She's sleeping on someone's couch, Mr. Speaker.

0:03

This session is intense.Welcome back to Moose and Loose. My name is David.Today, we've got Pierre Poliev, Mark Carney, who showed up to the House of Commons going head to head here.Poliev brings up example after example of how the recession is affecting Canadians' lives. And Mark Carney laughs about it.

0:18

Other ministers on his bench also laugh about it.And Poliev's response, you got to see this.Let's jump into this.

0:24

The group of 20 nations. They're all faced with the same tariffs, wars, and energy prices.Yet 19 of the G20 countries are not in recession.

0:38

That's true.

0:39

One country is in recession. Will the leader of the only G20 country in recession please stand up?

0:55

It is not a question, it's a request. We'll go on to the next question.

1:02

Look at that, the Speaker helping Mark Carney so he doesn't have to answer questions.

1:06

Mr. Speaker, Canada has had two consecutive quarters of shrinking GDP, the only country in the G20 that can say that. We've lost 112 ,000 jobs in the first three months of this year. And that has left our country with a quarter of its people in food insecurity. Will the Prime Minister tell us whether we are in a recession or a technical recession?

1:32

Mr. Speaker, first may I wish the Leader of the Opposition a very happy birthday.

1:42

Look at this slime ball. This is the most disingenuous happy birthday I've ever seen.

1:55

in place the foundations of an economy that will be stronger, more resilient, more independent. We are seeing in the face of U .S.tariffs, in the face of global uncertainty, in the face of higher energy prices, we are seeing business investment accelerating, we are seeing wages growing twice the rate in the United States, we are seeing this country put in place the conditions for sustained prosperity.

2:20

Mr. Speaker, I appreciate his birthday wishes.I am 47.but that's 50 with inflation. But what I really want as a Christmas gift, from a birthday gift from this Prime Minister, is someone who will actually answer the question. And Canadians deserve answer, not misinformation. We've had two consecutive declining quarters of GDP growth.

2:42

We are the only country in the G7 that can say that. The only country in the G7 that has seen the economy shrink in three of the last four quarters. The only country whose GDP is smaller than it was a year ago when the Prime Minister took office. So, will he tell us, are we in a recession or a technical recession?Which is it?

3:02

Mr. Speaker, it's very painful on someone's birthday when you give them a present and they give it back to you.Mr. Speaker, I'll do a little research for the Leader of the Opposition. If you'd like to ask the C .

3:13

D.Howe Institute, they know the answer to that question.

3:15

If they'd like to ask the OECD, which today predicts that Canada will have the second strongest economy in the G7 this year and next. That is the answer, Mr. Speaker.

3:27

What he delivered was a recession. He promised he'd have the fastest growing economy in the G7.He's delivered the only recession in the G7.While Canadians line up around the street to try and collect from the food bank, this Prime Minister spends $200 ,000 on in -flight meals for just three flights, including $4 ,200 on creme brulee, $593 on luxury,Normandy buttercups. No wonder he's so out of touch with the people whose jobs he's killed.

4:01

So can he tell us, will he ground his plane and stand up and tell us, are we in a recession?

4:07

These kind of facts really hit home with people that everyday people hearing all this money spent on creme brulee and buttercups is absolutely appalling.

4:14

Mr. Speaker, Mr. Speaker, what I will tell this house is what I hear from international investors and businesses when we travel. What I heard in New York is that Canada is the most attractive destination for infrastructure investment. What I hear from major global investors who want to invest more than $100 billion in this country. What we are already seeing, which is foreign investment that's running in this country at twice the rate of any other G7.

4:42

That's not what we're seeing.American companies are buying Canadian companies or they're moving their headquarters to America.Got Melissa sharing a perfect example of this. We've got Algonquin power utilities corporations considering redomiciling to the United States currently being discussed at the company right here.West says redomiciling Algonquin as a potential solution to taxation headwinds is being discussed at the company.Either capital is fleeing our country.

5:06

They're changing their headquarters to America or American companies are just buying Canadian companies. It's not investment.Or in this case, these companies moving their headquarters out of Canada.

5:15

Mr. Speaker, obviously the multinational corporations that he is profiting are, well, very pleased with the way things are going. As for the Canadian people who are living under his recession, it's another story. They don't have $200 ,000 meals on three private flights, Mr. Speaker. They don't have tax havens so that they can shelter from the high tax burden he imposes on everyone else.He can't even bring himself to utter the word recession, even though the tech spec definition tells us that he's the only prime minister, the only leader in the G20 who's

6:06

I'll give him that. It's actually true.He is transforming the economy.to net zero. Not for our benefit.as tariffs on Canada and other partners over forced labor concerns.

6:43

It says a Trump administration is proposing that tariffs of 10 % or more imposed on products from dozens of major trading partners following probe into imports of goods allegedly made with forced labor. So it names the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Mexico, Canada, all potentially being slapped with a 10 % an additional 10 % tariff.Trump would be using a 301 tariffs to do this. And currently questioned about this today.

7:06

Good morning, Mr. Prime Minister.Good morning. We're all looking for your reaction on the tariffs.

7:10

Is the new U .S.tariff a negotiating tactic in terms of negotiations?Do you have an answer to that at all?

7:15

Well, first off, I'll note, and he can speak for himself, Minister LeBlanc had very constructive discussions with his counterpart, Ambassador Greer, yesterday in Washington, along with our chief negotiator, Janet Charrette.Secondly, with respect to these 301 tariffs, Terrorists, this is not a surprise. It's something that the U .S.has been planning for a few months.I think very importantly is that two things.

7:43

One is that the terrorists are consultants.for 30 days or 30 -plus days.Secondly, explicitly in the decision, Canada, the carve -out for Kusma is referenced and maintained. So that puts us in a position where, again, we would still have the best trade deal of any of the U .S.trade counterparts.

8:07

Here it is.Whenever it's convenient, we have the best trade deal. This was planned.Don't worry. This is no surprise here.If this is no surprise, then why isn't he getting a deal?

8:15

We have the most leverage out of any other partner of America. And this guy can't get a deal?He doesn't want to get a deal.

8:20

I want to say as well that the issue, the motivation of the U .S.action, the 301 tariffs against, or proposed tariffs against rival countries, is something that we share.Canada has a very strong legislative regime against forced labor in supply chains. We don't want any element of forced labor coming in goods and services. And we want to use our our influence to eliminate this practice of forced labor and child labor.

8:50

This guy's getting further integrated with China and has the audacity to say that.

8:54

You claim about forced labor incentive.Have you witnessed this yourself?Have you been there ever?

9:02

Have you witnessed forced labor?Since 1979.Have you witnessed forced...Just a short answer.Have you witnessed forced labor incendiary?Yes or no?

9:15

So did you get that from hearsay?

9:17

I worked closely with Human Rights Watch where researchers did witness it.

9:21

So thank you. These are the kind of clowns Carney has on his team.CCP puppets planted in the government.

9:27

The Conservatives are making it seem like you don't care about forced labor in China or you don't believe in it.What do you think of that?

9:33

Well, they like to exaggerate, always.

9:37

Was it really an exaggeration?Do you believe there is forced labour in China?

9:40

I believe there are forced labours all over the world.

9:42

Is it really a surprise Americans are bringing up this 10 % tariff?

9:45

My question for the Prime Minister is about the human cost of Canada being the only G20 country in the recession.Zara from Toronto lost her administrative job at a real estate business. She can't find a new job and now has to sleep on a friend's couch. What's the Prime Minister going to tell her if he cares enough to stand up and answer? Is he going to tell her that she's just technically homeless and technically jobless?

10:18

Wow.Look at that.Pierre's look here is unbelievably sincere.Looking at Carney with the laser eyes. This is the kind of look of a man who have seen enough of people struggling and suffering and we can fix this.We have the resources.

10:31

We're not a broke African country. It's just the liberal government choosing to impoverish us.

10:36

Mr. Speaker, I'd like to wish.

10:38

Oh, look at this.He actually stood up.So I should note recording these sessions, I pay pretty close attention.Carney never gets up for the second block.I skipped through a bunch of the French stuff. This is after the block just spoke, Carney never gets up for the second block.

10:50

He always just sits there and does nothing or he leaves.

10:54

Mr. Speaker, I'd like to wish the Leader of the Opposition a happy birthday.I hope his day improves. The government is focused on building a stronger economy. We recognize the scale of the challenges that this country is facing from abroad. We are focused on that administrator. We are focused on farmers in Battle River Crowfoot.

11:18

We are focused on a future that is stronger, durable, more independent, more resilient, more sustainable.

11:25

This guy, the start of this, just ugly.Mr. Speaker, I'd like to wish the chief of the - He couldn't help himself. This is what's called Duper's Deluxe. He takes pleasure in knowing that he's duping someone. In this case, the Canadian taxpayers trying to stick it to Polyev here.Polyev just brought up that a woman is sleeping on someone's couch because she lost her job.

And this is what he has to say.He laughs. This is the definition of Mark J. Carney. You can see this actually got Pierre. He's usually pretty calm, cool and collected. He's been in Parliament a long time.

12:38

Pierre's pissed off.I'm here for it.Him scolding Carney.Carney's response there was disgusting. So off camera, you can't see it.Carney's laughing and he's not going to get up.

12:51

So look in the bottom corner here. He's half cut off here.

12:54

Joblessness, just a technicality.

13:09

Honourable Minister of Jobs and Family.

13:14

Well, thanks, Mr. Speaker.it's not a joke when you lose your job and there's nothing there to catch you.And yet if these conservative members had their way, that's exactly what would have been facing Zara.In fact, they voted in advance ofmeasures that we put into place to protect people like Zara.

13:34

This is just appalling.Does Patty actually believe the crap coming out of her own mouth?

13:39

What I find a joke is that when this government steps up, not only to lay the foundation of prosperity for the future, but to protect people like Zara by putting into place things like modernized employment insurance, which they routinely Okay, I think we should get Zara in the House of Commons and let her give her opinion of how the Liberal government is doing.

13:59

I think that's the fair thing to do.Bring in Zara and have her in the middle of this, and she can be a part of the debate.I think it's time to bring in everyday Canadians and see what Mark Carney does.

14:08

Speaker, the question is for the Prime Minister about the real human cost of Canada being the only country in the G7 and in the G20 that is in a recession.Brad from Ontario wrote me to say that his family, hung on during the Trudeau years, but since this Liberal Prime Minister has taken over, he's now at risk of losing everything. He sold the home and had to get rid of all the savings he accumulated for his retirement. Will the Prime Minister have the decency to stand up?Look Brad in the eye and tell Brad are we in a technical recession or a real recession?

14:44

Mr. Speaker, I speak to a lot of people like Brad in my own riding of Gatineau and what they ask me is why such apparent glee?on the part of the leader of the opposition and his troops. When they march in here, Canada faces some economic headwinds from an unprovoked trade war.Blame Canada.Canada faces economic headwinds from a war in the Middle East.Blame Canada.

15:16

So what this is here is a tactic to flip what Mark Carney was just projecting out there, which is really ugly, laughing at the misery of Canadians. And he says, the Conservatives walk in with this glee. He's trying to flip that emotion onto the Conservatives. These guys are well trained. They have specialists who know human behavior and how to manipulate Canadians.

15:36

I bet they have some of the best in the world here in the Liberal Party because they're so good at manipulating Canadians.

15:40

People cannot help but notice the Leader of the Opposition and his entire bench walk in here with glee when Canada faces...

15:50

So you can hear it again, right? He sandwiched it.He started with that and then he ends with that because the human mind remembers the first thing and the last thing. That's why if you have, say, a debate that has, say, five candidates, the first one to give their final remarks and the last one to give their final remarks at the end of a debate will be remembered the most. All the ones in the middle, their points will be more forgotten. And that's why he's sandwiching this glee thing, trying to flip the script.

16:12

While McKinnon comes off as a complete buffoon, he is very well trained. He knows how to manipulate the human psyche very well.

16:20

the G20 that faces a recession while all the other countries face the same wars and tariffs, then we know that it's appropriate to blame this liberal government.

16:34

Jacqueline has no glee. She actually had to put her dog down because she can't afford the veterinary bills along with the inflation in her food, her rent, and her gas.The Prime Minister actually cares about Jacqueline. Will he stand up and answer the question, are we in a recession or a tactical recession?Which is it?

16:56

Mr. Speaker, what Canadians don't need at this time is these slogans, is these clips, is this empty rhetoric on this side of the house, Mr. Speaker.

17:06

Canadians' enduring financial struggle is not a slogan.

17:09

Jack against every inability measure on this house, Mr. Speaker.

17:20

You guys have a majority government. You can't blame the conservatives. You can ram through whatever garbage you want right now. This is just more chronic lies. You have a majority government, Champagne. No excuses.

18:22

This is one of the ugliest House of Commons sessions I've seen in the past couple of years. It's important that we recognize the critical investments that we are making in the economy of Canada right now to help these same people that the opposition mentions.

18:49

We yesterday announced investments in Quebec, in infrastructure.

18:52

This is another failed minister who's already on the chopping block.People want his job.People want him out of there because he's doing an awful job trying to deflect.Carney just sitting there like a lump on a log.

19:01

It's the same pattern with this prime minister every time.He gets a fancy title, he turns it into an absolute disaster.A tiny group of insiders get fabulously rich, making everyone else poor. And when it comes time to be accountable...he goes into hiding. Not even able to respond to Canadians who wrote letters about their economic desperation with Canada being the only G20 country in recession.

19:25

Nathan, from Ontario, lost his job and isn't sure how he's going to cover expenses for his type 1 diabetes, as severance money is now running out. Will the Prime Minister have the decency and the courage to look Nathan in the eye and tell him...

19:42

Canadians are facing impacts of change, global uncertainty and driven by US tariffs Mr. Speaker and that is why our government has a clear plan. We're diversifying trade, creating good jobs in this country.

19:56

Okay, this is just the same junk over and over. They don't answer the question.Carney's just sitting there, not answering the question. He's already exposed himself. He laughed at Canadians going broke, losing jobs, sleeping on a friend's couch. That was his response.

20:08

He laughed about it.

20:10

Mr. Speaker, we're now almost a week after Stats Canada reported that Canada had the only recession in the G20.The Prime Minister has been in hiding ever since. He has the worst attendance record in question period. While Canadians are losing their jobs.He won't even show up to do his job.I ask questions on behalf of Zara, Jacqueline, Brad, Kevin, Nathan, and countless others who don't know how they're going to pay their bills.

20:37

Will you stand up for once, own up for once, and tell us are we in a technical recession or a real recession?Which is it?

20:45

This is just appalling. So you guys can't see it.I'm going to replay this.Look down here with Dominic LeBlanc, Stephen McKinnon, and Melanie Jolie having a big laugh.

20:54

The Honourable Secretary of State for Financial Institutions.

20:59

Like, what the heck is going on here? They're hooting and hollering.Someone tell a funny joke?Oh, Canadians are going bankrupt, living in complete despair.

Mr. Speaker, Canadians don't take that party serious at all.

21:34

laughed about it.Then you got Melanie Jolie, McKinnon, and LeBlanc all laughing about it.Having a good laugh on the bench. That house session was a bit of a blood boiler. To end this episode off on a lighter note, we've got a speedboat hitting big waves off the back of, I believe this is a BC Ferry. So he comes around for a second pass here.

22:38

Summer's here, folks. He ain't bothering no one.Pirates coming for BC Ferries now?Who knows, maybe.
