TRANSFER OF THE SUMMER!

Hello, everybody.Welcome to That's Football.Welcome to your latest transfer news.And lots to get into this morning involving lots of different clubs.Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, and also...Something that's gonna get swept under the carpet because that's what society's like a big big big bit of news coming out That we'll talk about in a few minutes time, but let's delve into some big updates coming out from Fabrizio Romano Also, Danny Welbeck to Chelsea.

Here we go.Is it genius?Is it stupidity?Give me your thoughts on that.We do have a here We go on that deal now for Chelsea a wonder which Chelsea players gonna go to Brighton for about a hundred million quid Maybe that's a bit cynical, but let's just wait and see But look, two big updates to start off with.We'll start off with Liverpool.

We'll start off with Barcola.This is a deal that a lot of people think is going to happen.We know that there is a big price tag being attached by PSG.But lots of talk over the last 24 to 12 hours about talks with Barcola and his preference is to sign for Liverpool.So remember yesterday we were talking about how it doesn't look like Vinicius Junior is going to go to Arsenal, so maybe they would look about that.However, reports coming in from France, La Kippa saying that Barcola has verbally agreed to join Liverpool this summer from PSG.

He's spoken with the manager at Liverpool, Iriola, and hopes the two clubs can reach an agreement.

There is a significant gap in valuation, but obviously that's good when you have the buy -in from the player.Also Romano backing this up by saying Barcola wants Liverpool and there's no doubt on that.This has been reported since May.

Liverpool is the priority project for him, but any financial agreement is yet to be approved, done or sealed, seen as natural step.But at the right time, talks will take place in the next few days.

So look, positive news for Liverpool there.I do think Barcola is i think it's a very liverpool deal because it's probably the i mean i know

know Jürgen Klopp's not there anymore, but I do think that Liverpool, when you look at their last few years, you take a Salah, they become world class.You take a Van Dijk, they become world class.You take a player like Jota from Wolves, and they go up a level.Luis Diaz, go up a level.Gravenberch, go up a level.So, Liverpool have this rich history, recent history of taking a player, and taking them to another level.

And if they can do that with Barcola, who I think needs that platform and will get it at Liverpool, it could be a very, very good fit.And also, we are taking a bit of a leap into the unknown with Iriola, but I do think he's going to be more clop than slot.And I think he will be somebody that gets them playing a good brand of football.And he's very good at developing players.So I think the outlay could be very good for Liverpool there.So looking good for Liverpool on Barcola.

And I think what's left in the market, that would be a very good deal for them as and when They get it done.Also, Rodri, this has come out in the last hour from Fabrizio Romano that Real Madrid have approached Man City for Rodri for the first time.Negotiations have started with verbal discussions between the clubs.

Perez has given approval to the deal after doors closed for months.Real indicate they are ready to spend 50 million euros.Remember, Rodri only has a year left on his contract.This was a deal that Real Madrid were looking at.pre the presidential elections.I think it was the other option to Perez that wanted to get the deal done.

He also wanted Haaland as well.But that door has been opened up again now by Perez.Look, it could have quite big ramifications on what Man City decide to do to replace Rodri.They'd be left a little bit short in the midfield.I also think that Could that then create movement from Real Madrid into the Premier League?What happens with Enzo Fernandez?

So there's a lot of What's the word?There'll be a lot of follow -on from this.The dominoes will start to fall, I suppose.So it looks like, look, it's going to come down to Rodri, isn't it?I think if Rodri wants to go, Man City don't really have a leg to stand on.He's only got a year left on his contract.

I still do feel he might sign a new contract at Man City, but I don't know why I feel that.I just think it might happen.But logically, it looks like he's probably going to end up at Real Madrid.But we'll have to wait and see what happens with that.

Also, Danny Welbeck to Chelsea was here we go this morning.

Look, I think that it's an interesting way of looking at it because Chelsea desperately do need some experience.I thought the move for Xhaka was really intelligent.I think the move for Jordan Henderson is a bit thick.And I think that Danny Welbeck won is...Look, I would take Danny Welbeck at Man United over nothing.

I would take Danny Welbeck at Man United because I think he offers something that United don't have.For Chelsea, It's interesting.I...I think you look at that deal and you go, I always think Chelsea should have signed Victor Osman.I've been saying it for years.That's the striker you should sign.

But they obviously value Jao Pedro very, very highly as their main guy.They don't rate the lap.So bringing Danny Welbeck in, they have got no European football.It's clearly a deal that's for one year, maybe two.But the premise to this, and it's probably very similar to Spurs, is that you're not playing in Europe.You don't need a huge squad.

you need a squad that can get you back into Europe.And I think Danny Welbeck for one year could be a stroke of genius if he can deliver what he delivered for Brighton last year and pop up with a few goals and you don't need to play twice a week.So look, I'd say I'd lean towards morethan stupidity.I think the Dean, I think the Jordan Henderson one's strange.I mean, I genuinely don't think he's that good anymore.

And you want to drop him in your midfield for Chelsea.But then again, Would you start Jordan Henderson against Liverpool or Man United or Arsenal?No.Will you use him against Brentford and Palace?Probably.And you're not in Europe.

So again, I think these deals are Xabi Alonso bringing experience in to get them over the line this season and get them into the top five.I mean, Chelsea's mission this year is Champions League football.That's all it is.It's the same as what Carrick had for six months.So the proof will be in the pudding, but he definitely wants experience.And I think it's a shame they didn't get Xhaka.

But...They're obviously looking to bring some experience in so you can see why they've done it I just want to talk about this now This will be it's buried at the end of our video.It will be buried like everybody else is burying it But something came out yesterday.That was very very interesting in relation to the International Football Association board ifab they've clarified their guidance and Confirmed that Mbolo for Switzerland should not have been sent off in the World Cup quarterfinal against Argentina now Argentina got to a World Cup final.In that quarter -final against Switzerland at 1 -1, Switzerland had just scored, they were all over them, and Mbolo got sent off.and Switzerland then had to park the bus and eventually Argentina beat them in extra time.

I think there was a very, very high chance that Switzerland were going to knock Argentina out of that World Cup.They had the momentum and then they had Mbolo sent off.So basically, IFAB have confirmed that the rule was not used correctly on Mbolo.Basically, what they're saying is that the mistaken identity rule is currently meant to be applied only when the wrong player has been cautioned.So effectively,what they're saying is that Mbolo, it's not mistaken identity is when they VAR reviews it to say he shouldn't have got a yellow card.

So what should have happened is the Argentinian player should not have got a yellow card.but it shouldn't be used to re -referee the incident and then give Mbolo a yellow card.Now what they have said is they may look at changing that rule for future tournaments because some people agree that, you know, that that's logical.If you give the yellow card to the wrong person, you should then give it to the right person.However, that's not the rule.And what they're saying is that they are going to look at using it after River U for future tournaments.

But in this tournament, it shouldn't have been interpreted like that.So look, Society moves on from things.A headline two weeks ago, oh, this is an outrage, is forgotten in two weeks.This will be forgotten.But ultimately, Argentina got very lucky against Switzerland because that rule was misinterpreted.All that should have happened is the Argentinian player should have had his yellow card rescinded and we play on.

It should not have gone to, I'm taking the yellow card off you, I'm giving it to you and you're sent off.So technically, Switzerland were robbed.They ran the rule incorrectly.How it was run incorrectly, maybe because it was a new rule, but that probably got Argentina to the semi -final and it probably cost Switzerland a semi -final place.So factually, they ran it wrong.There we go.
