U.S. tourist believed dead after waterfall jump near Banff

RCMP say an American tourist who jumped into a rapidly moving waterfall in Banff National Park is likely dead.

A gentleman crossed some barriers and entered the pools and he's believed to have entered on a couple of occasions.On the third occasion he jumped from a height.and briefly surfaced but appeared to be in some difficulty and returned under the surface.

The Mounties say efforts to recover the 25 -year -old man's body from the water at Johnson Canyon continued on Sunday.The waterfall's currents are strong due to spring melt.Police say the man was visiting Alberta with friends from Pennsylvania.
