PM’s hypocrisy on full display as questions grow over double standards in political funding

As if you need any reminding, the federal Labor government and, of course, its leader, Anthony Albanese, are not just peddlers of election promises they have no intention of keeping, fire the liar and all of that, but they're also rank hypocrites.We can't stop pointing this out and trying to hold them to account.And the latest example relates to political donations and billionaires.Labor can't stand the fact that Pauline Hanson and One Nation were gifted a light aircraft to help them campaign around the country.It's effectively a $1 .5 million political donation from Australia's richest resource magnate, Gina Reinhardt, who makes no secret of her support for One Nation.Now, I reckon this is the very model of how political donations should happen, because it was made public in real time.

I'm all in favour of donations as long as they're transparent and the sooner the better.Anyway, none of that is good enough for Albo.Here he was yesterday.

One Nation pretend that they stand for battlers whilst getting planes given to them by Australia's richest person while receiving donations from some of the very wealthiest people.

Billionaires and some of the wealthiest people, hey?Well, Labor pretends to stand for working families while they break promises, increase taxes and keep up wild spending that pushes inflation and interest rates up.But guess what?Labor also puts its hand out to billionaires and the nation's wealthiest people.Not only does it take millions of dollars indirectly from workers through union donations, but official disclosures show that billionaire packaging moguls, the Pratt family, have donated two lots of a million dollars.That's more than a lot.

right there.Then there's the transport billionaire, Lindsay Fox.His companies have donated half a million here, 10 grand there, and $27 ,500 over there.And let's not forget the Channel 7 mining and industrial billionaire, Kerry Stokes.His Australian capital equity entity tipped in a couple of hundred thousand dollars to Labor last year alone.And believe me, the list of donors goes on.

So what was that about the party of workers and taking money from billionaires and the wealthiest people?The fact is, Albo is a hypocrite on this, like so many other issues.His beloved Labor Party takes money from workers through the unions.It takes huge donations from billionaires, wealthy individuals and businesses.And his government likes to take money from you with tax increases he promised never to impose, if the left didn't have double standards that have none at all.
