The Obama Library Opening Was a DISASTER...

The Obama Presidential Library just opened, but some of the workers aren't too happy.

It all comes as some subcontractors are claiming they have not yet been paid for the work they have done.Why?

So many of our black contractors are complaining about they have not got their money.But the other side of it, a lot of the black community and the newspapers do not know that these people have not been paid.Contractors are already in bankruptcy.That's what they're saying, that if it wasn't the fact that they worked on this Obama project, they would not be under this type of problem.

They're going bankrupt!And now the Obama Foundation tells Fox News Digital that it paid Lakeside Alliance, a local construction company, as the project's construction manager, and that Lakeside was responsible for hiring, managing, and paying subcontractors working on the center.

So there's $850 million to play with here, but the people in charge of this, the people who it's named after, can't figure out how to get Some of that money to the people who build it?That's weird.

That's an indictment.Wow.and they're scared to death about talking about it.Someone will hang up the phone on you and just say, I don't want to talk about that.That's crazy.Yeah, we've met with them on several terms.

But that's when they told us they had to stop conversation about it because they all signed a non -disclosure.

So they're trying to keep people quiet.about what the payment mayhem is like over here.Meanwhile, the whole show and pizzazz surrounding this thing is exactly what you might expect.

The immigrants proving what it truly means to be a dreamer.These folks, these folks aren't Americans too.They areAmerica, the beating heart of this country.They are us and we are them.And to ignore this simple truth, to refuse to respect the contributions and experiences of people who aren't exactly like us.

Y 'all, it puts us all at risk.

Is it just me or does she not seem thrilled with the current state of our country or the direction our current president is taking it?

Notice there's no members of the Trump family who were invited to this.

You got W, you got Mrs. W back here, you got Bill and this looks like Hill, and this whole thing.is supposed to be a massive monument to the accomplishments of Barack Obama.And if Trump had built something like this, ask yourself, what would people be saying?He can't even renovate the ballroom.Look at this.

Today, the campus spans 19 acres of Jackson Park.19 acres.A hefty price tag of $850 million.It's a compound., Wow.Oh, that's nice.

Look at this.

The drapes that Trump immediately changed are not present.I wonder why that is.

And during the opening ceremony, he couldn't help but take a subtle shot at what appears to be the current president.

Everything's about money and everything's about attention and everything's about fame.

Well, okay.First of all, I just want to point out how miserable the Obamas look here.Look, they should be happy.Here we have Americans celebrating their accomplishments and whether you like President Obama or not, hey, I'm not done y 'all.

Not done.So much to say.You were doing the people's work.Rescuing our economy.Expanding healthcare.Ending a war.

Ordering the Bin Laden raid.Saving an auto industry.Winning a peace prize.Oh the Nobel Peace Prize that matters keeping us safe from Ebola Regulating the banks standing up for marriage equality thing to science and comforting an entire nation in the face of unspeakable tragedies so Trump doesn't listen to science with such grace and class andcool look at Bill you made the hardest job in the mouth has been open the entire time walk in this beautiful park he thinks they're talking about mother Oakland does to Gramps you are a tribute to their love they are up there grinning and hugging today because you never forgot who you are and where you came from single mother working hard to get by and get an education and show her son the world.

And that's the thing, this idea that America's some awful place where single moms who want to work hard are providing a future that doesn't exist for their children, I mean that's what we're being told.This whole thing is about talking about how nobody can get ahead in America and how people are being held back and how we're so lucky that President Obama came along and gave us the affordable CARE Act and set our economy on the right foot, but does everyone agree with that?

His domestic policies were terrible, his economic policies were terrible, and his foreign policies were worse.Right, a lot of people are saying that.You talk about a managed decline of America's fortunes, he is the embodiment of that, a mismanaged decline.And the good news is, President Trump has reversed almost all of them.But history will prove whether the Trumpian legacy extends beyond or not.We don't know that yet, but certainly he is reversing it.

So I give President Obama that much, that point.I consider it, as a civil rights person, I consider it a very important point.When people were screaming at me when I was in the government and White House in 2020, And people from other networks were yelling at me about why didn't I understand racism this and racism that.I used to point out that a black president won twice with handsome majorities.How is that possible if the country is totally racist?And they never wanted to answer that.

and apparently things are even more divided in America if you listen to the party of political division They'll tell us that this is a terrible country where somebody like Barack Obama who is from Chicago?

Will never get ahead if we could bridge some of the differences that drove us apart then we could build an America where?Everyone counts and everyone has a fair shot and everyone so no one has a fair shot in our country even a mixed race kid with a weird backstory and a name nobody could pronounce.

Who became president twice.

And President and Dr. Biden, thank you for your steadfast partnership for eight years.Joe, we started as running mates and ended as family.What did they do with all the criminals?We would not be here without you.We are grateful.To our amazing foundation staff, amazing board, to Governor Pritzker, Mayor Johnson, thank you for making this center possible.

To congressional leaders and foreign dignitaries who've made the trip cherish our partnership together and all we got accomplished.

It's almost like there is a presidential legacy here that somebody does not want to see disappear or be remade by Trump as Trump is negotiating a new deal with a certain country in the Middle East right now.A deal that he says is better and will make America safer than thedeal President Obama worked out with that country.Isn't that interesting?And at the exact same time, you have the country suffering from a lot of things that President Obama brought in that were supposed to be great, like the Affordable Care Act, which has now made healthcare unaffordable for pretty much everybody.

For me, this center could not be anyplace else.

And let's talk about the center.

It's an expression of thanks.

It's an expression of something.

An acknowledgment that so much of what I hold most dear, I owe to the people of this city and the people of these surrounding neighborhoods.And it's why we designed the center not to be some lifeless mausoleum.That's what it is. I am too young for that.

It looks like a lifeless mausoleum.It's a brutalist architecture.

Not just a place to see Michelle's dresses, although I understand that will be the top attraction.I mean, that's the most light.We wanted it to be a vibrant, living celebration of community.

Is that what this place is?I mean, just look at it.It doesn't look vibrant at all.I think Michelle's dresses are going to be the most vibrant thing in there full of life.I don't know about the exterior of this.And Trump even said that he had some questions about the way it was built.

Right.And I think that's also reflected, I mean, I hope I can say this, but can we just note the building design?If you haven't looked at it, you should Google it and take a look.Interesting building.Describe it as quite something.

So I got my degree in architectural history, or art history.So it's brutalism is dead because it's ugly.And just look at the Marcel Breuer building on Madison.It used to be the Whitney.They couldn't even find what to do with that doggone thing.I think one of the auction houses is in it now.

It's a compound.It's butt ugly.And so they're trying to, well, they're bringing butt ugly back, or trying to, because that's what it looks like, globalism.I guess when you spend - $850 million, Brian.

Right.When you spend $850 million on something, at a certain point, The project is set in stone, literally.You have to finish what you started.

His policies were awful, my judgment.

Just listening to that soundbite, we've had a debate on this program about the birth rates falling, why are young men struggling in this society.were opening up a library, I feel like there would be a message of hope, excitement, all of these things, and that was sort of like a downer.And I think that is why there have been studies done that the left is not having kids because they think that the earth is dying, climate change is coming, all hell is breaking loose.The right seems to have a lot of optimism and excitement and future, and we believe that the best is yet to come despite everything in this country.So I think just listening to that, it was like, Gosh, what a way to open it just so down instead of optimistic and to me that just encapsulates right now The left and apparently things are even more divided in America if you listen to the party of political division They'll tell us that this is a terrible country where somebody like Barack Obama who is from Chicago?

Will never get ahead where people like the Obamas have no chance in our country whatsoever, but here they are opening a presidential center I mean the very existence of this presidential center proves that every single thing they say is wrong with our country actually isn't.People gave them the money to do this.We're told that rich people aren't generous.Well, rich people pay for this thing to be built.I guess the workers are still waiting to get paid.But it's almost like this whole monument exists in direct conflict with the things that President Obama did.

is saying about the country as he's on these tours, as he's out there talking about how America is being destroyed right now.I mean, how is it being destroyed?What's really changing is the legacy he's left behind and is trying to maintain for some reason.

When we stop believing that voting matters, that citizenship matters, that our collective voices matter, that how we treat each other no longer matters, then we give away our power to decide our own futures.Okay, we open the door to the most ruthless or the most careless or the most fearful among us Oh, who's he talking about who see some groups and some people as more equal than others?Who are those people though and see government is nothing more than a way to divvy up the sports?Who's he talking about punish enemies?Isn't that what and keep those who are different in their place?

I can't believe I'm hearing this his Justice Department is went after his political enemies.

I do not believe that is the story of America that prevails in the end.

So did Biden's.There was weaponization at the federal level.

I don't believe it because for us to give up, for us to give in now, after all this country's been through, to cynicism and division would be a betrayal of our founding ideals.

Who's preaching cynicism and division?

A betrayal of our faith.And I remain convinced that the overwhelming majority of Americans feel the same way.

Uh, yes, but...

That as unsettled as we are, people aren't looking for perpetual anger and division.They are looking for fairness and common sense.

But where are we getting fairness and common sense in America from these days?And who's angry all the time?Who are these people walking around me?all the time?I would love some specific examples because it sure seems to me like we all know who the people are that are angry all the time.And we all know who the people are that are preaching division all the time.

We know who those people are.I don't really know how he can square that with his message that he's saying in front of his presidential center which represents everything that he's saying is not true.

He came back to the community that nurtured him, the community his wife was from, and built this edifice that will be an economic blessing to the community, but a sign of hope to the world.And he really meant it when he said it was about service.And this is a center of service.So I'm ecstatic to be here today.I was teasing them.I missed the Knicks parade.

That's how important it is to be here.

Not a sacrifice, but that does say a lot.

You know, can I ask you a really honest question?Right now we're in very turbulent times.He was the first black president in the United States.How important is it to have this center right now during these times when, for instance, DEI initiatives?Some support it, the fact that they're being erased, but others are very dismayed by it.How important is it?

Very important, Dana.When you look at the fact that DEI redistricting, which is undermining the Voting Rights Act - This gives you an example.

of the worldview that people have towards America right now on a certain side of the political aisle, shall we say.And it's not a good one.These are not people who are excited about our country.These are not people who are excited that the 250th year of our country is upon us.These are not people who are excited that America is now respected on the world stage.apparently only 27 % of Democrats are gonna display the country's flag on July 4th so that I think that says it all right there those are the people who were invited to this propaganda arrangement for the opening of this center.

Has Barack Obama been a historic figure?Absolutely, but there's nothing to be depressed about.This should be something that we all celebrate, but the speeches and the rhetoric is just trying to divide and attack what makes our country great to begin with and allowed President Obama to do all the stuff that he did and will in the future allow more people like President Obama to succeed here.What do you think about that?I'll see you in the next video.
