Texans beat Bills in ‘rollercoaster’ Josh Allen game, Is he out of the MVP conversation? | FTF
First Things First
I'm from New York.
Showed you warned you. I told you KW is on a heater. I said the bills are overrated.
No one wanted to believe me.
OK.
Listen you are. He is on a he had enough crap tables to know I'd pick up my chips move and go over to the one you're on. You're on a heater.
I see my upset alert. I it's out of this world.
It's out of this world. It's out of this world.
It's insane.
You could have, just so you know.
Yeah, I did see.
You could have gotten nine points. But I wanted a free one, though. No, but that's not fair. You had to actually put it on the line. You had to put it on the line. And your upset alert has no chance. I'm just letting you know. Your heater's about to lag. Are you going with the Jets
because I think they got a chance against Bruce Ravens. No. I'm not. 16 and a half points. Oh, they'll definitely cover. They'll cover. I'm always scared of the team who when they go to the backup, I'm like, oh, they got better.
Well, I like that. Their antennas are up.
OK.
They're not looking past the Jets. So I like what I heard.
We're slowly moving towards a show that's just all the openers.
I like it.
It's just us, Jets.

Get started freeWe start with, it was all good five days ago. six touchdowns on Sunday. Zero last night was sacked a career high eight times. So here was the story of the game brew. Most sacks. He's ever taken his career. Most sack yards, all 70. I was all full football field and took 11 hits, which is too many. Also felt like he was in danger. A few times felt a little banged up, but also was okay.
Were you surprised by Allen struggles?
Well, I'm certainly surprised. He was sacked eight times. All right, because they I know the Texans have a phenomenal defense and they looked every bit of that last night, but the bills have a great offensive line
that a week before against Tampa. They only gave up six pressures, let alone say zero sacks, six pressures. So to see Houston just dominate Dion Dawkins and company was definitely surprising. I also think the fact that Buffalo's defense, which we have talked about is not very good. The fact that they couldn't
hold down Davis Mills and they were trailing for the second half of the game and even a little bit of the second quarter. I think that forced Josh to go into Superman mode and we saw what happened. And I'm, look, I am never surprised now when he has a historically great game like last week or when he has a terrible game your roller coaster. I know you've kind of gotten rid of it.
Just as a matter is it but that's appropriate last year. It was gone this year. It's making a bit of a comeback.
No, it's it's back. I mean just these last three weeks. What three weeks ago. He had a fumble and an interception. I had two touchdowns was still two turnovers in that debacle of a loss to Miami. Yep. Then he comes out and is incredible
last week. And now this week, he struggles again. Look, I'm not trying to give him cover. He deserves a lot of blame for this. But I feel like what I said last year at the beginning of the season is finally coming to pass, which was I didn't think they put enough like he doesn't have any what James Cook is great
weapons on outside. He doesn't have any and so that forces him to go Superman mo and we see what happens. He's going to detonate one way or the other positive or negative and last night. it was negative. So
with that said brew,
they got a kick return touchdown
That's right. And so the
perspective is a fair conversation to have but I don't think that was the problem last night. I just don't think his receivers are.. No, they're not getting open. But the sacks were part Houston being awesome and part Josh trying to make amazing things happen. One of the sacks on third and sixth, he's running around, you know, trying to make amazing things happen. One of the sacks on third and sixth.
He's running around, you know, trying to make one of those spectacular Josh Allen plays and then gets sacked. The first pick could have been picked by two people. Like somebody, I forget who, got their hands on it. And the second pick, which ended the game. So this one, you're throwing in the traffic.
He almost picks it.
He didn't meet him right.
And the final pick the tight end is just wide open.
He threw to the wrong guy.

And so I don't know how he
No this one's coming here. Look at that. Knox is just open. Now there's offensive pass interference so it's going to come back anyway. But he didn't know that. And so.. And this is.. And yes, Houston's defense is amazing. We saw them force Josh into a 9 for 30 that you pointed out during the regular season
last year. We saw them force Justin Herbert into four interception playoff game. We saw what they did yesterday. Now in the midst of all that, they happened to play Patrick Mahomes twice. He carved him up both times once in a playoff game. But I understand Patrick Mahomes is old news.
And, you know, it's Josh Allen's league now. And the four lost Buffalo Bills are a terrifying Super Bowl contender. And the five lost Kansas City Chiefs are a dead team walking. I get that. I understand that.
Josh has earned that by being to zero of the last six Super Bowls and winning zero of them. You guys might both be just mid. Well, maybe. But and how good, you know, whether or not this window has closed or whatever it is, all of the conversations people have been eager to have about
the Chiefs are approaching needing to be had about the Bills. But about last night in particular, it is what you predicted. The game went the way you said it would and it was Josh was not able to throttle down from Superman mode in this game.
And I didn't think, by the way, McDermott made game management, did them game management favors win in the fourth quarter. They went for that fourth down. And I understand you're down seven, but there's the beginning of the fourth quarter. I was like, man, against this defense, take your three points whenever you can and see.
You still have Davis Mills on the other side. You might be able to get the ball back quickly. Two things. One, I don't think they have enough.
Partly by injury with Kincaid out. Yes. He really relies on him.
Last year, that was big.
I think we have to view them as like a not Kelsey Mahomes but somewhere maybe on a tier below. And if he's missing, it really hurts him. Two, this Keon Coleman thing is just weird. He was his top third or the third most targeted receiver or pass catcher. And they're just benching him.
Like you really couldn't use him. He just can't be that good. I mean there's they're just benching him. And like you really could have
used can't be that good. I mean there's no other reason
to benching.
Well the weird thing is if you say they don't have enough. We also have one of our top draft picks benched in street clothes by choice. It's it's strange and maybe it's
a culture setting moment.
And I don't think I mean I don't know. I get I get it. It was disciplinary last week. I wouldn't think it's disciplinary now,

and here's the final thing. I'll just take one small victory lap. Oh, I like how ready and running around not really in your face,
but just gently giving you're comparing this to Cal Ripken breaking Lou Gehrig's streak? Just because it wasn't like Joe Carter running around the bases. Yeah, just like very nicely thanking people. I really went out on a limb this week and put my reputation on
the line. Three versus one. You, long time veteran sports reporter, New York Times, everything. You've just, you know, Mr. Consistency, you're consistently right.
And Super Bowl champion Greg Jennings who rolled out the triplet take that turnovers are good. And I said.. I'm willing to put it all on the line, put all my chips in. So, let's see the updated Josh throwing two turnovers graphic.
Again, this is the only way you can really beat the bills is that Josh is a willing participant in their downfall. So, can we dead that narrative or is that about to come back in the question I'm about to ask right now about MVP odds?
So, no, we'll do MVP in a second, but let me answer your question here. I understand that what you're saying makes a lot of sense and you have a lot of evidence on your side. Sure. I think the argument is along these lines. Because Brews questioned about the overall talent of the playmakers plus what I think everybody agrees is the worst defense the Bills have had since Allen and McDermott have been
there. When they play, if they.. Let's just assume they're in the playoffs and Baltimore's offense is back to looking like Baltimore's offense. Is the only path they have to keeping up that they just have to have a ton of high variance plays?
Like that last night, it shouldn't have been necessary. Last night against a backup quarterback and a team whose offense even with the starting quarterback had not been good. But in order to keep pace in a.. Can they be in a shootout without there being turnover worthy plays?
And I think that's the balancing act, so to speak, that I think we're talking about.
And you said it earlier. If Kinkade, when their tight ends are healthy, they can better play that cautious style because he's got his security blanket. But when they're not, it's going to be tougher.
Final quick story. And this is what I think is sort of an underlying flaw of the Bills offense. It's about my high school soccer team. Senior year. I thought it was going to be good.
It was going to be a center forward.
Wow.
Striker?
Yeah.
Wow.
Guess who showed up?

Oh, I was going to..
Unbelievable!
Unbelievable!
And our team became, hey, give it to Paul, man. He's going to make something amazing happen. And he did. We weren't, like, a great team. But we all just were like, dude, pass the ball. Like, the smart play every time.
Get the ball to Paul and then, like, kind of support him somehow. That feels like Dorsey's plan.
Like, you know what? Josh, you got to make some Superman stuff. Have a great.
It wasn't his plan.
Yeah.
I mean until recently it might that's not cook. Yeah, that has not been how they played last season. The end of 2023 and early in this season. It's happened lately.
They've started doing it. I think they rely on them. The bills are in a very precarious spot. Because let's just say for the sake of argument that what has happened in the AFC West this year is what status quo is going to be.
And not the Chiefs being five and five. But like, hey, it's a fight. They're in a fight for their lives against two viable other contenders every year. What the Chiefs have to fall back on is, okay, at least we have those five Super Bowl appearances and
three championships. You know, while the division was in flux. If the Patriots are just going to be the division was in flux, if the Patriots are just going to be there, and I think with Vrabel and May, they're going to be there. Not the one seed every year, but there.
In the mix.
Man, if the Bills come out of that time of the division having nobody with zero one seeds, zero conference championships, and obviously zero Super Bowls, it's a disaster. Like a true disaster. And even if it's not,
it's that they just couldn't beat Mahomes, it's still, it is such a squandered opportunity because it does feel like the Patriots in a year where they have all this cap space, you know, ability to get better.
We're still not all in.
Right. That your guys' roster is about as good as Buffalo's right now, which is stunning to me.

Get started freeThe saving grace for the Bills quickly this year is that nobody looks like a world beating AFC. So, as bad as they look,
they could do it. It's just open. That's why I'm saying why if they it's also why though they have to do it. I'm saying
right. Well, you can say Baltimore is in the same boat
to Baltimore's been at least we don't look at the AFC North like, oh, they've been they've been feasting on an easy division that's about to get tough. We look like Baltimore has had to deal with a tough division this whole time and has had whatever success they've had. Alright, let's quickly do an MVP conversation. Bills are now 7-4, currently in fifth place.
They drop to 2-7 in games when Josh starts but doesn't have a passing or a rushing touchdown. Shows you how important he is to the team. Here are the current MVP odds.
Stafford one Drake at two.
Jonathan Taylor up against the Chiefs at three.
Then Josh Patrick and Jalen Hurts pretty far back there
in your mind. Josh out.
Well, for now, he's out of the potentially winning the MVP conversation. Like he's in the conversation for top five. Now it's a five man ballot. So, he's certainly in that. But the MVP is a three man race.
Stafford, May and Jonathan Taylor. That's it. Now he's, like I said, he's among the rest on the periphery. But right now, it's those three and he's not in it.
I totally agree. In the last 20 years. One quarterback has won an MVP when his team when did not win the division. It was Peyton Manning in 2008 to doubt, by the way, 2008 NFL season, a lot of similarities to this NFL season right now. That's the year of the Patriots after they couldn't complete their historic season, miss the playoffs, Brady got hurt.
The Chiefs trying to complete a historic season didn't. Maybe they missed the playoffs. The Titans were the one seed that year. It was a lot of teams. Arizona makes the Super Bowl in one conference. A weird postseason.
We'll see how this one plays out. If anyone is being reasonable and holding Josh to any type of standard we hold the other MVP quarterbacks either historically or contemporaneously, then the answer is yes. Which is why, of course, he's not out of the MVP conversation.
Because we never have. I joked with you guys about it this morning. Adam Schein, who I think is one of the two or three very best sports radio hosts in America, this morning said last night helped Josh Allen's MVP case. Jim Rome tweeted out this morning Josh Allen after last
night. If you don't acknowledge that Josh Allen is not only the best, also the toughest player in the league. You don't know what you're watching. There is a Calvin Ball element to how Josh Allen is covered, which is when he's awesome, he's awesome.
And when he's not awesome, he's still awesome. And his great performances are evidence of his greatness. And his bad performances are evidence of how much he must do with less. And listen, Josh was great against Patrick, you know, in the Chiefs game.
And they got a huge win. Was awful against the Dolphins. Was great against the Bucs. Was awful yesterday. And people's take away from it.. I don't know that there's

Get started freeany other player in the league who could go into the final drive of the game with no touchdowns, a turnover, less than 200 yards of offense, has taken 70 yards of sacks and people not be like man he really didn't you know didn't show up when his team needed him. But you watch that broadcast and then throw a pick and then throw a pick to lose
the game with another guy's
wide arm. And the broadcast is man poor Josh Allen and the MVP is a media award. And so he'll never be out of it. He'll never
be out of it. I will say this in this season. Nobody none of the guy usual candidates are fully out of other than Lamar since he was injured because if Josh went on a six-game tear and he was spectacular. Yeah, then he could move back in or same
thing, but my home, you know, but barring something like I
don't want to me Josh or Patrick basically have to win
out
and be great and be great. And be great. Like, either win six of seven or five or something like that. And need Stafford and Drake to really slip up. So, he's got matches with Rodgers, which I still think is something head to head. Burrow comes back.
If he out plays Drake in Foxborough and has a six touchdown game, I think that could hurt.
The Browns defense and then the Eagles.
Yeah, that is a tough game.
That's 16-17.
I mean, really, 15, 16, 17 defenses.
But it's just what's frustrating to me is like.. And this is what I was kind of winking and nodding at at the beginning of the show is the way the Chiefs this year and Patrick have been discussed and the way Josh and the Bills have been discussed. Josh and Patrick have the same number of passing touchdowns
this year. The Bills have played one more game. Josh has 40 more passing yards this year. The Bills have played one more game. On yards per game basis. Patrick is killing him. The Josh has turned the ball over more this year. The Chiefs have five losses. The Bills have four
and yet the cut and the but don't don't you think a lot
of that? And this is a compliment to Patrick. I mean, he's just his standard. He has said as much as people love Josh Allen. He's the defending impact. My home standard is so the Chiefs, too. Because you're right. They only have one more loss than the Bills. But we are comparing them to what the Chiefs have been these
last six years or seven years. And that's why it's like, wow. The Chiefs are, you know. So, that's a big part of it.

Get started freeAnd so, I agree with that. And then we can move on. My push back on that is it doesn't feel like, well, it's a compliment because everyone acknowledges Patrick is in the class by himself when the conventional current wisdom on basically every show except this one is Josh Allen is the best quarterback in football. He's the defending MVP.
He's been better this year. He has better numbers this year. He has better numbers this year. He just scored six touchdowns. That he currently, as far as ranking today, not historically, he's holding the belt. But he sure as hell doesn't get graded
like he's holding the belt.
On the other side of the ball, the Texans have won three in a row
thanks to a ferocious defense and competent QB play from Davis Mills. 3-0. 3-0.
Yeah, I knew it.
I knew it.
Should CJ Stroud be benched?
I mean, this is exactly what I was saying.
If he was completing 70-some-odd percent of the pass.
3-0.
He beat Buffalo.
He had a hard time completing passes early on.
19-point comeback against the Prince. 6-5. a hard time completing past 19 point. Come back against the Prince six and five number one in points. Number one in yards. Number one in touchdown interception ratio. Number one passer rating and second and third and fourth down yards per
play.
It seems like an obvious answer. But do you believe that
Texans are a threat in the AFC at six and five? Well, look
right now. I feel like they're more of a spoiler. Like they could ruin a team season. They got a lot of they play the Chiefs They play the Colts a few times so they could maybe ruin that's back-to-back Colts Chiefs next Yeah Colts Chiefs and then yeah, then they got the Colts at the end of the season and I think if they get like I don't think of them generally as a team that could win the AFC but If the Chiefs don't make the playoffs,
Transcribe all your audio with Cockatoo
Get started freethen look at the field. You got, I would take Baltimore over them for sure if they get in because they have Lamar's 5-0 against Tennessee. I mean against Houston and like you said about Patrick, Lamar's own them like 122 pass already. Last year,
they blew him out in the playoffs. Houston did beat Baltimore 44-10, but there was no Lamar. 122 pass already last year. They blew him out in the playoffs. Houston did beat Baltimore 40. Yeah, 10, but there was no low.
Right. And that was the defense was at that point still
struggling.
But outside of that, I mean, come on is is Indy. It's the New England. It's Buffalo. It's like nobody there. If Kansas City is not there, then how can you justify taking anybody
well over Houston
right now? And oddly CJ would have the playoff experience edge against a lot of the team. Yeah, against Bo Nicks. And he hasn't been bad in the playoffs. He has more experience than Herbert and Trevor, you know, the because the veteran quarterbacks that are always there right now on the brink.
So can we throw up Houston's schedule because I listen I am not looking forward to. The game against. So now what the against them at Arrowhead in week 14.
The now again the Chiefs played Houston at the end of last year when Houston's playing for a lot beat him and then played him
in the playoffs.
You guys played him tough, but the Chiefs wearing. Yeah, how to lead in control, but it was they didn't blow him out. I think it becomes a bit of a math problem for the Texans unless they beat Kansas City. Because if they lose to Kansas City now finally there's a team Kansas City has a tiebreaker
over. You know and you've got chargers and Colts that you know will be fighting for their lives or the chargers will be fighting for their lives and we'll see what the Colts are doing at the end of the year.
Yeah but Colts might, there's a scenario where the Colts are resting because they either have the buyer.
I don't think it's going to be that easy for the Colts.
Yeah, I don't think I think the Colts would be like, oh, I don't have the rest of my because they have the buy, but because they can't get the buy and they've locked in the division.
So it's possible. That's what I truly believe about a team who up to this point has been that dominant on defense and that bad on offense because they have been a bad offensive team. It's just such a hard way to do business. And I think last night's the perfect example of it. That defense played close to a perfect game. And all of a sudden, they're up four and Buffalo has the ball on
the 20 yard line. You know what I mean? To win the game. Now we didn't even talk about it. CJ has got to give you more than he's given you this year. But he's just..
I mean, we didn't even talk about it. They also could have won the game if they didn't allow a fourth and 27 hook and lateral, which is one of the sicker plays I mean, they've been in every, I don't think they've lost by more than one score. I think they've been in every game. I think they've been in every game. I think they've been in every game. I think they've been in every game.

Get started freeI think they've been Rams just being by the way. Yes, I think the Jags barely be. I mean, they've been in every I don't think they've
lost by more than one score. So it's one of these teams like we're six and five, but we could be I know we play that
game. If CJ could return close to what he was as a rookie there in the hunt. And two defending champions are headed to Dallas this is Sunday on such a great story is the team maniacally focused on eliminating distractions and supporting each other through adversity. Not exactly. You have your reaction or do you think ages frustrations will have an impact this Sunday against the Cowboys.
My reaction I think will surprise you guys. First of all I do understand what he was saying about and I bet you you do do if you can if you put it to your career. Looking at other receivers, it gets me upset. When you're competitive, you don't, the last thing you wanna see is your opponents winning everything, and you know what I mean, shining.
Not in a selfish way, but they're your opponent.
It'd be different if it was a teammate. That's why I have rivals.
Well, that's true. But that I so I get that correct. And then I know I could be wrong. I don't think it comes off like say Kwan's catching a stray. All right, like I don't think he's ripping say Kwan. I think he's like, well by that that logic, I mean, St. Quine's number, like... And he definitely has.
Right, exactly. So I don't think... I agree with that, too.
It's just a funny ball. Now, it doesn't come off well at all, right? Yeah.
To answer your question,
I actually don't think this will impact the game. Now, I think Dallas is gonna win. I think Dallas is gonna win this game. It's not my upset alert. I had to go big game, honey, but I think Dallas is going to win the game, but I think they're just going to win because it's a con. It's a division rival. Dallas is starting to play. Well, they're motivated. They got a sign of hope out there
and Philly's kind of due for a loss. The question is, will this send the locker room spiraling? We even more than it is now. That's going to be the big question. But I don't.. I just think there.. I don't think it's going to be because A.J. didn't do anything.
I actually think he may have a decent game. I just think it's going to be Dallas wins this game not because of anything A.J. said or did.
I am starting to become more and more convinced that while A.J. Brown is maybe at times a clumsy messenger, that he has more support in that locker room than a lot of the media seems to believe.
He's not just lone wolfing it out there.
It is very difficult media seems to believe. He's not just lone wolfing it out there. It is very difficult for me to believe. I understand A.J. Brown is an all-pro player and an alpha and, you know, a leader in that locker room by virtue of his accolades and his experience. If it was pretty universally agreed upon in that locker room, this guy is out of line, it would be police differently. I would think so.
You know, there are too many other guys that have accolades. They all have rings to, you know, to be like, hey, this has to stop to where the report would be. There was a confrontation in the locker room, you know what I mean, between somebody.
And that's not what's happening. And so, again, and I want to be very clear, this is, not only is this not reporting, it's not even like whispered insight. Like this is just my own personal intuition that folks like, man, I'm glad AJ's taking the bullets
Transcribe all your audio with Cockatoo
Get started freefor us on this one. AJ doesn't mind. He's shining a spotlight on something all of us think is an issue. And now this KW might be confirmation bias for me on a previous take, which is who is the quarterback that I have most
consistently compared Jalen Hurts to? It's Russell Wilson. From a play style perspective, from where they were drafted, from what we thought of them, from the numbers early on weren't there but he was a winner to the check down or deep ball stuff, all of that.
But the other thing that was true about Russell Wilson is for a guy who won that much and never said a cross word publicly, he wasn't as beloved in the locker room as other quarterbacks. And in fact, you know, that one really broke down and there was a real division out locker room. It feels like we are approaching that in Philadelphia because I
just can't believe K.W. that if people thought what A.J. was doing was so bad, that's not true. Philadelphia because I just can't believe, K.W., that if people thought what A.J. was doing was out of line or unfair to Jalen, that they wouldn't have stopped it. Or that there wouldn't be more guys saying like, hey,
like, alright, I'll publicly say, you know, I'll stand in my locker and say, yeah, we don't.. A., AJ's his own man. He can say what he wants. We don't agree with him. What you know, and I know that would cause you.
Maybe that's an extreme, but to your point and then I don't know what the media is doing down there in Philly. Somebody should be asked several of the team. The high-ranking team players, should be asked about this. Even if you want to say, hey, the media is making a big deal out of what AJ is saying. It seems like he and Jaylen are at odds.
Like, just get some quotes from these guys.
But Diana had some stuff. And then the other report was..
No, the stuff is that it's within the organization. Everybody agrees with AJ.
We're kicking around Carson Wentz's name as far as the division between quarterback and team. Yeah. Can I ask you a question, bro? I don't understand statistically what set AJ Brown off about like why this offense is so broken. Dusty, can you pull up Eagles pass play percentage with Jalen Hurts? This hasn't been a passing scheme that just fell off the cliff. Last year? Last. This year? 31st. Actually passing a little bit more.
And I know we're not going to pass the least because Saquon is cooking. But it's never been a Joe Burrow type offense that all of a sudden turned and Tee Higgins was like, Oh, I didn't sign up for this. It has always been this. So I don't know how it
could be copacetic for a while and then all of a sudden. Well, because a few years ago AJ
was getting his numbers. He was having the best years of his career early when he first got to Philly with Jalen. Here's another graphic. Look, AJ, whether he's, everybody agrees with him in the locker room or not, he should look in the mirror too, because this is his average yards of separation, and I know that those numbers might not mean much to people. It's obviously gotten worse. So this year he's getting less than two yards separation. Here's what will stand out to people. That is last in the league, dead last,
among 59 receivers with 40 or more targets. We know Jalen is cautious, right? You better be open. If you want him to throw you to rock and AJ while he can win a lot of those 5050 balls. He's not getting separation. And that's probably why Jalen is not going to him as much and going more to Devante.
Okay, throw one one little this is very fuzzy analysis. Remember I was like and it really didn't make any sense. Remember I was like I wonder if the Eagles take on a us versus the world attitude even though the division is internal.
Video today was that the Eagles started practicing to hate me I was like, oh, maybe that's taking it on. There's a lot of angst, but you circle the wagons. We live in the muck and the mire. Y'all can handle this in your locker room, but we can't.
There's something to it that it might be unifying in a strange way.
Let me ask one other question before we move on. Do you think right now truth serum is the best thing that's ever been
invented? There's something to it. That it might be unifying in a strange way. Maybe. Can I, let me ask one other question before we move on. Do you think right now, truth serum, Howie Roseman feels like, should have traded him?
Yes. Yes, I do.
Yes. That we would.
I don't know how you couldn't.
That just we would, yes, we'd be down. Maybe we'd regret it. I would try to get a receiver for right, but we'd would have there would be no noise right now surround and again, maybe maybe he one of the reasons he didn't is how he knows man. If I trade AJ, it's going to be and if everyone agrees with him, then all of a sudden we're going to hear it
from other places and AJ is the.'s the shield for it. But I don't know. Just from a winning team, not the Patriots are winning. The vibes in New England are out of this world. Mack Hollins and Stefan Diggs, they're all there talking about
each other, supporting each other.
What helps Philly though is that vibes were not that different last year and they are the whole
thing. Yes, weird. It's very strange. Okay, moving on.
Colts in Kansas City. It's a big story. Well, it's
this week one on the Broncos. Why are we showing this? This is week one. On the defensive side. Why are they showing that? Here are the ranks this season with the Colts versus the Chiefs. Yeah. Daniel Jones, the Colts, number one scoring offense. So, who's under more pressure, the Chiefs offense or defense? I think it's the Chiefs defense.
And again, I've said this, but if people haven't watched this week, Patrick did not play well enough against Denver. And he had one of the least efficient games of his career against Buffalo. So, those last two games, a big part of the reason they lost is the greatest quarterback I've ever seen didn't play up to his
standards. I understand that. Despite that, I believe Patrick will hold up his end of the bargain this weekend. And so, I think that the offense, the pressure on the offense is a release valve a bit and I think
we're going to get a really good Patrick Mahomes game. The question is, is the defense going to be able to get off the field on third and long? And is the defense going to be able to get off the field on third and long? And is the defense going to be able to be one of the only teams this year to not let Jonathan Taylor put up such a stat line that in 2025 we're talking about giving running backs an MVP.
When we were at Saquon.. Saquon, we are a year removed from running back being able to set the all-time yardage record, choosing not to for an awesome team. And everyone's like, well, he's not the MVP. And then so, to me, the pressure is on the defense. That was not good enough.
The Chiefs offense brew against Denver had an excuse. Playing the Broncos defense, they're awesome. You know, the Chiefs defense did not have an excuse. Playing the Broncos offense, you should have been able to get stops and they weren't able to.
I hear what you're saying because the defense of the Chiefs is facing a better unit. They're facing the best offense in the league statistically, best running back. And the Chiefs offense is not.. They're facing a solid defense, not a great defense.

Get started freeBut pressure, they say, is what? A result of expectations. Patrick Mahomes is the face of the team and he obviously is the offense, you know, as the quarterback. So I just think winner lose like it's going to be on my homes. If they lose this game, people are going to be looking at Patrick Mahomes. Now, I guess
if it were 40 to 38, then you could say, okay, my homes did everything good. But if he loses, if it's not a shootout 40 to 38, then you could say, okay, my homes did everything you could but if he loses if it's not a shootout to that extent. They will be he couldn't out gun. Daniel Jones. It could be
lines going to die at some point. We got to be like
Daniel Jones in this offense, but it's but he's not close to my homes though. And and Daniel Jones, let's keep it real last two right. Not just that. He's got 15 touchdowns. Not high and seven picks high. Like so it's not like he's been phenomenal, but you could now gun Daniel Jones or it might come down to Wow again. They had the ball at the end of the game chance to
win and unlike all the years past Mahomes didn't deliver. So I just think he's going to be the storyline because he's
Patrick.
I also just one thing about the Chiefs offense in the unit they'll be facing. So Trevorious Ward who was a chief and was excellent then was on the Niners obviously.
And the famous of Travis Kelsey miked up during the Super Bowl of him going nose to nose with Travarious Ward saying, oh, you like it more over there. You like to stay over there. So, Travarious is with the Colts.
He got a concussion in pre-game a month ago. Hasn't played. He's back. Sauce Gardner. So, this will be the first time that they have the two corners, you know, Sauce they traded for and Shavarius Ward who's a really good player.
So, that will add..
Off a buy.
Right, off a buy, add an extra wrinkle to this Colts defense. Sauce was learning on the fly, too.
He was talking about like, I've never studied so hard.
He got burnt, too.
But now he has had a week. But now he has had a week.
He's getting settled. I'm sure he was to make amends. He's not lining up well, and I'm a Chiefs guy.
