‘Too cringeworthy’: Albanese under fire over public fawning of Kylie Minogue
The story about our Prime Minister publicly lusting after Kylie Minogue is just too cringeworthy, I know, but it's important to discuss for a number of reasons.First, it shows poor judgement.Anthony Albanese has become so arrogant, so full of hubris, that he thinks he can do as he pleases. He keeps slipping up, but now, finally, people are waking up to it.In fact, it reminds me of one of my favourite Kylie Minogue songs.
You did it again.
Yeah, Albo's poor judgment is a problem. But this issue also goes to hypocrisy.Labor loves to lecture and even demonise its political enemies as sexist and misogynistic, but it goes to water when its own side transgresses. And third, this highlights the dumbing down of politics and how Labor and the Green left more broadly are constantly promoting idiocy and ignorance instead of facts and proper debate. This also embarrasses the nation. It demeans the office of Prime Minister.
I mean, the PM was in Fiji today formalising an important defence agreement and trying to stand up to China, just as the communist superpower was intimidating the region with a long range missile test in the South Pacific.Important matters of state were at hand.and the PM's authority was undercut by his own inanity.Diplomats would have been sniggering and some Pacific leaders would have been astonished by Albanese's schoolboy antics. The PM made the Kylie comments to a comedy podcaster who was given privileged access at the Lodge.
We're at rapid fire questions. Now, every guest gets asked these.Shag, marry, date.Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, or Rihanna?
I've just got married, I'm only six months in.
But if it goes tits up, let's just pretend.
Oh, Kylie, clearly.
You'd marry Kylie?And shag her?And date her?
All of the above.
Alright, so triple?
She's terrific.
Alright, that's fair.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is the Prime Minister of your country. It was Trump -like, wasn't it?Albo is so full of himself now that he behaves like Donald Trump, won't he love that?Or did he think he was funny or cool or something?Where's his judgment?Has the job gone to his head?
We all know what Albanese would say if Angus Taylor was involved in this sort of exchange. But for some reason he didn't think to be more sensible himself. It didn't take long for the real world to give him a reality check.
I'd like to bring you to the regular broadcasting for a special mention from the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia.People Anthony would like to have sex with.Yeah, I think it's a little bit below him.
When you cede the high moral ground to Barnaby Joyce on this sort of caper, given the scandals that he's been involved in, you know you must be in strife.
What do you think, harmless fun or maybe not very statesmanlike for the Prime Minister to be talking about shagging Kylie Minogue?

Good Lord.Look, he's not some bloke at the pub. He's the prime minister.Just a bit of decorum, please.I mean, Labor has always pretended it's got very high standards on this stuff. They weaponised issues of sexism against two coalition leaders, Scott Morrison
Tony Abbott.Abbott was scarified over nothing more than a wink.
What was that?
Oh, it doesn't look good. What a creep. What a total creep.A pensioner who works on a sex line, I would be a little bit like, woah, okay.
It just adds to the gaffe -prone, anything -around -women Tony Abbott.
Can you imagine another world leader dropping the ball like this?
He's mocking the people who dare to criticise him.
It just shows that Tony Abbott doesn't get it.You accept the PM's explanation of the...
I wasn't in the studio and didn't see what happened.I was looking at John Fane.He was smiling at me and I winked back at him. What I did was hmm.
And you've seen Tony Abbott's reaction.A pensioner who does phone sex work to make ends meet says Tony Abbott is as sleazy as some of the people who call her.
Prime Minister, are you regretting yesterday's wink?
Yes.
I think it's time he stepped down as the Minister for Women.Would you consider that?
No.Yeah, that's Labor and the Green -Left's standard against the Coalition. But when it comes to their own leader, the Labor feminists have gone missing in action.
Well, if what the Prime Minister's saying is that he's a fan of Kylie Minogue, I guess that puts him in a group with millions of other Australians, including me.Including me. I'm a big fan of Kylie's as well.
Would you play the Shag, Marry, Date game on a podcast?
Yeah, no one's asked me that question anytime recently, I can tell you that.Okay.

Get started freeYeah, well, she was just asked that question and she didn't answer it, did she?As I often say, if the left didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all. Now, the other serious point that all this highlights is the dumbing down of politics.Albanese won't come onto this program, he won't sit here to answer serious questions about the economy or his election promises. He won't turn up here because he knows I'll disagree with him on some issues and I'll ask him some difficult questions. But instead, he finds time for some pretty questionable podcasts.
This all goes to the dumbing down of politics, doesn't it?Labor knows a lot of voters don't pay attention to the facts or serious political debates, so they flood social media trying to win over disengaged voters with dross.Yeah, this is their strategy, and sadly, it's worked for them over the past two elections.Politics is getting dumber.Serious problems are not being addressed. And from the Prime Minister down, the government pumps out social media nonsense.
They're treating voters like fools. And we've got to hope people are smart enough to object.
