Moving ahead, we've got reports here that proponents are coming forward to build a pipeline or partially fund a pipeline.

Well, he says nothing has been set in stone, but Alberta's energy minister says several proponents have stepped forward to pay for a new West Coast pipeline.One of those groups, according to the minister, is a Fortune 500 American company willing to take on all of the costs to improvemore on what that could mean for investment and on what companies closer to home think.

Alberta's energy minister says he isn't worried about the July 1st pipeline application deadline.

You know, you're going to have to wait and see, but all indicators are at this stage that we'll be meeting that deadline.

Brian Jean isn't saying much about potential routes or deals with BC.But he is finally talking about who could pay.

We have had a number of proponents come forward and ask to be participants within the pipeline and ask to be investors in the pipeline and want to have offtake on the pipeline.

Gene wouldn't name any of the potential proponents or say if any will be attaching their names to the July 1st application.But he does say one American company is especially interested and Gene appeared to open the door to government investment in the project too.

Certainly the First Nations will be in the partnership.It's possible that the different governments may be.We've had one particular discussion with a proponent actually a Fortune 500 company in very general terms about financing the entire project and building the entire project.

The minister reiterated Indigenous Canadian co -ownership will still be prioritized.

The idea of a wholly foreign -owned pipeline in which there was no Indigenous participation I think could be quite quite difficult to sell.

If they're going to bring up this indigenous owned equity once again, then it needs to be directly stated that whoever is getting profits from this, the payments to these bands get removed from taxpayers.That's the only way that this is fair.Otherwise, taxpayers once again keep funding First Nations.First Nations get extra money from being equity partners in this.What do taxpayers get?

It's not impossible, given the parameters that have been laid out in the federal government's major projects guidelines.

Part of what they're advocating now is we can't afford to pay the industrial carbon price on all our production and also afford this 30 to 40 billion dollar project.Can you pick one or the other?

And with other new projects and expansions on the horizon, oil supply could eventually become an issue.

There's quite a lot of pipeline to move into that will get filled up with what we call oil sands brownfield or existing investments.If you want to do that whole other million barrel pipeline, we need to start investing in Greenfield.No one has done that in the oil sands since 2013.

And one of the major things not being talked about here is the tanker ban.It's still in place.Carney has to repeal that.And something else that's not being mentioned here is there's a record number of oil tankers being ordered at shipyards right now around the world.So we should be getting on this ASAP because there's going to be tankers available, we need to pump the oil into them when those ships are finally available in a couple of years from now.

Trump says this trade will be open for all, but it's unclear if that includes lifting U .S.blockades on Iranian ports.The post runs counter to statements by Iran's foreign minister, who said earlier today that the deal would be signed in the coming days, not Sunday.Iran also says part of the deal includes unfreezing of $24 billion worth of assets and allowing the country to charge ships passing through the strait a toll which U .S.

denies.Tehran says the deal includes a 60 -day ceasefire that will trigger negotiations on Iran's nuclear enrichment program.Let's now invite professor of Middle East politics at Georgetown University.How hopeful are you a deal will be signed Sunday?

Well, there's indications from many different directions that we are on the verge of a deal being signed.Trump is saying it's going to be tomorrow.The Iranians are saying it could be a bit longer.The Pakistani negotiators who play the central role here say similar things.So I think, you know, we're very close to a deal.But let's not be fooled here by what's actually going to be agreed upon.

This is not a comprehensive deal that will resolve outstanding tensions between the United States and Iran.This is simply an agreement to extend the ceasefire for 60 days and then to get to the hard work of trying to negotiate some sort of agreement on Iran's nuclear program, which could drag on for longer than 60 days, and then those negotiations can also break down.So we're talking about something that's much more likely to happen.a comprehensive resolution of U .S.-IranS.

-Iran tensions.Yeah, and that is one of the major sticking points right now.
