Perth man accused of murdering Thai teen had guns seized by cops

The Perth man who allegedly murdered a 17 -year -old Thai girl had his guns taken from him by Australian police before he travelled to Thailand, with associates describing him as an aggressive loner who, quote, lived like a pig.

Simon Peter Karman left for Thailand around 8 months ago in search of a cheaper life and for back surgery after Australian doctors refused to operate on him.This is a photo we've obtained of him from 2024.He transformed himself from a morbidly obese man to a ginger beer brewer who lived in a rented apartment for around 8 months.$100 a week, where he would swim in a pool daily and walk the streets.Carmen was just moments from boarding a Jetstar flight to Perth when Thai authorities apprehended him.He's now been charged with murdering Tonchanuk Donhomla, whose body was found 10 minutes away from his residence, stuffed in a suitcase.

He's also been charged with concealing a corpse, attempting to hide the cause of death, and abduction of a minor for indecent purposes.The 17 -year -old much -loved girl was described by her father and stepmother as hardworking, good -natured, and somebody who wanted to support her family.Now, we've spoken to many of Carmen's friends and associates in the time leading up to his departure from Thailand.He'd been living on and off in a unit inside an industrial estate in the southern Perth suburb of Rockingham.He'd been living there illegally and lived off a disability pension and payments linked to injuries he suffered as a truck driver.One man from the complex said he would often ferry Carmen to medical appointments at a nearby hospital.

His wife and daughter, however, found him to be creepy.and told him not to have any more contact with Carmen.
