Polish Border Guard discovered 54 migrants hidden in the cargo area of a semi-trailer truck. #news

On July 2nd, going into the 3rd of 2026, the Polish border guard in Bialystok stopped a truck at the Budzisko border crossing.Inside of the trailer, they discovered 54 migrants that were hidden in there, 30 from Pakistan, 15 from Afghanistan, and 9 from Bangladesh.Apparently, the driver was a 37 -year -old Romanian citizen, and the migrants had been transported from Latvia through Lithuania attempting to reach deeper into Western Europe.

They found the group crammed in the cargo area of a semi -tractor -trailer truck during a routine check.After some administration procedures like identification, health checks, and stuff, the entire group will be handed over to Lithuanian authorities under the Readmission Agreement, which is a standard EU procedure for returning people who cross illegally between member states.And then criminal proceedings have already started against the Romanian driver for facilitating the illegal border crossing.
