Reporter Calls Out Carney's Lies in Front of Every Premier

Wow, Carney just got called out.Welcome back to Moose on the Loose.Today, during a press conference with all the premiers there, Mark Carney gets called out for lying to Canadians about the Gordie Howe Bridge.We've got people coming at Carney from all different angles here.Let's jump into this.Starting this episode off from the National Post, we've got Ford calling again to block oil potash exports to the US.

Why?Why, Doug?We already know how this ends.Somebody send Doug Ford off to his Muskoka cabin and get him away from the microphone.In other news, we've got Rebel News billboard truck being investigated for alleged h -crime after bill c -9 has been passed and just a little refresher bill c -9 finally came into effect july 18th so just a couple of days ago this is the h -crime law and apparently there are people being contacted emailed called by the police for statements, for comments they've made on social media years ago.Something else the news here I haven't touched on is Mark Carney congratulating Andy Burnham becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Now, Andy Burnham knows Mark Carney from his days back when he was the governor of the Bank of England.So I'm not really surprised here.We've got Andy right here.The odds are against debt strapped Britain's new Labour PM.So he took over for Starmer.Mark Carney knows this guy.

Mark Carney, I'm sure, is friends with this guy.And with that, we've got Anita Nand over in the UK.UK, saying there's no relationship in the world quite like the one between Canada and the United Kingdom, built on shared history, common values, etc.Of course, they're trying to bring in closer ties.What are they doing over there right now?So just another photo op thing here, but I'm not surprised.

Carney sends her over right away as soon as Andy gets in.They're working on something.We'll keep tabs on this.Moving ahead.We've got all the premiers lined up.Mark Carney meeting with them.

Moving ahead.We got some words of wisdom from Mark Carney regarding the tariffs.

As everyone knows, on Monday, the U .administration announced its intention to impose the latest in a series of unilateral unwarranted trade actions.And we're clear Canadian governments around this table will do whatever it takes to defend and support our families, our workers, and our businesses.

Everything, absolutely everything except for starting formal negotiations.Not going to do that.Are Canadians taking this guy serious?Like, I just worry that Canadians are not paying attention.Like, oh yeah, Carney's fighting for us.And I mean, clearly he's not.

Let's also be clear that we are in a stronger position than we were when this trade war started 18 months ago.

That's right.So when Justin Trudeau was teeing off against Donald Trump, we had tariffs put on.Carney gets in and those tariffs double.and Carney thinks we're in a better position.I mean, just think of this.Justin Trudeau was a better prime minister for Canada than Mark Carney.

This is not my opinion.This is just based on factual numbers and data based on the tariffs with Donald Trump in America.Trudeau was better for us than Mark Carney.And he has the audacity to say that we're better off today than we were a year ago.Another lie.

We're in a stronger position because of the determination of Canadians themselves.And I will say this, because of the focus of the premiers around.this table.

Oh, that's right.Determination and focus.That's going to get us through this situation.Well, he sells out our country to America, to China, to everywhere and anywhere else.Europe.What a massive failure Canadians did by electing this guy.

And I also have a cottage in Quebec, so I'll see what I can do.

Now, before we get to the digital idea, I just want to play that.He says he has a cottage in Quebec.I didn't know that.

In January, we agreed to bring in digital verification for tradespeople by the spring of next year.

the best advantages of provincial legislation.The Committee on Internal Trade will begin that work this summer.If we get this right, a nurse licensed in Ontario moves to Nova Scotia will be able to start caring for patients right away.A manufacturer in B .C.who's already approved to sell engineered wood for homes in Alberta will be able to sell it anywhere in Canada instead of waiting years for that.

It's workers and goods moving freely, growing our prosperity.

This is an embarrassment, like the fact that you can't just move province and work.Like, come on.This is what he promised last year.They still haven't done it.Moving ahead, we got Carney getting called out for lying to Canadians about the Gordie Howe Bridge.Listen to this word salad answer.

Now, it starts off with two voices overlapping here, but just listen carefully.And as he starts getting asked this question, what does he do?He touches his face, but he very frequently and consistently does this whenever a lie is involved.

on July 12 that the splitting of profits or net revenue with the U .S.from the Gordie Howe Bridge would only happen after accounting for the debt of the bridge, but that's not what the text of the new deal says.So, was that a lie and were you downplaying your concessions to Trump?

Thank you for the question.First, let's be clear about what the deal is and isn't with respect to the bridge.And the first thing is, this is a good deal.This is a good deal for Canadian businesses, workers.It's a good deal for the future of our commerce with them.Put in context, There is about $300 billion a year of trade on the land border, land link between Michigan and Ontario.

And Premier Ford knows every dime of that trade.He's got it tracked.So $300 billion, a huge amount of trade.So this creates an important link.And it's an absolute, you know, it's an engineering marvel, and it's a testament to the workers who created it.So that's.

Secondly, the underlying agreement So when politicians do this, as all engineering marvel in this case of the bridge, he's trying to attach his credibility to very highly successful people.In the case, the bridge builders and the engineers for designing and building this, he just got called out for being a liar.So now he's trying to take and he's trying to borrow credibility from someone else that is credible.This is a smart tactic.Dirty politicians use this because, well, he knows he's in down in the dumps right now.He's got to get credibility from somewhere and it's not coming from himself.

Between Canada and Canada.and Michigan remains in place.That's the underlying full -text weighty agreement.I'm illustrating the, you know, the thickness of that agreement.It's in the public domain.Under that agreement, there is no splitting of tolls under that agreement, which is what I was referring to, perhaps imperfectly, but there's no splitting of tolls under that agreement until all of the debt is repaid, debt from Canada.

For reference, and it depends on how much traffic and, you know, those various sensitivities.But for reference, that's about 50 years.It takes about 50 years for that to kick in.In parallel with this, there is an agreement in principle, which was published earlier this week, between Canada and the United States.And under that agreement, there is a sharing of net revenues after operating expenses, various other expenses, not including debt repayment.That's I should have been clear, that's referred to in the Michigan agreement with respect to tolls, but that is under the parallel agreement.

But the sharing of proceeds with the United States goes into economic development that would support traffic ultimately on the bridge.

So what he's trying to say here is, I mean, what's happened is the bridge has two agreements.One is with Canada, Ontario and Michigan, and then the other one is with Canada and the United States, the U .S.government with Trump, the federal administration.So he's saying the first agreement that still stands 50 years, the bridge gets paid off.But then there's the other agreement.

He's kind of like mix matching the pieces of one agreement to the other.He knew what he was doing, trying to trick Canadians, saying that the debt servicing costs would be paid back first and then the money would be split.But that's not the truth.And now he's just trying to say, well, the other agreement is different than the federal agreement, and I should have been more clear.There's nothing clear about what he's saying here whatsoever.He got caught for lying to Canadians.

And what is he doing?He's doubling down with more lies, backtracking.

It's an alignment of incentives.The combination of that agreement and the sharing under that, it is a very marginal impact on the overall economics.OK, very marginal.Because it takes time for traffic to ramp up, there's various costs, there's various sharing, it gets fed back in.And to put it in order of magnitude, it's less than 5 % in present value of the overall cost of developing the bridge.So that's the overall what it is, what it isn't.

And yeah, could I have explained it better on a Sunday morning at Stampede?Yeah.With a cowboy hat on?Yes, I could have explained it better.And I explained it better in London, Ontario at GDLS, but I appreciate the opportunity.And Premier Ford would like to say something.

It's interesting.He says London, Ontario, where the average Canadian would just assume London because, well, London is a city in Canada.But he has to clarify because we know his love for London, England, not to mention I showed you earlier, Andy Berman.He's thinking about London, England a lot right now because Berman's in there and Berman will be favorable to his net zero policies.Burnham, Burnham.I keep calling him Berman.

Regardless here, this word salad answer.He's basically saying the deal with Michigan revenues get split after it's paid off.But the deal with the White House, that's going getting split before debt servicing, but he's trying to mix match the two.We know this guy's lying to us.He intentionally did this just for a soundbite to make himself look good.He's a disingenuous charlatan.

getting $300 billion of goods across the border to create more opportunities, more jobs.Michigan is Ontario's number one trading partner with over $70 billion, a two -way trade.It's critical for the auto sector, it's critical for auto part manufacturers, and it's critical for all manufacturers that this bridge gets opened.

Yeah, so Doug Ford just going to put his arm around Mark Carney and say, yeah, yeah, he's a great guy.He's doing a great job.And Doug Ford is going to wonder why he's going to lose the next election.Moving ahead, we got Jasmine clipping this one from CBC.We've got this guy here, Ron Kubik, who owns a wine company.Listen to this straight up truth on the CBC.

Ron, let's start with this new wave of tariffs being threatened by Trump in retaliation to Canada taking American booze off the shelves.As a business owner, what do you make of this move?

Well, first, we were very dismayed, and I had to work with my U .S.rep, who is now putting together another order so we can get it down there before the new tariffs.But the ironic thing is, Chris, is that the 50 percent tariff that Mr. Trump is wanting to put on is still less than what every other province puts on us in Canada.And so, you know, the illusion or the free trade illusion that's coming out of Charlottetown is really just that.I mean, this is just taking what they had said they were going to do last year and they're just regurgitating it and repackaging it, but it's still nothing.

But the fact is, is that it says the legal loopholes for allowing me to ship my wine across the country means I've got to get registered, register every wine, do all these different things.But it still keeps the provincial markups in place.So if the premiers were serious, they would really open up Canada as an answer to Mr. Trump.But they're not.They haven't.It's a free trade illusion what they're doing right now.

Well, this guy is straight up just saying that what they're doing is a whole lot of hokey pokey.And the CBC is like, oh, quickly get this guy off the air.That's not all we got.This one to James Blanchard, former U .S.ambassador to Canada.

Did somebody set off the cuckoo clock?

Donald Trump thinks the world kind of began when he was born.This is a man who is not only jealous of Mark Carney or he I mean, he's jealous of John Kennedy.I mean, he actually had the Kennedy name supplemented with his name in the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D .C.We're not dealing with a normal politician, normal elected official.Look, all of us who run for office have a big ego.

I admit it.I enjoyed it.But in return, you have to do something for the people.for the country, for your state.And these things are all destructive measures, in my opinion.And I applaud Candace's patience.

You don't deserve this.But think how we feel.This guy's our president.He's going to be president for two more years.I think the Democrats will have a big victory in November, by the way, so there'll be some guardrails.And I would say that the Congress bipartisan passed a resolution.
