Update from Ukraine | Finally! Worst Day for Russia! A Major Ukrainian Army Reform!

Hello, my friends.So yesterday it was the worst day for Russia in this war.I am not over -exaggerating.No, not the downing of the Moskva flagship, not the Kursk operation, not the Ukrainian counteroffensive back in 2022.Yesterday it was the most important day for Ukrainian army and for Russia.the worst day for Russia despite it being a Russian day officially it's been celebrated in Russia as the day of Russia but Ukraine decided to introduce a complex army reform we were all waiting for it for such a long time and yesterday it was done it is starting to operate well I guess you have already seen the major changes in Ukrainian army for the last half a year and defense minister Fedorov took his position he is changing the situation in the favor of Ukrainian army in favor of Ukraine in general on the front lines and behind the front lines by introducing the new drone technologies new systems this new approach which is not possible without the major reforms in Ukrainian army yes kind of the painful reforms for some of the soviet made dinosaur commanders which are still there in Ukrainian army But they have either to adapt or they will leave.

They will not have the chance because everything will be improved and digitalized, minimizing the incompetence and corruption within every sort of the system.And this war's day for Russia, it means that there is no turning back in those reforms, that Russia will be constantly outdated.And the war is about implementing those new technologies, maintaining supply lines, connections, communications.Russia is in lack of everything of that.That's why we are telling and we are seeing that the situation in this war is changing in Ukrainian favor.Not yet changed, but changing.

Dramatically, rapidly.And the reform, complex one, plays the key role here.And let me put your attention to details and aspects of the reformsseveral points which will be or are already being implemented in Ukraine.

So the first one is the higher salaries.

Pay rises for frontline troops and commanders and not just them also people who operate behind the front lines like deliveries, I know people maintaining Ukrainian bases, IT specialists, everyone will have their rights.But most of all, yes, those who operate on the front lines and commanders.So the infantry average pay will be 300 ,000 hryvnias.That's a lot compared to what there is right now.It is at least three times more.And it is equal to $6 ,700 per month.

Yeah you may say not a huge seller but as for Ukraine those are big money and this is one more factor to motivate people to join Ukrainian army.Yes the war in Ukraine is existential one but we all live in this material world where everything is purchased by money so it's one more motivation factor for Ukrainian soldiers and it's also the stability of their families.so they may rely more on the government support.So maximum payment up to 460 ,000 hryvnias per month, that's more than $10 ,000 for the Ukrainian soldiers.I guess those are operating at the very front.The rear area minimum pay rises to 300 ,000 hryvnias, which is okay.

Yeah, for those money, you may, let's say, survive in Ukraine, and this is the minimum salary.And here we are speaking about the service members who are not taking part in the actual combat and located very very far away.Yes, they serve in the Ukrainian military, but they do civilian kind of activity.

They're not firing artillery, flying drones, fighting with Kalashnikov, no, those are rare.What is also interesting that soldiers may get extra combat bonuses.so increasement of the salary which is already granted depends on the type of the mission.And lastly, commanders will receive their payment increase gradually, at least by 2 of the times and that motivates them as well.Commanders are very important.Well Ukrainian army in general has competent commanders but as I mentioned you at the very beginning of the video there are still some of the Soviet commanders from the Soviet school and sometimes they also mentor the younger generation of commanders who are not that competent but they will suffer in those reforms they will not keep their position.

Well there are still some crazy people around.But later on I'm going to tell how to minimize this human factor from incompetent people.And again, compared to the Russian army, Ukrainian one is very capable.

Alright the next one is the updated contract terms.It is very important for any sort of the army because people who are fighting who are in any sort of the army for a very long time and in Ukraine it's like that for many soldiers for several years they're in Ukrainian army and they have some of the short paid leave and some of the vacations but it's not enough to restore their morale.So mentally and physically it's very hard for them to maintain the spirit so the motivation is rising.It happens not just in this war, but in any sort of the confrontation.

And soldiers, or basically people, they ask themselves, do I really need it?This is very important to have some of the limited term of service in the army.For every human being it's logical.So new terms, the infantry assault contract, 10 or 14 months, depends on the background.With the military background it's 10 months, with civilian background 14.So one year in service and two months for training.

Well sometimes it's one and a half months, depends.But it's just the infantry assault contract, so the very front operation, the storming positions, yeah.even survival for that time is under the big question because we know that there are the losses and Russia is using drones even though in Ukrainian army losses are lower than in the Russian one but they're still happening so less than a year or a little bit more than a year it's those are the terms for the very active combat missions and But for the combat contracts it means like the drone operator or supply delivery to the front lines 24 months or 2 years.And basic contract with the army 24 months as well.So with those terms at least people may calculate when their service ends.well still Ukrainian soldiers might be taken again to Ukrainian army even after their contract is over that would be a mobilization but from what I understood Ukraine tries to avoid that and to basically put new people so minimum deferment period after service is six months combat time increases the deferment period so for the soldiers who are in combat missions I guess also for the drone operators this could be increased example 10 months served including 4 in combat equals 18 months deferment and time already served counts under the new terms longer serving troops to be gradually discharged by year end So the general goal is to create a clearer path to rotation and recovery.

Well, so it's not like discharge forever.It's a big gap in the military operation and it allows the Ukrainian soldiers to restore themselves.

As we know, there is the big problem in both of the armies, Ukrainian and Russian ones, with the infantry, with a number of the forces.So Ukraine tries to improve conditions to attract more troops.people, plus to make the contract terms for the current soldiers who serve more loyal and acceptable.Alright the next thing is called mission control.This is what makes everything works as it should be.Basically the digital coordination system.

So it's the new monitoring system for frontline units launched for assault and infantry troops basically You have the information, the general database, where commander may understand the location of every soldier on the frontlines, what he or she is doing in particular behind the frontlines, logistics, so it involves geolocation and procedures for every infantryman operating live.

Yeah, I don't like this analogy because the war is not a game, but the interface looks like some sort of the strategy game.

yeah like the video game you have all the positions all of the units they're moving and the commander takes the responsibility of how to operate with them and the monitoring is happening live thanks to this mission control system so it confirms the presence of positions helps guarantee correct payments also because Soldiers, if they're on the front lines, it is visible.So the system is digital.You cannot tell that a particular guy was not in a particular trench.No, you have the evidence in the system.And soldiers also have the access to it on their level, of course, but they may prove that they were serving at a particular position, so they may obtain the benefits from the Ukrainian army.Also, this is very important, mission control helps to find wounded soldiers faster.

because you know the location.It's great.And improves oversight on the frontline.By the way, there is the extra payment for those soldiers who evacuate their wounded colleagues also.They are calculated as the combat missions.So the goal is to improve tracking, safety and payment accuracy and also I would add statistics.

Yeah, statistics is sometimes very important to count your troops.

and of course enemy losses that's why in general i trust ukrainian statistics more because partially mission control system is already working yeah from yesterday it is already working and it will become better and better russians don't have those kind of the tools they are absent and from what i understood they're not developing any at the army level some of the brigades they might do their own mission control But it is not done with AI or some of the sophisticated tech tools.So Ukraine, of course, has an upper hand here.All right, the next one is the recruitment of foreigners.

And there are already lots of the foreigners in Ukrainian army.Mostly they're coming from Latin America.But yes, not only from Latin America, but from Colombia.There are lots of the Spanish speakers who are coming.to join Ukrainian army so idea is to boost that number and at the government level to present this integration program of how mercenaries may go and yeah for the financial benefits but to serve in Ukrainian army and they would be capable to choose what brigade what unit regiment they want to join so it opens broader pool of volunteers for service and foreign volunteers can be recruited for service in Ukraine.

Well it is happening right now already but at brigade, army, corps or something like that level.Now Ukraine wants to centralize everything of that and foreigners will have more benefits.There will be also private recruiting companies which handle recruitment and transfer.That's how Russia by the way operates.They Hire private companies.Well, they brainwash people saying that they will go to the rear, they will not serve with Kalashnikovs, but no, it is happening for them differently.

Ukraine has different terms for foreigners.

Of course, it will not be mid -waves or infiltration attacks.No, in Ukrainian army it's not like that.The measure is aimed at striking.manpower.So yes, Ukraine has the lack of the infantry.That's why military command is looking for people also with experience in Latin America, for example, in some of the Asian countries, even in Africa and all around the globe basically.

It is intended to reduce the pressure on Ukrainian troops?Well, just by maximizing foreigners, you use less Ukrainians, it's automatically happening.So they all do the same tasks.Ukrainian and foreigner.They serve in the same army.

Maybe foreigners will have even more benefits, because for Ukrainians it's very important to propose something, yeah?Some more financial support, something like that.Part of the border push to a professionalized service.Yes, yes, with some of the foreign experience, like everyone introduces something from the previous military experience or some own experience.So Ukrainian army may grow with more foreigners in the army.

It's great.And it's not mentioned here, but yeah, it's possible for foreigners to obtain Ukrainian passport with some time.They're also working on that.Yeah obviously if they need it because this war as any other is not forever.My personal opinion that it will fade away with Putin.Putin is not a young guy so there's the visible end of the war and they might have some people may have passports of the country which is the candidate to join the European Union in some future perspective.

Okay this one is very important.So transfer between units.Some people They go into specific units not because of their will.It was like that before the reform.So they wanted to change their units, brigades, but it was not possible.It was done at the private level, if you have some of the fellas there, some of the friends in command, you may talk, okay.

So this will be cancelled.because it led to so -called a wall so people left their military branches military bases They didn't want to fight in those brigades, they want to fight in other brigades, especially if they have some of the experience in one sphere and they were thrown to the other sphere.

I personally know a guy who was sent to the trenches with his commercial pilot experience, well now he is a first officer on Antonov 26.so it's great for him and he works like flies behind the front lines which is also I think more safer for him personally so the background was not calculated counted even before but now it's not gonna be like that and if people want to change one army unit to another A process will be more automated.

Transfers will be done via ArmyPlus application on the smartphone.Basically, you go, you apply for the transfer to what unit, what is the reason for you to go there, and it is looked through automatically.The system gives you yes or no.

Automatic transfer process within 30 days or one month for review.available once a year.Monthly caps 50 from brigade, regiment or 10 from separate battalion.So there are some of the limits still per month.Why is it done just not to disable brigade completely if all the soldiers massively would like some other brigade they might demolish their own brigade.

And the system will also get this inside look on what is happening in particular regiment or brigade For example, the higher command might say, okay, why those guys are going out from this brigade so massively?

Why do they always hit this monthly limit for the transfer?What is happening with the commander of that brigade?Is he really competent or not?We need to check him out.So this approach is, it's something outstanding.And after successful transfer, there is six months no transfer period.

So you cannot change it.very often, but six months, I think it's already kind of often.Well, this is the good tool to avoid a war.So voluntarily leave of the military bases, because it was a huge problem for Ukraine.

And that is what Russian propaganda tried to tell like 200 ,000 soldiers left their bases.They left because they wanted to change brigades or regiments.That was actually the main reason for them to leave, because after you leave, okay, they're more loyal to you, this system, and if you want to go to some of the brigade, okay, just go and serve in Ukrainian army, we need people, if you like that brigade, go there.So for Ukrainians, it's better not to jail those people or something, but to get them working, serving, sorry, in Ukrainian army once again.

So the goal here is to reduce bureaucracy and manage movement fairly.The more digital systems you have, the less opportunities there are for corruption or some of the unfairness in looking through every sort of the application.this is outstanding guys it might look okay what is here transfers but this is the main topic why ukrainian soldiers are not willing to serve why morale was dropping sometimes yeah on the front lines it resolves basically everything if it works okay and the chances for it to work okay is pretty much high with a new defense minister.My only concern is Sirsky because as for me he is one of those soviet commanders he studied in Moscow Russia he's Russian himself but he is Ukrainian citizen so he is the general commander of Ukrainian army and I think that sometimes his approach it's um it's very old.Well, it's just my opinion and who am I?Just a guy with a microphone, yeah, who speaks about the war for more than four years.

All right, and next we have effectiveness assessment.So it's the new way to evaluate the effectiveness of your work.sort of the brigade.It is also being digitalized.A new brigade assessment system is being introduced.It uses more than 160 indicators to judge the performance of brigade.

It scales the best practices from successful brigades.It measures frontline performance more systematically.thanks to mission control system.

The goal is to prevent mistakes that cost lives, spread what works and reduce deadly errors.This is the great thing actually and honestly I think partially it's already working because we see less and less mistakes done by some particular commanders as it was for example in 2025 even the last year I was complaining a lot about multiple of the Ukrainian commanders but now there are less and less errors I think that the last one I reviewed happened roughly two months ago there was the limited Ukrainian counter -offensive in Pokrovsk near Grishino village where Ukrainian forces were unfortunately ambushed by Russian drones That was definitely a failure in attack.So this system is done to evaluate like why it happened, what forced the commander to make this decision that led to those circumstances very terrible for the soldiers.And it is similar to what I experienced in my commercial aviation career where every sort of the aviation incident, serious incident was investigated by the airline itself and by aviation authorities like commission, why, what happened, let's evaluate.The goal is not to punish but to avoid the same practice to happen in the future, similar negative practice.And the return for those people who voluntarily left the military bases, so -called a wall, a limited time path back to service, limited time without punishment.

A return window opens for those who left their unit.

And what is important, the service member chooses a unit.So it's his will, I left, okay, I didn't like this commander, and he is a butcher or something like that, or he didn't like me, I didn't like him, he wanted to, you know, personally revenge on something.Everything could happen, like people are everywhere.If you work with people, you understand that people are different.In army, it's like that as well.It's the slice of the general human society where 2 % of the people will be complete idiots, degenerates, and sometimes sadly they're at some of the command positions.

So the service member chooses a commander.Yeah, commanders are commanding the unit, so service member, it's up to him or her if on a vote to return back and on own conditions without any punishment, but there is just a window, yeah, as they say, a window for those opportunities.The return path is simplified, so less bureaucracy, the opportunity is limited in time.The goal is to encourage voluntary return through a simpler process.That is the game changer.

So yes, I was talking about army reforms, not just me, but lots of the volunteers, lots of the influencers, pro -Ukrainian ones, and finally we have it.Well, there will be the second stage.this summer it will touch mobilization so Ukraine tries to avoid this forced mobilization then people are being grabbed from the streets no it's gonna be in a different way and hopefully Ukraine will do it more like more effective and also at the same time more human but the general idea is to make the conditions for service in Ukrainian army profitable for people and that is how it could be attractive for people to join Ukrainian army especially right now that for example Russia demolishes Ukrainian economy Ukrainian enterprises Ukrainian businesses even so it's the motivation for Ukrainians to go and join the army to makebenefits and to serve for the people out there.

So like the variant.That's why the salary has been increased.It's not yet like in Russia, crazy salaries like $50 ,000 sometimes if you sign the contract with the Russian army.

but Russia also they have shadow schemes they try not to pay those money sometimes plus the main thing that we know how long Russians live at the front lines so for Ukrainian soldier there is there is I think better picture now and also for the foreigners who would like to join Ukrainian army and Ukraine counts as I probably mentioned or not 50 % of the service members could be foreigners if again this system works brilliantly and i have the hope for it of course and what makes it possible is the investment of european countries to ukraine to ukrainian army with this loan or credit of 90 billion euros for ukraine ukraine managed to rise the salaries for the soldiers that's the new level new motivation and also hire foreigners also introducing those new systems developing drones so ukraine relies more on local production than on outside support if we speak about long -range strikes if we speak about drone army of course yeah in artillery aviation vehicles ukraine still relies on actual military production from rain metal from the united states of america like from lots of the allied countries let's say sweden helps a lot and we see that europe in general it understands that ukraine is its shield so it agreed on 90 billion military support but more is needed and there are the rumors that maybe 20 billion euros will be additionally spent for Ukraine to boost its army capabilities.Yeah fantastic day was yesterday and we'll see how those reforms might work in the future butnow very very positive and we see those changes already even without those reforms being fully introduced as they are right now yeah they're in the process of introduction but we see the result and Russians are in a very very terrible state they don't understand actually what is happening they're military bloggers they're panicking and especially those who speak about supply lines yeah it's a madness for them and Ukraine will boost those effective strikes on Russia and operation on the front lines so Ukraine has the chance to basically halt Russian army all across the front lines in a year let's say and for Putin it would not be profitable to continue the war because physically Ukraine might stop them with a new approach and new technologies.So guys it was A very detailed look on the reform.I don't know if you like those kind of videos without military maps, but for me it was important to tell you that sometimes the main events are hidden.buried by bureaucracy and some of the changes that are happening actually not by kabooming those ships or something but they're happening in cabinets but they're very decisive very decisive for entire system and how Ukrainian army might perform on the ground in the future.
