On a serious note, after my last video about Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, my feed decided that it needed to be full of new information about these two people. My algorithm is absolutely the weirdest place to be right now. It's currently eating videos and not eating videos, as it turns out.

That was an eating disorder joke. Now laugh. Anyway, the more information that I have learned against my will, more or less, about these two women has really demonstrated to me how much weirder all of the wicked stuff has gotten. I feel like I laid out the groundwork of their bizarreness in my first video about this which again I will link in the description box but now I

realize that I have more things to say especially about the thinness on set and the thinness of everybody involved here which I sort of glossed over the first time. So buckle up. For those of you who need a little bit of catching up, the two Wicked films, one released in 2024 and the other very recently in 2025, came with a series of completely bizarre media interviews with the leading ladies Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

During said interviews, the pair cried at the drop of a hat. They clung to each other. Clung is a weird word, wow. I do not like that.

They expressed deep devotion and admiration for one another.

It's been a pleasure working with you. It's been a pleasure spending time with you. It's been a pleasure getting to know you. And I hope you will be there for the rest of my life. I will be there for the rest of my life. I will be and I hope you will be too and it's been the privilege of my life.

Leading a lot of people to assume that this is some sort of co-dependent gay relationship. And I didn't really get into it too much last time because I was too busy being uncomfortable with all of the love touches. But now I've had a little bit of time to mull it over. I've had time to look at the bajillion wicked fangirl posts that are dominating my feed and the whole thing is just so much more bizarre than I originally realized. Fun fact, one of my really really good friends who uh watches my videos, which is really nice of him, he sent me a message and he was like, hey dude, I am watching your video about the wicked people

and I am so deeply uncomfortable. I don't know if I can finish it. Well, friend and everybody else, this may be worse. Because really I have gathered you all together here to do one thing, suffer. So as much as Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo

want to pretend to be healthy.

I can hold some of that for you with you and vice versa. We wanted to just be there for each other and be healthy and be honest and be present.

It is very very clear from their appearances alone that they are not okay. And while their odd relationship is constantly being mistaken for a romantic one. I don't actually think that's the case. I think what we're seeing are two individuals who are trauma bonded and a little bit loony because they are probably on drugs, honestly, and uh more importantly they are starving. You know how angry you get when you haven't eaten all day? You get a little bit of the hangries. This is like that except times a thousand. And they're not angry, they're just insane. And if you don't believe me

let me remind you all of how they talked about filming. Like this.

It was very painful. Yeah. Yeah it's it's funny because you know that you're performing of course you're acting but your body doesn't quite know the difference so that that grief kind of comes home with you and it was just kind of a very cloudy few days and then it felt really like foggy yeah I was out of like body but yeah it's it feels real to

our bodies and to our hearts. Once again ladies you didn't fight in Afghanistan you just have a significant lack of nutrients. And actually, having a lack of anything you need is completely terrible. Like good audio for your loved ones this Christmas. But you can fix that with Raycon.

Some of the fan edits that I found in my travels demonstrate what seems to be this complete and utter codependency between these two. Negatively eyeballing fans, hugging Ariana, negatively eyeballing her struggling to open

water bottles, constantly wanting to grab at her and grab at each other. People also made a series of meme videos about this that focused on how absolutely emaciated these two look. Obviously in addition to their strange behaviour.

Ariana, is it true they didn't feed you on the set of Wicked? Don't you f***ing touch her, you f***ing kill you, b***h! I'll f***ing kill you!

So, Ariana, you've just- Oh, there's a fly on your face. Let me just get that for you. No! Please, don't.

But it's on your eye now.

She's watching. There we go. No fly in the eye.

She's mine! This video was actually liked by Ariana's own publicist which a bunch of people decided to read into but I don't want to go there. I mean the charitable interpretation is that he liked it because he's pictured and involved in it I presume that's who the male character is. The non-charitable interpretation is that it's depicting truth.

I have questions. Now, obviously this pair of people getting skinnier and skinnier has become a real focal point online. I saw a bunch of tweets while making this video where people asked why we're all collectively ignoring this and pretending it's not happening.

We aren't. It's obvious to anyone with eyeballs. Ariana these days just looks frail. Early clips of both parties show them looking fit and healthy compared to how gaunt they look right now. In my travels on the internet, I came to learn that people with disordered eating behaviour often gravitate towards others who mirror those same behaviours. The restriction, the rituals, the hyper focus on food and weight. It creates an intense, almost like addictive closeness.

I didn't know that was happening. Apparently, psychologists call this mirroring. That's actually very hard to say. Mirroring. Mirroring. Okay. All right, Sydney. Studies actually show that when two people in this sort of headspace spend huge amounts

of time together under stress, the behaviors can actually escalate quite significantly. And I mean, like, of course, you have a multi-year movie shoot with pandemic delays and strike shutdowns and 12-hour harness days and constant media scrutiny, that's definitely the perfect incubator for this absolute insanity.

If you had to describe each other's aura, what colour would it be?

That's a nice question, an aura.

Yellow. For me, sunshine. Yeah.

And like also, I think there's also purple. That was very good.

I see like, like a sea blue. You know, like, thank you. I'm so moved by that response.

I still maintain that this is how you act when you've done a bunch of ecstasy. You guys cannot convince me otherwise. This is obviously complete speculation, of course, but I do think that this dynamic, this psychological whatever it is, is what is underpinning this duo's very strange behavior together, the constant weeping during both press tours and all of the overly protective moments that keep going viral.

And it's not just me who thinks this. I have seen a lot of women online, especially who formerly had issues with food who've been commenting on this like, ah, is it familiar?

I remember having an eating disorder in high school and absolutely everything made me cry. And this is why Ariana and Cynthia are crying in all of their interviews. Because I think what people don't understand and they're questioning this behavior,

when your body is starved, it is under stress to the level where it is going to put you in that fight or flight cycle. And when you are in that fight or flight cycle, you cannot regulate your emotions. Emotional sensitivity is a symptom of a dysregulated nervous system so when you're starving, binging, purging, obsessively thinking about food

this is going to keep your body in a chronic state of stress and when the nervous system is overloaded the emotional part of your brain, the amygdala is going to become hyper reactive. So that means you are going to cry easily, you are going to feel overwhelmed easily, small things feel catastrophic, literally your body is saying something is not safe because you are starving yourself.

Then you have moments like Cynthia physically pulling a fan away from Ariana in November of this year. And actually, you know what, like I said before, I really get this one. But I think it's weird because then she goes on to like clutch her like, oh my god, actually, you know what this reminds me of? Ryuk from Death Note. I can't unsee it now. Also, this image absolutely takes me out. It's just, this is so threatening. Good grief.

Or there's the clip of Cynthia fixing Ariana's necklace mid-interview like a mother with a toddler. These two have also gone ahead and gotten four matching tattoos, four good written on their palms so the words touch when they hold hands. Okay, this one is extremely gay. I mean the early 2000s use of the word, okay? Although if I'm thinking about it and being realistic,

this is both gay and gay. We have for good on our hands. For good. And they, now that's

in like, we got them on opposite so when we hold hands they touch. They got poppy flowers

on their hands for the fields of Oz I guess and hearts on the back of their legs with the letters E and G. So Ariana has an E and Cynthia has a G for, I guess, their last names. They also got one secret fourth design that they've described only as intense. Okay, that is, okay, super normal. Which I also think is fairly bizarre. I mean, look, admittedly, I don't have any tattoos. I just have my shrapnel ears and some body piercings so I don't know you guys are gonna have to tell me is this normal? Is that I don't I don't think it is. This feels strange to me a lot. Maybe I could understand calling a tattoo intense that you share with

another human being if you've done something together like I don't know fight in a war. I do try to be charitable and reasonable and fair because yeah I mean maybe your tattoos mean a lot to you and you talk about them in this weird esoteric kind of way but equally why are the theater kids so dramatic? Why are they this way? Apparently Wicked's director John M Chu said that it was hardcore and intense to get tattoos

together partway through filming. This dude is also really weird, but we'll come back to him. But he is right about this. And everything about these two feels weird and frantic, but also in a way that's sort of strained. Something I noticed watching a million of their interviews is that Cynthia predominantly almost tries to like...

It's almost like she's trying to finish Ariana's sentences she'll often speak alongside her and it's just it's very strange because it's a failure to launch

we did have a very real conversation at the very beginning about taking care of each other if something's up tell me yeah and i can hold some of that for you, with you. And vice versa. We wanted to-

You're as good- We like eating cat food. It's tasty.

Yeah.

You have been the light of the day. You are such a gift.

You brought such light into the room. Thank you very much.

We appreciate it.

You can just not say anything. There's a running joke online that Cynthia is literally starving Ariana because she's always hovering acting like a sort of a keeper. One TikTok that got millions of views is captioned, Cynthia is starving Ariana.

She won't let anyone else near her plate. Fans and casual bystanders even like yours truly are getting quite alarmed. I've actually seen a lot of people compare Ariana's current frame to Eugenia Cooney, who for those of you who aren't familiar, is a former YouTuber and I guess now TikToker, who clearly has significant issues with food and obviously, you know, by today's standards,

she's very, very, very, very, very, very, very thin, but you know, in the past, she looked more comparable to how Ariana kind of looks now. I am sorry for talking around it YouTube still gets weird about eating situations although only when it relates to skinny people. It's completely fine with morbid obesity. Eugenia for years told everybody that she's fine and this is just her body and this is how she looks,

but we've all watched her progressively get thinner and thinner. And now people say every year that this is her last year, you know, of life. I look at both Ariana and Cynthia and I think that they look incredibly ill.

And I have to imagine, like, it makes sense to me that they're caught in some sort of food orientated feedback loop with each other among other things of course. And you know I'm kind of looking at this from the perspective of a lifelong string bean because thankfully I'm really tall like I'm you know somewhere in the realm of almost six foot so when I was in school I was really really really thin

and so I was like okay well, well, let me go back and look at what I looked like because at least I can compare directly. And I never looked like this. I never had bones sticking out in all places. Like these shoulder bones, never had them sticking out

even when I was tiny, tiny, tiny. And so I think that's really what indicates to me that this is beyond just being naturally thin or putting a lot of effort into getting fit in the gym. This is, this feels very restrictive to me. This is a long-winded way of me saying that there are people who are in fact naturally thin and who you know look really good when they're on the smaller side and they carry that really nicely and then there are people

who put a lot of effort into being thin, and it means that their bones protrude, which, uh, you know, for a lot of these folks is what they want, just to be perfectly clear. Um, and they're not prioritizing health, and they, they're just not well. They're really not well. And watching old interviews of both ladies, especially Ariana, it's really clear that they've both dropped extreme amounts of weight. At the 2025 VMAs, Ariana made a joke about not being able to lift her award,

and half the internet didn't realize that this was a joke, because she genuinely does not look strong enough to lift it. And Ariana specifically has addressed a lot of these concerns around her weight as well, both in the past and now actually. In late November, 2025, she posted on Instagram a reminder that we shouldn't feel so comfortable talking about people's appearances. And she shared a clip from an interview she did in late 2024.

And I think in today's society, there's a comfortability that we shouldn't have at all, commenting on others' looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes or health or how they present themselves, you know, from what you're wearing to your body to your face to your everything. There's a comfortability that people have commenting on that that I think is really

dangerous. This will surprise none of you, but I do actually agree that celebrities probably do get sometimes unfairly analyzed. Hell, I'm a nobody and I see the weirdest things about people analyzing my life and me on the internet. And I'm like, this, what do you mean?

I learn crazy things about myself every day on the internet. Like that I'm born in Sydney and have six toes on each toe. Anyway, online criticism definitely goes with the territory. You know, the bigger the audience that you have, especially as an actual celebrity, the more people are going to throw mud at you

and throw crap at you. And you know, I do empathize with these people. That has to be, that has to be a lot. I don't think that that we as human beings were supposed to be exposed to this much feedback about ourselves. But that said, unfortunately, when you're a woman and you're in the public eye and you lose a ton of weight and it's very obvious what you're doing, you become sort of thin-spiration for the young mentally ill girls on the internet. And that's, that's not great.

Ariana actually made similar comments a while back where she pointed to these like viral side-by-side photos that people were making of her in the past and her now. And she said that the healthy version of her that everybody romanticizes, so basically the version of her

that had a little bit more weight on her bones, said that, pictures were taken when she was deep in antidepressants, drinking heavily, and in her words, the unhealthiest version of herself. It's also probably worth noting that she's been a vegan since around, what, 2013-ish, which honestly is a bit of a joke in ED circles because there's an observable anorexic to vegan pipeline that people get on and uh you know

Cynthia Erivo is also vegan so do with that information what you will. Whenever concern comes up online there is a portion of this fan base that screams about body shaming and look yes some of the comments being made here are are cruel and they're obviously not made with good intentions. But the majority of people here I I would argue, are not mocking Ariana and or Cynthia. They are asking that the people in these women's lives actually intervene and do something. There's also a lot of speculation floating around that Ariana Grande at least has had an ED or an eating schmishmorder for a long

time. So many people have posted about her old Tumblr blog, which was basically dedicated to being skinny and body checking images and all of this. There's also one clip that I found from a few years ago where her Italian grandma made a comment about how she hasn't eaten anything all day.

And I think this goes above and beyond how Italian grandmas are like, hey, eat all the food in the kitchen, otherwise you might fade away and die.

See you eat all day today. What did you eat?

Right, right.

You didn't eat all day. That is all they say.

And I'm expecting somehow that all of this behavior, that this perfect storm of what the heck was exacerbated on the set of Wicked. I found a weird article where Jeff Goldblum says that director John M. Chu had an impact on him changing his diet and becoming vegan. Ariana and Cynthia are also vegan just to reiterate. And Michelle Yeoh, who was also in Wicked, is also now extremely skinny.

And honestly at this point I wouldn't be surprised if she's vegan too. And obviously at this juncture all we can do is speculate about all of this but I do really look forward to the Netflix documentary that's going to be dropping in about five years. I'm sure it's gonna be great. So like tons of people who have commented on this, I am positive that something very strange happened on the set of Wicked

and I am also very sure that something weird continues to happen between Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Somehow despite talking for this long this video doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the weirdness between these two and actually I mean I don't know if you guys be interested in this but there's a part of me that kind of wants to make a standalone video about Ariana because there's a lot there. And remember we're a drama channel now so we're allowed to talk about these things. The fact that most main players

involved in this film have lost a ton of weight is weird. The fact that everyone is suddenly a vegan is weird. The whole thing gives me weird, culty vibes. But all in all, I think it's clear that the two leading ladies here are caught in some sort of like ED vice grip that's causing them to behave like absolute crazy people during every press interview that they do. Relying so heavily on each other to make it through as well. Cause remember guys, they've been to Afghanistan. In the end, absolutely nothing healthy is

happening here and the fact that so many people cannot correctly identify that this is not okay is quite alarming to me. But who knows, maybe now that the films are wrapped and these women can get some time and space from each other, maybe they will grow to be better, well-adjusted people when they're not feeding into each other's psychosis.
