The United Stand19 views

Hello, everybody.Welcome to the United stands.I'm Mark Goldbridge. This is your latest Manchester United transfer news, and we've got some big topics to discuss tonight. We'll be talking about Chiomini and how that deal is moving closer, thanks to reports coming in from Spain. Also, we'll be talking about Lucas Bergwall the midfielder from Spurs who is a basically put in a transfer request today Is this now another midfield option that man United should be sure should be looking at I really like this player I've mentioned it a lot.

0:30

Also.He is a boyhood man United fan So is this not what man United are meant to do go for players that only want man United where there's no bidding war?I mean, you know surely it makes sense and There is a bit of a live chat poll.Would you go Belayber?Would you go Bergvall?Because there is a Ben Jacobs update today as well, saying that Man United will not get involved in paying big prices.

0:52

And if that's the case, they may move to Berg or Berg or Belayber. So quite a few bits to get into on the show. It's all about the B's, isn't it?It's all about the B's.Hmm.Belayber, Bergvall, Berg and Boohoo Man.

1:07

1:54

I was born in 1987 in Belgium.I think they might be Belgian. You should get that straight away.really.I won the Belgian League with Standard Liège before moving to England in 2018 and joining Everton. You should definitely get it now.

2:07

I was David Moyes' first signing at Man United.Whilst at United, I won the League Cup, the FA Cup, the Europa League, and the Community Shield.I was named for my physicality, aerial ability, eccentric hairstyle and annoying Mark Goldbridge.I made 119 Premier League appearances, scoring 12 goals. And in 2019, I transferred to the Chinese club Shandong Taishan before hanging up my boots in 2024.Of course, it was Fellaini, and I've got the Belgian game on at the moment, actually, funnily enough.

2:35

I'm not doing a watch along for it because I think it'll be crap, but I will update you with what's going on with it.Nil -nil at the moment. It was Fellaini.Thank you very much to Boohoo Man for supporting the show.Don't forget to use the code GOLDBRIDGE.I tell you what that you know, I'm in a good mood tonight.

2:48

Anyway, we've got a lot of positive things to potentially talk about and why not hope hey, you know, it's been a very negative place around United for the last three days and you know, maybe there's a bit of hope tonight, but you know what?Let's just remember we used to have Fellaini in the team and it used to absolutely do my head in so, you know, Let's not forget those days.

3:10

OK, let's delve into it with some of the news. We've got this update from Ben Jacobs around Mateus Fernandes involving Belaver and Sander Berg. We've also got this Bergwald transfer request. But I want to start off with Ciumini because I think that this is a good place to start.Jed says, how much do you think Bergwald is worth, Mark? We'll come back to that.

3:34

And that's a very good question, actually. We'll definitely come back to that. Thanks for being our first super chat of the evening, Jed.If you've got anything you want to get off your chest and certainly you definitely want it read out, put it in a super chat that will definitely get read out.OK, so on Tumini, the latest coming out from Spain today is that Valverde will not be sold. The two midfielders that are up for grabs are Tumini

3:55

and Camavinga.Real Madrid are also looking at Boadinho of Morocco. They're still looking at Rodri and Enzo Fernandez.Very good updates.Very good updates and very well researched by me because these are coming in from good credible sources in Madrid.

4:19

I also spent a little bit of time looking at some doing a bit of research.I can't really say where I was looking because everyone will go looking there. And I want to protect it.

4:30

But reading around, and this probably won't be major news to some of you, but reading around, the feeling, if I can put it like that way, is that Real Madrid dealt with the Valverde -Ciomini situation by, you know, basically positive PR.

4:51

They got hold of it.

4:52

They've got both players to do announcements, get to the end of the season and we'll deal with it in the summer.

4:58

The feeling is around Madrid that that situation needs to change, that Jose Mourinho shouldn't have to come into the club and deal with Valverde and Chiumini and whatever's going on there, that somebody needs to be removed. And that is still a feeling that's going on.Also, they do need to bring midfielders in.So removing one of Valverde or Chiumini naturally makes sense anyway. It won't be Valverde is what's coming out of Real Madrid. So, Tumini is still very much a possibility, a high possibility of leaving.

5:34

Coupled in with that, Real Madrid might buy two midfielders. They might go for two. That came out today. They might actually sign two midfielders, not one.So, if they got Buadi and Enzo Fernandez, or Enzo Fernandez and Rodri, or Buadi and Rodri,or they're even linked to Enmita as well.

5:52

The feeling is that Real Madrid will go for two midfielders, which means Chiumini will certainly be leaving. So that is still a very much deal is on for Manchester United. Now, let me remind you of the situation with Chiumini from a Man United situation. We see him as a dream deal.the club see him as a dream deal.Whether you do or I do, they see him as a dream deal.

6:16

He has the same agents as Mbuemo and from that side of things and the players side of things, if Real Madrid look to move him on, he'd be happy to join Manchester United. So this is very much a deal that can be done between Man Utd and Real Madrid and Turmini once Real Madrid decide what they're doing.

6:37

Now what you can't have in this situation is speed and that's going to piss you all off.We can't have speed. We can't have, let's do it tomorrow. We can't have, this is definitely going to happen at the end of the month or even in the middle of July, because France probably do quite well in the World Cup and Real Madrid do need to speak to Jumini and Real Madrid also need to get their midfielders in.And if one of those midfielders is Enzo Fernandes or Rodri, they're both playing in the World Cup.Boateng is playing in the World Cup and Meech is playing in the World Cup.

7:09

So unfortunately, Manchester United can sign Chiomini and there is a good chance it will happen, but it will not happen until August. It just won't.There's nothing we can do about it.And I think that will lead to some reservation because we need things to happen. But absolutely on this, it won't happen quick. It just can't.

7:35

The things that need to happen, it won't happen quick. And Real Madrid will want to get their midfielders in before they sell Chiomini anyway. So,that's where we are at with it.Quite a few separate reports adding into one, all coming in from Spain, if I'm being honest.Valverde will not be the player going.

7:56

Chiomini will. And that is if Real Madrid get their targets in in the midfield, which they are expected to do.

8:04

And it could be two from Rodri, Enzo Fernandez, Enmita and Boadii. And if that happens, Chiomini goes and United are right at the front of the list.

8:12

So look, we can all be negative. We can all say it's going to be Sanderberg and Buleva.

8:17

But the reality is, Tumini is seen as a dream deal for Man United and it's very, very possible. Now, what I will say is, I can be positive and say that that's very doable.

8:28

Obviously, I don't think it happens until the back end of July. And secondly, I can't sit here and guarantee and say it's going to happen. It should happen and it very well could happen. But I can't sit here and say it will happen because Mateus Fernandes is not a Man United player yet.

8:46

And why is he not a Man United player yet?Because the price is something we don't want to pay.And Tumini will probably want over 200 grand a week.

8:54

And if United say they're not paying that, then it's very difficult to see how that deal happens. So my reservation about a deal for Tumini will be he will have to be over 200 grand a week. But it's whether Man United go, we don't mind paying it for players who deserve it.And that will be the interesting thing on it.So encouraging news around Cimini. The exit door at Real Madrid looks like it is opening up.

9:22

It's just going to take a few weeks and then it will be down to United as to whether they follow it up with genuine interest for what they've described as a dream deal.I understand the doubters who say, well, hold on a minute. For nine months, we said Anderson was our priority. Here he is available.we're going, we're not going to pay for it.Why would we trust United not to do it again?

9:44

I can't control that. You can't control that. What I can control is that there is a very high likelihood that Chiumini will be available this summer. What we can't control is whether Man United will go and do the deal.

9:57

Evening Legends, says Tom Grant.Found out today my mum is lung cancer free after successful treatment. All of your support means so much. Can't thank you all enough.

10:05

It's all about the bergs and the bees today, says Tom.Well, that's absolutely fantastic news, Tom, about your mum.Really great news. And I saw people in the chat saying that as well.So absolutely fantastic.Great news there.

10:17

David Williams says, Enmita or Chiwimini? We were linked with Enmita.

10:32

Now, Jed says, what do you think the value of Birkbell is?

10:36

So the next big story to talk about today, and I don't know whether Man United come into this or not.I really don't know whether Man United come in for this or not, but came out today from David Ornstein. So very, very, very, very, very credible that Birkbell has told Tottenham he wants to leave.

10:58

and he wants a new challenge elsewhere.20 years of age.Other Premier League clubs and the European clubs are aware and Tottenham will now assess the situation.

11:09

He's under contract till 2031.

11:11

Now, I think it's a great question from Jed about how much he's...Malper, if you want to get blocked, you've been part of this community for a long time. You know what you've said.If you want to get blocked, I'm telling you now, I'm not putting up with that sort of stuff. If you don't want to be here, go and watch Belgium or Iran.Stop trying to toxify the chat.

11:31

Not having any of that this summer.None of it.If you don't want to be here and you don't want to...don't think these stories are genuine or you think it's spin, go.I don't want to be like that, but I'm giving up my time to chat with good people. If you don't want to be here, go.

11:46

It's really simple, isn't it?I'm tired of listening to people going, oh, so there's no news then. We've done this for 10 years. We're not actually a news outlet.I could go live at 8 o 'clock and say, should Deleuze play as a striker? And we could spend an hour doing it.

12:00

I don't know what you think this is.But we're not The Athletic and we're not the BBC.It's a fan community and we're talking about stuff that is in the news today. And we're talking about the situation in Man United's transfer window. If you don't like it, go.We don't need to go live with brand new stories.

12:19

We have, but we don't need to because we'll talk about something else. It's very frustrating. You just slow the chat down. And if I clock it with my eye, you know, like I have, it just brings the mood down.So if you don't want to be here, the sun is shining, please go somewhere else. But I know you've been part of this community for a long time, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

12:39

But don't come in here just moaning about stuff, trying to bring the mood down. You know, David Ornstein literally said that Bergwald's handed a transfer request in.So how is that not new news?Did you know that yesterday, did you Melpom?Well, maybe you should be David Ornstein then.Hey, everybody, Melpom knew that Bergwald wanted to leave Spurs yesterday.

12:58

Why didn't you tell us?We could have talked about that last night and then we could talk about Deleu being a striker again.Anyway, sorry for that. But I just think I see people arguing in the live chat and most of the time they're arguing because of people like that.

13:12

And it's like, I don't really want to remove people from the chat, especially when they've been part of it for a long time. But, you know, I think sometimes just take a chill pill and calm down.Myself as well. But look, talking about Bergweld, clearly there's a transfer request.there if David Ornstein is talking about it.

13:31

He's only 20 years of age, five years left on his contract. No indication that Man United are going to go for him.

13:38

But positivity, as I said, lots of developments around Real Madrid today and that exit door for Tuomini is certainly opening up and we need to be there to say, come to Man United, I agree.

13:51

But with Bergweld, is there a scenario where we can do something there? Is there?Because I don't know what the price would be.Jed makes a very good point.I don't know what the price would be, but he hasn't played loads for Spurs.I look at Bergweld and I've always said this to you.

14:12

I think Bergweld is a fantastic talent with lots of Premier League experience that hasn't actually materialised into the player I think he should be.If he was playing for Brighton, I genuinely think he has the potential to be a £100 billion player.I think United should look at it.I do.I think Man United should look at it.I just don't know where it fits in and I don't think we will.

14:36

But he is, in my opinion, borderline Premier League proven from what I've seen.He has had a couple of injuries.I completely agree about that.I like him.I think he's a good player.I was doing That's Football earlier and obviously not everybody in there is a Man United fan.

14:57

And there was about three or four Liverpool fans saying we should go and sign him.So he's not like a niche player.I think those people who've watched him, and I include myself in that, I really like him.I've always thought he was a good player.I think Vuskovic and Bergweld at Spurs are really good players who are both very young with huge potential to be a lot better. It doesn't look like he wants to play for Spurs or Deserby and it doesn't look like Deserby wants to use him.

15:25

if he's going to sign Tonali and Fernandes. So I think something can be done there. The problem is, I don't think we will.

15:33

And the other problem is, well, the other problem is if we get Mateus Fernandes and Chiomini, we don't need to do it.Now, I suppose that's a bit of an if, but I like him.I like him.I think he's a good player. And if I was Man United, I'd be looking at it.And yes, he definitely is a Man United fan, because I remember when I used to do my FIFA streams and stuff, he used to follow me and then he signed for Spurs and he unfollowed me.

15:58

But he's definitely a Man United fan and I've seen the pictures of it today. But look, you know what? There's been enough bad news over the last few days about we're not going for Tonali, we're not going for Diamonde, we're not going for Anderson, we're not going for Hall. All these updates in the last few days.

16:14

And there, a player who is a midfielder, who I like, is basically available? Now, absolutely no.Man United are not in for him at the moment, but it's only just come out that he is actually available. Now, could that develop into something?Well, look, we're going to talk about what Ben Jacobs has said about Berg and Buleba. And honestly, you know, if we're looking at Berg and we're looking at Buleba as options, if we don't get Mateus Fernandes, then we absolutely should be looking at Bergweld.

16:45

That's my thought process.I agree. We've got Edison. If we get Fernandes and we get Cermini, we don't need four midfielders.I'd be very happy with those three. But if we mess up any of those deals and we have to go look at...

16:59

What I'm basically saying is, if we don't get Cermini or Fernandes and we start looking at Baleba and Berg, I'd look at Bergwald ahead of those every day of the week.Every day of the week. And funnily enough, I did put that out as a live chat poll before the start of the stream.Bergwalt or Buleba either or.74 % Bergwalt, 26 % Buleba.

17:25

So, you know, look, I don't know whether it leads into something, but as I say, in a market where we've been a bit fed up with some of the updates over the last week, a decent midfielder walking into the market is good, isn't it?

17:39

You know, if you are, if you're an all -you -can -eat take, all -you -can -eat buffet and you know, by the time you get there, some of the dishes you like have run out.And then they go, but we've got this new dish here. You've got more options, haven't you? That's the way I look at it.

17:56

Goldfridge says the only way we sign Bergbel is if Fernandes chooses Spurs. We can't be that club.Perception is important.Oh, yes.Wow, you know what?I'm surprised they haven't thought about that.

18:07

I mean, yeah, I sort of get what you mean.Yeah.Club politics.Would Spurs, Salahs, Bergweld if we get Mateus Fernandes because they want Mateus Fernandes? No.

18:19

Would Spurs, Salahs, Bergweld if they get Mateus Fernandes?Maybe. So I see what you mean.Maybe.Maybe.I mean, look.

18:30

I want to talk about that next, but let me just catch up on a couple of the chats. We should go for Chumini and Camavinga. That's centre midfield and left back sorted.Better than West Ham, perhaps maybe similar price too, says Sean.I don't really see Camavinga as a left back, though.

18:43

I know he can play there, but I don't really see him as a left back.Do you think Spurs signed Fernandes and Givers -Bergvall, says Jacob.I mean, I think that would, I think that would, I think that would cause, can I just say here, Malpa has done a super chat and said, apologies, I'm just frustrated like all of us.I love that.I love that. And I apologize if I did get rage baited, but I'm glad you've done that.

19:15

and I think the community will appreciate you.I think Malper for the win there because there are so many people Malper who put those sort of comments in and they ignore them but I know your name and I know you've been here for a while and that's why I said it because I can deal with the haters, I can deal with the rage baiters, I can deal with the people who come in here to cause trouble but I know you're part of this community so when I saw it, it hurt. And I think it hurts other people as well, because it's negative. And, you know, we are reacting to news stories. But I understand it because I, as I say, we have had two or three days of pretty depressing updates around United that, you know, we don't deserve.

19:55

You know, Tonali shouldn't be going to Spurs. He should be coming to Man United.Elliot Anderson shouldn't be going to Man City.He should be coming to us.Liverpool shouldn't be bidding for Diamonde. We should be.

20:04

So I do, I do, I do understand it.And, you know, You know, if I didn't respect you, I wouldn't I wouldn't have said it anyway.I wouldn't I wouldn't have moaned about it.So thank you very much for that.Did you know that Lucas Bergbell is Dolph Lundgren's son? What a load of bollocks, Jan.

20:21

I've never heard such crap in my life, but instantly goes to check it.I mean, I would know that because I like Dolph Lundgren.Yeah, he's not.But he's still got me to Google it.I said it would have been a cool it would have been a cool story if it was true.

20:44

Bergwell should be cheaper than Fernandes, but I believe he has a higher ceiling, very good player. You know what, Smoggy?I don't know.

20:51

I don't know.I mean, should we run that as a poll?I don't know on that.I think that's very, very hard to...Look, I really like Bergwell and I know more about him than Fernandes. So I probably would choose him over Fernandes.

21:10

because I've seen more of Bergweld. And I genuinely think he's a really good player. And I thought he was a good player when Spurs signed him.I just think they've misused him.So I probably would be tempted to take Bergweld over Fernandes.

21:27

But I don't think a lot of people would.Tough weekend.Dad's birthday yesterday plus Heavenly Father's Day today, says Paul. Thanks for all you do in the community, says Paul.

21:35

You too, mate. And, you know, big shout out to everybody on Father's Day as well.Of course, it's not just about being a dad yourself. It's about having a dad.And not all our dads are still here.So thank you very much for that lovely message.

21:47

Bergvall, Almateus, Fernandes, David, literally doing a chat for you there. Thanks for your hard work, says Elliot.Bergvall scares me.Please check his injury records, says Kartik. And I still think these owners, we have 90 % chance our midfield rebound will be Edison, Belayber and Fletcher.Oh, Desiree, makes you want to throw up.

22:05

Yeah, let me just check that very quickly because I want to talk about this Ben Jacobs update around Fernandez as well.Bergvall, let me go to two clicks. This will take two clicks.Come on, you're quicker than that.Injury history.

22:26

So he had an ankle sprain in January that kept him out till March.

22:33

He had a groin injury that kept him out for a week.Concussion that kept him out for three weeks. And then he had an ankle injury at the end of the season before.

22:48

I mean, it's not bad.

22:51

It's not bad.To be fair, those sort of injuries, the groin injury was a week. The concussion is concussion.Anyone can get that. That's three days.In fact, I remember that concussion.

23:00

Do you remember? It was it was quite a bad, bad one.I remember that. And then he had an ankle sprain. It's not.He picked up, he was out a few times for spurs last season but then I don't think there's anything a good medical wouldn't, you know.

23:14

I don't think it would be a problem.I really don't, in my opinion.I don't think we'll go external for any other midfielder anyway, unless it's Tumini.I don't think we're going to buy two midfielders that haven't played in the Premier League.I don't know how Spurs could charge more than that.I don't even know whether they'd get 40, because...

23:50

The record's just not there. He's only 20 years of age. He's played 50 games for Spurs.Don't think they paid a lot of money for him.

24:05

Eight and a half million.I mean, seriously, it could be 40 million. It could be 40.I think he's really good.

24:15

I think he's got a lot of potential. But if I was negotiating with Spurs and they said 60, I'd say, you're having a fucking laugh. You paid eight million pound for him. He's only played 50 games for you.

24:27

It doesn't start for Sweden.and you haven't started him either.I like him, I want him, I think I can turn him into something really special, but I ain't giving you £60 million. The whole point of it is I think I can turn him into something special and you haven't.So my bid is £35 million.

24:46

But you're right, they might ask for £60 million, but I don't see how you justify £60 million for a 20 -year -old that has put a transfer request in that, you know, isn't, you know, you've not refused it.So I'll give you £60 million.and say 60 is way too much.Way too much.Iran have just scored, by the way.I've got it on the screen here.

25:11

Took a short free kick and passed it into the bottom corner. There's a Belgian kid crying.Mate, you need to grow up, pal.I'm being serious, like, you know, people will say that's harsh. If that was Seb and England went 1 -0 down, I think it's offside anyway, mate. He's offside, don't worry about it.

He's offside. No, if England went 1 -0 down in a World Cup game and Seb started crying, I'd say, mate, it's part of the sport.

25:42

Embrace it.I think he's offside.Anyway, back to reality.Reuben says, can you wish Happy Father's Day to Paul to sum up who he is as dad?

25:51

He used to sit me down at five years old to make me watch Roy Keane's Toughest Moments. That's from Reuben King saying, Happy Father's Day to Paul King. What a lovely way of using the live chat community.Thank you, Reuben. And shout out to your dad, Paul.

26:03

Have a great day.Happy Father's Day.Jonesy says, signing Tuomini is an absolute must and Nectario is in the chat.Happy Father's Day, Goldie.

26:14

Thanks for being our football daddy, entertaining and keep us in the loop every single day.Thank you very much, pal.Appreciate it.Emily Derry says, can we just get Ben Jacobs to refer to Belayber as someone who should not be named when he comes on the B &B show? The name inspires rage at this point.Thank you very much.

26:30

We're about to talk about that name, Emily, so take a deep breath. So Right, Ben Jacobs, we get on with really, really well.We work with him on the United stand.

26:40

This afternoon, a few aggregators put out a story today that basically were inaccurate. What it basically said was that Manchester United

26:53

have Mateus Fernandes as their number one target, their top midfielder. But talks with West Ham are tough.

27:07

Now, let me get the wording right on this because it's really, really, really important. It said that the talks are tough and a major hurdle, the 80 to 85 million pound fee.

27:23

United are now assessing alternatives with Berg and Buleba both under consideration.

27:28

I'd not heard this before. So I was watching the Spain game. It's not been given, it's offside.Still 0 -0.And so I said to our producer, Greg, I said, can you get in contact with Ben and find out whether he said that?So he got in contact with Ben and Ben said, I haven't done an article about that today.

27:48

So I don't know why that's coming out today. And I haven't said tough or major hurdle. So Greg said to Ben, so what are you saying? And he said, well, basically, somebody's lifted that from your show on Thursday that I did with you because I haven't said anything new.

28:05

But what he did say is, and you can quote this, Man United have made Fernandes their top midfield target, but with talks with West Ham ongoing, the 80 to 85 million valuation is obviously what West Ham have set and talks are ongoing.

28:22

United are therefore assessing alternatives if they can't get a deal done.Sanderberg, Baleba, both under consideration and Alex Scott. So, Ultimately, that sort of was what Ben said on Thursday.

28:37

I don't know why certain aggregators are adding words into it and passing it off as new news today.Probably because it's Sunday and not a lot's going on.So you may have seen that Ben Jacobs updateand gone, oh, well, you know, it's all new. We've spoken to Ben.He hasn't put anything new out.

28:56

He thinks that update is from what he said on Thursday. But we've gone to him and said, well, look, let's get some clarity on it because some people are putting out as if it's today. And what he's saying is United want Mateus Fernandes.West Ham want 80 to 85 million pounds.United are looking at alternatives.if they don't get that deal done, Sanderberg, Carlos Belaver and Alex Scott.

29:20

But what he did say is Man United haven't abandoned Mateus Fernandes talks. They still want Mateus Fernandes.they are assessing alternatives if that deal doesn't happen for whatever reason, because obviously West Ham are asking for 80 to 85 million pounds. So that's the situation.Look, this happens a lot. There are certain aggregators out there that on a slow day will go back to an Ornstein or Romano or Ben Jacobs or Athletic article from four days ago, find something from it and just regurgitate it because it gets clicks.

29:53

So it wasn't actually anything that was brand new, but in doing what we're meant to do, which is going and finding out, it is an update of today that basically was set on Thursday with a little bit more.So Ben said to us that, yes, Belaver, Berg and Scott are alternative options if Fernandes doesn't happen. But United aren't in a situation where they see it as a barrier or tough. They're in negotiations. So, yeah. That's where we are.

30:23

And I would add Bergbel into that, hopefully.Oh, God, the chalkboard's back again.Yeah, I would add Bergbel into that.Obviously, I don't want Belayba.I don't want Sanderberg. And can I just say, I didn't want Sanderberg a few years ago, and people said you were wrong.

30:39

And maybe I was, but I don't want Sanderberg now, who is going to be 29.season.

30:46

I don't want Sanderberg now because I've got Edison.I've got Edison, haven't I?

30:57

So I don't need Sanderberg.I thought, and I thought we all agreed with this, we need a Tyler Adams, Jao Gomes, Edison, Sanderberg type midfielder. We need an Alex Scott, Bergvall, Mateus Fernandes type midfielder. And we need a Chiomini, Tenali, Anderson type midfielder. There's three steps to the midfielders we need.Sanderberg's an Edison midfielder.

31:25

I don't need a Sanderberg.Tyler Adams is an Edison type midfielder.I don't need a Tyler Adams.

31:32

So if we don't get Mateus Fernandes, we should go for Birkbell or Alex Scott. That's what I think we should do.Belayba, I genuinely will say this again, as calm as you like, I don't know why we're linked to Belayba.

31:51

He's been fucking shit all season. He gets benched for 40 -year -old James Milner.

31:56

I don't know why we're even looking at him.But look, I can't control it.You can't control it.However, the Mateus Fernandes deal is not dead.We are still, in my opinion, leading the race. And we are still, in my opinion, the favourites to win this race.

32:13

I thought Swedish Rumble put a very good tweet out today. And what he said was, what is George Mendez involvement in this deal?Is he getting a fee from Tottenham?Because you look at that West Ham deal.West Ham have got to sell.players.

32:30

They've been relegated. They might not get promoted.West Ham can't get relegated from the Premier League in that stadium and go, everything's fine. They've got to sell.somebody.And Mateus Fernandes is their biggest asset.

32:48

Real Madrid are very unlikely to go for Mateus Fernandes, the pressure Mourinho is on.Historically, Jose Mourinho doesn't buy kits.Historically, and we had Mourinho at our club, he wants sure things. He wants players to come in and are ready to go.So I don't buy Real Madrid in for Mateus Fernandes.

33:08

I never have.I don't think they are in for him.Arsenal have been as quiet as a mouse.

33:13

PSG have been as quiet as a mouse. So I was reading the Swedish Rumble tweet and it's sort of what I think.

33:25

I think that this Spurs interest is to get us to pay a price we don't want to pay.I don't think Spurs really want Mateus Fernandes and Tonali.I might be wrong, but I don't think they really do.And I don't think they can win that race.

33:43

But if they're not in the race and Real Madrid aren't in the race and Arsenal aren't in the race and PSG aren't in the race, then there is nobody else in the race. And we can play hardball for a few weeks and we can get him lower.

33:56

So I do sort of look at it and go, is something going on with George Mendes and Spurs and Mateus Fernandes to try and get us to pay more?Maybe, maybe there is, maybe there isn't, because I sort of do.I'm just going to say it.I like Mateus Fernandes, but I don't understand why he's costing anything more than 55 million.I really don't.I remember talking about this in April.

34:23

And I remember many of you saying, if West Ham get relegated, Mateus Fernandes is 50 million tops. And you're right. You're absolutely right. So tell me how his price has gone up to 85 million. It's almost like they want to rinse us.And to do that, they need someone to facilitate it.

34:43

Now, is George Mendez facilitating rinsing Man United by getting Spurs involved?I don't know.Jose Mourinho is George Mendez's client.Real Madrid want him.It just feels a little bit like there's a bit of something going on to try and get a bigger price out of us.Because He was a £50m player at the end of the season, and now suddenly he's an £85m player.

Atish says it's called the Man United tax.

35:14

Whether it's called the Man United tax or whether it's called trying to rip people off for a player that's not worth it, I don't know.

35:22

But what stuns me is that, look, Mateus Fernandes is a very good player, but he's been relegated by West Ham.He ain't worth more than £50m.And suddenly it's £85m.And I'm like, the valuation is stupid. And in no way, shape or form are you or I criticising the talent of Mateus Fernandes.Look, I've just said Bergweld's worth £40 million.

35:47

I'd still buy him.I think he's a good player.I think Mateus Fernandes is a very good player. But we are buying a 21 -year -old who isn't the finished article, who's been relegated two times in the last two seasons.£85 million. You know, the more I think about it, the more I think, this is fucking stupid.

36:08

It is stupid. What I will say is, if we really, really want him, I'd rather us get him than walk away. But I'll put my hands up.£65 million is overpaying.£70 million is definitely...I think he's a £50 million player.

36:26

The problem is West Ham paid £40 a year ago.And you know what West Ham are doing?George, George, we paid 40 million pounds a year ago.If we sell him for 50, we make a 10 million pound profit and Southampton get some of that. They're just trying to bump the price up because they paid 40 for him a year ago.But absolutely, I think it's important.

36:59

I'm not defending Wilcox, I'm not defending Ineos or the Glazers, but his price went from 50 to 85 million for no reason.Absolutely no reason. He was a 50 million pound player at the end of the year, end of the season. And then suddenly it was 85.That's like a, that's nearly a bloody, that's a bloody 70 % increase in price just because West Ham say so.And I'm like, he ain't an 85 million pound player.

37:29

He's not.But how we get that price down, look, as Swedish Rumble says, you don't know the role of George Mendes. Is George Mendes getting commission on the transfer fee?

37:42

George Mendez is a super agent. If he's doing the work for West Ham to get that price up, then, you know, that's problematic, isn't it?And people say, well, he should be working for United, but maybe we maybe we don't want to pay George Mendez as much as West Ham want to pay George Mendez. He will be getting he'll be getting coin out of this one way or another. So, look, I want us to sign him.I think we can sign him.

38:07

But let's not lose sight of the fact that his price is extortionate.Doesn't mean we shouldn't sign him.But look, Lewis Hall, I don't think we'll sign Lewis Hall, but as an example, I want Lewis Hall.I think he's worth £60 million, maximum.if we signed him for a hundred million We've been rinsed still like the player still want us to sign him, but we have been rinsed So look, we'll have to wait and see how it happens I think a lot of people want to know how quickly this this met this Fernandez deal will happen and the honest answer is I don't know I don't know but we are dealing with a very strange situation a very strange situation because He is overpriced and his price went from 50 to 85 for no reason.George Mendez is involved, Real Madrid are involved and now Tottenham are involved.

39:13

And it's almost like watching a film that doesn't make any sense. The components don't make sense.Spurs are out here bidding 90 million pounds for Tonali and then they're saying they're going to bid 75 for Fernandez. It doesn't make any sense to me.Spurs finished fourth from bottom, surely have financial issues.and are going to drop £165 million on Mateus Fernandes and Tonali willingly.

39:45

Because that's the story. If Mateus Fernandes agrees personal terms with Spurs, they're going to offer £75 million. And you sort of like go, when did Spurs become Man City?Like, how has that happened?

39:59

So I just...Look, you'll be very careful what you say. You'll be very careful what you say because it can come back and bite you on the arse.

40:07

But logically, this just stinks. It stinks.I've watched a lot of football.I've watched a lot of transfer windows. This stinks. This is, you know, in football, you've never seen everything.

40:26

You've seen a lot, but you think you've seen it all and you haven't.You've never seen everything.Tottenham going for Tonali and Fernandes at the prices they're going for them is strange. It's almost like they're a decoy.I don't believe they're going for Tonali and Fernandes.I don't believe they're going to drop 75 million pounds on Mateus Fernandes and 90 on Tonali.

40:47

I just don't believe it.It feels like a decoy.But maybe I'm wrong.

40:53

It feels like to me, we know we can get West Ham down to the right price, maybe 50, maybe 55.But it feels like there's other people helping West Ham bump that price up.And the answer has to be why.Why would you help West Ham get that price up?Commission. It's got to be commission, hasn't it?

41:20

Why would you help West Ham get another 20, 30 million pounds for Mateus Fernandes? And I tell you what, totally and utterly fantasy here. But if Bournemouth said to me, Alex Scott wants to leave, Man United want him and no one else does. We've got to get that price up to £70m and United are only going to offer £50m.Can you help us, Mark?I'd say, yeah, OK.

We get on to David Ornstein and Romano and we tell them it's £80m and let me pull a few favours with clubs that I've got contacts with and tell them not to deny it when we put it out there that they're going to bid for him as well.this goes on in football. And that might be what's happening. All this Spurs -Real Madrid interest could be a load of bollocks to try and make us...bid.They could be trying to just get us to bid 65.

42:22

They might be just going, if we put all this out there, United might move quicker. They might be trying to stop us playing the long game.I don't want us to play the long game.

42:33

I don't want us to play the long game at all.Anyway, don't understand our transfer strategy, says Joel.Thank you very much, pal.Super chat there. We've got nearly 10 ,000 people watching tonight, by the way. Please do share the video and get involved, as always.

42:48

Cracking show tonight.

42:51

I just want to catch up on a couple of super chats here. It's still nil -nil between Belgium and Iran. It's funny, Belgium -Iran.Someone said, why aren't you doing it as a watch along? And I said, well, mainly because I want to do United stand tonight. And I've got a horrible feeling that Belgium -Iran could be a 0 -0 and I don't do 0 -0s.

43:10

So there has been some chances to be fair.Lovely stadium, LA.Lovely stadium.Really lovely stadium.

43:21

Right, let's catch up on some of your superchats.Joel says, don't understand our transfer strategy. We'll happily overpay on West Ham players, but won't pay the going rate for people like Anderson.Never seen people so inept at running a football club, says Joel.

43:36

Emile says, put 50 million on the table for Boadi.I can't talk to you about Boadi, mate. We're just not interested, are we?We're just not in for him.I don't understand it.And look, we shouldn't be scouting him off the World Cup.

43:56

We should have figured him out before. You know, I was having this chat with somebody today. They were saying, should Man United go for Boadii? And I said, well, we're not going to, but we should have done what we should have been doing.in February, March and April was United are in for Boadi.I've never heard it once.

44:17

That's what Arsenal did.

44:19

That's what PSG did.Like we should have known him.We should have been talking about him on the morning show in March and April. We never did.He went through the net.

44:31

We've just completely missed that one.

44:33

And it's embarrassing. It's embarrassing that we've missed a player of that quality in our scouting, but we've not done it.We've not looked at him.

44:49

Yeah, but we've dealt with RB Leipzig, Sunrisers, Army, haven't we?And I think if you've watched Diamonde, he should be coming to United, but we won't pay for it.I'm absolutely convinced that I want Diamonde to go to PSG.

45:09

I'd love to see him in the Premier League, but I don't want to see him playing for Liverpool. It's going to piss me right off.You know if Liverpool start playing areola ball with people like Diamonde on the wing next season, it's going to really piss me off.Because we could have got areola and we should have gone for Diamonde.

45:26

But look, no, I back Carrick, but you know what I mean.I don't want to see Liverpool playing scintillatingly good football next season with Diamonde tearing it up down the wing.

45:37

And next, we've got Man City playing really well with Elliot Anderson and Spurs are doing great this season. They're third in the league with Tonali and Fernandes.Yeah, it would be a bloody nightmare, wouldn't it?I cannot see any other team paying 85 million for Fernandes, says Smoggy.

45:52

Hope you're doing well.So I think United will be relaxed. This transfer will be drawn out and potentially close to deadline day.

Yeah, and you know what, Smoggy? That is not going to do anything for the patience and frustration

46:05

of this fan base but you are right maybe bang united are sat there like us going this is really weird we don't believe the price is 85 we don't believe anybody else is in for him so we're just going to sit here and wait maybe we're just going to sit and call the bluff and it could take weeks i'd love it i'll bloody love it if on June the 30th this has all just been a try by West Ham, you know, just have a go.

46:35

And I don't blame them, don't blame them.If on the 30th of June West Ham go, look, we'll take 60 and we do a deal for 60, happy days. And I'd say, fair play West Ham, you tried it on, you didn't work. And that might happen, it might happen. On the other hand, West Ham might be serious and say, we ain't selling him, so we'll just carry it on for the rest of the summer.I believe, thank you very much for that.

47:07

Patrick Lynch, hope you're doing well.He says, I like Fernandes. He's a good player. One of his type we should be getting.I'm critical of the board as much as anyone, but at some point locking into one player makes negotiations much harder.

47:19

Emily Derry says, who else does George Mendes represent that Spurs might be interested in?Because it might be about a mutual favor.I don't know whether it's as easy to, because George Mendes doesn't always directly represent the players.I don't think he directly represented Yoro. His agency, I think it's the Guest Debut Agency, and I've probably completely and utterly pronounced it wrong, but looking at it, Yamal, Vitinha, João Neves, Zé Emery, Barcola, Neto,Diaz, Nunes, Baldi, Mateus Fernandes, Lenny Yoro, Costa, Trincao, Goncalves, Adeyemi, Barco, Moura, Consassau, Ramon, basically most of the Portuguese first team.

48:22

Agaté, yeah, well, George Mendes massively was involved in the Agaté and Yoro deals, so he does represent them.I can't really see anybody that, Spurs might want that he's helping him with, but there might be something in that.I mean, he's got a lot of players, a lot of players.

48:48

Sanderberg is 28.Surprised we're looking at him, says Jed.

48:51

Yeah, I don't think we're looking at Sanderberg.I don't think we're looking at Sanderberg.I mean, I'm not going to dispute what Ben Jacobs is saying, but I don't think we're looking at Ben...I don't think we're looking at Ben Jacobs either.I don't think we're looking at Sanderberg because he'll be 29 and he's not even an elite player.midfielder.

49:10

He's a good midfielder, but he's not an elite midfielder.

49:13

Matt Casey says Maynew, Edison, Bergweld, Ciumini.I'd take that all day long.Thoughts?Mate, you know what? It's interesting because I like Mateus Fernandes and I think United will sign him.

49:27

I said either or Bergweld or Fernandes.29 % said Bergweld.71 % said Fernandes.And I'm happy with that.And I like Fernandes, right?

49:37

But what Matt says there, Maynew, Edison, Bergweld, Ciumini.I like it.I do like it, and you know what the scary thing is?I reckon we could get Bergbel and Cermini for about £110.

49:53

Erm, Fernandes and Cermini...going to cost you 140.I genuinely think Bergweld is available for about 50, tops. And I think Chiomini is available for about 60.So we've got to try and get Mateus Fernandez. If we don't get Mateus Fernandez, I'd get Bergweld.

50:20

I do like him.But then again, you know what?

50:23

I tell you what, I do like Alex Scott as well.Happy Father's Day, Goldie.I've done that one.Thank you very much.Appreciate you.Would you take Bergvall as the third midfielder, Edison, Fernandes and him?

50:35

It's very inexperienced, though, then. You've got Mane, who's a kid, Bergvall, who's a kid, Fernandes, who's a kid, and then Edison, who's never played in the Prem.I can't be a hypocrite.I genuinely do think there's got to be some experienced marquee signing that can come in and replace Casimiro. You know, he is the player that we're trying to replace here. And Muddus says no deals till June the 30th, I feel.

50:59

Well, I'd come back on that and say that we might not do a deal before the end of this financial year. But the reason we moved Edison to next year, I believe, was to give us the ability to buy a player in this year.

51:15

We've still got the Semenyu money. We haven't spent it.So once this financial year is over, I don't know whether many of you work.Hopefully you do, you know, it contributes to society.

51:28

But if you work right, and at the start of your working year, you get 25 days annual leave, yeah. And at the end of the year, you've got five days left, and you don't take them. And your boss says, we don't get 30, you get 25 days each year to use.If you don't use them, you can't roll them out. You'll lose them. That's a little bit like this financial situation.

51:55

There's some menu money. If we don't spend it, a financial year in football is over. And spending that money in this year keeps it in this year on the books. If you wait till next year, you're adding to next year's.You know what I mean?Like we clearly have got a bit of money that we can spend in this financial year.

52:17

We should spend it.We should.Andy Knows Ball says, 25 days leave, I get 17.I don't know what people get, mate, because I don't take leave.

52:26

So annual leave is not something I've done for about 12 years. So the only day I get off is Christmas Day.As you will all know, it's the only day I don't stream.I don't want a medal for that, but it's true. It's the only day I literally don't stream.Anyway, wonder why United are so rigid on the order of the signings and never understand why they're not flexible.

52:50

Mbermo last summer and Mateus this year, says Sunrisers Army.I think it's because we can only do one deal at a time. We've always been like that. It's always been that way.

53:06

Dave the Brave says, if we are going to 80 million, let's forget Fernandes and go and get Richard Rios.

53:12

Well, that's a player, Dave, that we're definitely not looking at.I can tell you that. We're just not looking at him.Jonathan says, I read on the Internet that Man United have agreed personal terms. Is that true? With Mateus Fernandes?

53:30

Yes.Yeah, we have agreed personal terms with Mateus Fernandes in the sense that Romano David Ornstein would tell you personal terms are not a problem, which basicallyyes, we have agreed them. There is some talk out there.I wouldn't listen to this. There's talk out there that Spurs are willing to pay quite a little bit more wages than we're willing to pay, and they're willing to pay 75 million pounds for him.

54:09

I wouldn't necessarily believe that.I wouldn't.There's also rumours that West Ham need to raise £100m in fees very, very quickly.I don't believe that either because I think in football transfer fees amount, as we know, it's a bit like saying our budget's £150m and then adding up the transfer fee of each player when we all know we bought Mbuemo for £65m, we didn't give Brentford £65m.We probably gave them 15 and we're probably giving them another 15 this year and another 15 next year and another 15 the year after. So there's stuff out there I wouldn't believe.

54:56

But what I would believe is that personal terms aren't an issue with Mateus Fernandes and Man United, which means we've got the buy -in.And we won't negotiate with anybody if we haven't got a buy -in from the player anyway. We just won't.It's why we've not done anything with Elliot Anderson.

55:13

Oli, I can't say happy father's day to your dad because that's a made up name that when I say it together says something rude. And I've been doing this for a very long time, Oli, and I haven't got mug written on my forehead.Thank you very much for that.Mark, I've been told by my family friend that Darlow is a done deal, says Leeds fan.Yeah, I would not be surprised if Darlow came in as a goalkeeper and I'd find it about as exciting as

55:40

painting a fence.I was going to say something worse.Nothing against Darlow, but it's the same as Phil and Grant Mitchell, isn't it?Or whatever his name was.I've got absolutely no excitement about backup goalkeepers or third choice goalkeepers. We're not doing a video on it.

56:02

We're not analysing it.We're not doing a here we go on it.I couldn't give a shit about it because it's not exciting. It's not.Signing a backup goalkeeper is not exciting. We were very lucky when we had Romero because he was probably the best backup goalkeeper we've ever had.

56:21

But backup goalkeepers are boring. It's not their fault. We need them. You do need them.

56:28

But they're boring. And I'm sure you're probably right about Darlow.

56:35

And welcome to the club. When it happens, hello mark glad to be here says Joel and thank you for being a member for 13 months off topic But thank God we got rid of Lukaku.

56:45

Oh, I mean, it's funny, isn't it?It's like it's like it's like the Belgian Belgian nightmare, isn't it?We have the boohoo man quiz about Fellaini who is shit You know what?Sometimes you go as fed up as I am at least that's not the situation anymore At least we don't have Fellaini here anymore and Lukaku I wanted to give him a chance, but I never bloody wanted him.I always thought he was a, I just, I think he's quite limited. He's got a great goalscoring record though.

57:18

You've got to say that.I'll tell you what, I'll tell you what, just completely off topic as well.I've watched both Scotland games in the World Cup, right? And I saw somebody tweet this and they said, when McTominay left Man United and was doing well in Napoli,we were led to believe that we let a Ballon d 'Or winner go.Watching him play for Scotland in the World Cup, I don't see anything different from what I saw at Man United.

He just plays in Serie A and Serie A's not very good.

57:46

And I thought, if I said that, I'd get absolute pelters for it.But actually, how many decent players actually play in Serie A?When was the last time Italy qualified for a World Cup?It is a bit of a low -quality league now. There's not actually that many decent players in it.

58:05

You know, you look at the Bundesliga, you've got Luis Diaz, Harry Kane, Alisse, all playing in the same team, by the way, but you've got lots of decent players. You look at La Liga, you've got a lot of decent players.

58:16

You look at the Premier League, you've got a lot of decent players. In Serie A, Latour and Martinez, probably the best player in that league.

58:27

It did make me laugh because I've watched McTominay for Scotland and I've gone, I don't see anything, anything different to what he did at Man United. He's great at arriving late in the box and he's got a good shot on him, but there wasn't, there's not a lot else there, is there?Well, that's what I think. Is our budget actually much smaller than we think, says Darrell. Our budget shouldn't be small. There might be caution because of not being in Europe at all last year and it's going to hit the books next year.

58:57

But you know, you look at what, look, let's just watch what Spurs do, really.because United spent nearly 200 million pounds last year on Sesco and Burmo and Cunha.Let's see what Spurs do about ambition because they're in the same situation that we were a year ago, no European football.Thank you very much for that.

59:29

Charlie says, if £70 million is too much for Hall, why is £120 million too much for Anderson?

59:38

Look, we could talk and talk and talk.I think the reality is that Manchester United just don't want to pay more than £80 million for any player.I don't think that they want to pay more than that.I don't think they want to pay over 200 grand a week on wages. And I don't think they want to buy a player over 26 either. And I think that's basically where we are.

1:00:00

But what I will say is, Sunday night was our flagship show on the United stand. All those years ago, we used to do one show a week at 8 o 'clock.Imagine that now. That's your show. Some people might be happy about that.Malpa would.

1:00:13

Imagine if I said, that's it for the week, we're back next Sunday at eight o 'clock.I'll tell you what, that'd be great for me.I'd have a whole week off.But yeah, that's what the United Stand was.Eight o 'clock on a Sunday night, me, Kev, Rich, Martin, Alex, the original gangsters, once a week at eight o 'clock on a Sunday. You know what, I used to think I'd be there on a Sunday afternoon thinking of topics to fill an hour.

1:00:39

And now we do three shows a day.But yeah, so it is our flagship show, 8 o 'clock on a Sunday. So thank you, everybody.I've really enjoyed the show tonight.Really enjoyed it.Thank you so much for tuning in.

Look, we're still in for Mateus Fernandes.I think there's something fishy going on around this price.

1:00:58

I was thinking about it today. How has he gone from being a £50 million player, and I think that's a fair price, to an £85 million player just because West Ham say so?That's literally what happened. He was a £50 million player in April.and now he's an £85 million player because West Ham say so.It doesn't make any sense.

1:01:19

So I still think Mateus Fernandes is very likely.Bergvall is in the equation now.I'm not saying United are not.for him, but it's another midfielder and I like him.And with Tuomini, look, United describe him as their dream midfield target.

1:01:36

Real Madrid are chasing two midfielders and they're not going to sell Valverde. So Tuomini is still very, very possible as well in this summer transfer window. So all is not lost.

1:01:46

The frustration of not bidding for Diamonde or Tenali or Anderson is real, but there are still other options in the shop.

1:01:53

Let's see what happens.Daniel says...Sorry, I did that one from Daniel.I've completely messed up my chat here.Imagine if we had guitar. What do you do that for now?

1:02:05

Charlie, that's what I wanted. And many people said Ineos were the better one.You know, that's what I wanted.

Thank you so much, everybody.Thank you very much for watching.I'm back with you on the 10 o 'clock show tomorrow. We've got a two o 'clock show. It's Argentina -Austria at six o 'clock tomorrow night. We'll be live for that on That's Football as a watch along.

1:02:27

Ragnik against Messi.

1:02:30

So that'll be, yeah, eight o 'clock show tomorrow night, yeah.I was just thinking if there's going to be an eight o 'clock show tomorrow, but I think we've got an eight o 'clock show for the next two nights because England kick off at nine and Portugal are at six on Tuesday. So we're definitely, I try and figure out what's going on, but Wednesday night, yeah, so we've got eight o 'clock shows for the next two nights, Monday, Tuesday.Wednesday night is, there is an eight o 'clock World Cup game, so we'll probably do it at seven.Thursday night, it's a nine o 'clock game, so we'll do it at eight. And Friday night, it's eight o 'clock game.

1:03:13

So only Wednesday and Friday will it not be an eight o 'clock show, there'll be seven o 'clock.Norway, France.Norway, France!on Friday night.Well, yes, please and buffet against Holland I won't be watching that not I will I will I will Norway against France.God son got goosebumps We'll have a bit of that.

1:03:33

We'll have a bit of that.Definitely Especially if Norway beat Senegal tomorrow and France beat Iraq, that'll be very very in trip.

1:03:41

Well, I Even if Norway don't beat them, if they beat France head, you know, it'd be interesting.Definitely interesting.OK, I'm off to watch Rob Roy.I saw a little clip of Rob Roy at the weekend.I've seen it before.Liam Neeson.

1:03:57

I haven't seen that film for ages.So I'm going to watch Rob Roy tonight.I've got a stack of, bit of an after show here.I've got a stack of films I like to watch and I'm going to watch them over the summer.I feel, I feel like, I feel, I feel World Cup.I said this, I said this on That's Football.

1:04:14

I'm loving the World Cup.I think it's one of the best World Cups ever.I think the stadiums, the refereeing.

1:04:21

I really hope this refereeing comes to the Premier League next year. The flows of the game, the atmosphere.I'm absolutely loving it.But after 10 days of staying up until the early hours and watching football, I do just feel for this week, because it's the final week of the group stage, I'm going to be selective.I need a bit of me time.I've not neglected United stand at all.

1:04:46

I'll never do that. But just like tonight, I just feel like Belgium, Iran, and Uruguay, fuck off.I'm watching Rob Roy.So, and also I think when the knockout stage happens, I won't want to miss any of them games at all.But I am going to do, I'm doing three watch -alongs tomorrow.I'm doing France -Iraq at 10.

1:05:09

I'm doing Austria -Argentina at six.And I'm doing Norway -Senegal at 1 a .m.know it's only it's only one night where I sort of I'm a bit selective but yeah Tony's gonna watch Armageddon tonight yeah so I've got I've got I've got Rob Roy I'm gonna watch that tonight I'm gonna watch Heat this week because it's hot I am a simple man it's gonna be over 30 degrees in the UK and I thought I need to watch Heat at night because it just feels like LA and there's another film I want to watch as well Sexy Beast, I always watch that when it's hot, which is Ray Winston. It'sIt's like at Christmas watching Christmas films in the summer when it's hot.I'll tell you what's a great film to watch when it's hot as well, that one with Michael Douglas.

1:06:01

Not the one where she opens her legs, Basic Instinct. No, Falling Down, brilliant film that is.Brilliant film that is.Yeah, love that.So yeah, Heat, Sexy Beast and Rob Roy this week.Although, I won't get to watch anything tomorrow night, because I've got two watch alongs.

1:06:25

England, I can probably watch it a bit after the England game. That'll be finished at 11.Yeah.Lovely stuff.OK.What about Jaws?

1:06:38

Good.Yeah.You could watch Frozen, and it'll cool you down.Yeah.Bad joke, but there we go.Ride says France is going to smack Norway about.

1:06:50

I'll tell you what.I felt so bad for Ivory Coast last night. And I can say this, because Ahmad, obviously, United player.I don't think they deserve to lose that game.Credit to Germany, full credit to Germany, but they could have won that game.I hope it doesn't knock their confidence because I thought they looked very good, but they could have won that game.

1:07:10

last night.Yeah, they could have done.

1:07:15

If you had to pick only one team to support for the rest of your life, would it be United or England? That is the easiest answer in the world. If I had to choose England winning the World Cup in July or Man United winning the Premier League next May, Man United winning the Premier League. When I was 10, I probably would have said England winning the World Cup.

1:07:35

If you'd have asked me at Italia 90, England winning the World Cup or Man United winning the league. Now, considering Man United hadn't won the league in my lifetime at that point, we hadn't won it since 68, I would have said England winning the World Cup because I was 10 and international football felt bigger. Now, Man United is more important to me than England. So I'd like to see England winning the World Cup, but I'd rather we won the Premier League. And that's genuine.I do want England to win, but I don't feel attached to England as a football team.

I haven't felt attached to England as a football team since 2006.I think that was the last tournament where, that was where the passion died, really, because Italia 90 sparked it.France 98, Beckham.2002, Beckham.2006, Rooney. They were my prime England obsession years.

1:08:36

Man United comes way first, way first for me, yeah.Days of Thunder's a good summer movie, Stuart S., but very good, very good shout.

1:08:45

Okay, thank you everybody for tuning in.Take care, stay safe, and I will speak to you tomorrow.

1:08:51

Thank you.Big day tomorrow. Thanks for watching.
