We did a story with a woman who was told it would cost $1 ,500 to fix her $1 ,000 stove. We then heard from other viewers who say they use the same company, and after paying for repairs, their appliances still didn't work.
It's not working.
Louise Renwick's oven quit working, and she hired a repair company, which charged her almost $800 to fix it.When it still didn't work, she was told it required another repair, but there was no guarantee that would solve the problem.
I can buy a new one for $1 ,200.That's better than this stove.
She hired the A -Team Appliance Repair. The Better Business Bureau says the company has more than 700 complaints.Karen told us, we were taken for over $1 ,000 to fix an $850 dryer, and it's still not working.Girlin Galligan stayed at a resort in Collingwood and agreed to sit through a sales presentation. She bought into a timeshare, but now regrets it.She has monthly payments for the next 10 years and also has to pay annual fees.
I just want to get out of it.
Mary Lou told CTV News I have a Collingwood timeshare and after paying annual fees for 25 years, I still have another 25 years left. They want $6500 for me to exit the contract, which should not be allowed.Petro -Canada sells a season's pass that lets you wash your car every day, but recently some customers had their car wash passes cancelled. They were told they shared them on more than one smartphone, which is not allowed.
Suddenly the cart was suspended.
With CTV's help, they got refunds, but other viewers, like Nikhil, wrote, I paid $845 for a one -year wash pass.We have four cars, and after two months, Petro -Canada canceled the card and issued no refund.Terry O 'Halloran had health issues and lost his leg five years ago.He took out a $4 ,500 payday loan and was shocked after paying $200 a month for five years. He still owes $1 ,000.$3 ,700.
I know I can't continue to pay this thing.Following our story, CTV viewers came forward to pay off the loan, but others like Taylor said, I am also stuck in a $4 ,000 high -interest loan for a motorcycle I've been paying for years and the interest rate keeps going up.And it's best to avoid high -interest loans if possible. When you make payments, the bulk of the money goes to the interest and not the principal, which means it can take years to pay off even small amounts. On your side, I'm Pat Foran.
