Who rorts the rules?The politicians.National Senator Bridget McKenzie, a couple of years ago, in fact it was three years ago now, went down to Tasmania, she gave an interview to a local newspaper about Labor's alleged underfunding of Tasmanian infrastructure, and then amazingly on the Saturday night of the weekend that she was down there, her son's wedding took place.Now look, The whole trip probably cost the taxpayer about $1 ,000.So it's not much money in the grand scheme of things.Bridget McKenzie repaid about 30 % of that.

But what I find astonishing, and I don't believe this passes the pub test, is are we really expected to believe that there was vital parliamentary business in Tasmania on the same weekend that the senator's son happened to be getting married?And the answer is, of course not.The trip was manufactured.I'm just so sick of it.And every time the politicians say, oh, well, this fits in with the parliamentary rules on travel.Well, who sets the rules?
