WE ARE MOVING!

well hello guys it's brooklyn and obviously dakota my husband and what are we doing we are moving we are moving packing in it Yeah, so if you guys follow us on Instagram or TikTok, you've probably seen our post about how we bought a new house and we are really, really excited.We have five and a half acres of property, so the world is our oyster.

Yes, we're gonna have fun.

Yeah, but that does mean that we have to move.So that is what this video is going to be about.This video is going to follow our journey of buying our future house and packing up and moving from our old house.So enjoy.Dakota and I are buying a house?Question mark?

We... are living in a house right now, but we have an HOA and it doesn't let us have chickens, it doesn't let us have fruit trees, it's just not letting us do the things that we want to do.So, Dakota and I have kind of been looking at different houses and we found this really beautiful house that we are really interested in.So, we came and toured it with our real estate agent and he seems to think it's a really great buy.So, I don't know, we're thinking we might put an offer in.I think we're gonna have my parents come look at it with us and TBD so we might be buying a house and we might be moving.Hey guys, we just showed my parents this house We're gonna put in I think what is our final offer tonight?

So we'll find out if we get the house and hopefully the next like few days And then yeah, Bailey and Asa do not know.I cannot wait to see her reaction.

Okay, it's been 24 hours since we submitted the offer and they accepted it!This doesn't feel real yet.Holy crap.

We just bought another house.

It is.

Like a dream house.

We have property.

We have property.

We have a pond.

We have five acres.We have a pond.We have a house.

So now we have a home for our chickens.

We have a home for our chickens.Okay, so we did not tell Bailey and Asa, so now that it's ours and we have a signed contract.

We gotta surprise them.

Okay, in case y 'all don't know, when you buy a home, there's like a period of time between when you get an offer that's been accepted and when you end up closing on the house, which means you literally sign the paperwork and get the keys.And in between those times, you do a few things, you put down earnings, it's You also can go through and you do blue taping, which basically means that you walk through the house and you mark any scratch on the wall, ding in the counter, you know, hand print on the windows.Like you mark anything that you want that looks like it needs to be fixed.And then typically what the builder does is they come through and they will fix anything that has blue tape on it.So today we are doing both of those things.Okay, I'm going to show you all an example.

So this is from the door knob.obviously before they had a door stopper made a little dent in the wall so all I'll do is put the tape right there.It's that easy.And you just do it for the whole entire house.All right, I think...

I think we did some polka dots.

Yeah, you can see like the blue tape on just like the random places in the house, like all the way up the stairs.How are you feeling though?I feel like it was pretty good.Oh, yeah.

Okay, y 'all.Today is the day.We are surprising Bailey and Asa with our new house better be surprising yeah they actually have no clue like when i told bailey i was pregnant she had an idea right like we had talked about having a baby she she filmed beforeI came to her house that she knew I was pregnant.So it wasn't that big of a surprise.This, this is going to be a big surprise.

Mostly because they have no idea.

Zero, zero, zero.They had no idea.

So I feel like this is going to be a huge shock and we're about to get a freaking good reaction out of her.Yeah.

She's going to be like, no way.

No, yeah, the hardest thing is how do I record her without her seeing she's gonna be in this seat I think this big one So I think I think I'm gonna kind of come down here at this angle And so I can hide my phone and then pull it up and get her reaction And then we'll get out of the car and like show her at the house and stuff and I'll video all of it.So Okay, look who's finally but this morning we're going to look at land with my parents which if you guys don't know my parents have been looking at land for of minutes.They're very interested in moving to like a bigger piece of property.So we've been looking at land with them for a little while and we're pretty excited to see this one this morning because it sounds like maybe there's some hope.

Yeah, we need to get him here, okay, okay, okay, okay?

Did I surprise you I was shocked like actually come in utterly shocked I just I was like Brooklyn you need to move you need to move houses like you don't like your house and then come back and you freaking bought a property.Yeah, it's cute right?What do you think of it?because it's ours.

It's not my parents.You're looking at our house today.Yeah, it's really nice.Okay, y 'all.It has officially been a month since we submitted our offer, and today is close.We're so excited.

I feel like the process has taken forever, but it's really only been a month, which is actually really fast to close on a house, I think.I think.I feel like that's really fast.Yeah.Yeah.And if you don't know what that means, when you close on a house, it basically means you go through all the paperwork, the documents, the insurance, the loan information, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

And you sign it all right there.And then they literally tell you, you own the house, they hand you the key.So pretty exciting.We are on our way.I didn't know what was like the right attire to wear to close on a house.So this is what I wore.

Here, I was gonna hold it.like too fancy to be in like something fancy but then too casual to be in something casual so I ended up going something in between mid yeah middle tier

Oh my gosh, yeah.Got a big stack of papers.

There are times in my life where I wish I had a prettier signature and it's days like today.

Never thought I would be good at that and here we are.

Baby, we own a house.

We own a house!We are pulling into the house.The first time as the owners.This is our home.Our new home.It's so cool.

crazy feel real wow the real baby wow no now we can do whatever we want with this let's ask everybody if they enjoy watching you drive it's my birthday today and i i said i wanted to be the passenger princess yeah and i love it you look so cute driving hey i will not tell you how old he is because dakota doesn't like me no i don't like when you switch those numbers the other way not 23 but okay This is our very first time walking into the house as the owners and there's like a tradition that you're supposed to carry like your wife across the threshold.I don't know where that tradition came from and I don't really know the purpose of it but we didn't do that with the house we live in now and so I'm determined we're going to do that with this house.Okay.

basket how sweet is that from the sellers that's so nice this is so crazy i can't believe we have a new house okay y 'all i have our very first piece of decor i went antiquing with dakota and my parents and i saw all of these like old rolling pins and i got this like vintage jar to put it in.It felt like the right move because this house is very, it has a lot of character.It's very like a mix of modern and also like old real wood.And so I felt like this was the perfect first piece of decor.Not on purpose necessarily.It's just because I just had it in my car.

Cause I just bought it.But it's the very first thing we're moving into the house.So ready to go.Look at how cute this rolling pin is.Extra on it.Today is a day of knocking out a lot of our to -do list tasks.

We need to get blinds installed in the house.security cameras and systems installed in the house.We are trying to line every single drawer and cabinet and shelf in the house to protect all of the wood.We need to get our RO system and water filter system set up.We need to get a fence in the yard.We need to get all of our alarms on the doors.

We have got a massive to -do list before we can officially move into this house.Dakota is currently working on lining all of our drawers and cabinets.If you guys don't know what this is, we do this with every single house we've into but basically in order to protect the wood in the drawers and like the shelves we put aliner, this is literally a liner, in it so that if something spills or there's like spices or a liquid or something that spills in here, you can take this out and either replace it or you can throw it in the washing machine and put it back in.And then the wood underneath the liner stays protected.And I swear you guys, this is the best hack because I can't even tell you the amount of times that we've pulled the liners off and the liners are like disgusting, but then the wood and shelves Underneath are so nice like they look brand new and it's really nice Especially if you're trying to sell a house or you're renting in a home and you've got to keep it nice So Dakota's working on doing that.

So I was gonna show you the ones he just did He just did these drawers for a bathroom Perfect.I get this one Line it all in.Done!Wow, what a handy husband I have.How are you feeling about doing the rest of the house?

Four down, a hundred more to go.

This is actually the first house we've lived in where we've had a septic system and then we also have a ginormous propane tank.on our property that holds all of our gas that we use for the house.You know, there's just things.Utilities, wi -fi, water, electricity.We've got to get all that set up.Just, you know, just moving things.

Just moving things.Huda and I are at the new house today.Looking a little, looking a little rough, but we are building our first furniture piece for the house, which It just so happens to be rocking chairs for the front porch.And we bought four of them so that we can have like two on either side of the front porch.So that's what we're doing.We don't even have a trash can yet, but we'd all be darned if we don't have a place to sit.

The cutest part is that we bought these black rocking chairs because when we toured the house, they had them and they looked really nice.But on top of that, we have this, this tiny, tiny, tiny little chair, rocking chair.we got for Archer.So we not only have four adult rocking chairs, but we do also have a child -sized black rocking chair, because of course, we're not leaving Archer out.Hoda's hauling them into the house right now.You can see we have two more that are still in boxes.

He just carried the third one in, in a box.And we have the fourth one semi -assembled.

Here we go.We are in building mode.

Okay, it took about an hour, but look how cute they look on the porch.Our little black rocking chair is the very first piece of furniture in this house.Hoda's carrying out the last one and he's gonna add it to our little family collection on this side of the porch.What do you think, babe?It's Dakota's, Archer's, and mine.It's perfect.

One of the things we wanted to do when we moved into our new house was epoxy the garage floor.Dakota decided this was a task he was going to do himself.So he's currently DIYing it.How are you feeling?

I see why people freaking pay to do it.

Dakota was literally up all night.on this project.

$4 ,000 but I see why people charge for this.

But he is we're knocking it out tag teaming it today to finish the task and I feel like it's a lot easier with two people right than it is one.Yeah.but it's currently drying, as you can see.And then we have to put the top coat on.Today is packing day, which means we've already kind of been packing up our house.So there's a lot of like bits and pieces already put in boxes, but today we are committing, committing.

Like we are packing up all the things we haven't been packing in the last few days.And we are really trying to just take it down to the basics so that when we move in a handful of days, like everything is ready to go.It's really quick and easy.So that means we're starting with packing.I have been avoiding this closet because it is so jam packed.Like there's so much stuff.

I need to get rid of things and I need to pack things.So it's time.Okay, y 'all, it is now 9 p .m.and we have packed up our bedroom, our entire bathroom, our entire closet.Well, we are just about done with the closet.

I still have a few more things to pack.The kitchen, we made a lot of progress today, but let me tell you, living out of boxes for the next four days, I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm not like, we literally look just terrible.boxes and boxes and boxes like i forgot like how many boxes like a whole house take up like just also my closet like all of these trash bags are in my closet so that's embarrassing we have one more day to pack tomorrow and then the movers come so wish us luck i think we're just about there though so this is our big old moving truck we're hoping we can fit all our stuff in one truck but they don't know for sure we might have to take two trips so far it's still looking pretty empty granted look at our garage we literally have so much stuff like you don't even realize how much stuff you have until you have to pack it up and move it and then you're like holy crap to decorate an entire house and like live life you have a lot of freaking stuff bailey came to join us for moving there's so many things on the floor i know it's like i can't walk without tripping over something right now no this is uh ace and i just got home from like a three -week trip so we were not here to help pack up anything in the boxes with their help to unpack.I hear it all.Yeah, unpack.So we're going to unpack.

My brain isn't working.

Brooklyn's a little bitstressed to say the least, but right now we are currently cleaning as the movers take boxes out.Things that are embarrassing for no reason.Number 22.Moving your bed.Moving your bed and discovering what's underneath it.

I think there's always like dust and weird stuff.

Or couch.Anywhere where you can't see.

Especially if you have dogs because they go under your bed and you can't get under there.

Alright, boxes on boxes on boxes of stuff.How you feeling?Well, the hardest part, in my opinion, was packing it all up.I think it's way easier to unpack than it is to pack.I think it's easier to unpack.Way easier to unpack.

Also, it feels good to go through your stuff.

I agree.Like, I got rid of so much stuff.So, I'm feeling impressed with myself.You told me that there was a specific book that she lost, like, couldn't find where it was.It wasn't until packing up all her stuff that she discovered the book.It was like, in fairness to me, I'm 99 .9 % sure that Dakota just, like, it in a random corner.

Don't tell him I said that because he's convinced he didn't but like I didn't put it there.

Alright, Brooklyn and Dakota are working on emptying the fridge.

Yes, it's like the last thing we have to do pretty much in the house.Yeah, and look at this giant cooler too.They've definitely got a system worked out.Honestly It's really starting to empty out in here.Like holy cow.There's almost nothing left Okay, so now that it's a little more empty here.

They just took a truckload of stuff over to the new house So Brooklyn and I are gonna go over there and tell like kind of instruct where to put things and start unpacking Ace has been put in charge of getting everybody food.So he just got everybody lunch.There's like seven sandwiches in this bag and also seven more on the counter.And then he's gonna go get pizza as well so that the whole crew can eat.And then after that, on to the next thing, I guess.This is how you eat on a move day.

I'm back here.Hey, Brooklyn's in the back.I'm like shadowed.When you are moving, Brooklyn, you eat as you drive.In the car.We've made it to the new house.

Yes, at this point, we're just directing where things go before we can even unpack.Just listen to those birds chirp.The heavenly sound.Look at this.It's so peaceful.Look at this.

Heaven.All right, how are you feeling?

I'll feel better once we're done.There's so much stuff.

That's like a move mantra.I don't even remember what's in these boxes anymore.It's literally just like reading the labels and hoping for the best right now.Right now we're currently in the stage of putting boxes in places.What's funny is like the boxes take up more space than the stuff.Yeah, it's so true.

Because like once you get everything put away in closets and stuff like it's not that crowded but the boxes make it feel so crowded.Officially unboxing the very first box in the house.Kitchen stuff!Okay, we are putting the utensil organizers into the drawers to help like basically create like little individual spaces so that we can separate all of the utensils the way that we want it.

At least I got the couch to flop on now.What time is it?It's like three o 'clock and this is the mood.Yeah.It's been six hours of moving.

We've got at least.

Look who came to help.Mom is here.

We already were helping.

We were on our feet and all.Yes, but now they're here to organize, which is really where we need help.Mom, the decorating wizard, came in and organized the shelves so that they looked all cute with the glassware.They're in process.

We're still missing things.

Yeah, things are still getting organized, but look at how cute they look right now, guys.So, Mom and I worked on this too.We alphabetizedall the spices.Look at this.Holy crap.

This is extremely satisfying.We are organizing the medicine closet, which I already had pre -organized in these lovely bins, and they're organized by category.What does that sound like?

Yes, my mom gave me the idea.

Okay, we've now gotten to the point where we're bringing in the heavy stuff.Fridges, washing machine dryers, mattresses like this one, rugs, things like that.We're starting to put furniture together like building the beds so that they have somewhere to sleep.All of that fun stuff.The moving outfit has turned into something quite random because it was really warm and then I got cold.We've been putting these on everything.

They're like soft like foam.So you put them on the bottom of furniture so it doesn't like scratch your floors up.So useful and actually really not expensive at all.See mom and Brooklyn?They're putting it on the bottoms of the stuff.I just can't even make this up because this is the view out the window.

What?Insane.Alright, mom's officially decided to tackle Archie's closet.We'll at least get it started.With the hangers and the little shoes.Look at his little shoe collection.

I can't even.Aso's brought us food.Fajitas are here.And queso, we all need to recharge a little bit.We're all getting a little hungry up in here.He's coming in clutch with the food again.
