VINI JR TO ARSENAL!

Welcome to that football.I'm Mark Goldbridge with the latest football transfer news back in the studio after a lovely few days on holiday.Reacting to this incredible news that Arsenal might be signing Vinicius Jr.Ambition at a completely different level.I think this will be one of the biggest signings in Premier League history, by the way.Stunning, incredible, absolutely fantastic.

We'll talk about that.Also, Bruno Guimaraes, hot on the heels.Maybe a little bit later in the window, but if you're Arsenal, you are the champions of England.You did get to a Champions League final.As long as the quality's right, Does it matter if you do it later in the window, especially with the World Cup?Also Liverpool, Barcola, what's happening with him?

However, let's start off with David Ornstein saying that Arsenal are exploring a move to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid.Arsenal's interest is it's an early stage clubs not yet talks, but idea approved at all levels.Much will rest on the contract process as no breakthrough yet with Real Madrid.

They do not want a free exit either.I think his contract is up in a year's time.So look, I think Arsenal in the past have tried for players that and it doesn't necessarily happen.They were obviously interested in Morgan Rodgers.If you think about the last couple of years, they've looked at players that they ultimately haven't got.

So sometimes Arsenal's ambition is very, very high and it doesn't necessarily happen.And maybe Vinicius Junior doesn't happen.But first and foremost, what do I think this signing would mean for Arsenal in the Premier League?I mean, Arsenal are already a very good team.If you put Vinicius Junior on the left wing, I think Trozad's done decent, Martinelli puts a shift in, but you are suddenly putting one of the world's best players on a left wing, which is one of the few areas in Arsenal that you can actually improve it and take the team to the next level.

to another level.So I think it would be an incredible signing.

I think he's a brilliant, brilliant, brilliant player.I think since Mbappe signed for Madrid, it's had an impact on his output.much the same as Mbappé, Neymar and Messi had an impact on each other in a bad way.It doesn't mean that Mbappé is a problem or Vinicius Juniors is a problem.I just think sometimes teams don't need that many superstars in it.

And I think with Arsenal, the set -up at Arsenal would be perfect.Their strikers are not superstars, they're workers, whether it's Havertz or Llores.Saka's on the other side, the midfield is very hard -working.I think he would thrive in the Premier League and I think he would thrive at Arsenal.I'm no Arsenal fan, but I think about you know, these are the sort of deals that United used to try and do when we were winning the league.I remember us trying to get Ronaldinho and he chose, I think he chose Barcelona, didn't he, after PSG instead of us.

We got very, very close.So you've got, you know, I'm not going to criticise Arsenal for trying.

I'm not saying it will happen, but if David Ornstein says they're looking at it, it does remind me a lot of Ronaldinho, actually.United were winning league titles.We went for Ronaldinho.He chose Barcelona over us.

But we tried, and I think Arsenal are right to try for Vinicius Junior.The thing about this is I spoke about it on the United stand about a week ago, so I sort of know what's happening.This is about the contract for Vinny.I think he's looking to, you know, He's got a figure in mind that he wants for a contract.Let's say that's like, I don't know, wages of 20 million a year, whatever.If Real Madrid don't put that on the table and another club does, then I think he starts to look at it.

I don't know whether that's realistic for Arsenal to do it, but I think that's what it comes down to.I think if Real Madrid match Arsenal he probably stays at Real Madrid and I don't think Mourinho wants him to go and I mean I know they are looking at Diamonde which makes you feel that that could be a change but remember Diamonde probably operates better off the right -hand side anyway, so it doesn't necessarily I don't think Diamonde to Real Madrid necessarily means that they sell a Vinny but I just think it's so interesting that That it's David Ornstein sort of saying look they're looking at a deal.They're not advanced yet and but it's a deal they're looking to do, which would be signing of the summer in the Premier League for Arsenal.And there's been some big signings.So, look, let's keep an eye on that.But they are apparently still interested in Alvarez.

They won't, I don't think, sign both.

But the thing is, Arsenal can afford it.Arsenal are, like Man City, sustainably guaranteed Champions League football every year and have had it for the last three.

So they're making a huge, huge amount of money.at United, sorry, at Arsenal.And that means that you can go and spend big money each year.So look, very, very excited to see how that plays out.I mean, I'd love him to be signing for Man United, but this is that football.If I could see Vinicius Junior playing in the Premier League next season, I'm excited about that.

So let's see how it develops.Also, Fabrizio Romano, just on Arsenal very quickly this morning, talking about Bruno Guimaraes, this is a deal that Arsenal want, Arteta wants.I think this is a very, very...

I think when teams win the league, like Arsenal, and you look at...I always look at what they're going to do afterwards.And when Liverpool won the league last summer, I thought, really good window.But you look at the players they bought, Isak got injured, Ekotike potential, Verts never played in the league before, Frimpong never played in the league before.They were good signings, but there was a lot that needed to go right for Liverpool for it to work.I think from Arsenal's perspective, if they get Bruno Guimares, he's Premier League proven and he's one of the best midfielders in Europe.

So you bring him into Arsenal, there's no issue unless he gets injured.If you buy Vinicius Junior or Alvarez, Yeah, you know, again, they're a different quality of player to an Isaac or or a verse, in my opinion.So I always look at the summer transfer window of the champions.And I think if Arsenal can bring in players of the quality of Alvarez or Vinicius Junior and Bruno Guimaraes, I think these are very, very high level signings for Arsenal.So watch this space, but scary what they could do.And also Arsenal do need to do that.

I think their first Premier League title in years.They're going to be tired mentally.A lot of these players are going to be tired from the World Cup.So bringing a couple of players in that are mentally focused on a new challenge and high quality players was something to prove is clever from Arsenal.And Arsenal do transfer windows.They don't sit back and do let's not spend money.

So, yeah, definitely keep an eye on that.

Liverpool look I think in relation to Liverpool Iriola probably isn't getting the summer that he he would want and Diamonde I think was a player that they really really did want I think in relation to Barcola It's it's an interesting one I think that's the player that they're looking to go for but I It feels like there's gonna be competition for him There's been mention of buying Munich if a lease a goes that they would go for Barcola and that makes sense I think with regards to the strut the winger position and I suppose Vinicius jr.

Is involved in this as well with Real MadridReal Madrid now want Diamonde.PSG want Diamonde.Real Madrid want Alise.And if that happens, Bayern Munich have got a lot of money to spend and Liverpool just need a Salah replacement.And they're probably looking at Alise, Vinicius Junior, Diamonde and Barcola and saying Liverpool should be getting one of those.

But can they infiltrate that market?I don't know.I think Liverpool need an Alise or a Vinicius Junior or a Diamonde or a Barcola.Can they get one of those?Well, they won't get a Vinicius Junior and they won't get a Lice and it doesn't look like they can get Diamonde.So Diamonde to PSG and Barcola to Liverpool is still the logical thing, but it is moving probably slower than Liverpool want it to.

And Liverpool do need to do a lot for Areola.So let's keep an eye on that.I would still think that Barcola is Liverpool's solution.Because some of the names I've seen, like Minte at Brighton, there's a lot of work to be done.Look, Iriola is a brilliant coach and he's a brilliant developer of players.So I wouldn't rule out a left field right winger who's maybe not as glamorous.

But you want to give Iriola the best opportunity to succeed, certainly.

The other one I wanted to talk about was Rodrigo Mancitti.Only got a year left on his contract as well.

Clearly, I think he's about ready to go.This happens a lot with Man City players, you know, because it's such a mercenary club in the sense that I think people like playing there and earning money.But I don't think that there's this desire to necessarily stay there forever.Bernardo Silva's been looking to get out for years, hasn't he?And I think Rodri is looking to go back to Spain.And you can respect that.

And look, Man City have bought some really good players.Gehy, Semenyu,Anderson and they'll buy again there's no doubt about it but I think Rodri is looking to go and it might be the time for Man City to move on you can see why Maresco would want to keep him but I think it I think it might be the time that he moves on and be interesting to see what Man City do in the next few weeks because there's a lot of clubs out there who I think they're about to get very busy.I think the World Cup and the week after the World Cup was always going to be a bit of an assessment period.It feels like from next week, we're going to be busy on here.But I think there's going to be a lot of stuff going on.
