We Built the greatest Canyon fortress in Vanilla Rust..

This is a normal Wilgem Rust base.Small, compact, probably hidden on the top of a mountain, with the sole aim of survival by staying under the radar and out of sight.But not this adventure, because after stumbling across the most unique location in Rust, I had no choice but to forget everything I knew about building, as I'd be attempting the largest, most expensive, and demanding build of my Rust career.All on a 1000 player server.My name is Wilgem, sit back, relax, and I hope you enjoy.Like many others, this adventure began right back on the beach, except with Stevie by my side.

Together we travelled across this new island.We battled our way through the desert before eventually finding a haven at the top of the world.And from there, we forged our plan to take over this canyon, laying down the blueprints of what would be our most ambitious plan ever.And that brings us to now.I just got a raid alert for someone in our base.It's too early for Stevie to be awake.

Sounds like our neighbors.I don't know what they've actually blown.They're actually inside the base.Oh, my God.OK, I think they've just blown into the shell.Taking this door, I need it.

Looks like they just blew two doors.Well, that was bizarre.I guess they were just trying to be optionistic.Only came with enough for a couple doors and hoped we left it open, but...Yep, I had woken up on the morning of day two to a slight scare.And it was safe to say I had a pretty good idea who was responsible.

And on our doorstep, it certainly wouldn't be the last we'd hear of them.My bees survived!And the chickens, too.Oh, I'm so proud.Good morning, good morning.As you can tell, Stevie was now awake and our adventure was ready to begin.

And Stevie and his infinite wisdom had come up with the genius idea to get our hands on lots of gears.What did we need the gears for?Well, let's just say it involves our rather ambitious canyon plans.With our now thriving bee enterprise and after the recent attempt on our base by the neighbors, I wanted to make sure our roof was secure.We had to make surethis honey stayed protected, as we'd be needing it later.

Now, it was a new day, and there was much to be done.Over the next week, if we wanted to achieve our goals, we were gonna need to farm an insane amount of stone and metal.More than we could achieve with just a pickaxe in our bare hands.But I had a plan to up our efficiency down the line.Ooh, there is a hot air balloon shooting SKS north.Be careful of that.

Yeah, they're kinda coming our way too, be careful.

Wait, they actually really are coming closer.

Well, thinking too much of the hot air balloon for now, we continued to farm around Arkan, trying to start the day off gathering as much as we could.It seemed as though the land around us was peaceful, and not too much had changed overnight.Or at least that was, until...

And though we'd sent them a swift message, the names would only get more familiar.And it wouldn't be just them appearing around our mountain.

I'm waving to him, he's looking at us from his base.Oh, the Pyramid Base guys.He's in, uh, Nomad.Oh, these rats are still going.

Shooting us.Double damage, dead.Clearly our area wasn't entirely peaceful and still early in the morning as the day continued things would only get more dangerous Wait, it's that that's the the pyramid base.Yeah.Yeah, I feel like we should go ahead over there.You should have a look at that Yeah, I need I need to ammo though.

Do we have one extra power for me to automate a system or no?

Yeah, we should do.I mean, I'm going to need to get another solar panel anyway for this farm.So yeah, we should have the power.With so many resources that we need to gather for this build.I think we can all agree it's clear what our next step would be.Spend an hour making a chicken pie.

Use that chicken pie to get better genetics when planting clones.Use those clones and spend another two hours waiting to grow berries.Take those berries and make a pure orty.Then spend another hour getting a bear pie so you can combine the bear pie and the orty to get an extra 75 % farming efficiency when hitting nodes.Would it be faster to just hit the nodes?Probably.

But this is more fun.Oh, I've got to cross over the whole canyon to collect water.If only we had a bridge, man.

There is an absolute war going on in the river, but don't mind me. I just need some water.That's all I want.And so off I went on this farming side quest, now collecting everything I'd need for that first chicken pie.

To this run, I'm going to start building a bridge.Garage.

With the chicken pie activated, I spent the next few minutes gathering the best of every seed type that I could.I would then clone these and combine them to make the best possible seeds for every type.And it seemed out of all the shenanigans we'd been a part of, this was what was attracting the attention.uh we uh we are members guys you tried to raid us we wanted to friendly for you oh do they now after they try and raid us okay last slot for blue now ohGod, that's a full God clone.That's just a straight up chicken pie.

It's so good, man.

Okay, we got some good clones though.So I won't bore you all as I spent the next couple of hours doing nothing but sitting in base, cloning and farming berries.Would I recommend spending 5 hours straight just so you can farm nodes with higher efficiency to build an unnecessarily big base that you don't have to?Probably not, but I like to do things properly.And doing Rust properly takes a lot of time.Time that most people don't have.

It had been a few hours and the cloning process was almost done.Stevie's building was coming on, but we couldn't stay in base any longer.The day was progressing forward, but there were still things that we needed.And on the top of that list was a workbench, level 3.

Quickly slapping down an outpost for us to spawn near the silo, we hadn't yet realized just how perilous our new home could be.Merely a few seconds after moving in, and our 2x1 would no doubt be a target.And this was the same group we encountered yesterday, and we knew they'd have been running the missile silo non -stop.Which meant lots of airdrops, lots of elite crates, and no doubt, they would have lots of explosives.I have a laser sight aimed at my head from somewhere.I'm a bit concerned.

With only the first foundations down of our fortress, our base was far from defendable.If any group were to come now, our fate would be uncertain.We had to get upgrading and build as much as we could before it was too late.

Fun's over, let's get us home.Once again, we had come to Missile Silo, started a war, and would have to immediately flee with everything we had gathered, because our base would soon be long gone.Still over there, Mill Base.

And in the time that we'd spent at Missile Silo, there was some good news waiting for me back in the base.All the berries are ready!My gosh, we might have enough for a single purity.If I've done the maths right...Now, unfortunately, while heading to the missile silo had been profitable, we still didn't have the Elite Fragments for that Tier 3.And the silo was clearly far too competitive for us to run it ourselves.

But red keycards aren't the only way to get the Fragments, as when we saw the locked crate at Trainyard, our nearest monument, we knew we had to take this opportunity.That's fine, I think we just take the building and wait for the crate to pop.Ooh, found a backpack that's gonna come in handy when we kill everyone and have to run away with all the loot.Someone next to me, actually.Ah, shoot that guy, he's gonna cross you.
