Rebuilding The WORST Team in College Football…

College Football 27's Dynasty mode got a complete overhaul, adding NIL into the mix.And along with the new game is two brand new teams, the Sacramento State Hornets and the North Dakota State Bisons.So to kick the new season and all the new features off, I'm doing the hardest rebuild in this game, the Bisons.

So if you look at the top right, you can see our Dynasty points budget, that's our NIL money.And the maximum for the Bisons is 1 ,425.Contrast that with the Ohio State Buckeyes 12, thousand five hundred and you can understand why this is going to be very difficult.The job difficulty is very high.We have no conference championships, national championships or zero and zero in bowl games.No Heisman winners.

We're basically starting from scratch.Now, even though our max budget is a thousand four hundred, it shows you how it's currently allocated.Our roster is eating up about four hundred.Our facilities are eating up about four hundred and the staff set two hundred.And on top of that, our athletic director has some expectations for me.He wants me to be ranked.

in the top 25 within the next five seasons.I'll be honest, I don't know how possible that is yet.Here's our school grades.I mean, we're in the Mountain West, so we have some conference prestige, but we've got a hard F in athletic facilities and championship contention.

This rebuild doesn't end until we win a national championship, and I do not care how long that takes.

I'm gonna make a brand new head coach, and we've got three options.We can be a motivator, a recruiter, or a tactician, and I feel like a recruiter has to be the obvious choice here.We have no talent at this program, and I don't have the pockets of Alabama or Ohio State.If we're gonna pull this off, I have to recruit the talents of legendary head coach, Barry McOchner.We'll start out with a five -year contract, which is when my AD expects we'll be top 25, so good luck, Barry.You're gonna need it.

Now, this is my first ever rebuild, so I'm gonna learn everything on the fly.Our first order of business is our dynasty blueprints, where we can hire staff, manage facilities, recruit, manage our roster, and look at the budget entirely.Now, my strategy, I see it as,he's to do is hire an assistant contract analyst.It's 150 NIL Schmeckels, but this will reduce NIL expectations from recruits as well as players on my roster by 10%.I think in the long run, that's going to be super, super good.

And with one star team prestige, I can only hire one dude.So this is my guy.Look at Barry McOchner, dude.What a dog.My next question is just how bad is our roster?Actually a lot better than than I thought.

Overall is a really tricky metric in this game because we're clearly not actually a 69 average overall.This kid's an 87, 83, 82.Like my starters are certainly better than a 69.I'm sure if you get into scrub territory, it gets a little ugly.We've actually got a really solid red shirt junior halfback, 83 overall.He's got decent stats.

I mean, for North Dakota State, this guy's looking pretty good.Our biggest position of interest right now is quarterback.Our quarterback situation is pitiful.Our red shirt senior is a 74 overall, drops off to 68, 66.Xander Smith is a red shirt freshman and he's actually, he actually has a lot of room to improve.This guy could end up pretty decent by his senior year if he sticks around.

Pretty much everything's kind of mid here.You know, North Dakota State's actually produced some good players.I think Gray Zable was North Dakota State.Trey Lapdance was North Dakota State.And here's Griffin Empey.This dude is a one star out of high school, but he's an 87 overall and he does not like the play style.

Griffin, I've got bad news for you, buddy.It is all downhill from here.Just kidding.Recruiting is obviously a little different, too, because every placehas an expected NIL offer.And if you go over that, you can increase your chance to sign them.

Actually, we don't have a lot of NIL to spend.I low -key like this two -star quarterback though.Emmanuel Slaughter.He's out of Kentucky.He's a backfield creator.Moderately fast.

His accuracies are pretty solid.His throw power is really good.So he expects 30 in NIL.If I doubled that, if I went all the way up to 60, he's very interested in the offer.I don't know if this is the right call, but he's heavily leaning towards Purdue right now And I think I'm just gonna have to learn the hard way.I'm sending the house Let's see what we can do to get a manual slaughter on the bison.

I got to remember to upgrade Barry McOchner Of course, I think the easiest thing I can do right now is just dump a point into pretty much every single position here as a recruiter This will make every single position take less time to fully scout got a hundred to spend here So summer quarterbacks probably should have done that before I scouted a manual as you can tell this is my first rebuild running back Wide receivers and tight ends offensive line.I feel like we got to always have a good o -line at North Dakota State I feel like that'll be lower accurate go d -line next and then let's go DB's actually I'll do linebackers last and I'll probably just hold off on kicker punter I'm sorry But that is just not a luxury that we're looking into right now at North Dakota State if I want to be an elite recruiter I have to sign two top five recruiting classes.So if you guys want to stick around to the year 2075 I'm sure we can get that done season is actually off to a pretty good start.We're two and O in our first two simulated games.We're on the road against Air Force, and I'm actually looking good on some prospects right now.It's just me in Sac State going for this left edge rusher, Tavon Horn.

Honestly, my team is comprised right now of mostly one star players.So if I can land some two stars and just slowly but surely build up this overall, I feel like that's going to be the way to go.With NIL now reaching far outside of your team's capability for recruiting is honestly really hard.I feel like in the last couple of years, you could kind of snipe a four or fivefive star just by scheming the system, but it ain't as easy anymore.So even like Emmanuel Slaughter, I literally doubled this dude's NIL offer, doubled it.

Purdue still has a pretty big edge on me. I can schedule him a visit, though.I think this will be important.A win against Wyoming would be huge in week five to land Emmanuel Slaughter.So I'll schedule his visit then.Luckily, he is interested in Conference Prestige, which is literally the only thing I have even a moderate chance in.Pro potential is an a -minus, but he doesn't care about that.

So schedule a visit and we'll give him a little tour of all the trophies that we don't have.I love that that's what the action is for schedule a tour is to do a trophy tour when We literally don't have any, so he can look at an empty fucking cabinet and then come to North Dakota.It's actually a really good start to the season.We are four and oh, we're undefeated heading into this Wyoming game.And this is a crucial one.I'm going to hold myself to only play like big games each season.

And on top of that, there is a brand new mode in Dynasty this year called coach mode.Hopefully I can take a little whack at it right here if I set it up properly.But the Cowboys versus the Bison, I'm going to play just the moment and I might have coach mode set up right now, so I'll be able to take a look at it.That's one other.It's one other crucial thing about North Dakota skate you guys this is the worst stadium ever I don't know if this is their real -life stadium, but number one.It's indoors number two They have blue seats if you want to talk about the worst color combo of all time Give me green bright yellow and royal blue seats.

This looks like high school track stadium It's looks like Janis in Fieldhouse.Oh, yeah, that's coach mode.Take a look at this This is coach mode right here.You're watching the moment As Logan Larson sacks Wyoming's quarterback Now this is gonna be really different for dynasty this year.I do like to play the moments I do like to play myself, but if you enable coach mode You're actually able to call the play set adjustments and then you literally get the POV of you as coachin the back line.

So I can still make adjustments.It's a little awkward because it zooms you onto the field.So I wouldn't say this is a perfect product by any means, but we've never had this feature before.Honestly, we probably did have this feature like 15 years ago.Then they took it away and then they gave it back to us.But we've never had this feature in college football 25 on next gen. It's actually so sick to call the plays and watch your team execute it.

One of the biggest issues with simulation in the past Was that your team would just call the stupidest plays ever and you just had to sit there and watch as they threw The game away, but now on second and four I can actually orchestrate this entire drive So if I end up losing the game, it's because of my own poor planning Let's go with a run play here second and four and I just gonna let these guys go to work here I'm still able to audible you basically have all the controls that you would normally have If you're wondering how to do this, by the way, all you do is go into dynasty settings.There is a button for coach mode.By default, it is off.All you got to do is turn it on.That's it.Just go into your settings before you boot up your dynasty coach mode enabled.

So now we're looking at a second and a call time out here.I think we're in a shotgun pass scenario.I think the other thing we'll notice with coach mode is I have to imagine there are certain plays and playbooks that are just incredibly good.I think as more people play this game in coach mode, gets used more and more.We're going to find really good playbooks to be able to beat better and better programs, which will be very helpful when we end up in a bowl game against an absolute powerhouse or, you know, Alabama decides to put us on their schedule.Also, you got to love the immersion of the fact that nobody is here.

I mean, we're undefeated and on fourth and four here.Do we put this puppy away?Still zero to zero.But I do think the pun is the right call.It's nice to have the option to go for it.But hey, look at this stadium.

To give you guys a little inside baseball, I want these videos to be entertaining, but the reality of rebuilding a really small program in College Football 27 is it takes like 30 hours.So obviously I simulate more stuff than I normally would if I was playing offline.I think I might have been 7 -0 and then dropped two straight games, 7 or 8 -0.Actually, I can check.I'm going to go check because I was ranked top 25 at some point.I got all of my 80 expectations in the first season.

This is so big.Dude, my old Dominion rebuild from College Football 25 literally literally took 28 hours.So I've carved out the whole day for this.All I'm saying is I'm very happy right now.Our blueprint budget has been refreshed.So this is the end of season recap, Kansas State Wildcats.

Nobody ever builds a stadium in like three seconds.Okay good facilities are getting better.And if you take a look at my max cap on my dynasty points, budget is way higher.When we started this, it was 1435.Now it's up to 2750.That's awesome.

Now this is where things get super tricky.The risk of leaving on players is infinitely higher than it was last year, because as these players are balling out, they're expecting more NIL.Griffin Empy literally wants me to double his shit to keep him.I don't know if that's worth it.140 more NIL points to retain a left guard.It would be very Nebraska of me.

Honestly, this is our best guy.I'm not willing to lose him.And then DJ Scott, his current is 80, expects 90.I'm actually going to go above that because I really want to retain him.I would love to have one very superstar playmaker.Keenan Wilson, that's 110.

So using NIL money to retain these players was essential, but getting access to more NIL moneywas really the most important thing.And let me show you the big parts of my blueprint that help with that.Number one, I just switched to talent acquisition because if you look at my Dynasty Points budget, the maximum is 6 ,200 now.That is literally four times more than we started this rebuild with, which is awesome.One of the big reasons for that was fundraising department.

This was an option I had in my support staff.The upfront cost was super expensive, $1 ,250.50 NIL, but it gives you a dynasty points increase of 1700 at the end of season recap.So I thought that was essential.I'm really glad I went with that.The next thing is I took director of player personnel to gold tier.

It's very expensive.It's a thousand NIL, but it reduces NIL expectations on all recruits and all players on our roster by 20%.We don't have Ohio state money.So this felt crucial.Another thing that helped out a lot was upgrading our facilities year over year.When we were struggling, I didn't feel like wasting NIL money on transfer portal players when we couldn't win.

anything anyway.So I just took our facility all the way up to a premier facility.It's still North Dakota State, but I'm happy we got it.Obviously, our coach skills helped a lot too.Recruiter was absolutely the right call.We have every recruiter tier almost fully maxed out outside of kickers and punters.

Ironically, we always have good kickers and punters, so I feel like that is kind of pointless.Then I've also got points in the motivator tree.Motivator tree, I think my favorite part of this is tier three, which gives your position groups and off -season training boost.So your guys will go into off -season like a 75 overall and sometimes they can come back at like an 82 or 83 just because of the offseason training boost and then it's Amplified by motivators.I've always really liked that I should mention if you have MVP plus you get rainmaker, which is a coach archetype exclusive to MVP plus I am not using this that shit is so stupid the fact that EA would include a fully paywalled coach archetype behind MVP plus is so fucked up So in none of my rebuilds will I ever use this get fucked EA that's insane Like, what are we doing?Now, let's talk about this.

Redshirt senior Mitch Rasmussen is our highest overall player, and this is one of the craziest wide receiver builds I've actually ever seen in my whole life.This dude is one of the slowest starting wide receivers in college football.

84 speed and 80 excel.His hands are only 89, but he has 99 catch in traffic and 95 spectacular catch.He's actually kind of a fucking monster.

Like, the fact that everything upgraded is all dumped and concentrated in one spot actually makes him super, super good.And on top of that, gave this dude Platinum Tier Surehands, which is one of the best abilities, increased reception chance for wide receivers and tight ends.He's also got Silver Tier 50 -50 and Silver Tier Press Pro.I'm so sad this is our only season with him, to be honest.I think the next most important player on this team is actually not a senior, he's a junior.Christian Kaufman, our lefty.

Backfield creator quarterback got this kid out of Tucson, Arizona And he actually can improve still his accuracies are already great, but they can get better and he's kind of slow That's like the only thing that's not great about him is he's relatively slow But he's got a lot to improve in quickness and as for physical abilities He has gold tier pulldown and silver tier mobile Deadeye The reason I'm highlighting these players is because when you recruit and retain you're a small program There are so many seasons where I felt like no matter what I did I just couldn't really succeed but in a season like this where we're way better than most Most of our best players are all seniors.We have to capitalize on a big season like this, get as much out of it as we can to snowball that success into an eventual playoff run.And then I think there's one absolute hidden gem monster on this team that we can't forget about.Now, most of my wide receivers are red shirt seniors.In fact, I have too many wide receivers, but hidden in there is Gideon Mond.He low -key looks like a goober, but his only deal breaker is proximity to home and he's got elite dev.

first player on our North Dakota State roster that has elite dev trait.On top of that, his ratings are mainly uncapped.

He's already pretty fast, but his quicknessis uncapped.And then his power is uncapped.This guy could be the 99th speed in Excel and be a menace in the open field.

I'm really excited for Gideon Mon.The one position I desperately love but fell very short on is halfback.I have not been able to recruit or land a good halfback.So that's something I want to shore up in the transfer portal or potentially finally recruit someone who's actually good.My starting running back is 72 overall.That's crazy.

He's also ass.My fastest running back on this team has 81 speed.That's so pitiful.Defensively, my starters are okay.LaMichael Wimbley is our Mike linebacker who I will use a lot.My strong side and weak side linebackers are much better.

Lamar Thrash is looking good.He's only a junior.And our weak side linebacker, Sidney Fontuz is also a junior.So we'll retain all of our linebacker talent.And now that I look at it, honestly, a lot of our defensive good players are juniors.Glenn Boger here has got 84 speed 80 XL, which isn't very impressive, but at least he'll come back for senior year.

And he'll get that off -season training boost too.Taking a look at our 33 schedule, we actually kick off the year at Boise State, who's already ranked and probably the best team in the Mountain West.And we've also got Oklahoma on the schedule.I think the only realistic way that we make the playoffs is with a maximum of one loss.

We are not Ohio State or Oklahoma.We cannot sneak into the playoffs without doing something very legitimate.So I don't know that this is our playoff run.But if we beat Boise State, accepted our loss to Oklahoma and won the Mountain West Championship, it actually would be possible.I am going to start this season by playing our Boise State game and enabling coach mode.

That's also crazy.Now that we have recruiter maxed out and we're a two and a half star program, I've got a hard commit from a three star corner and we haven't even played a game yet.That is I didn't not expect that pop up at all.That's huge.Here's a look at our recruiting board.By the way, you can already tell this is so much better from the start.

It is a combination of the recruiter skill tree and the fact that we're a two and a half star program, but there's just so many better playerson this that we didn't have in the past.Literally any of these running backs would be so much better than we have.Like George Skaggs has 88 speed, which would instantly make him the best running back on my team and is not even close.Oh, what about Malachi, though?All three of them look solid.

Like I'm kind of sad that we lost to Boise State, but they're undefeated and they're in the playoffs and we didn't lose them by that much.We kind of choked it.So maybe that is a good sign.

Recruiting went very well, too.We landed a ton of three stars and I got both Malachi figures and George Skaggs.Skaggs is 100 % just going to be the starter next season.

We'll see how that plays out, but we still have good wide receivers.I thought wide receiver was gonna take a huge, huge hit, but our top three wide receivers are 80, 79, and 78 and 10.Take a look at Gideon Mond.Gideon Mond was actually really expensive to re -sign, even as a sophomore, but he's already up to a 78 overall.Gideon Mond is gonna be the best player on this team.But what we really have is a lot more speed.

Bradley Kafka, 93 speed, 94 Excel.Our number one ride receiver, KC, has got 90 speed, and then there's Gideon Mond as well.Now, I was super excited about the hat back room.George Skaggs is gonna be the starter.He's only a freshman.He's a 65 overall, which isn't great, but I think 88 speed and 88 Excel alone is gonna make a huge difference here.

get this kid into the starting slot.Well, our team on paper is a lower overall, but I think we're better this season.Schedule -wise, I mean, this sucks.Number four, Indiana.That's probably going to be a nightmare game, but check this out.We start the season playing the FCS West and look who is notably not on our schedule, Boise State.

If there was ever a season where we could really go to the college football playoffs, I think we got to accept our loss against either Indiana or UConn, potentially both.We've got to sweep the Mountain West.We've got to win the conference championship game.

If we can do all of that, this might be our year.And that is a very, ooh, number 11?You've been invited to play in the Mountain West Championship in week one against San Jose State.Did we beat Indiana?No, we did not beat Indiana.

The Buckeyes win the National Championship, and I don't know how many more windows the North Dakota State Bison will have.Now, I said I wanted to play that on coach mode because it felt ethical, but I tell you what, it would be really, really difficult to beat that program.I think if I could run it back, I don't think that we made any bad play call decisions.I think Ohio State is just really damn good.And I think I'd probably need to rebuild North Dakota State for another 10 or 11 years before I could win that game with coach mode enabled.Obviously, I could play the moments myself and make it happen but I gotta say I'm really proud of this team with coach mode enabled we had an 8 to 14 against Ohio State if we could have stopped Tracy Streeter on those runs we would have had a chance to win it but Ohio State sealed the deal on us 8 to 22 that was such a fun game though and coach mode is really really cool it just sucks in a scenario like this where the odds are already stacked against you and they don't understand down and distance very well I honestly I honestly think that is a perfect place to retire Barry McCochner.

If we pop into our trophy room, we have some really cool things to show for this rebuild.

The Peach Bowl trophy against Clemson, the Cotton Bowl against SMU, the Mountain West against San Jose State, and the Arizona Bowl trophy against Toledo.That was all this season.Let's not forget where we came from, you guys.We won the Armed Forces Bowl against ECU.We won the famous Idaho Potato Bowl against San Jose State.We won the Arizona Bowl in our first season against Akron.

Christian Kaufman has a Mountain West career record, passing yards for North Dakota State at 14 ,869.He also has passing touchdowns.He really did have a spectacular career.

When it's all said and done for Barry McOchner, he's level 34.

And although we fell short in the national championship, I'm so proud of this team.
