was my goal for the time being and like a third of the way to 89 so pretty happy with that i want you guys to look at this beautiful inventory what a session at the trees four lamps 40 slayer look at that that is crazy to see that at 40 the acceleration is so real Hitting 51 Slayer is gonna be unreal.I'm actually so excited.We're still quite a ways away, but at 40, it feels within reach.There's 80 wood cutting.I was going for this level because we've officially just unlocked Ironwood Trees.

Yet another thing locked behind the Tangled Kelp, which is locked behind the Krakens.Everything relies on the Krakens.

Speaking of Krakens, we need a weapon with a 10 tile range.And the Yulong bow fits the bill.We're just going to do that.Quick update on the time played on the account because I don't know when I last did it.We're approaching 1300 hours on the seas right now.Oh, by the way, guys, 41 Slayer.

Look at that.I'm doing my final Kraken prep right now, and there's one glaringly obvious upgrade that I should have gotten a while ago.We're sailing over there right now.Hello once again, Minotaur's Rest.We need one single prayer level.to get a an extra 5 % boost to range unlocking Eagle Eye.

So yeah, this is going to take no time at all, but it's going to be so worth it.I get two cannon max hits by getting 44 prayer.So let's get this done and there is 44 prayer Eagle Eye unlocked.Wow.Look how cool I look right now.What the?

It is a very good thing that I've been grinding out gangsters because I'm going to invest some planks into a mahogany cargo hold for the foul oyster.I'm going to want as many repair kits with me as possible.The plus 15 cargo space from this upgrade, super worthwhile, even though mahogany planks are precious.I feel like I'm preparing for war right now.I'm just running back and forth, putting repair kits into my cargo hold.The Doc Johnson Navy unit is preparing for battle.

All right, we're stocked up.Next thing on the list, I want to get more mithril cannonballs.I don't think this is enough, so I'm just gonna buy out this entire shop.Dude, like many years ago, I learned to butterfly click for Minecraft PvP, and now I just feel like I use it all the time to like buy stuff from shops.Am I the only one who did that?Let's grab the Addy crossbow and some bolts.

I don't think I'll be using the bolts, but the crossbow does affect our cannon accuracy.It doesn't do anything for the damage, but it does buff the accuracy.All right, I think we're ready.Let's get cracking.Obviously, I was gonna say it.

There's there's no world where I don't.To make it very clear just how big of a deal this grind is, there are multiple missions going on here.The main mission, four camphor planks to unlock the entirety of the tangled kelp ocean.One in 90 per plank.The two side missions that are arguably just as important, the dragon cannon barrel can be dropped by these guys.That's on the most wanted list and it is very rare and by far the rarest, most dangerous,

thing that could happen here is getting the inky paint.Currently believed to be around 1 in 2000 and considering how slow these kills are going to go, that is a very, very good drop to get.

We're going to need it to trade it for the merchant's paint.My first attempt at a Kraken kill went really poorly, to say the least.

I was trying to avoid having to go into the kelp to lure him out, but eventually I had no choice.

I also learned that your crewmates just stop listening to your commands if you're in the kelp without the adamant helm upgrade.This is such a mess.Can I reach him from here?

No!Where are you going?Where is he going?

No!He's retreating!I had to burn through a bunch of repair kits and do a lot of boat gymnastics, but eventually we got our first kill.Yes!He's been defeated!Okay, first loot on the account.

Rune plate legs!Oh, I will happily take that.That's so sick!New best plate legs on the account.Oh, that's so sick.Honestly, the regular loot here is pretty solid.

And now I just have to kill these guys like 400 more times and we're good to go.I'm gonna go back to the bank real quick.I want to try something.This is probably a useless test, but I built two cannons on this ship, so I can use the Mythril one, a crewmate can use the steel one.Eventually, I'm going to have crewmates helping me with sea monsters.

The Veiled Kraken is more of a freak outlier where it has by far the most flat armor of any monster in the entire game.This thing is no joke.

And I just wanted to test out if they can do damage to the Krakens.I know they probably can't.It's like 99 % chance that this is a worthless test.I'm gonna do it anyway just to see and I can always use the mithril cannon so oh it's been so long since I've seen an ocean man you guys might not even remember this guy this is a very rare ocean encounter although seemingly useless I've secretly been trying to spawn the ocean man again for a long time he can give us one of seven cocktails in the game and one of those is a big deal for me The Fruit Blast!

This account has had very few exceptions in general, but the one exception I have left is the diving equipment needed for the underwater sea activities.The quest to unlock the diving equipment, however, requires a Fruit Blast, and since I can get one in the sea in my restrictions, I have to get it before I allow the exception.So once I get the Fruit Blast from the Ocean Man, I can go get the diving equipment.But like I said, he's very rare, and then I have to hit the 1 in 7 to get the Fruit Blast in particular.Come on, Fruit Blast, Fruit Blast, Fruit Blast!No!

Pineapple punch!I can absolutely confirm my crewmates do zero damage to the Krakens because of the flat armor.So we are switching boats immediately.But before we go do that, the second ever veiled Kraken kill for an Earth Battle Staff.Not great, we already have that.I think the real question is, how many repair kits does it take to get the average kill?

Because that really decides how realistic getting any of the drops I'm going for is.By the way, I want to make sure I'm repairing my boat with Jolly Jim at all times.He has maxed out deck handiness, so he actually has a chance to give my boat bonus healing, squeezing a little bit more out of each repair kit.I also need to make sure I have the crossbow on during every kill because my accuracy is so much higher when I have the crossbow on versus the Yu Longbow that I need to have on to actually hit the Krakens from a distance.Man, these are tough kills.So many repair kits being used.

I think I'm averaging like eight per kill right now.Snake Hide is my third loot.Let's go.That's the untanned version.So I don't even think that's, I don't know if they, I don't think I could do anything with that.I don't have a tanner on any islands, so.

If your name is Tanner, maybe come over to one of my islands or something.I was not kidding about the kills being tough.

At eight repair kits per kill, I'm gonna be out of repair kits by the time I hit 50 kills.That's a little over halfway to one camphor plank drop, and I need four.So far, it is not looking good.

Oh, that's actually an upgrade.Mystic Staff.It's got a little bit of extra magic accuracy over the battle staff.New best magic staff.And it's cool that it's earth too, because krakens are weak to earth.So I will maybe make use of that.

I've got the hang of luring these guys now.And once I perfect the boat navigation, I'll take less tangled kelp damage over time.Should make a difference.Oh, back to back magic upgrades.The mystic hat.Let's go.

Well, at least we're getting some cool stuff here.Slowly building our magic wardrobe.Got a Mystic Water Staff now.A little less useful, but now I can collect all the Mystic Staffs.Alright, Kraken, please cough up a Camphor Plank.I think I've accepted I just need to get stupidly lucky.

Because, man, I am just incinerating Repair Kits.Ruin legs!That's not a Camphor Plank!We'll take it though, it's money.This is very fun, and I gotta say it's especially fun because it feels like I shouldn't be able to kill these Krakens yet.Like, not only are they

boat and gear underleveled, but it's an area I shouldn't be able to access.That's just, it makes it so much more fun.I did a few more kills, got a couple more interesting drops, and eventually ended my first full trip.Damn, I look good.I ran out of repair kits, so we're back at the bank in the middle of the ocean.Now, you might be wondering why I'm suddenly hunting crabs in this next clip.

There were some rumors being tossed around.

By rumors, I mean Jagex literally announced that they were about to make a big change to sailing.Mainly, they planned on massively buffing bounty tasks, making them longer, buffing drop rates while you're on a task, and giving each port a dedicated bounty task so you can always have one.And the other update coming was finally giving a use to that strange rock we found in the charred island dungeon.These are going to be mined for rubium and used to create incendiary cannonballs.And that sounded pretty promising.I might be able to use stronger cannonballs, get more sailing XP and boosted drop rates once this update hits.

I burned through 25 % of my repair kits on a single trip to the Krakens, which means I really could use any help I can get.These updates could not come soon enough.But this means I was officially in waiting mode, the update was potentially weeks away, and all I wanted to do was kill Krakens.I was looking for some busy work.I started hunting because I still needed 45 for the Troubled Tortugan's quest.I knocked that out in just a few hours, officially just leaving 51 Slayer as my final requirement to start the quest.

I kept on hunting, mainly to keep busy on something, but slowly working my way towards 60, which I would need for a little side quest.I ran out of fish offcuts to keep hunting crabs, so the next logical step was to work on some fishing.I'll get more offcuts for hunter, and I still need 69 fishing to start deep sea trawling for the angler's paint.I went from 53 to 57 fishing, solid.

progress, and then took all my new fish offcuts back to the crabs.I've been cooking a large majority of my crabs, 50 cooking, beautiful.And there's 59 hunter.This is actually a great level because I can now go to red salamanders.That is gonna be insanely fast hunter XP if I ever need to get to a super high hunter level.I was gonna go for 60, and then I found out there's a little beverage in the pandemonium bar that boosts your hunter by 1, so I am done for now.

With a full inventory of Sailor's Mirage boosting my hunter to 60, I was on the hunt for some Eclectic Implings.It just felt like a fun little grind to go for while I wait for the updates to hit, and these guys drop Blue Dehide Traps, which are gonna buff my accuracy on the Krakens.I figure I might as well try to prep and maximize all my accuracy once this update comes, so I can really kill Krakens efficiently.Like I said, I need anything I can get.I spent a few hours in different hotspots.Karandra probably has the best spawns of any island, so I moved between a couple here and there.

Oh, I actually got lucky!Yes!

New best ranged legs on the account!This is an extra 5 range bonus over the snakeskin, which, when you think about it in terms of firing tens of thousands of cannonballs, any small change compounds pretty fast.

It was at this point I found myself at a crossroads.I can continue to use my time on sidequests, or, despite knowing there's an update to make everything easier incoming, I can go give the Krakens another shot anyway.

This trip is going to cost me multiple days of salvaging to get these repair kits back.I'm well aware of that.This is stupid, but you know what?I'm fun maxing.I'm feeling lucky.I want to kill some krakens with my new blue dehyde chaps.

I'll atone for my sins later.The krakens are doing just as much damage as ever, but I'd like to think that my blue dehyde chapsare making me hit a little bit more.Runehelm.Ooh, 17 onyx bolts.What a drop.

Okay.That's a pretty sweet drop, honestly.Well, we are about to finish our second full Kraken trip, which means I have used like 40 to 50 % of my repair kits on 30 kills.Hopefully this is something good on the final kill.No!I have so much salvaging to do to get the repair kits back.

The Krakens are just so tough, man.They are so much beefier than I even imagined.I actually prepared for this moment.I saved 10 mystery boxes for us to open to drown out the Veiled Kraken sorrows.So here we go, guys.We're only looking for lamps.

One in six chance.Nothing.Cabbage.Okay, we got one.We got one.Beautiful.

Oh, okay.We already got two.I'm very happy with that.Already very happy with two.Three!Yo, okay, I'm not even sad about the Krakens anymore.

Okay, three.That is a very nice haul.Three lamps, that almost gets me to 42 Slayer.Great news, I got a Book of Knowledge straight on Slayer.42, nine levels to go.As you guys can see, I am atoning for my sins.

I spent over half my repair kits on 30 Veiled Krakens, so I have to make up for my mistakes and patiently wait for the update.I'm going to try to prepare myself as much as possible to max out the Kraken killing potential once it drops.Yeah, 76 fletching.You are looking at the last of the steel arrow tips from my bank.Once we're done with this, we're done.We have all the steel arrows we will ever make.

fletching level 77 78 fletching no useful unlocks and that is our final level we're going to get from these arrow tips they served us well made over 200 ,000 steel arrows they got us so many range levels so many fletching levels it's been good all right that's a very long but i now have 70k steel arrows to train with there's 89 range the long long range levels i'll see you in 500k xp for 90 and there's the big 90 range that's another max hit for the krakens anything helps But damn it, the first skildy at the 90 looks good.Feels like we're getting close.43 Slayer, 8 levels to go.Ladies and gentlemen, we made it.

It's update day, which means not only did we get all the updates I mentioned, but also a new sailing quest came out today.

The Red Reef, which unfortunately requires troubled Tortugans to complete.Even more reason to keep grinding toward 51 Slayer.We're getting close.Now we have two quests locked behind the 51 Slayer.It was exciting to experience a fresh update for sailing for the first time in a long time, even though I can't do the quest that came out just yet.I stocked up my boat, brought a pickaxe, and headed over to Charred Island to explore.

This update ended up being bigger for my account than I thought.So big, in fact, that I have an absurd amount of stuff to show and explain to you that wouldn't fit in this video.So when we come back, expect a monumental episode of Doc Johnson.I'll see you soon.
