Preview: Savannah Guthrie Speaks to Hoda Kotb About Her Mother's Disappearance
TODAY
But we're going to start with something that is very personal. It has now been 53 days since Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home in the middle of the night. Hoda, yesterday you got the chance to spend some time with our girl. You sat down with Savannah, her first interview since her mother's disappearance.
Yeah, Craig, Al, and Carson, as you can imagine, it was a really emotional conversation. We're going to have the whole thing for you tomorrow and Friday, but first we did want to bring you one of the moments from the interview where Savannah shared a message to anybody who may have information about Nancy. Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony.
We are in. It is unbearable. And to think of what she went through. I wake up every night in the middle of the night. Every night. And in the darkness I imagine her terror and it is unthinkable but those
thoughts demand to be thought and I will not hide my face. But she needs to come home now.
Yes.
I mean, are you? I'm okay. I mean, she there is a desperation and also a steeliness about Savannah. I mean, she's hoping that somebody whoever this person is will see something and say something and as you'll see in the coming days, she talks about so many
things she talks about the investigation. She talks about her faith and she talks about how she's getting through that was one portion there and in the next portion, you'll see how she talks about how God's holding her hand so there and she also will describe what's been happening here but I was just I was sort of marveling that she was able to sit there with an outfit on have a conversation and also have just direct
thoughts about what what she sees going forward so gut wrenching to watch somebody love so much be still post 50 days of this tragic event. In this tortured limbo state that's exactly where yet to still show so much resilience and grace among it all.
Yeah, and she will I mean she explains to and you'll hear tomorrow, it's like no one stealing her joy. So you'll see both sides of that so we're going to her faith faith is so strong oh that's gotta be that's what sustained her out here through I mean that's it no closer to closure it's been
so long to see our friends still so tortured this far away it's a horrible
event and her brother and sister to yeah but to her point you know our only hope right now is that someone who is watching someone
who is listening, yeah, does the right thing, picks up the phone. I mean, it's up the phone. Yeah. I mean, you're going to hear a lot more from Savannah in her own words tomorrow and Friday, right here on today. Again, anyone with any
information, big or small, that could help this investigation. It is not too late. There's still time to do the right thing we urge you to call that phone number on your screen, one 800 call FBI. screen, one 800 call FBI. We'll be right back.
