The ROG Xbox Ally base handheld will be priced at $700, whereas the ROG Xbox Ally X will be priced at $1,000. Whoa! Okay, that's a little pricier than I thought it was gonna be. It's gonna be hard to compete with the Nintendo Switch 2 priced at $450.
Then again, the Switch 2 has the performance of a console, whereas the ROG Xbox Ally is more of a handheld gaming PC. Yes, both the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will boast incredible performance for a handheld, which is why the prices are higher. But I do find it interesting that Steam doesn't mind the Steam Deck competing with the ROG Xbox Ally. Both the Steam Deck and the ROG Xbox Ally can play Steam games, but the ROG Xbox Ally has the edge with Game Pass and the Xbox Library.
This is also the very first Xbox device to be able to play PlayStation exclusives through Steam. This is also the very first Xbox device to be able to play PlayStation exclusives through Steam. Well, we'll have to see which handheld comes out on top.
