RCMP warn Alberta man he’s “going to be arrested or given another ticket” for dancing on corner

If you've driven in Sherwood Park, this street corner probably looks a little empty.That's because it's missing its dancing man.The dancer under that helmet is 21 -year -old Caden Skelton.He's been stationed at the corner of Baseline Road and Sherwood Drive for a couple years.Skelton took to dancing on the street after he suffered a brain injury.

It's the main roadway here in Sherwood Park.The most amount of people drive around here, so I could impact the most amount of lives.

But Skelton's no longer moving his feet after receiving $1 ,500 worth of tickets from Strathcona County RCMP on Monday.

They gave me a stunting ticket, told me if I dance again, I'm going to be arrested or given another ticket.If I sing again, I'm going to be arrested or given another ticket.

Strathcona County RCMP tell Global News they received multiple complaints regarding dancing at a busy intersection.They say Mounties talked with him expressing safety concerns and requested he move to a safer location.When that didn't happen, police say resulted in enforcement action.

They're not giving tickets to anyone else doing what I'm doing or a different form of what I'm doing, but they're only giving it to me.

Skeleton dances in front of Sherwood Park restaurant, Sunny Side Up, and they're disappointed their dancing egg will be missing.

They love him.He comes, like people come in, they're like, we came in because of this guy, because he's making us smile.

Although they may be a little biased, his grandma and friends will also miss him dancing on the corner.

Hearing stories of how he's been really bringing joy to people, that it just really warmed my heart.

It brings joy to our lives, brings happiness, seeing someone expressing themselves in that way.

Skelton hopes he can resolve this situation with RCMP and get back to moving his feet.
