Skate 4 Finally Came Out and It's Weird

After so many years, Skate 4 has finally come out into early access. And there's a lot of fiery debate around this with some people believing that it's terrible and some saying that it's great. I played it for two hours last night, and I think, above all else, the game is just malnourished. Like, there's not a whole lot to do in it. Like, I feel pretty confident I got everything this game currently has to offer in just those two hours. Luckily it is free, like I didn't have to pay for the early access or anything like that, so that's nice.

The gameplay loop is, you go do the challenges which levels up your store. Rinse and repeat, so then you just get like cosmetics. That seems to be all that is offered in here. It's just a big giant sandbox. Which does have its perks perks like it is fun like the gameplay is fun the glitches in this game carry it though this game has

glitches I've never seen before in any other game even by like skate standards where there are some fucking unbelievable glitches in like skate 3 this blows it out of the water I had so much fun with the glitches probably more so than anything else now overall I think the game is fine. Like, I don't love it, but I didn't dislike it either. It just doesn't have a whole lot to do in it right now.

Even by early access standards, this feels really early. I do hate the art style, though. I'll tell you that much. I do not like the way the game looks. I don't know, I feel like they dropped the ball at this game. No skate, no spot battle, no haul of meat. Just feels like sandbox Tony Hawk, not a skate game. That I can definitely see. Like I agree, like I do think the gameplay is solid. I really love the glitches. Glitches are fucking amazing. That being said, this feels so, so incomplete even for early access standards. The gameplay loop is you go do the challenges, when you finish the challenge you unlock more in the shop. That's it.
