Trump ROCKED As Devastating Canada Data Revealed In Boycott Consequences

Donald Trump's continuing efforts to bully Canada into utter economic and maybe even military subservience have failed so bad that he's coming out now attacking his very own trade deal.Take a look.

So the USMCA, are you looking to update that?I don't care.I mean, I don't really want to.I'd rather be independent.Here's the thing.Mexico and Canada need us.

We don't need them.

Yeah, so he's going to keep saying that, and it doesn't matter how much evidence there is to the contrary, which we've presented in our long, ongoing series of videos about this topic.And we'll present more in this video as well.So okay, your strategy is that they need us more than we need them.Tell that to the American businesses that used to be able to sell those products in Canada and Mexico and can't now.I don't know if they would like your messaging there.But the bigger issue is when he's told, hey, the USMCA, what's going to happen with that?

He's like, I don't want it, I want to be independent.But dear viewer, I don't expect that you would necessarily know this.You don't need to track trade policy and trade deals across the years.But what you should know now is that's his deal.He took the previous deal, so they had NAFTA, which did have problems, but also had been there for a long time.And he said, no, that's dumb.

That is stupid.We were taken advantage of, so now we need something that a smart guy is gonna negotiate.So he gets the USMCA.He signs it cuz he's a genius with a huge brain.But now Canada is still abusing us under his deal, which he no longer takes credit for.Because there constantly has to be something that he can outwit, even if it's literally himself from earlier years.

And so he's threatening Canada over that deal.But I wanna look at the base economic facts here.Who's actually being hurt by this ongoing war?Well, new data on the ongoing Canadian boycott of a number of American goods as well as coming into our country.It doesn't seem to be treating us very well.So there is, you could go Yahoo Life, compile the list of Canadian brands to support the grocery stores, Canada's trade war with the US intensified.

It intensified after the additional 50 % tariff that Donald Trump put on a couple of weeks ago.Of course, this followed earlier rounds, multiple rounds of tariffs.But according to Canadian public opinion, more than 6 in 10 there suggested or sorry, supported retaliatory tariffs of some kind.34 % said they wanted the exact same level of tariffs that we've put on them, dollar for dollar matched.28 % support limited counter tariffs.So that's the majority saying, well, if they're gonna do it to us, we should do it to them.

And these are multiple simultaneous ways that Canadians can hit us back.So they can have the actual tariffs, which have the same effect with the Canadians put on us when we put them on, the effect we have on our trade with other countries.But then you also just have their own choice.They have been avoiding buying certain sorts of products.And in particular, they've avoided coming and then buying goods and services here, which is a major source of revenue of tourism.And it should be, I mean, it's one of our closest neighbors, obviously.

But as of last year, Traveled by Canadians to the US fell 25 % according to Canadian government data.And in 2025, they made 29 .1 million trips to the US.That's down from 39 million just one year before.Travel spending declined by $2 .3 billion while climbing $2 .5 billion overseas.So not only did that money, which would have normally come into our economy, benefit all these local businesses and all that.Not only did we lose that, But evidently, they're down to travel, they're down to pay more even.

So theoretically, it's even more money next year.And the year after that,And so instead of coming here, they went to Europe, they went to Asia.They were literally willing to fly if that's what it took because of the way that Donald Trump has treated them.And I can't say that they're being irrational because I don't think that they are.Anyway, in terms of the total cost that this effect is having, $4 .5 billion is how much the US economy lost last year due to that drop in Canadian visitation.

In early 2025, the US Travel Association warned that even a 10 % reduction in the inbound travel from Canada could translate to $2 .1 billion, and also 140 ,000 lost jobs in the hospitality sector.And look, it's more than enough to just focus on the first order consequences of Donald Trump's war of tariffs and rhetoric and all of that.But bear in mind, if you've lost your job as a result of us not having that trade, then you too are not contributing to the economy.So there are second and third order effects as well.None of this, and I can't stress this enough, none of this needs to be happening.We could be doing all of the dumb stuff we're doing in Iran, all the dumb stuff we're doing vis -a -vis Gaza and Ukraine, but not needlessly sticking our thumb every day or two in the eye of our Canadian neighbors.

Trump is just choosing to do that.He is choosing to make a difficult situation much, much worse.
