Scotland fans take over Fenway Park during Red Sox game

The sound of bagpipes filled the air for Scottish Heritage Night at Fenway Park, many of the fans still celebrating Scotland's win over Haiti.Boston 25 News reporter Michael Raimondi is live outside the park and Michael, Boston has really been their playground this weekend.

They are certainly becoming the story here in the city to the start of this World's Cup.The Red Sox right now trailing in the bottom of the ninth inning, but the Scottish fans who are here, they're really the story and they are here to have a great time.to Fenway Park.plans down.Coming to Fenway was the thing to do.

Yeah, that's what we were told.Yeah, I'll have the lobster roll as well.I've been here for four days now.I'm not a hot dog yet.I'm gagging for it, you know.

And most of this group really wasn't too sure how baseball even works.

How many innings is it?Nine.Oh, you're having a laugh.You're going to have to stay.Oh, definitely.Once I get my t -shirt, I'm off.

But they stick together, no matter what.Some of those marching, didn't even have tickets for the game.They just wanted to be with their countrymen and show their Scottish pride.Scotland being here the last few days has been the story in our city.How does that make you feel?

Amazing.We're proud to be where we're from.We're here representing our country and we love our country.

And you could hear that pride during the game broadcast tonight.You could hear chants of no Scotland, no party and where we are.a few hundred yards away from Fenway Park, we could hear them sitting in our car editing that story together.So they're certainly a proud group of people and the fun doesn't stop tonight.A lot of them are staying through the next few days to the end of the week and they're going back for game two, Scotland against Morocco down in Foxborough on Friday.Reporting live in Boston tonight, I'm Michael Raimondi for your local station, Boston 25 News.
