WIDDECOMBE LATEST: POLICE LIE OVER T3RROR LINK

Well, well, well, there has been more gross dishonesty from the police when it came to the case of Anne Whittacombe.I'm going to tell you, first of all, something that has shocked me.Time and time again, in all of these cases, the first thing the police rush to do is to confirm that it is not a tea incident, to confirm that they suspect a white British person of it.And actually, in this case, there's really very little evidence of them having any basis for saying that.So let me just be clear on what we know so far.Let's be clear.

The first day, the police were attempting to imply that this was a burglary gone wrong.They never explicitly said that, but they were very keen to say, local man from Newton's Abbott, which is five minutes down the road, 26 years old.The investigation is moving at a very, very fast pace.Send us your videos.We've arrested somebody.And at the moment, we're not looking for any other suspects.

This is not anything to do with anything to do with politics.It's not got anything to do with tea.nothing to do with immigration, it's got nothing to do with any of that.And we all thought, yeah, get that.Ann Widdecombe, I didn't know her that well, I met her a few times, she's a feisty old girl.If there was an intruder in her house, say a crack addict, who'd broken in, and she found them, she'd come at them with a rolling pin.

Now, that is ill -advised, you shouldn't do it, but I could perfectly easily see her doing that, and that was all fine.Except for what happened today, when suddenly the police announced they were no longer interested in the person they'd arrested, and now they didn't really know what was going on at all.Now this is what upsets me. because they have effectively spun a yarn to the British media, which is not based on any real facts, not based on any real knowledge.It's based on a concern that people will go out and say, well, this is a terrorist incident, or she was attacked for her political views.or it's a lefty that's done it.That is their principal concern.

Their principal concern should actually be running a proper investigation rather than managing the media narrative of it.Now, let me just be clear on one thing.I personally could see how she would tackle a burglar, but we don't know.what has happened.And this video isn't actually an attempt to tell you something that you haven't seen elsewhere.It's an attempt to remind you that we don't know what's going on and why that's so important.

Because it's ludicrous.You know, the minute this investigation began, the minute there was an announcement about it, you know, the police didn't know who did it, which is a function of the fact that they arrested the wrong person.Nothing wrong with that in an inquiry.But they don't know who did it, but they definitely know it's not terrorism.They definitely know it's not related to Ann Whitacombe's politics.They definitely know that it's not a lefty who's gone crazy.

This is the dishonesty of modern British policing, and I think it's related to the fact that they're unable now to know what to do.Because in the old days, the idea that somebody would be attacked for their politics basically meant it was an IRA attack, and you'd probably know about that fairly quickly.But the idea that there would be these lone wolves, the idea that there would be these mass stabbings, the idea all of this stuff is a very modern thing that has come with multicultural Britain.And so it's really very hard.But for me, what upsets me is when you see the police prioritising as their number one thing, making sure there is no backlash from the public, well I think that we're actually pretty responsible.The backlash from the public, so -called, when it came to Southport was over Axel Rudi Cabana, where people said, and I think they were vindicated, in saying that somebody who was indigenous to Southport, whose family had been in Southport for 200, 300, a thousand years,

would not commit this crime.Why did they say that?Because actually, these knife crime offences actually are not culturally British.In Britain, what would happen is normally if you want to attack a political opponent, you would run up and shout at them or go to a public meeting.The idea of simply eliminating somebody that you disagreed with or attacking their children is very unusual.Similarly with grooming gangs.

We've always had PDF rings.We've always had that.Throughout history, when photography was invented, so this sort of material was invented at the same time.People think it was invented with the internet, but they're very wrong.had that.But what we've never had is a group of people who come in and say that they're culturally allowed to do it as part of a way of ethnically cleansing their opponents out of the area.

So we're all dealing with a new scenario.I say that multiculturalism has failed, and this proves multiculturalism has failed, but we are where we are.So, with that in mind, let me first of all rebuke the police for making clear that whilst we don't know who killed Ann Widdicombe, we definitely know it wasn't a terrorist.That is fairly obviously a ludicrous thing.Let me now confirm to you what we actually do know, and this is absolutely confirmed.This is from the Times newspaper, the paper of record.

Right, on Wednesday, July the 8th, Anne Widdicombe at 8 .05am did an interview on TalkTV, my channel, with Mark Dolan.It was all about Nigel Farage running against Count Binface.That's not that important.So then at 12 .19pm, a researcher from Channel 5 receives a message from Widdicombe while discussing a possible video interview.That means that she's now texting from a phone, probably on WhatsApp.OK, so 12 .30pm, That is in the afternoon of Wednesday.

Police believe Whiddicombe was attacked around this time.then at 12 .48 Widdicombe has stopped replying to the Channel 5 researcher.then we get on to July the 9th.Now, that is what we know and that is what is absolutely confirmed, but I want to remonstrate and rebuke the British police who have lied about all of this.If this is a political attack, then that's something we have to deal with.I have to say to you, I'll give you my own experience of concerns after David Amess and the Labour MP whose name escapes me at the moment, that's not me being disrespectful to the Labour MP who was also killed, been badly unspent.

Doesn't matter.Okay.What I wanted to happen was every single local authority has interview rooms where they have basically hardened glass in between the subject and the person they're talking to.The reason you've got that actually is because of abusive fathers, basically.And obviously they're allowed to see their kids, but they do it behind hardened glass.That would only happen, by the way, if the courts have said that they should do that.

I think that MPs and others should meet constituents in that way.And that's what I've advocated.for in the past.In terms of media figures like myself, look, I think I've been overly cavalier in the past, and I've been told off both by my friends, my family, and indeed the company for being overly honest about where I live and things like that.I will say one thing.I live in a building now where there's lots of flats, and because it's a converted old building, it's quite hard to know where the flats are.

What I did do is I took the actual number of my flat off the front door and put a fake number on that nobody else has got.So if you go around the development looking for number 82, that's I made up that number, you won't find me.So I think we do have to worry about this.But I think we have to also set it into context.And we have to say there are major concerns moreabout the way that our society is becoming more dangerous for you as well as me.

Because part of the reason that people like Anne Widdicombe and people like me, and I wouldn't compare myself to Anne Widdicombe, but part of the reason that people like us need to be more careful.do stand up in the way that we do is because we feel that we all should be in it together.If you are under threat, if you are under risk, why should I sit behind bodyguards and security, not that I could afford them, but why should I sit behind bodyguards and security when you don't?That is why, of course, I've advocated before taking the security down from Westminster, because I say we have moved border security from Dover to Westminster.And now anybody can come into the country, but you're not able to get into the bits of the country where our politicians live.Now, last night, last night, I made a tribute to Anne Widdicombe, and I want to play that right now.

thing we're coming to the end of the show we are going to be speaking to Ben Fletcher in a couple of minutes but look the news that we have got through yesterday about the day before is that one of the greats of British politics has died I want all of you to remember what our role is in this democracy and in this country all of us have a duty to stand up for what we believe in and to debate things in a proper political way you are contributing to that just by enjoying this show and by reading the papers and perhaps debating things or talking about things with your friends and family.I've worried for a great deal of time now about the weakness of politicians in this country.There are too many people who are a haircut and a sharp suit rather than an actual set of beliefs.When you look back at the great politicians in history, whether you look back at Benjamin Disraeli oryou look back at Clement Attlee, whether you look back at Winston Churchill, whether you look back at Margaret Thatcher, Anne Widdicombe is somebody who can join their ranks.And here is the amazing thing about Anne Widdicombe, and you heard it earlier today.

The reality is, oh you heard it on the show, the reality is she never achieved high public office.She was only a junior minister in the Home Office.Her career was cut short partly by 1997 and perhaps things would have been different if the Conservatives had won the election in 1997 or indeed if she'd have managed to be alive at a time which was easier for a Conservative politician to succeed.But you know what?Quality is always something that will be recognized by people.This is a woman who was short.

She was overweight.She wasn't the most attractive woman in the world physically, but her sheer intellect and personality and her sheer willingness to put her views forward.Tatchell, by the way, is wrong.Whittaker may have had her Christian views, but she was never rude to people.She was never bigoted to people.She was never nasty to anybody.

She didn't seek to put people down.She didn't seek to ridicule people, and she wasn't interested in hatred in politics.What she was interested in, more than anything else, was about putting views forward and debating things in a proper and sensible way.We live in a world now where what you say is more important than what you do.She lived her life by a standard of decency, by principles that I think transcend generations.And I think this weekend, as you go about your business, you will think to yourself, Who do I want to be in my life?

Do I want to be the pathetic show -offs that we see in the House of Commons now?Do I want to be the haircut?Do I want to be...facelift?Do I want to be the Botox and expensive suit?Or do I want to be the Ann Widdicombe, the person who has worked hard all of their lives, served their community all of their lives, brought a genuine sense of debate and interest to people by talking about politics in front of young people and going on Strictly Come Dancing.

She brought politics to a whole new generation.including going on Celebrity Big Brother.She is somebody who, as she goes to heaven tonight, will be able to say to herself, I lived my life to the greatest extent I could do it.The values that I was given, I lived by.The talents that I was born with, I used.And I think, in an age of trashy people going on TikTok, talking absolute garbage, somebody like that ought to be venerated and remembered.

I hope she will be in your prayers this weekend.And I hope also we will all try harder to be more like Ann Widdicombe and less like the facile and tacky junkmeisters that we see all over social media.That's Nick for the show.
