Supreme Court Just Legalized Gerrymandering

The Supreme Court just officially blessed gerrymandering. They handed Texas a six to three win, locking in their gerrymandered map for the 2026 midterms. And effectively, they gave every state in the country the green light to do the exact same thing. Because initially, the three judge panel,

including a Trump appointed judge, had ruled that Texas relied way too much on race while redrawing its map. And while the liberal justices on the Supreme Court agreed, the DOJ went with that. And their reasoning was that the group suing Texas

didn't extend lawmakers the presumption of legislative good faith. Which look, the reason the redistricting happened in the middle of a decade is because Trump told Texas to do it. That's the opposite of good faith.

But the court also said that the plaintiffs failed to five seats. California has already responded with their own gerrymander to flip five seats back. Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia, they're all in. And we also just got a glimpse of what's happening in Florida. So now every election from now on, it's looking like it's becoming an arms race over who can rig their map the worst.
