Revisiting the “twins,” now 13-years-old: “We're twins because we share the same soul'

Finally tonight on the road and the story of a pair of twins who really aren't twins.Just don't try to tell them that.Here's Steve Hartman.

At a party in Miami, Gia Sarnicola and Zuri Copeland celebrated their 13th birthday together.A bond of sisterhood that has defied the cynics for almost a decade now.

We have a bond that we think no one else can break.Red.I know.

We first met Gia and Zuri back in 2017, back when they were in preschool, back when they both sincerely believed that they were twins.

Oh yeah.

Ashley and Valencia are their moms.

They will tell you that they are twins and they have a long list of reasons why to back it up.

To them, what makes a twin?

Similarities.Similarities.

For example, the girls told me that their birthdays are practically the same day and the obvious physical similarities.So what am I looking at here?

The same height.

Oh, because you're the same height.Clearly twins.which is why they also insisted on matching outfits whenever possible.Ashley and Valencia indulged them, but they also recognized that there was some bitter to this suite.

You know, you're happy for, you know, for a few seconds and then you become sad because they have to grow up and then society takes over.

Indeed, society definitely tried to take over.Zuri and Gia were at a birthday party when an older kid told him they couldn't be twins because they don't have the same skin color.Gia broke down, but through her tears she got out this rebuttal.She said, you don't know what you're talking about.We're twins because we share the same soul.

I just get chill bumps.

Soul.

I was just like thrown by just that word.

Yeah, obviously what Gio was trying to say is that at our core we are one lesson.The girls continue to hold dear.

I think the moral is to never let people get in between a genuine friendship and don't let anyone break what you have.

Some girls that would actually and we aren't today.

They no longer believe that literally, but little else has changed.

If I came back there, would you now let me have ice cream?

Maybe.
