THE GREENLAND THREAT & THE CANADIAN CONNECTION

Hey there Midas Canada viewers, Resisters from all over, Charlie Angus here.So, the threat to Greenland is back on.Well, it was never off, was it?No, because there's two things you can really always count on with Donald Trump.Number one is his determination to force the people of Greenland under the American flag to threaten Denmark and break apart the Western alliances so he can claim control of Greenland.And the second thing is his hatred of Canada and that anything he uses against Greenland, he will use against us.

So this latest threat is very, very important to pay attention to because he's not doing it diplomatically or with the Pentagon.He probably can't even get them to sign off.This is being done with mega companies acting as freebooters who are just going in without permission in defiance of Greenland sovereignty to set up shop and take the resources.If they can do that in Greenland, You can bet your bottom dollar they will use the same tactics in Canada and what is very concerning is that there are two Canadian companies that are involved.In fact, the supplies that are being used to go into Greenland without permission may be flying under a Canadian flag.So that is very concerning.

It involves us and we have to be very super aware of what's happening at this time in the Arctic.

If there was a revolution, I'd offer a solution.If there was a revolution, no one came.If they sent you down to save you, gave you tools instead of favors.If there was a revolution...

Okay, so Donald Trump, who's made a complete mess.of the war in Iran.He cannot get the deal.Benjamin Netanyahu is giving him the finger over Donald Trump's attempt to get the peace treaty in Gaza signed.Everything is going badly.They're losing jobs in the United States.

Canada is gaining jobs.Donald Trump has promisedthat he would make the people of Greenland better off than under the Danish and yet the Danish economy is doing better than the American economy.So what does Donald Trump do?He goes back to where he always goes to.He goes back to threaten intimidation and he goes on right -wing talk radio and he says that you can put a bet, you can place a bet that he is going to control Greenland by the end of his term.

And then he put out this super creepy truth social post It looks like him as some kind of creepy person looking in a kid's bedroom.It's like him looking over this quiet little village and saying, hello Greenland, total predator stuff.And lo and behold, that happens just as this company from Texas that calls themselves Greenland Energy announces that they're going into Greenland to start drilling in a very ecologically fragile zone, even though it turns out they don't have the permits to do it.So we're going to look at the play that is happening here.We're going to look at the players, and we're going to look at actually how what's being done is undermining the larger geopolitical interests of the United States, not that Donald Trump cares.And yeah, we got to talk about these Canadian companies.

Okay, so what we're seeing with Greenland Energy is it's run by Larry Sweat, classic MAGA oil guy from Texas, right there in the pocket with Donald Trump.So what's he doing?offering in terms of moving into Greenland.Well, he's put together this company and he's got Dr. Phil involved.Classic mega grift, right?Dr. Phil.

What's he doing?Well, he's going to make a documentary of the wildcatters coming up to the far north and blah, blah, blah, blah.And then he's also hired a very top -notch Navy guy who's involved in the so -called Golden Dome Defense.That's something that Canada is supposed to be part of.So we've got a military guy being brought in.This is what's really telling right now.

in terms of, we're seeing, saw this with Nova Red Mining, the disastrous decision by Nova Red Mining, the American company that set up in Canada to do copper exploration, then brought Kristi Noem in, and Canadians are so pissed, and the good Midas Mighty spoke up, and their stock is just tank, tank, tank, tank, tank, tank, tank.But what was really striking about Nova Red Mining was that they're bringing in U .S.military guys.Why do you need military people if you're doing resource development?Oh, right.

You see, what we're going back to here is the old notion of how empires were built.We've sort of forgotten the history of how things were done that got the Europeans in control of the world's resources.They didn't do it because they were smarter.They didn't do it because they were more advanced.They did it because they brought guns and their front line of the attack on countries in the global south were gangsters.gangsters and freebooters and pirates who went in and set up illegal operations and started to take the resources of these countries against the country's will.

And then what happened?That allowed them to put the flag of convenience, whether it was Spain, whether it was Portugal, whether it was the Union Jack, whether it was France, to claim the territory on behalf of these governments.I mean, look at how the British Empire was founded.You know, as a kid, we used to make these model ships of telling the story of these heroic guys like Francis Drake, Sir Francis Drake.Yeah, well, Francis Drake was a pirate.He robbed and killed people on the high seas.

He was involved in the slave trade.He was not a nice person, but he furthered British interests geopolitically at the time.Same with Walter Raleigh.Another name I remember as a kid, oh my god, sounded like a great hero.A man who was so out there that the Brits finally had to give him the chop.because, again, illegally invading other countries and stealing their resources.

That's how those empires were built.And we forgot that in the 20th century when we set up things like international law, and treaties and the law of the sea.All the things that this age of monsters is trying to undermine and all the things that Donald Trump has attacked again and again and again.Notions of sovereignty, notions of obligations on the international seas and so they're using all of this against Greenland.Now Greenland has stated that there were no permits given to this company to come in and start drilling.They said all future logistical matters must be advised and approved by the Mineral Resources Authority before they are carried out.

That's how international law operates and that's how companies and that's how countries maintain their sovereignty.But we have now this mega company going in and saying, Well, what do you mean permits?We're setting up and we're bringing Dr. Phil to film us and they're bringing two Canadian companies.So they've been at this for some time setting this up.So one of these companies is Stampede Drilling from Calgary.Their phone number is 403 -984 -5042.

That's 403 -984 -5042.And the company president was quoted as saying, oh, we're really excited to be part of this.There are not too many opportunities like this in North America, let alone globally.What are these opportunities?Going into countries without their permission?Have you guys looked into this stampede?

Drilling in terms of legal obligations?Now, the ships that are going to be carrying these supplies and penetrating the sovereignty of Greenland territorial waters is de Gagne's shipping from Quebec City.Their number is 418 --692 -1000 418 -692 -1000 and Deganier D -E -S -G -A -G -N -E -S They have a Facebook page so you can go and let them know what you think of the fact that they say that this is going to be an adventure and they're going to be flying the Canadian flag.I'm sorry, what the frick?You're going to be flying the Canadian flag to represent these freebooters going into Greenland?

You better make sure that they have all the permits in place.So how is this going to play out?Well, we don't know.The real concern is that rather than have a dangerous confrontation with Donald Trump, Greenland will suddenly pass the permits and let this company go into ecologically fragile waters where there's no drilling allowed and let them start raping the land.This is a real concern because if this happens, then they will come back for more.This is exactly the plan.

This is what Donald Trump is trying to find out.Can we intimidate Greenland enough to back down this time, to make concessions, to try and be reasonable?Because if they can walk into another country and take resources without permitting or without right, and the country allows that to happen, then they're going to do that again.And you know for a fact they are going to do that against Canada.This will be the play, whether it's in the Northwest Passage or it's on the Great Lakes.I mean Donald Trump has already said that he thinks he should arbitrarily be able to move our border 50 kilometers.

So you don't think he thinks he doesn't have the right to cross over at 25 kilometer mark and start doing something?Or in the Northwest Passage where the United States has never recognized our sovereignty.What we've done in the past is be polite with each other.They ask permission and we grant it.But what if they say, we're not going to ask permission, we're just going to move in and hey, we're going to move in some oil drilling rigs and we're just going to take it.All this is playing out at a very important geopolitical moment.

Because with the growing climate instability and the disappearing snow and ice in the Arctic, suddenly the Arctic has become a major focus for geopolitical intrigue.So it's understandable that the United States, Mr. Global Power, wants to have their flag up in the Arctic.But the problem is, they don't have the moxie for it.They're not set out for this.Right now, the Russians are the big players.The Russians have the air bases.

The Russians have the icebreakers.The Russians have years and years and years of experience.The Chinese are moving in in the Arctic.Same thing.The United States doesn't have the icebreakers.Literally, they don't have icebreakers.

They've been relying on Canada or More pointedly, Norway.Norway is the key ally in terms of the defense of the Arctic.Norway has put enormous effort into maintaining its Arctic control.The Americans don't have the expertise, they don't have the materials, they don't have the know -how, but what have they done?They pissed Norway off.They've insulted Norway.

They've insulted Norway's allies.The United States would be reliant on Norway to push their Arctic claims, but Donald Trump's not interested in our allies, and he's not interested in the claims of the United States.Is he a Manchurian candidate?I mean, it's been raised a thousand times.He has actively undermined American interests.So, for example, Canada.

On the dew line, To rebuild the dew line is going to take a lot of work and a hell of a lot of money.You could pressure Canada to spend more, but if you start attacking Canada's sovereignty, what do you think they're going to do?What Canada has done.We're now talking about overseeing surveillance of the high Arctic without the United States.We're doing it with Norway, with Finland, with Sweden, our Nordic allies.So the Americans don't have Canada on this.

Finally, Finland and Sweden joined NATO.which was an extraordinary move.These would be key allies in the Arctic.They show up for the first meetings at NATO after having joined.And I was at the first NATO meetings in Brussels after the Trump regime came in.And what did the Trump MAGA officials do?

They came in and started insulting these allies and saying that they weren't carrying their weight.I'm sorry, you're telling me that Finland doesn't know how to carry its weight and standing up to the Russians?Finland is set up.so that every single person in Finland can fit comfortably in an underground bunker.They have more artillery on those front lines than anyone.Everyone in Finland knows how to defend their country.

Same with Sweden.Sweden was offering to train American soldiers They found with the Americans though, they don't pay attention.They've got this hubris.They don't think there's anything that can teach them.Well, if you think you can go up in the high Arctic and you don't need to be taught some lessons, well, just say Franklin Expedition and see how that goes.Now, I encourage people to read the book Polar War by Kenneth R. Rosen.

It's a fascinating read on the change in geopolitics of the Arctic and also the absolute failure of the United States to understand what they're up against.And I just also want to go back, this obsession that Donald Trump has with Greenland.It doesn't come from a geopolitical focus on the need to have security up there to withstand the Russians or the Chinese or whoever the hell else is up there.This was an idea that popped into his head because he was sold on it by cosmetics billionaire Ralph Lauder.Yeah, Estee Lauder, you know the people who make mascara.He told Donald Trump he thought it'd be a great idea for Donald Trump's legacy to be

Greenland.That's what got in Donald Trump's head.I am NOT making this up.You can look this up.So a mascara billionaire told Donald Trump to take Greenland and that's been his obsession ever since.He is undermining his allies.

He's undermining global security.He's doing this to help his MAGA buddies.He's leaving America high and dry at a time they need alliances, but he's trying to destroy the international rule of law.And as for Canada, we can't have companies going along with this.We can't have companies.agreeing to go into other nations to help MAGA at this time.

So if these companies are going in and their permits are not issued, if this is not legal, it has to be stopped.So this is why you'd have to contact the transportation ministry, why you have to contact Enid Enand at Foreign Affairs, unless there are proper permitting For these drill rigs in Greenland, Canadian companies cannot be allowed to participate in any way, no matter what, because it would represent the kind of return to gangster piracy that we saw in the 19th century and we don't need it in the 21st century.We need the rule of law.This is where we're at, my friends.We're getting great messages.I want to thank everybody.
