Trump Just Trapped Carney With Brutal Reality Check | Poilievre Gets Heated At Press Conference
They didn't even exist anymore. They have been wiped off the electoral map.
President Trump gave some very candid updates on Canada today. And this is a good reminder of the difference between having real power and convincing people that you have power because you talk about it a lot. They are not the same thing.Pierre Polyev has fact -checked the Liberals' frequently used talking point about Canada's economy. It turns out the reason behind those numbers is not good.Prime Minister Carney, though, I will give him credit.
He did something that I agree with.I like his stance on this one. We'll see how it plays out.I'm Jasmine Lane.Like, share, comment your thoughts down below and hype this video if you have any left.Apparently, the plan is this.
We're going to save the economy by making sure it's impossible to save the economy.I think I've pretty much got that right.Right.
What else has Carney been doing? His Davos speech says the U .S.is ruptured. They can't be trusted. They're not the power anymore.
And he also goes on to talk about how Canada should be pairing with China as a strategic partner and with Europe. And maybe Canada should join Europe to work against the U .S.to run the world.Carney is openly running an association, talks, plans and actions to fight against the U .S.
Well, if you wanted attention for it...
I think he's got it.spectrum in that regard, but there is mutual diplomacy there that is important to uphold. One that I would suggest was absolutely defenestrated by the Trudeau government and has been continued by the Carney government, and it's all just a political game. But in the broader topic of defense, relations, what's going on in the world, the games that you play, the consequences that they yield are very, very important. That's why elections matter so much, right? And I mean, presumably, if you are going to be winning an election based on a fear and hatred of another country, I don't think that's the best long term strategy in the slightest, especially when your country is dealing with this.
This naval refueling facility will be critical for Canada's Arctic defence strategy, if it ever gets up and running.
It has been confirmed, this reported by CTV News, that Canada has officially abandoned one of its flagship Arctic military projects after nearly two decades and over 100 million dollars spent.I wish I was joking, but it is largely because the Arctic is cold.and very hard to operate in which is why it was never made a priority despite being announced quite a long time ago.
Arctic security expert Rob Hubert says politicians like to talk about Canada's northern frontier but lack follow -through.
The policy pronouncements tend to be more politically motivated than anything to do with sort of strategic evaluation.
First proposed back in 2007 by Prime Minister Harper as you know a proud symbol of northern sovereignty And Arctic security ambitions is a cautionary tale of bureaucratic delay and environmental defeat.
It's not about capability. It's about political will.
Many northerners welcome the new investments. But Nanacivic remains an unwelcome reminder that when it comes to the Arctic, Ottawa's grand plans don't allowbecome a reality.
Severe permafrost and rare Arctic bacteria definitely proved that Ottawa fundamentally underestimated how difficult it is to build in the Arctic.I mean, the only thing that is kind of a silver lining in this, and we'll have to see because it is also politically motivated, would be Mark Carney and his government have announced that they want to spend $35 billion in Arctic defense expansion. So we'll see if that ever comes to fruition.I won't hold my breath, though, because I mean, prime example, the province of Manitoba, Wab Canoe of all premiers. What about the polar bears in the environment, Wab?I thought you cared about that stuff.
He's been pushing for the expansion of the If things get stalled here, We're going to be spending more time elsewhere in the country because we need to move forward.
We don't want to hear what people are against. We want to hear what they're for.

Get started freeNow, David Eby, premier of British Columbia, has been incredibly critical of Alberta and Mark Carney and their memorandum of understanding. He absolutely does not want a pipeline going through B .C.It's so weird to me how they always cite coastal First Nations as though that's a First Nations band when it's not. It's an activist group. All right.
One thing that I was actually impressed with with Mark Carney is that he specifically said, and this is coming from CBC News, And I quote, if things get stalled here, we're going to be spending more time elsewhere in this space. And it did not end there. My goodness.Take a listen to this cold, hard dose of reality from CTV News on their panel. They were talking about this the other day.
And also the flip side of the coin.It also doesn't mean that support.doesn't exist, including amongst First Nations. In terms of Premier Eby, I honestly think he's behaving like a selfish toddler, and I'll tell you why.In terms of the major projects office, almost one -third of the projects are actually from British Columbia. So he should be happy about that.
And his behavior at this critical time, quite frankly, is the opposite of what every single premier should be doing. And there is already a pipeline that's going from Alberta to British Columbia. What if David Eby was landlocked, a premier of a landlocked promise? What would he want?So there's access to the Pacific, which gives us access to Asia.My conclusion on absolutely everything I've seen from David Eby.
Politically, he's struggling. The conservatives are having a leadership race and they're tied.or slightly in some polls, the Conservatives are ahead. And I'll tell you this, if anybody's looking for a nation builder, please don't call David Eby.
There is also a lot of stuff coming out in the news over the last 48 hours regarding DRIPA and Premier David Eby and what he has done there.Really, really sold his soul, let me tell you.
Homeowners are protected. And quite frankly, it's time for Mark Carney to step up.The Cowichan decision came from a federal lawsuit. It was the federal government, this federal liberal government, that directed its lawyers not to defend property rights in that case.A decision that the judge recognized when she rendered her judgment. So it's time for Mark Carney to stop hiding.
This is a federal issue. He has done absolutely nothing in the nearly one year that has passed since this ruling came down. We're telling him, Mark Carney, if you are serious about defending property rights, then prove it.Change your directives to direct lawyers at a federal level to fight for property rights first.Make a commitment that you won't sign any more agreements that do not explicitly defend property rights. And publish a plan to protect British Columbia homeowners and small businesses from the risk of property loss within 30 days.
It's time for leadership.and conservatives are providing that leadership.
Pierre Polyev had a press conference in Vancouver today and he was asked about this.
I'm just going to bring forward my lawyer here. He's the chair of our property rights task force.Go ahead.
I believe you're referring to the Gitzgali case, which came as quite a surprise out of the Court of Appeal to David Eby when he discovered that the court actually put teeth into the DRIPA legislation.I think that was a big surprise to David Eby.He tried to backpedal from that. And he ran into trouble with his own caucus. So I believe that that decision from the Court of Appeal was wrongly decided.I'm very happy that the Supreme Court of Canada has given leave to hear it.
And I'm sure that many people right across the country are going to be very interested in the outcome of that decision.
And I would just add that Conservatives voted against UNDRIP.We think that it creates a bad legal framework that could potentially risk resource development, home building, and maybe even home ownership. So these bills that Liberals and NDP governments have passednow bringing serious risk to our economy and to our people, and it's time to reverse course.
Honestly, today was just filled with all sorts of fact checks that, oh man, I love them. They literally give me serotonin. It's like, yeah, you go, Glenn Coco. This is one that I'm so happy to hear Pierre Pauliev talk about finally.I've been talking about this on the show forever.I mean, Moose on the Loose has talked about this dozens of times.
Same with the Elevate report. And Pierre Pauliev just fact -checked the Liberals pretty hard.
Canadians see the results also in a weak overall economy.Liberal taxes have driven away investment, jobs, and opportunity. In fact, in the first three months of 2026, venture capital investment in growth -stage companies was zero. Now, the Liberals love to brag about foreign direct investment.Foreign direct investment?According to Statistics Canada, that increase is exactly the result of one thing.
American companies buying out Canadian companies. Not new investment.in new activities, simply taking ownership over Canadian assets, they get the control and the ownership, not investment. For every dollar of foreign investment in Canada coming in, $2 have left. That's the largest capital exodus in Canadian history, and it's on top of the trillion dollars of net investment that has left since Liberals took office.Stats Canada reports that 112 ,000 Canadians have lost their jobs since the beginning of this year.

Get started freeUnemployment is now 6 .9%, a third higher than in the U .S., and the second highest in the G7.No wonder the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcies found that in the first three months of 2026, the number of Canadians needing to reorganize their finances to avoid bankruptcy has gone up by 8%.In fact, it's the highest level since 2008.in the middle of the great global recession.
And no wonder, CMHC says that mortgage delinquencies have reached the highest level since COVID.
But hey, all of that is due to Donald Trump's sectoral tariffs, right?I mean, if it wasn't, why would CTV News still be airing this.
Well turning now to new data released by Statistics Canada indicating that Canadian travel to the US continues to decline.Continues to decline.I can't.Oh, gosh.CTV's Rachel Aiello is following this story for us and joins us now with more.Good to see you, Rachel.
Good morning.Break this down for us.What does the data show about trips south of the border?
So sorry, but I'm actually going to be filling in for Rachel Aiello. No shade towards her or the other host here. They are reading from teleprompters after all.But I'm going to be the swing announcer.Just give me a second.I have to get my news voice ready.
I haven't done this in a while.Yes, good morning, Renee.Nice to see you.Well, it turns out Canada's massive travel boycott against the United States has officially hit its 14th consecutive month of decline, dropping another 7 % according to recent Statistics Canada numbers. But it turns out that border wall is strictly generational. Here's the data.
travel to the United States in the double digits. It's true.Older Canadians are staying home.Only 14 % of boomers are expected to visit the United States this year, dropping to a measly 8 % prediction for 2027.Though in stark contrast and completely predictable fashion, Gen Z and millennials are traveling to the U .S.
at whopping speeds with 61 % of Gen Z and 48 % of millennialsplanning trips south this year. Now,
Now, with Kuzma trade renegotiations expected to formally begin as we enter summer, Rachel, how are those tensions between Canada and the U .S.impacting travel south of the border?
Well, Renee, if you were listening at all to the data I previously shared, you would know that most Canadians simply don't really care at all.But there is some good news here.which is the fact that our great Canadian PSYOP worked brilliantly.Evidence would suggest that it only worked on the elderly.Nonetheless, we have successfully latched ourselves onto our boomers like emotional demons, using annexation headlines to make them hate everyone except for Ottawa. The boomers are safely trapped at home, protecting the government and spending their pensions locally.
Canada strong, everyone.Meanwhile, their grandkids are currently in Florida, eating the fruit of the forbidden American loom, completely immune to our psychological warfare.Better luck next time, Ottawa. We'll keep trying.Back to you, Rene.
The ability to raise a family, live in security, and retire with peace of mind, all with a flag on the front porch representing our pride in our beautiful, affordable, safe, and strong future. That promise is broken after 11 years of Liberal government. The cost of homes, food, and fuel are all skyrocketing.Crime is out of control.Immigration is broken. And our economy is weak, shrinking, and overly dependent on the U .
S.Now, Mark Carney promised that he would reverse everything that he had said and that his party had done in the preceding 10 years when he ran in the last election. But we're now in the second year of Mark Carney Liberals, and we see that all of these promises were an illusion.Nothing has changed.Everything is worse.More costs, more crime, more corruption.
Mark Carney is just that.liberal.
There's two comments that I came across today that just really struck me.One of them coming from Sarah Fisher, who says, And if you didn't get a chance to watch yesterday's episode, I highly encourage you do that because we went through an old clip of Mark Carney that only has on its original source 50 ,000 or so views, which makes me think there's a good chance the vast majority of Canadians have never seen it, but it is incredibly telling and I think proves a lot what Sarah is getting at there. And yesterday Mark Carney was speaking in Vancouver and he had listed out all of the absolutes non -negotiables for a maybe pipeline one day.And it goes to show again just that exploitation, that force, those mandates that nobody is asking for that hurt us.Everything tells us that they hurt us, but nobody talks about it en masse. And if you do, then they call you names and they try to discredit you.
And it's just.Anyway, Eric Nuttall had also said, if the cost of a new pipeline is Pathways, a $30 billion project conceived in a vastly different world that erodes our competitiveness, then I say nay.It took me four hours to get my six -year -old an ankle x -ray last night. We do not have to live like this, yet choose to.
Look, we've been ripped off for years, and we're not going to be ripped off anymore. No, I'm not going to bend at all aluminum or steel or cars. We're not going to bend. We've been ripped off as a country for many, many years. We've been subjected to costs that we shouldn't be subjected to.In the case of Canada, we're spending $200 billion a year to subsidize Canada.

Get started freeI love Canada.I love the people of Canada.I love β I have many friends in Canada. The great one, Wayne Gretzky, the great β how good is Wayne Gretzky? He's the great one.But we have β I know many people from Canada that are good friends of mine.
You know, the United States can't subsidize a country for $200 billion a year.We don't need their cars.We don't need their energy. We don't need their lumber. We don't need anything that they give.We do it because we want to be helpful, but...
This is a part of the reality that gets really uncomfortable for a lot of Canadians, because it's a reality that we have avoided thinking about for decades, so much so that we don't even believe that it's true.even when the writing is on the walls. We as a country in Canada have had the luxury of pursuing increasingly ideological, post -national, heavily regulatory economic policies that benefited those in charge more than they did those on the ground, largely because we existed beside the most powerful and stable economy on earth.
It comes a point when you just can't do that. You have to run your own country. And to be honest with you, Canada only works as a state. We don't need anything they have.As a state, it would be one of the great states anyway. This would be the most incredible country visually.
If you look at a map, they drew an artificial line right through it between Canada and the U .S., just a straight artificial line.Somebody did it a long time ago, many, many decades ago, and it makes no sense. It's so perfect as a great country.and cherished state.
Keeping O Canada, the national anthem.I love it.I think it's great.Keep it.But it'll be for the state, one of our greatest states.Maybe our greatest state.
But why should we subsidize another country for $200 billion?Of course, it's $200 billion a year. And again, we don't need their lumber. We don't need their energy. We have more than they do.We don't need anything.
We don't need the cars.I'd much rather make the cars here. And there's not a thing that we need. Now, there'll be a little disruption, but it won't be very long. But they need us.We really don't need them.
And we have to do this.I'm sorry. We have to do this.Yes.
Take a look at our economy since the Liberals regained power in 2015.Do you seriously think with these numbers that Canada could have gotten away with everything harmful to our nation and our society, all of these ideological radical initiatives and goals that are totally based in fantasy if it were not for the United States of America and the fact that they are our neighbor, our largest trading partner.Canada, by being in close vicinity, was able to benefit from that. There are countries who do trade with us at measly comparisons to what that of the United States is, that do trade here, not really because they care about the Canadian market, it's tiny, but because it's closer access to the American market. That's why. That's our advantage.
And that's not to say that we don't have anything to offer.Of course we do.But that's the problem, though, is that Canada spent the last decade, thanks to the stability provided to us by the American economy and the relationship that we have that predates variouspoliticians and it's going to post date them too.So that is why Canada was able to under this far left technocratic neoliberal government.virtue -signaling government.
That's why we were able to prioritize a decade of ESG frameworks, symbolic virtue -signaling climate leadership, to add on more regulations, more taxes, so that the government could keep spending all of this money and have these identity politics, managed decline, to shut down our industries so that they could look cool on the global stage, because none of that was for Canadian prosperity or sovereignty.Quite the opposite. That is all a personal project there.Mark Carney's resume proves that.We were able to underinvest in wealth -generating, nation -building, unity -driven things like productivity, infrastructure.energy independence, military readiness, industrial competitiveness, manufacturing, all of this stuff, because the US was a little bit of a blinder there.
Because at least we still have that trading partner. And when the cracks started to show of this failed ideology, this failed philosophy, what did we do?Well, we increased immigration so that Canadians would never have an idea.Well, look at how great these numbers are. It's just a lie and it's really crazy to me.If there's any point that you could take away from this, it is how dangerous it is that Canada's governing model under this government has become focused on managing perceptions, symbolism,
moral positioning, anything at all to mask the truth that's underneath all of it.And like, it is so infuriating. When people will say, oh, well, Pierre Paglieff, he voted against the national school food program. We live in Canada. If our economy is as good as you say, why the hell do we need the state to feed our children lunches? What are you saying right now?
That's a win for you?Hey, congrats, Canada. You guys are so broke that we're going to spend more of your money making you even more broke.but your kid's gonna get a chewy bar on us.I know, we're the best. Are you kidding me right now?
We have the highest ever foreign direct investment of foreign companies buying your Canadian ones because they can't operate here anymore and are closing or moving to another country where they can actually survive and thrive. That's a brag? That is so embarrassing that that's a brag. That is so embarrassing that people actually believe that. And it's just the dangerous mismatch. It's so unbelievable here.
Because then you have Donald Trump who says, we're not going to put up with that anymore.Whether it's right, wrong or indifferent doesn't matter because he's the American president and America is our largest trading partner. And we're very close to them. We're friends with them.We used to be, I thought.I still am.
I don't know about you.But now, Canada's in a situation where we are entirely exposed. And that has nothing to do with the Trump administration. In fact, I would say effectively, thank you.Because maybe, maybe, we will pull ourselves out of this hole now.
