Hello, everybody.Welcome to That's Football.I'm Mark Goldbridge.This is your latest football transfer news and news.And we're starting off about transfers and news with this Chelsea sanction ban they've received for previous transfer issues.We'll talk about that straight away.

Also, Bruno Guimaraes' Arsenal, how close is that?And this FIFA fallout where, you know, it was big news yesterday, but I mean, look, I think this is bigger news.So Chelsea have been handed a £10 million fine by the FAA and a suspended two -window transfer.This relates to secret payments to agents when Reuben Abramovich was owner.Chelsea fans, I respect you.You're going to be very happy that that is the case.

There is no transfer ban and £10 million.If Chelsea sneeze, they probably spit out more money than that.So look, Chelsea don't really have anything.And remember, it was their own self -reporting of this issue that brought it to light.So Chelsea, at the end of the day, I would park you out of this and say, Okay, you've self -reported, you've done that, fine.My issue is with the Premier League.

Like, I...These sanctions, these payments to agents took place between somewhere like 2012 and 2016.It might have actually been longer than that.It involved the signings of Hazard, Willian, Eto 'o. Man United and Man City wanted Hazard. Spurs thought they'd got Willian. These are not signing, you know, 18 -year -old kids who never touch the first team and get sold. These are Premier League players that helped Chelsea win the title. I'm sorry if Man United had been paying agents extra money to get deals over the line for players that helped us win the Premier League, I don't think we're getting a £10 million fine. I just don't. self -reporting or not i just don't i think it's uh i think it's a huge story i also think if man city had done this they wouldn't be getting a 10 million fine either i think it's because chelsea have got new

owners, they're not the power they were, and the feeling is that let's leave Chelsea alone because they self -reported.Look, I throw the door open to this, but look, I am not comfortable.Like, Chelsea are going to get away with it or whatever, fine.I don't have an axe to grind with Chelsea, which is why I've used, if it was Man United or Man City, I think people would go mad.

Chelsea basically paid money to agents illegally to get deals done for them.And one of those players was Hazard, according to reports.Hello, this is just, this is like, and it happened in the last decade.Why are we okay with this?Why is it like a slap on the wrist and a £10 million fine?Self -reporting or not?

Oh, I've stolen the crown jewels and basically I've had a bloody good holiday and yeah, I'm telling you I did it because you never found out who did it.I don't think I'm not going to prison for it, you know?I find that self -reporting thing crap.I'm sorry, I do.You know, if you commit a big crime and then you said, I know you never found out it was me, it was me. I don't think people go, oh, don't worry about it then, thanks for telling us.I think, you know, we'll give you a suspended sentence.

You know, if it's a life sentence crime, you're going to prison, aren't you?And I just, I, look, maybe I'm in the minority, that's why we have these conversations, but I'm just, I've read so much about it today and I remember doing a video on it a couple of months ago.I remember Man United and Man City wanted Hazard and he went to Chelsea.I remember Spurs wanted Willian.There are numerous deals where Chelsea have basically self -reported that they paid agents money to get deals over the line.And they won titles because of it.

And everyone talks about Man City and their charges but...not been found guilty.Yet.Chelsea?I just think that's big.I really do.

I'm sorry.I just think, like, you got players that other clubs might have got by doing something other clubs didn't do that you shouldn't have done.But you can have a two -year suspended transfer ban and a £10m fine.I mean, can I be blunt?I sort of look at it and go, I wish Man United had done this.I wish we'd paid a few agents extra money to get deals over the line because 10 years later when we'd won a few titles we'd just get a £10m fine.

I mean, self -reporting or not, the punishment is ridiculous.I'm going to get a £10m fine for chucking extra money at agents to get deals done that helped us win league titles.And all because I self -reported.Now look, the counter -argument would be if Chelsea didn't self -report no -one would have known about this.Well, and?We do know about it.

Chelsea did self -report.Why did Chelsea self -report?Because it was going to come out anyway.Why would you admit to something that if you don't admit it, no one would have known about?So it must have been going to come out.They just self -reported.

Or if it was never going to come out, well, is that not a reflection on how bad the Premier League is being run?Because they did it multiple times.It worries me and it worries me how many other clubs have done this, because I think that maybe the Premier League, no other clubs have done it.I don't know.I just think everyone focuses in on Man City.and these FFP charges.

I do think what Chelsea did under a previous owner was bad and I think they won titles and some of those players helped them win titles and it's OK. I'm not OK with that.I'm not OK with that.I don't think it doesn't matter that I'm not OK with it, but I'm not OK with it.And look, maybe we'll get some Chelsea fans coming in because it's like a VAR decision, isn't it?When youbad VAR decision goes your way, the fans of that club come out defending VAR.

I find it hilarious because we're not actually having a pop at Chelsea.You know, why would you come out and defend your club for doing that?You were wrong and you should have got a bigger punishment for it, but you're not going to.So, you know, fair play.If Man United had done it, Chelsea fans would want United to get a bigger...It doesn't sit right with me.

Doesn't sit right with me.Anyway, get your comments in on about that.With regards to FIFA, look, there was some big news yesterday about FIFA trying to sell off parts of the World Cup.Thankfully, lots of federations led by UEFA are basically saying we're going to boycott the World Cup.So it's a bit like the Super League, you know, Infantino needs to go.I think I think the World Cup was fantastic, but there was a few things in there like the Balogun red card, et cetera, that just, you know, it was almost like football for sale, wasn't it?

And we don't want that football for the fans.So I'm glad to see federations are stepping up about that.Let me know your thoughts on that.And also just a bit of transfer news.Bruno Guimaraes, obviously, Newcastle parted ways with Eddie Howe yesterday.We reacted to that.

Bruno Guimaraes is back in training on Monday.Will he be there?I think they're meant to be in Spain, La Manga.Will he be there with Newcastle or will he move on?We're hearing that that deal, Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal is going to happen.But when it's going to happen, you know, we'll have to wait and see.

But I think in Newcastle's I mean, there's no point waiting for the new managers to see what he wants to do.I think as a new manager, you're better off coming in and Bruno Guimaraes is gone.You don't want to be coming in trying to persuade a player that wants to go and then you waste two weeks and then you lose two weeks.I think Newcastle are going to make some interesting signings over the next few weeks.I think there are some really good players that can come in that would love to come to Newcastle.There's a few in the Bundesliga.

I think Sano, I think Stiller.I think there's some good players out there that would love to come to Newcastle.And Newcastle, it's almost like a new project.isn't it?Bruno Guimaraes, Tonali, Anthony Gordon, they're all part of a different time.I think Newcastle with a new manager need to move on.
