You know, Tom, one of the things that always makes me smile is the fact that, you know, the mainstream media, when they can't get their own way, they very quickly turn on people.You know the sort of thing I mean.We've seen it behind the scenes with Lou Swimming, you know.

It's just interesting the way that they're all supposed to be the very best of friends on that panel.Oh, we love each other.We've got each other's back.

We're definitely, yeah, yeah, yeah.Absolutely loathe one another because it's about airtime.It's about staying on camera.And it's about picking up the three to five thousand pounds per episode that you get if you are a peer, right?And this is the thing.Now, the deals that happen with the mainstream media are very strange indeed, let me tell you, Thomas, because clearly when you want to get in with somebody, you align yourself and you agree to do all sorts of stuff to make sure that they will come on your show eventually.

There are sort of rarities in the fact that if you have the biggest sort of rated chat show, then you can get the guests.For instance, if you look at Claudia Winkleman, debacle recently on the BBC as a chat show hostess.People were not willing to go on.She was an unknown quantity.It was a very badly executed thing.But do not forget this was put together by Graham Norton and his production team.

And likewise, his own quiz, The Neighbourhood, was an absolute disaster over on ITV.So what you're really learning about is it's quite limited talent in front of the camera, unless you've got a script and you've got very good guests that you can bring on all at once and get them to interact.The reason why I highlight this is, of course, if you are getting somebody like the former royal known as Prince Harry, it's vital that you get them on side.But what's interesting is now, they've decided that Prince Harry needs to be rinse and repeat.And this is because they've already put themselves out there, made things as welcoming as they can, and then at the 11th hour, Harry's team decided, we don't want you, we're going to go down this route.

Listen, don't you think I don't like rhubarb crumble?I used to make my own.Yes, Chums.We used to have inexplicably a rhubarb plant in the corner of the garden.I think it was the guy that lived there before us, you know, and I didn't know what it was.You know, when you're a kid, what's that red thing?

sticking out.And my mum said, oh that's rhubarb.You don't like it unless there's sugar in it, do you?It's a little bitter.But once it started to thrive, oh, I used to make my own rhubarb crumbles.They were so easy in those days, chums, because you could just pick the rhubarb, and this is, you know, climatey, isn't it?

Pick the rhubarb, wash it, chop it, and then, of course, you just put it in a bowl, bit of sugar, and one of those instant crumble packs, which I don't think you can get now, put it in the oven, lashings of custard, Absolutely delicious.Many of you shared other ones that you like, apple crumble.As I said chums, I love them all.That's the problem, right?I love them all and custard and a dollop of cream if you could.You couldn't have it at your amount.

You'd say your age, my age now, because, oh no, you know, it's heart attack city stuff, isn't it?Better not, you know, it's just, just keep it as thin as you can.That's the problem.All the good stuff goes when you get a bit older, isn't it?It's a bit like this, a tenuous link, you might say.

This is because ITV, if you remember earlier this year, ITV were very, very gushing towards Prince Harry, right?And this was because, quite frankly, you know, they went over to Ukraine, and this was the infamous interview, really, where he was pitched the question, which he knew about in advance, about him being a working royal, you know, this sort of thing.Do you know that phrase at all, Harry, ten minutes later?Yes.Yeah, I'll always be a working royal.This is what I was born to do.

Didn't say that when he dashed off onto the Freedom Flight, of course.But, you know, times are hard and you've gotmove back in, particularly when you've got a mega bill looming from the Daily Mail.Now, this was the sort of icebox ticker ahead of his visit last month in July back here to the United Kingdom.And much was vaulted about this visit.You know, if you remember, ITV News were all over this.

Now, do not forget that the head now of ITV News, because they've trimmed the fat, as it were, is also the presenter of the very little -watched News at Ten, Tom Bradby.He was the man that decided to, you know, stake his place, if you like, and dump William and Catherine by sticking along with Meghan and Harry.And going along, you know, and I can understand this on a journalistic level, if I'm honest, that he decided the bigger picture of Meghan's, you know, not many people have asked that thing.I could see where he was going with that at that time, but very ill -advised, given the fact that she will always just remain a cable TV The actress, Catherine, will become our queen, right?And you've... you know, bend a friendship for this.Now, what's interesting was, as I said, this is the bits that make me smile.

They also have, in case you didn't know, a sort of podcast over on ITV, very similar to all the other ones where they sit around a table talking about royals and, you know, that sort of stuff.It's headed by this woman, Charlene White.She sort of came to fame basically by refusing to wear a poppy on screen to honour the many people that sacrificed their lives for her to be able to sit here in England, reading the news from an autocue.That's the level we've got, right?That's my opinion.And it's interesting because she's also one of the hosts of the now failing Loose Women.

So you kind of think, hmm, right idea for this type of thing?Possibly not, but this is ITV.Now what's interesting, this particular channel also decided to sort of kick back a little bit on Harry and Meghan, the very first time.So why did they decide to do it?

Well, it's quite simple, right?And, you know, I told you about this and this is the thing, I love sharing this stuff on our show with you chums.

This is because when Harry came over here, they were hopeful of getting an interview with Harry, you know, when he sort of was dashing around going to see things for Invictus and stuff like that.And if you remember, he came out of that meeting and everybody was stood outside waiting with microphones, including Chris Ship.And the idea really was that he was going to get a one -to -one, fingers crossed.I feel a bit sorry for him, in fact, because then, at the 11th hour, Harry decided to bin all of the chats and go down the line with This Morning and Alison Hammond.Why did he decide to do it?Well, it's quite simple.

It's ratings.Talking Royals does nothing.ITV News does really nothing in terms of yet, you know, we'll get some clicks online.They were hopeful that this morning might, you know, sort of drive a bit more.But also, the real reason why is that, as I said, there's a battle going on between Alison Hammond and Cat Deely.And also, Harry was guaranteed all of these questions in advance.

So all of the, oh, what was the question again?No, you'd forgotten it, you mean.everything was agreed in advance and so ITV decided that this morning their brand which is now trailing through the main sort of artery if you like of their broadcasting in the morning well that's the reason why Harry went to them and truly that's the reason why you've seen a few more prickly bits on their podcast miffed that they didn't get asked and of course this can only get worse as Harry's decided he likes Alison Hammond we know that because he told us his kids watched Junior Bake Off and more importantly decided to Picker, if you recall, to mimic when he was on the Stephen Colbert show.
