Y'all want to know why textbooks work so well? Once I get through chapter one I'm now at chapter two, but guess what I can go back to? Chapter one. Like what means I'm done? Done does not mean you understand. I

1000% agree with this person and I'm so curious as to what my fellow moms think about our kids just using Chromebooks and just technology in school cuz like I Really feel like we need to go back to paper and textbooks. A little story time like my daughter came home from school the other day and she was like mom I need help with science I have a test coming up and I just don't understand it and I was like okay well do you have a textbook do you have like an info packet or like notes that you took in class like what

can we review to get you ready for this test and she was like, it's all in my Google Classroom. And I was like, okay, well, let's pull it up. And she's like, it's unit five. So if you click on this link, you can see there's 5.1. You know, this link is 5.2. And so we need to know everything in unit five. And I said, okay, let's pull it up. And we're, you know, looking at the Chromebook

and trying to read this. And so you guys are gonna call me old school, but I was like, I'm gonna print this out. Okay, Melody, I'm gonna print this out. So I printed out 5.1, staple, 5.2, staple, 5.3, staple. And then finally we sat down

and we started reading the notes. And all of a sudden she was like highlighting stuff. She was underlining words she wanted to remember. She was circling stuff and even like the equations that they had to calculate. She was doing them on the side of the paper.

And she was writing her little notes and all this stuff. And all of a sudden I could see like it was clicking for her and she was like, oh, I get it mom. Like I get it. I understand kinetic energy, I understand why the energy is moving from this to this. And I was like, that's great.

And even the night before the test, she was in bed going through the papers, just looking at it. It was the first time I saw my daughter fully comprehending science. And just like this person said,

she was like, these kids just wanna get it done, submit, get it done, submit. And my daughter is the same way, like with her homework, she just wants to get it done without thinking. Like even with math, she's not thinking about, she doesn't care about why the formula is the formula. She just wants to know the formula,

plug in the numbers, get it done. And so like when it came to test time she got a whole bunch of them wrong and I was like Melody you don't know the formula for this? She's like well I forgot it so what do you expect me to do? And I was like well you don't know why the formula is the formula? Like you know what I mean? So they're just they're just not understanding so you you know what I mean? So they're just they're just not understanding so you know I'm doing the best I can.
