US companies are sending a warning to American consumers. Prepare for prices to go up. The Wall Street Journal reports that Hormel Foods, JM Smucker and Ace Hardware are among a handful of major companies who say they are raising prices for a number of reasons including tariffs and retailers that have already had tariff related price increases include Walmart, Target and Best Buy. They say expect even more in the future. NBC's Christine Romans joins us. Okay, when, what, how much?

I mean every week the prices increase for all of these companies. Their costs increase. And so far, they've been really holding on as much as they can and not passing them along. But they're beginning to pass them along and warn that they will. Ace Hardware Stores says its costs are increasing. It's thousands of hardware stores will start to pass on higher prices.

At Hormel, you're looking at a lot of different prices. They said for pork and for beef and for nuts, all of those prices have been rising on their end, so there will be strategic price increases there. And Smucker's, that's the Jif and Folgers owner, they've already raised coffee prices, and they will do so again.

That's a commodities issue, but you also look at beef prices at record highs. I mean, it's a remarkable beef prices are up 11 or 12% since last year. Some restaurants are now going to be start talking about whether they have to raise menu prices because all of their costs are increasing because of commodities and because of tariffs.

And second of all, Donald Trump is surrounded by a bunch of loser yes men.

It's definitely happening. You see complete moral collapse of the United States government. The cabinet meeting with three and a half hours of superficial praise is so cringe worthy. He's attacking the Fed. He's attacking all of our institutions. He's eliminating FEMA. It is horrifying that he is putting troops against American citizens because he claims that he's the law and order president. But we all know that's a lie because he's a convicted felon.

He pardons convicted felons. He surrounds himself with obsequious people that kiss his ass all day, every day. It's nauseating and painful to see how weak he is to Vladimir Putin and others. He wants to cook the books. He wants to control everything. This isn't a limited government guy. This is not a law and order guy. This is a guy who has redecorated the oval a la Marie Antoinette style and is building himself a

ballroom because he has zero intention of leaving. And the more Americans realize this, the more

prepared we can be. And now reporters just revealed something strange going on at the White House. Take a look at today's top story. Reporters just noticed something strange about President Donald Trump. He's disappeared from public view. Since Tuesday, the president has not been seen in person by the press, and the White House schedule shows zero public events through the weekend.

That means for several days running, the president of the United States has effectively gone dark.
