One Nation leader Pauline Hanson faces a grilling on support for Aussie battlers

Mark Riley, Senator from the Seven Network.You said in your speech that One Nation will look after working Australians.I just want to examine a little of your record.You criticised minimum wage increases.You opposed same job, same pay.You voted against casual workers' rights, wage theft, criminalisation and workplace protections for the gig economy.

And you've argued recently again for more powers for bosses to sack workers.How is any of that helping working Australians?

Well, I'd tell you, Mark, is it really working for small business out there, industries and manufacturing?And I was speaking to one business person.He said the latest increase is going to cost him $50 ,000 for his business.And he said, I've got to find $100 ,000 to pay that.He said, I'm going to have to let people go.So it is a great concern.

You need to look at the other side of the ledger.Can businesses afford and pay that?I understand there is a struggle that is happening in people being able to afford and pay their bills, but there has to be a balance.As I said, I've been in small business.This Government hasn't.Albanese and Chambas haven't.

You have to have a balance there by all means.Why has it increased in cost of living?Because of the electricity charges.That's the main thing, which has cost us business right across the whole board.Charges there.Industrial relations, I can assure you, needs a complete overhaul because it's not working.

Businesses also tell me, you can't sack people these days.They're on their phones, they don't work, they don't turn up, they actually are lazy.And businesses are tired to it.They've had enough.They want change.You talk about same pay.

If you're male or female, you do get them same pay.That's all smoke and mirrors what they're telling you.If you're an airline pilot, Male, female, you get the same pay.Your hostess, same pay.You do the work, you get the same pay.The difference is that if women take time off and they are not paid,

their wages because they're not working, fair enough.Why should business pay them if they're not at work?That's the difference.That's why the pay gap is there.
