Russia's Propagandists are Panicking About Crimea Right Now

Like many of you, I've been watching the war in Ukraine for years now.I have watched literally hundreds of daily battlefield updates following the ebbs and flows of the war.And every time a new topic about the war has come out, I have probably read multiple different articles on that topic, from every perspective that I could possibly find.That has given me a pretty good feel for how this war actually goes.A very good, broad perspective, but also a perspective that is dialed in on the details.And let me tell you, what is happening right now is unlike anything we've ever seen in this entire war.

Ukraine is being absolutely effective right now.And in fact, they just launched a new campaign that in under a month has been more successful than even people with wild ambitions dared to imagine.In under a month, Ukraine has launched Logistics Lockdown and they have effectively cut off an entire peninsula, the peninsula of Crimea, from receiving food, and fuel, and water, and electricity, and everything else.A place that is home to two and a half million people, and a place that Russia itself has clearly invested in as one of the single most important objectives of this entire war.It is looking really, really bad for the Russians, and the pace at which Ukraine is doing this is just absolutely insane.So it's not a surprise at all that the Russians have had a response to this.

And their response, unlike the campaign that Ukraine is doing, is actually the exact same response we've seen several times throughout this war.It's not really surprising.I have noticed, as I've watched the ebbs and flows of this war, that every time Ukraine starts taking ground, every time Ukraine starts doing something important and strategic, because that draws new attention onto the war, people who haven't been paying attention, Russia tries to divert that attention and captureas much as possible for itself and its own narratives.To try to convince people that Ukraine isn't actually winning, they're just delaying their inevitable defeat.And that is exactly what's happening right now, as Russia is reusing old propaganda narratives that have already failed dozens and dozens and dozens of times in the past.

But there is something new about Russia's desperation right now, at least something that I personally have noticed.And that is the ramp up in personal threats that Russia is making to YouTubers like myself.I guess I can't verify this for any other YouTuber, but me personally, ever since I started making videos about Crimea the past couple of days, I have seen just an increase in the threats that I'm receiving, the insults I'm receiving, the spam and the bots and the viruses, all the things that are being flung at me, trying to target me, trying to wear down my own personal spirits and to bring me down because clearly Russia is very upset and very bothered that people are reporting on the demise of their most important peninsula.Right now, to try to take the wind out of Ukraine's sails and to try to distract from their massive momentum, Russia is trying to draw all eyes to a place called Kostiantynivka.A place that Russia first entered the outskirts of all the way back in October of 2025.And the narrative right now is one that we've seen before a hundred times.

The city is about to fall imminently, and once the city falls, Russia will somehow, magically, have access to all of the territories behind it.It's the same thing we saw in Pokrovsk and Chasov Yar, cities that held out for years and years, despite very confident media headlines, that the cities were on their last legs and the cities were about to fall.This was used as part of Russia's pressure campaign, especially on Western mediaand Western politicians, trying to convince them that Russia was making slow but steady progress, and their crawl forward was inevitable.We see that again today, with Russians essentially claiming that they may as well have already captured the city of Kostiantynivka, with them saying that because they have merely a little over a hundred soldiers within the city limits, the city may as well already be Russian.On the other hand, though, we do see the Ukrainian commanders painting a different picture.

They are actually calm, and they are actually confident, and they're saying, actually, you know, there's combat in the city, but the situation is under control.And at most, we're seeing the Russian soldiers crawl forward at approximately a maximum of maybe a hundred meters, a hundred yards a day.

And this is Russia's big, brilliant strategy.To portray this as a victory that is somehow greater than the complete lockdown of the entire peninsula of Crimea.

A hundred soldiers moving a hundred yards in a city where even if they managed to take it, they would just come up against the next position, and then the next one, and the next one after that, is supposed to be more valuable than the fact that Ukraine, in under a month, cut off an entire peninsula of two and a half million people, and they're just getting started.But even more than that, let's reflect on the fact that this peninsula of Crimea is a very precious target to Russia.So it's actually one of their most heavily defended targets, with air defense absolutely everywhere.And Ukraine has actually been provoking the Russians lately by taking pictures of heavily defended targets, proving that they can actually get to these targets and destroy them rather easily if they want to.I'm mainly talking here about the Crimea.Strait Bridge, where Ukraine has taken several photos from several different angles, making a really ominous sign and signal that, hey, we could and maybe we will take this out very, very, very soon.

It's a really, really stark picture.But what's also stark about this, and really, really ironic, is that if Russia does lose Crimea, which currently it seems like eventually they really will, not even exaggerating, they really will.Russia only has one Crimea, and Crimea is where this war started, and it's the place that Ukraine said is the place where the war will end.

On the flip side though, if Ukraine loses Konstantinovka, they have several cities just like it, and Russia will have to continue to break themselves against those targets again and again and again and again to make any progress forward.

And you see here the vast contrast between reality and what Russia wants you to think.I've actually seen some really ironic comments on my videos lately that I can only assume come from Russian bots or Russian trolls, claiming that Ukraine's entire campaign against Crimea is just a propaganda campaign, a little smokescreen to distract from how bad the situation on the front lines really is.They are claiming that Ukraine has done a month long, sustained campaign where they destroy maybe a hundred Russian fuel tankers or other logistics vehicles every day is literally just Ukraine trying to distract from an area, a part of the battlefield, where there are 100 Russian soldiers who have infiltrated a single city.And the reason that comment is so ironic is because obviously it's the reverse.The reasonthat Russia is trying to draw so much attention to the front lines right now is actually because they're trying to distract attention from what's happening on Crimea.

Now this is not a hard conclusion to arrive at.One of the things that has just stunned me about this entire campaign on Crimea is not that it's happening, but actually the fact that there are Russians who still continue to go there.Despite the fact that Crimea's grocery store shelves are all but empty, despite the fact that there is literally, officially, according to Russian governing authorities, no fuel available for civilians or businesses of any kind, despite all of this, Russians are still going to Crimea for their regular summer vacations.And this tells you something incredibly important.You have to ask yourself, why are they all arriving there?And the reason is very simple.

The Russian government has refused to give a travel advisory, telling Russians to avoid the peninsula of Crimea.And the reason that they have refused to do that is because they would rather deny that the entire problem is even happening.They would rather their own citizens arrive there and get stuck without food or fuel or even water very soon, than to give a broadcast that would be seen by the broader nation.that would actually confirm to people that there's actually a problem going on here.And this tells you all you need to know about how Russia is conducting their information campaign internally.They will do anything to deny reality, to keep as big a group of Russians as possible completely oblivious.

So that when Russians see videos of long gas queues on Crimea, or Russians see videos ofpeople literally pushing their cars in Crimea.The Russian government can just say, well, this is just fake news.This is all just Ukrainian propaganda.These are doctored images.These are AI -powered images.

Everybody knows Russia's winning and we're the most powerful ever.

So if you see anything that could even possibly challenge that idea, it's clearly propaganda.

And Russia has done a very, very good job at actually convincing the Russians of this.And that is why people are still driving to Crimea for a vacation, even though the place has literally become a war zone.Russia then has actually become the society from 1984, the book or the movie if you're somehow not familiar with it.The society where people will believe the state before they will believe their own eyes.And if there's actually a contrast there with what the state says and what they're actually seeing, they will disbelieve their own eyes before they disbelieve the state.This is really happening right now.

And it shows you that for many people in Russia, the situation is actually a lot more dystopian than a lot of people have given it credit for.There are a lot of people who are so deeply entrenched in the lies of the state that they that they find it impossible to escape that in their own line of thinking.And the level of cognitive dissonance is actually truly, truly stunning.In such a society, it would not be a surprise at all, and it is not a surprise at all, to see the kind of tactics that we're currently seeing, where they're trying to draw attention to a portion of the battlefield that is far, far less productive and far, far less significant, and try to convince you that that's where the real story is, so that you look there, Instead of where they're getting absolutely toasted, absolutely burned.and where things are getting worse minute by minute, hour by hour.That is exactly what's happening right now.

And as I said, this has been the trend throughout the entire war.Russia is really afraid right now.And you can always see their fear because they always get more desperate.You can always see Russia's fear when they talk about their momentum the most.And the more that Russia talks about their momentum, Typically, it seems, the more afraid they actually are.This is what happens when somebody is a liar.

If people aren't questioning their lie, they don't feel like they have to do much.But once they get trapped in the lie, they just start lying left and right about things that they don't even have to lie about because they're panicking.And that's exactly what's happening right now.The Russian military effort is disintegrating.Now, has it completely collapsed?No, it hasn't.

Will we still see Russian progress in certain sectors on the front line?Of course.This is a war.These kinds of things happen.But what you have to ask is the question that Russia never wants you to ask.What is the actual strategic significance of what Russia wants you to look at?

And what is the actual strategic significance of the thing that they don't want you to look at and where they'll throw up smoke and mirrors wherever possible to ensure that your eyes never meet that place's gaze?

Again, what we're talking about today is how Russia desperately wants you to look at 100 Russian soldiers who have advanced 100 yards, so that you ignore how Ukraine has cut off two and a half million Russians, including thousands upon thousands upon thousands of soldiers, from fuel and from supplies of any kind.The two are not the same.Even if Ukraine is losing,worse than we can imagine in that other sector, the two are not the same.And that's what's important to remember.That's why I have this channel right here, to continue giving you perspective and logic that I think holds up and is sound, no matter how much the Russians want to attack it.
