Of course we're talking about the big apple New York and it's not coming and it's not coming without a healthy dose of controversy y'all in particular. You know that Zorhan in in the run up to his mayoral campaign and kind of during his campaign as well, he spoke out against Israel and a lot of people felt
that he was also speaking out against Jewish people. And now he's trying to, he's having to try to explain himself, but people aren't buying it y'all. He's already had one of the members of his new administration have to resign
for comments that she's made. And now reporters are calling out all kinds of comments from other people. And the Anti-Defamation League has actually said approximately 20% or 80 people out of his 400 person new administration
have said some questionable things. And also y'all, he has just appointed a new chief to the New York Fire Department. And of course she's coming under fire because people are saying yo she was never even a firefighter but she was an EMS she was a she was a paramedic so we're gonna get into that as well y'all so without further ado we're gonna go ahead and get to all this mom Donnie

story. Another political shot against the camp of New York mayor-elect Mandani. The Anti-Defamation League claims one out of five people in Mandani's transition campaign and committee have in the past made or shared anti-Israel or anti-Jewish statements. The mayor-elect apologizing during his campaign a lot of times for anything untoward. He may have said it in the past several times against Israel. But he also points out there is a difference between anti-Semitism and
political criticism of Israel. Our Andre Burkett on the story tonight. He's live at City Hall for us. New.
And right Bill, the mayor-elect and the world-renowned Our N.J. Burkett on the story tonight. He's live at City Hall for us. Newt.
And right. Bill, the mayor-elect and the world-renowned authority on bigotry apparently can't see eye-to-eye when it comes to anti-Semitism. Yes, as you remember, last week, Mamdani took quick action over the social media post of one of his appointees. But on this, he's standing his ground. Zoram Mamdani says his transition advisory committee is as diverse as the city itself, with a wide variety of opinions.
But there's a limit. There's no tolerance for anti-Semitism.
The committee is advising the incoming administration. But tonight, the Anti-Defamation League says 20 percent of the committee's 400 members should raise red flags. This year, a number of individuals with a history of concerning behavior or associations, individuals who have engaged in some type of anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist or anti-Israel activities and or have ties to groups that engage in such activities.
The group claims some have praised Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam. Others allegedly praised the October 7th attacks in Israel.
Now y'all, reporters, they're going at Mamdani. They're going at his jugular for this because again, you know the Anti-Defamation League, they are a very prominent organization calling out all kinds of discrimination and they're going directly at Mamdani saying, saying hey man you're not doing enough and in fact it looks like you're harboring or even advocating for some of these discriminatory things that people are saying. So in a recent press conference
one of the reporters just took it right to Mom Donnie and he kind of put Mom Donnie on his back foot about all of this.
We all saw that Capacosta stepped down. And he kinda put Mamdani on his back foot about all of this. cartoon depicting Israel as a dog. There was another person on the Committee on Worker Justice, Kazi Fouzia, who said, resistance is justified, hours after October 7th. Someone else saying, Zionism is racism, from the Committee on Legal Affairs. Someone from the Committee on Worker Justice, who shared a post that said, Zionists are worse than the Inquisition and the Nazis. Will the policy of your administration

And were any of these statements or these people that I identified or that were identified in the report, were these already flagged or identified by your transition team?
So I have always spoken out against antisemitism and hatred in any form and have made it clear that the commitment I have made to protect New Yorkers, to protect Jewish New Yorkers is one that I will uphold as the next mayor of this city. And we must distinguish between anti-Semitism and criticism of the Israeli government. The ADL's report oftentimes ignores this distinction, and in doing so, it draws attention away from the very real crisis of anti-Smitism we see not only just in
our city but in the country at large. And this is a team we are speaking of of more than 400 New Yorkers that we have assembled to advise on the transition. These are committees, 17 of which that are range from worker justice to the importance of the arts. But did any of those examples I read or in the report, your team looked at it, did any of those go too far where you said, OK, this, this is kind of anti-Semitic. I think there's, there's no tolerance for, for anti-Semitism. And also when we're thinking about critiques of Zionism and different forms of political expression as much of what this report focuses on, there's a wide variety of political opinion,
even within our own 400 plus transition committee on the Israeli government and its conduct.
And in the meantime, y'all, Mamdani has named his new fire chief. And it's a woman who checks certain boxes. If you know what I mean, you're gonna see that here in the report. But also people are criticizing, not her so much,
but criticizing her appointment saying, hey, she doesn't even have any experience being a firefighter. But on the other side, people are saying, no, this lady, she does have high-level executive experience.
She was a paramedic, she was the chief of EMS, she knows what she's doing, and she'll be an excellent fire chief, y'all. So it looks like with Mamdani,
everything is controversial at this point. Today we have a big announcement from New York City Mayor-Elect Zohra Mamdani, who announced the city's next fire commissioner.
Lillian Bonsignore, a well-respected retired EMS chief,
she's now going to make history as the first openly gay fire commissioner.
Former fire commissioner Robert Tucker's last day on the job was last week, after saying he wouldn't work with Mamdani.
All right, Mike, a trailblazer with three decades of experience, three decades as a first responder. Well, tonight, the unions and the rank and file alike are praising the appointment, one of the most consequential decisions of the incoming administration.
And now you have a commissioner that can start an I.V.
Lillian Bonsignore is a career first responder. In just nine days, she'll be running the world's busiest fire department, one of the most important appointments of the incoming administration.
And they deserve a leader who cares about their work because she did it herself, who understands every detail, and will fight tirelessly to empower FDNY and make it the best firefighting force in the world. Lillian Bonsignor began her career as an E. M. T. In 1991. It was ultimately promoted to chief of the city's E. M. S. Division where she served for three years before retiring
in 2022. Although she never served as a firefighter, she's confident that won't matter.
I know the job. I know what the firefighters need and I can translate that to this administration who's willing to listen. I know what EMS needs. I have been EMS for 30 plus years.

Get started freeSo yeah, y'all, just one week until Mom Donnie takes over. I'm sure it's gonna be an eventful ride. I think he's going to see that all of the campaign rhetoric or the pre-campaign rhetoric he had, it's gonna be difficult for him to hold the city together and hold his coalition together and hold his support together,
unless he starts to denounce some of the more incendiary things that he himself has said and some of his supporters have said. But the problem is people, he's gonna have a core base of people that want that. I mean, Bernie Sanders is gonna be swearing this guy in.
He's radical, y'all. He's radical. So he's kind of between a rock and a hard place. He's gonna have to give the radical base some meat for them, but at the same time try not to alienate other people who just want things to work and they don't want all of the shenanigans.
I predict this is going to be a tenure full of him trying to figure out how to moderate while still throwing some meat to the radical people. And he himself apparently is one of those people. So let me know what y'all think, drop a comment down below. Do you think Mob Donnie, let's say within the first six months, between January and June, will there be any prominent large scandals in the Mom Donnie administration?

back in the next one ADL officials insist it's not that
simple if it's anti-semitic in his view, he will most certainly condemn it. And we appreciate that. It's just that his view of what's anti-Semitism is less expansive than what the mainstream Jewish community's view is of what is anti-Semitism.
Today, Mamdani appointed Sam Levine as commissioner of the city's Department of Consumer and Worker
Protection, who defended his new boss. I was on the transition committee. I'm also a Jewish New Yorker. I have every confidence that the mayor will be a mayor for all New Yorkers. If I had any doubt whatsoever, I would not be standing here today.
Well, the ADL credits Mamdani tonight for taking quick action on those anti-Semitic social media posts. Again, that was last week. And for his outreach to rabbis.
